Two visits. First was a Sunday evening a few weeks ago. I grabbed an open spot at one of the two bars, told the bartender I'd heard the spinach artichoke dip and French Dip Sandwich were both stellar. He replied, "That's all you need." The spinach artichoke is unique and very flavorful. It is thankfully not over saturated with mayo or dairy. The cheese is what distinguishes this dip. It is supposedly imported directly from Italy. It tastes like it. The French Dip. The bread is extremely high quality. Fresh and essentially perfect. There might be a moment you question the meat's consistency, however upon further notice you realize it is the exquisitely thin and fine slice of the meat which gives it that consistency. Service was stellar, and food fantastic. Two weeks later, had a mid afternoon reservation for my daughter and I for a late lunch. Due to a flight delay, I called Hillstone and cancelled. They had no reservations open for that evening, and said to come in anyway and get on the waiting list. We showed up around 6:30p. I mentioned to one of the hostesses we'd cancelled a reservation earlier that afternoon and were there to be put on the list. The hostess replied, "Ah, I'm the one you spoke with earlier," she paused and glanced at her tablet briefly, "It just so happens a two-top just came open, would you like to take that opening?" I can't make this up, folks. Completely stunned, we gladly said yes! We had the spinach artichoke dip (of course). It was consistently on point. My daughter opted for the French Dip, I opted for the Veggie Burger which I'd seen rave Yelp reviews of. I've attached a photo of it. It was massive and delectable, simply cannot say enough good things about it. Highly highly recommend. A lot of different components all come together for lights out flavor. You may have never thought a veggie burger could equate or exceed a $24 price tag - try this one at Hillstone and write your own review about the answer. :-) Service both times was fluid and prompt. This restaurant is busy for a reason, yet the staff is a well-oiled machine ready for the task. On my two visits, a 5-star experience end to end. read more

Had lunch reservations on a Thursday for my wife's birthday. We started with the smoked artichokes and dipping sauce. They bracts were smoky and delicious. For lunch, my wife had the French Dip and fries, which she really enjoyed. I had the Chicken Salad and it was very tasty and bright. The corn in the salad was simply ingenious. We drank sparkling wine that was much better than we expected. The service was on point. There is a dress code and the setting of the restaurant is simply fabulous. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. THE FOOD is literally to the die for. You know why? Because their filet is perfectly cooked every single time. Shout out to the chefs there wow. I'm a big hill stone fan. When I lived in orlando, I went to the hill stone there all the time. And I am so glad denver has one! All of their ingredients are so fresh. Every taste and bite just melts into your mouth. If you haven't gotten the filet, please try! It's worth it. I also love all of their side dishes, my ultimate favorite is the creamed corn. Service is always astounding. Not once did my water ever went empty. The restaurant does get crowded every weekend so it's a must to arrive on time for your reservation. The decor is classy which makes me also feel classy. I love Hillstone! And to be honest I haven't had a wonderful experience the past couple times I have been here... but we still chose to give it another try for my birthday lunch this afternoon. They definitely didn't disappoint. Our server, Tyler, was overwhelmingly smiley and every point of his service was beyond phenomenal. He anticipated our needs before we could ask and everything just went so smoothly. Our table was immaculately clean, food arrived promptly, and because I felt the chicken wasn't totally up to par he was SO understanding and made me feel so comfortable. Thank you Tyler and thank you Hillstone for the wonderful experience :) My younger sister ordered the salmon... and will not stop raving about it. She asked if she could order one for dinner too lol. My moms burger, the California burger, was cooked perfectly. I love this place! Wonderful atmosphere and incredible staff. If you order a martini, they bring you a cold glass halfway through which I think is such a special touch. I actually came here on Valentine's Day, but it's taken me nearly two weeks to fully comprehend how great of a meal it was. The ambience was spectacular. They have super cool decorations and the restaurant design and lighting is very thoughtfully done. There was also a very cozy fireplace. Tables on the outside of the restaurant were well spaced, but the inside of the restaurant had booths. Rather than close off full booths, they were seating people in such a way so that they weren't back-to-back with people at another booth. It was an interesting approach, but my mind ruler thought the spacing looked right. They are doing bar seating as well, with spacing in between parties. Service was super friendly and great. We were sat promptly for our reservation and greeted quickly. Our server told us the specials and brought water and drinks soon after the greeting. The food. was. INCREDIBLE. I spent some time thinking about when the last time was that I had such a good meal and could not come up with anything. I officially declare this the best meal I have ever eaten. I had The Hawaiian, which is a ribeye with pineapple-soy-ginger-marinade. I was worried it would be too sweet, but it was actually perfect. It had a sweetness to it and you could tell it was marinated, but it wasn't drowning in sauce and the meat wasn't overpowered. My husband got a bone-in ribeye, which was the special. He tried the "Quickstart" bloody mary and I had a margarita. We loved both of them. My only complaint is that they only have mashed potatoes available at dinner. Everything was delicious, and we loved the warm vibe of this casual, yet nice restaurant. A great jeans, wedges, and a cute top type of spot. We all had cocktails, which we enjoyed. To start: warm bread that we unabashedly slathered with extra butter, served alongside some tasty olives and almonds. We also got a sushi roll that I could happily eat every day for the rest of my life. It had coconut and macadamia nuts and was different than other rolls I've had, but the flavors totally worked together without being too weird. I think it was the hiramasa roll? For my entree, I ordered the ruby red trout. It was delicious, though unfortunately not local (from Idaho, but Colorado). My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant. We have eaten here three times and each time we are treated with spectacular service from the host stand until we get our check. The cocktails are so delicious and just the right strength. I always order the gin martini and there is always a server replacing my cocktail glass with a cold one. My favorite entree is The Hawaiian which is the ribeye with a pineapple ginger soy marinade. The steak is high quality and the flavor is impeccable. Our servers are always so friendly and attentive. This restaurant has become our favorite date spot in a very short amount of time. I highly recommend this restaurant for fans of American fare in a cozy ambiance. read more

This used to be my go-to upscale restaurant in the Denver area, but sadly I can no longer say that. Our past 2 experiences have been less than great. From the unwelcoming hostesses to a lack of menu item availability and a charred filet mignon, I will be finding my new go-to spot and can no longer recommend Hillstone to friends and family. The servers have always been great but a great server can't make up for a $70 charred steak and lack of menu options. If you do choose to dine here, don't get hustled by the deck next to their parking lot that will charge you $40 for a couple of hours on the weekends. They have a private parking lot but spots almost never open up in it. read more

Swanky place with a high-end feel. The food matched it's atmosphere in looks and taste. My friend and I ordered and split the "House-Made Veggie Burger" (without the bun...they unfortunately did not have a Gluten Free bun) and the Thai Steak and Noodle Salad. The Veggie Burger was the best one I have ever experienced. It was juicy, thick and stock full of so much goodness. The Thai Steak & Noodle Salad tasted just as amazing. However, I forgot to check on the type of noodles used in it, I don't think they were Gluten free. The service was amazingly fast and the food came equally fast. Went here for Saturday date night and we LOVED it. It's been years since I've been to a Hillstone restaurant. Wow, I am so glad we decided to dine here. The Cherry Creek location is prime. Plenty of swanky rooftop or speakeasy bars nearby if you want to have a cocktail before or after dinner. Our reservation was at 9 and we got there a bit early so we decided to grab a cocktail at the side bar. I got an old fashioned with Buffalo Trace and my boyfriend ordered a Blanton's neat. He was SO excited when he saw that Blanton's! We can't find it anywhere in Denver so that was a plus for us! It took them a while to prepare our table and we didn't get seated until 9:15. As the host sat us she apologized for the delay and offered an appetizer on the house. We so appreciated that. First up? Spinach artichoke dip for our complimentary appetizer. It is served with salsa, sour cream, and warm tortilla chips. We also started off with a spicy tuna roll. We thoroughly enjoyed both of our appetizers. The entrees were aay-maaayy-zinggg, okayyy? I got the Scottish Salmon with a warm kale salad and the pomm puree. My boyfriend got the Ribeye medium rare (which was one of the specials of the day) with a loaded baked potato. That may be the best salmon I think I've had. It had the perfect amount of seasoning, but not too much to overpower the taste of the fish. I didn't get to taste the ribeye but my boyfriend ate every last bite, he was so full by time we left! As we were finishing up dinner we had another round of drinks, this time I decided to order a Sazerac (a whiskey cocktail made with absinthe). The bartender delivered the drink to our table apologizing for the wait (since she had to chill the glass). Chloe our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Guest service speaks volumes. They know what they're doing here. After we left I immediately told my boyfriend that we will be going back there. No question. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. Everything I've had here has been delicious! The highlight for me is their Hawaiian ribeye, which is insanely flavorful. The double-cut pork chop is also excellent, nice char and a very good mustard sauce. Cozy ambiance, upscale without being too fancy, and top-notch service. read more

You can't go wrong with Hillstone, no matter the location. The food and service is always consistent which is something I always appreciate. My husband and I were starving by the time dinner arrived so we ordered a ton. We started with the salmon appetizer which is always perfect. Good size portion of perfectly cooked salmon. We also had the grilled artichokes which I haven't had in forever. They were so good! Perfectly charred. For my main I couldn't resist the prime rib dip which is really the best dip I've ever had. Second time the hosts have been beyond rude. We are always told an excessive time for the wait and then when we leave we get a call that a table is ready. The really do not inderstand the timing of their table turnover. Yes the food is great but so many cuatomers besides myself find them incredibly rude. We came in on a Thursday evening without reservations and while the wait was a little longer than ideal, we were able to nab a table by the bar and enjoy a couple glasses of wine to pass time. We'd come here every week if it wasn't so pricey, but can't complain much as the food and drinks are totally worth it. Ribs came out burnt, tasting like cigarettes. Sent them back, second order of ribs had gray meat throughout that tasted bad and looked old, like they were leftovers from a couple of nights ago. Now comes the best part. Asked to speak to a manager. Gentleman came over, looked at my plate (I had finished my french fries due to extreme hunger and had pushed the meat around looking for a bite that wasn't gray) and he said, "It looks like you've eaten your meal." I replied that I'd eaten the ff but I wanted a full plate of food as I was hungry. In response to my telling him the first plate of ribs were burnt and tasted like cigarettes, he actually said they would note in their records that I don't like my ribs crispy!!! Records? I replied that I don't mind my ribs crispy, I just don't like them burnt. I was brought a new dinner of something else, which I appreciated, but the experience and the bad ribs left me with a bad taste. read more

It was Friday night and there was already a good vibe flowing at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we were twenty minutes late because of traffic, but out hostess was "No Problem!" I don't have a bad thing to say about Hillstone. My sister and I went for a girl's night out a couple weeks ago and it was PACKED on a Saturday night. You definitely will want to make a reservation. Our server was Trinity and she was on top of everything. We started with some great cocktails - I got "The Crush" (Grey Goose vodka, white grapes & torn basil) - seriously SO good. We started with coconut shrimp roll and that was delightful as well. I got the Scottish Salmon and my sister got the wildly-popular Famous French Dip - both were perfectly cooked and delicious.
