This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Elko, Nevada, its great and all the rolls taste very fresh and they are plated great. But my only complaint is that the soup was cold but otherwise it was great. It's very clean and modern and very good service. But I wish they would add bento boxes to the menu. Was a little skeptical of a sushi place in Elko to be completely honest and I ended up avoiding the seafood. I got a pork chop steak thing, which was actually really good! Seasoned just right and the mashed potatoes were amazing. Wasn't a huge fan of the music which is the only reason I gave them 4 stars. Overall really good though. read more

The sushi is very good here no doubt. Honestly my only experience is with the all you can eat sushi. I assume it's a management technique to make you wait so long between rolls, if so this is a poor decision. You will wait sometimes up to an hour between rolls at peak times. The wait staff has a miscommunication issue and a slow pace about them. If you want to eat here maybe go during lunch because dinner time is a waste of money. read more

Multiple waiters throughout the restaurant, but they found them-self more interested in socializing between each other rather than serving customers. The staff is very helpful and have great recommendations, the atmosphere is great, the steaks and rolls are very good, but they lack space and are rather slow when it comes to seating and serving food. It is highly crowded on weekends and specific times during weekdays. i used to love this place. however the service now is just awful ! takes 5 minutes to even be greeted. just to be met with a snotty attitude from the bartender. she was too busy in the bar and was irritated we weren't ready to order. she checked on us only twice and had other hostesses filling our drinks every time needing to ask us what we were drinking. food took way too long and we had to wait about 10 minutes for the check after finishing our food. read more

I won't go back for a third try. We have been here twice, the food is good, but my reason for the low rating is for the service on both visits. The staff is friendly, but because they are so slow it made "all you can eat" sushi a complete waste of money. During last night's visit, we were served a total of five rolls in over an hour and a half, and only got one refill on a soft drink. The staff on hand for a Saturday night was completely inadequate and it made for a bad experience so we asked for the check and left. Consistently horrible service, a sushi dinner should not be a 3 hour ordeal. You can not get a drink refreshed, the food comes out at strange intervals and takes forever. I gave a 2nd Star because the food is good once it finally gets to the table. If they could get their staff coordinated, I would eat there more often. read more

I have come to this restaurant a handful of times and I do indeed enjoy their food. I am looking through all the other reviews and they all have the same thing in common. The Service! I went there not too long ago and I was with 4 of my friends. The server forgot two of our appetizers, forgot my drink and also my friend's side sauce. No big deal right? We all make mistakes even though there were three tables occupied with customers and that includes us so it was not very busy. I see three girls who work there sitting and laughing behind the bar so I walk up and ask for my drink and other missing items since our server must've been busy. They all looked at me with a look of disgust. I didn't realize it was such a terrible thing to do to ask for what I was promised. This has been happening for years. I do love their food, but the service is not good. Food usually takes forever to be brought out and once it is put out on the table, I never see my server till the end. We have to continuously ask for drink refills and by the end of our experience I am so frustrated I don't even want to tip! Once being a server myself I would never not tip, but something really needs to change. I hate to have to write this review, but I as well as many others really want this place to excel. Good food, but it's a hit or miss on the service. Definitely bring your appetite if you plan on doing all you can eat. A little more expensive but I think the food is worth it for a small town like Elko. read more

Love the food. The best service is when Steve (and one other guy but i only got him twice and accidentally forgot his name) is there. Otherwise prepare for it to most likely ( but not always) be slow and neglectful service. But the food is almost always fantastic. If the rest of the servers would do their job better I'd give this 5 stars. read more

Can't recommend this place. The food was mediocre and the service was terrible. Salad showed up almost with the dinner. Sushi was unenjoyable and the $31 Wagyu steak was 1/4 inch thick and almost tough. For $82 (3 of us) I would expect better food. I'll never go again. read more

This is not a sushi place the food is terrible the service is even worse! I caught some sort of food poisoning and was sick for 48 hours straight throwing up. When we first arrived there were employees smoking marijuana by the back door, while in uniform! I do not recommend eating here unless you want to be sicker than you've ever been in your entire life! They just opened Monday. I am moving to Elko, NV. It is a Steak and Sushi house. I had the NY strip. Cooked. perfectly. A good selection of whiskey, Japanese and others. I will definitely be eating here a lot. read more

So I need to start this out by saying the three stars I am giving here for Himiko. Is based off of the Whole Dining Experience, not just the food. I went in on a Saturday night for a Chef Special. Chef Jan-Michael Staub did up Venison Backstrap 5 different ways. First dish was Backstrap tartare with a quail egg. 4 out of 5 stars. Only real dig on this dish was it needed something else and for a 5 plate meal it was to large of a portion. Second dish was a backstrap slider with sweet bacon, blue cheese, and topped with a quail egg. 5 out of 5 stars. perfect size and cooked perfectly. Did not need anything else sauces or anything. Third dish was a backstrap medallion wrap with crab, green onion, and mango salsa drizzle. 5 out 5 stars. This was by far my favorite of all the dishes he made. It was very complex on flavors playing off each other. Forth dish was a sweet apricot curry venison kabob served with greens and a sweet chili drizzle. 3 out of 4 stars. This was by far my least favorite dish he made. It just did not play well on the pallet if you missed even one of the components of the dish in a bite. It needed a peace of everything on the plate to work. But it was still a good dish. Fifth dish was a pan seared backstrap with a tart cherry port sauce, candied rainbow carrots, sauteed poached finger potatoes and brussel sprouts. 5 out of 5. as with the 3rd dish it was complete and did not need anything. Flavors all worked together well both with some of everything and each component by it's self. It was a toss up for me on this dish or number 3 for the top spot. I felt this one was number 2 because the potatoes could have used something to elevate them to the flavors he pulled on the rest of the dish. Front of the House. 1 out of 5 stars. Now its time to get down to why I am only able to give this 3 out of 5 stars. As we all know you can have the best back of the house in the world. However if you do not match your performance in the front of the house you failed. While they are trying to fix this they are not there yet. On this night they Failed. They did have 2 standouts. The Hostess and one of there busser's. These 2 are always smiling and asking if there is anything they can do to help make your night better. The wait staff is slow and forgetful. They do not check back on tables, know there bar menu, how to pair drinks properly. If it was not for the help they get from there hostess and busser's it would be a complete disaster for the front of the house. They have been open long enough to have worked out all of the kinks with front of the house. Serves was so bad. Food was so slow. Alright here's the story. So one day. I decide to go there because they are new. I never been there. Ok. When I got there. I don't know if they are busy or what. I was standing at the door for 5minutes. And no one was going to seated me. Finally some one seated me. After going through the menu. I choose the AYCE. And I ordered a order of mussels. Remember this just one. After I finished my mussels. An old lady just come up and said just take another mussels. I'm like :really. I don't want another. That's the first part. I order a roll. I forgot what it's called but I don't think it will take 1hour to make that roll. So I sat there and play for on my phone for half hour. And so I decide to go to bathroom Just one minute. When I walk out. All my stuff was gone. And the server even ask me if I still want to eat. I'm like really man? I didn't eat at all. I didn't get my roll yet. 2 friends and I came here on Friday night and the service was beyond terrible! after seated it took 20 minutes to get a drink order..20 minutes later we received them..we all wanted all you can eat but unfortunately the waiter only came by once and not everything was brought out when they served us! when we decided we were done there we sat for another hour waiting on a check, thats when 1 of us got up and asked for a supervisor.. at that time TABBY came to the rescue and was very understanding about our concerns she helped us with our food and check and was able to really turn our experience around, we will be back because of her.
