The ramen here is very good. Delicious broths and fresh ingredients. I love the eggs in the ramen. Can be busy, so you may have to wait for a table. Servers are fast and friendly. Pretty plain aesthetic and a little noisy, but not bad. One of my favorite spots in China town for ramen.

Decided to try Daifuku for some ramen on a cold Chicago day. With a solid rating and being in the Chinatown area of town, I went in with high hopes only to leave with an it was ok kinda experience. On the upside, the service was on point. Very attentive wait staff. Ramen unfortunately wasn't the most flavorful.

Wasn't sure what to expect. It was really busy in Chinatown due to a holiday and everywhere had to wait. The wait here wasn't quite as long and at least what we could see other food, It looked good. We were pleasantly surprised. The Ramen was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing. Our food came quick and everything we had was so delicious! It's a small spot so I can assume it usually can be busy, but we would definitely go back again!

The first thing I want everyone to know is you will most likely run into a line when attempting to eat here, so be prepared. They do not take reservations for parties under 6. The ambiance was really cute, and it matched what I would think a ramen bar in Japan. The service was good, and the waiters work together to stay attentive to your needs. The food was the best part of the whole experience. Everything I had was DELICIOUS. I started off with a yuzu lemonade. If you don't like sour flavor, don't get it. It was delicious to me. Next, I got the berkshire pork gyoza. They were so flavorful, and the dipping sauce was a perfect addition. Next, I got the silky croquettes. They are potato and crab croquettes with a sauce on top. O.M.G!!! They were SOOOO good. I was not expecting them to like them as much as I did. For my dish, I got the Daifuku spicy garlic ramen. The waitress did not warn me how spicy level 2 was, so be warned. I have a good spice tolerance, so I was able to eat it and taste the flavors of the ramen still. It was sooo good. I added extra pork belly to mine, and it was a great decision. The broth was flavorful and the additions went perfectly together. I would recommend this place for sure. Def go check them out for some delicious ramen!

I tried Daifuku Ramen while visiting Chinatown. Did it help curve the craving I had while on a cold day? Let's find out. Ambiance Walking in, there were more small tables everywhere. There is limited seating but the space feels open. The seats in the middle were comfy. Similar to a smaller armchair. There is a lo-fi music that played in the background which was calming. The music volume was at a level to where you can have a decent conversation. Service It was fairly busy when I went with my fiancé. The order came out at a good time and we did not feel rushed throughout our dining experience. Food Agadashi Tofu I really wished they gave me some rice. This is a very delicious dish. It does come with a dashi broth which is filled with of flavor and the tofu is fried with a light crispy shell. Hakata Tonkatsu Ramen This was the ramen I got. The broth felt clean and the chashu pork was soft and flavorful. The ramen itself had a nice toothsome texture. I think I am used to saltier broth so I felt the overall flavor was somewhat muted but it was very good. Tokyo Shoyu Ramen This is a chicken stock base ramen. This one seem to have more ingredients with it than the one I got. I did get to try the chicken which was soft and juicy. Overall If you are looking for a ramen spot, Daifuku Ramen is a great place to eat. It did satisfy my ramen craving. The food is done very well and the service and ambiance is good. I definitely would recommend Daifuku Ramen especially when the weather is cold.

Inside of chinatown it is difficult to find a decent place to eat ramen. This place have a really good karaage (that i'm always fan of on every japanese place that i go to try), the karaage was really juicy and can taste the umami flavour that is brined. The ramen broth was a little salty for my liking but manageable. However as a place in chinatown the service can't be expected the best, it is always a dumpster fire, don't have a high expectation to have the best service when all the place is busy almost all the time on weekends.

I decided to try something new in Chinatown today. I ordered the vegetable Ramen and added chicken. It was fresh and crisp. The pan seared chicken was just a little too salty. The service was a little slower than expected for carryout. The restaurant also has a dine in option. The vibe is pretty much casual.

Went right when it opened and the service was phenomenal. Food came out fast and servers are extremely attentive. The egg in my ramen was disappointing but the rest was delicious. Would definitely go back again!

WOULD RECOMMEND (dinner). Stopped by in Chinatown for a quick bite, was definitely in the mood for some ramen. When we entered, we were seated right away and given a menu and some water w lemon to start. The menu is very extensive, apparently more extensive than some other ramen spots. Not only that but you can also mix and match the meat that you order. We ordered the Tokyo Shoyu ramen (Pan fried chicken, chicken broth, etc.) and then the Daifuku Spicy Garlic Level II ramen ~ substituted with fried chicken instead (same spicy pork broth). The server recommended Level II spice level, saying that Level I is more moderate heat and Level III is the hottest (Rating: 8:5/10). Now looking back, as a person who enjoys hot/spicy foods, I would definitely get the Level III (but beware, I would try lvl II first before jumping straight to III). The Tokyo Shoyu Ramen is a popular option that is a good safe option, especially if its first time trying ramen, no complaints at all, everything was well cooked (Rating: 8.3/10) Would I come back again? Yes. They have so many options available along with some non-ramen dishes as well. The fact that you can mix and match proteins also is a plus (for not that much surcharge, if any). As far as ramen goes, this is a solid spot that I will keep in mind for next time I want to try with friend/family.

Daifuku Ramen is a great spot in Chinatown if you're craving comforting Japanese food at reasonable prices. Everything we ordered was delicious and clearly made with care. The Sapporo Miso Ramen was rich, hearty, and full of umami flavor. The miso broth was creamy and well-balanced, not too salty and paired perfectly with the springy noodles. The chicken was tender and satisfying and the soft-boiled egg was cooked just right, adding extra depth to the bowl. We also tried the chicken karaage which was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and well seasoned it was an excellent appetizer. The pork buns were another standout with soft, fluffy buns and flavorful melt-in-your-mouth pork. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes especially for the Chinatown area. The staff were very accommodating and friendly which made the dining experience even better. One thing to note: seating is limited so expect a wait during peak hours or busy days. Still, the food is absolutely worth lining up for. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Chinatown and looking for satisfying ramen and comfort food

This is such a cute spot tucked right in the heart of Chinatown. The ramen was really good -- flavorful broth and well cooked noodles. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Can be for a causal or classy date night. They validate parking for the Chinatown parking lot, which makes getting here so much easier. Definitely a great place to grab a comforting bowl of ramen and enjoy the atmosphere. I'll be back!

We stopped in on a Saturday around four and waited maximum ten minutes for a table. When we were seated, the line definitely was growing. Service was efficient and our food came out quickly. We got the bao appetizer which was good ~ kind of had "hamburger" vibes with the lettuce and the spicy mayo. I also had the tonkatsu ramen. I thought it was good but it was also pretty standard -- not the best ramen I've ever had but definitely not the worst. To drink, I had a yuzu lemonade. I liked that it was not (at least to my taste) overly sweet.

Agedashi tofu - looked very unassuming but tasted really good. Chicken Karaage - crispy and juicy. Also very good Tonkatsu ramen - supposed to be the main attraction but honestly, it did not hit. The broth lacked body and flavor. The chashu was good but that's it. And they told us that due to egg prices, the bowl only comes with half an egg.

For the main attraction I ordered the spicy garlic ramen that was such a delightful mouth experience it really hit all the taste buds! The noodles were perfectly bouncy with the right amount of chew. The jellied egg was perfect and rounded the soup very well! The red chili threads enhanced the spicy miso broth just enough to slurp all the delicious goodness down! We ordered steamed dumplings for the kids, but they couldn't eat those cuz of the spicy powders. The staff came over and told us they can't remove the spicy powder from the dumplings. But, like, they could've just not sprinkle the powder on top, it's not like it's part of the filling?! She left for a while and eventually came back and said they could give us another one without the spicy powder. But seriously, who sprinkles spicy powder on steamed dumpling? I don't think any Asian cuisine does that as a default. We had a large party and two household ordered extra noodles, they only brought out one initially. When we asked for the second one, they got all confused, and they had to check all our bills to make sure they didn't give us extra noodles and that we were billed properly. Seems a bit disorganized if they can't handle a party of 10. We correctly guessed that it was non-Japanese people running the shop based on the dialect they spoke... but alas, it's expected that Asians from that region would give us that type of attitude lol so we forgive them for it. Now onto the actual food, it was just OK. My husband ordered a yasai and my oldest ordered a kinoko. I ordered a rosu for the kids. The flavors are not bad but nothing really stood out. The duck meat wasn't as tender as it could be. The kids didn't really like the dumpling/gyoza fillings either. For the price, I really expected better. I got the wakame seaweed salad and the hiyatakko. The wakame salad is just your store bought wakame mixed with some leafs, and the hiyatakko is nothing like the Japanese flavor, it's more Chinese and the tofu they selected isn't even the silky one, so it's actually bland and chalky with very weak chili oil flavor. The presentation is all pretty good tho. Looks good, but tastes are all just mediocre. We probably won't try this place again, at least not this location.

In no way had my body rested. Donned in dawn, my underwear-pajamas slightly slid down revealed a sad vision of man, sloppily tangled in ruffled sheets. Exposed. There is nothing pretty about me, I thought, as I pondered if the sunlight were judging what it saw. Before reaching my current perch on the living room couch, I sat in bed flicking through news in search of something good, but simultaneously only pausing on the bad. Glorifying in the doom, really. It was the pinch I needed to prove I was indeed awake. All day I seek the pinch of pain to prove I am not dreaming. Coffee, cats, clothes, splashof water, and 20 steps later I find myself in the planning pose, here in the living room. The planning pose is very much like the wake-startle, sans the sheets and exposed crack. It involves me laying here on the couch actually reading the articles I perused earlier. I like to rationalize that the information gleaned is to set me up for a day of human interaction. Perhaps it is a study session to get up to human-social-speed. Right now it is dawning on me -- my second uninvited dawn of the day -- that perhaps behavior isn't responsible humanity, it is prolonged self torment. The tighter pinch. The proverbial purple nurple of challenging my awakened state. Cats gather around me. One at my feet and the other curled beside my thigh. Am I king to them? They are fed. Surely they are not here in need of something. Have I done something to warrant this attention? My affection toward them is inconsistent. It ebbs in startling fits of overly attentive playing or petting followed by long droughts of disregard. My ambivalence as their king gives me this luxury, and supports my theory that they may think I am indeed king. This is the type of cyclical example loop I am using as evidence to propel me from the underwear'ed fat man the sun observed moments ago. Evidence that says: "See, Sun, I am more than the larva you spotlighted. I am a god! The cats are evidence! And they sleep in your sun-puddles in undisputed, recognizable perfection, not the ugly crack-exposed heap you found me in. You love them. They love me. So, pinch yourself, and stop judging me!" Obviously the coffee is working, or maybe the cats are doing their trick: making me feel accepted in the universe. Whatever the case may be, I pet my cat. Dander floats into the sun's beams and crystallizes in the air. If you've ever seen dust in a thinly sliced light beam at dawn you know: Hope is the accidental luck of shadows bouncing off of the chaos but always cutting through. Always meeting a surface. Penetrating the thickest of atmospheres and colliding on flowers and alleys, on well planned solar panels, on potholes, through any crack, on my crack, projecting obtuse triangles, acute bi-angles, and isosceles quad-tangles, even while penetrating deep into the sea, revealing all the magnificent details of art, and occasionally falling on me. Trees bend to it. I give the cat closest a good scratch behind the ear and look out the window at the trees greening in spring. A dog walker pauses to pick up excrement. A squirrel cowers behind a branch. The ramen restaurant on the corner is cut through by light warming empty tables; tables preparing to slurp up hungry, hopeful lunchers into the belly of contentment. Dark, seemingly an antagonist to light's hero demeanor, sheepishly slinks away, humbly realizing it is not the opposite of light, but the absence. "Beautiful," I think as I see the spicy broth of life warming in the sun glow beyond the glass. Yes. It is beautiful. It really is. I couldn't see how much in the dark but the rhythm out the window is now clear. I turn to my cat, who is winding down a purr. We share a slow-blink gaze at one another as the last sliver of dawn is replaced with shadow in my house. He moves to the window sill to soak in every second as it departs. "Welp, buddy. Nothing left now. Time to bend to the light"
