Spicy salmon, golden moments, kiss of fire

Stumbled on this place somewhere on the internet...I was looking for high quality sushi that's still affordable. I think this place is great bang for buck! It's tucked away and seems pretty family/neighborhood oriented. It took us a while to get our sushi after we were seated and finished our appetizers. Other than that, we had a great experience and the servers were nice and efficient! We got the kiss of fire, a spicy salmon roll, and the golden moments. It was a great mix of sushi for us, but the golden moments roll surprised us and was probably our favorite! Would definitely come back to try other menu items. There are a couple of other special rolls we were curious about!

Yelp Review 2025 #223: After arriving at DIA, I couldn't find a sushi restaurant that's open for lunch. I really wasn't expecting great sushi...in Denver. But I was pleasantly surprised by this little neighborhood sushi spot. The restaurant is small and cozy. There's a mural on the wall on your left as soon as you walk in. There's a sushi bar and a few tables. The menu is simple. I didn't check their regular menu, I just wanted sushi. I came here for lunch and got a few nigiri and sashimi and I was not disappointed. Salmon, King Salmon, fatty salmon, Ikura, fatty tuna, and 2 rolls I cannot remember the name of - thick slices of fish of superb quality. I left feeling absolutely satisfied. They have premade wasabi and fresh wasabi. I got the chance to talk to the owner, Joe for a bit. Very nice man. So, if you're in the area, check this place out.

I usually do not eat sushi away from the coasts but this was a nice surprise! Parking was a little tough so try to go during non peak hours. This place looks like a good place to stop in for drinks and a snack as well as dinner! We had a group family dinner and it did not disappoint. We kind of went crazy ordering but here are a few favorites of the group: spicy edamame, shishito peppers (I loved these!), shake toro (fatty salmon - my kids ordered 3 orders each), black mamba roll, something that came in little cucumber shot glass looking things, and the crab ramen. The staff was attentive without being in our face. We are pretty spoiled with sushi in Southern CA but this was a great find in Denver. Try it out!

Came here for a midday lunch and this place is tucked away in this cute little spot near Cherry Creek. They have their own set of parking so you don't have to fight for it on the streets They have lots of natural, bright lighting, making it a very happy atmosphere, and I love the style of a pencil and paper list of all their menu items where you check off the boxes for what you want We tried the rainbow California roll, the aburi Toro, and the aburi flight. I'm a sucker for aburi anything since my favorite sushi are ones that are seared, and these did not disappoint, both the Toro and the flight were amazing. You pay a premium price, but it's worth it. The rainbow California roll was nothing special, I felt like they could have added a bit more to the flavor profile or a crunchy texture to give it some depth. The service was pretty good, our server didn't introduce herself, and there were only a few tables in the whole place, but she came back around often enough and it's a small restaurant so there's never a time when you can't get her attention if you need it

I stumbled onto this little gem while up in Glendale, looking for something fresh and tasty for lunch--sushi! Yelp helped me to find something close by with great reviews. I read the descriptions of various rolls and decided to drive straight over. Kazumi is a cozy little spot, hidden off a residential street, and did not disappoint! I'm so over sushi places with 25+ specialty rolls, most made with "spicy" tuna or "spicy" yellowtail...the yucky trim parts of the (sushi-grade) fish, mixed with mayo and spicy stuff. The rolls here were awesome, with several cucumber-wrapped rolls, a personal favorite of mine. Everything was fresh and tasty and prices were pretty reasonable for the area, making repeat business a guarantee!

Delicious! I don't remember the names of the rolls we got but all was enjoyed. They don't have a specific GF menu or designations but the waitress marked my order as gluten free. Went around 6pm on Friday and waited about 15 minute. There were huge fluctuations of people waiting but seemed like the staff sat and served efficiently. Would go again!

Really good sushi spot. Ordered the crispy rice with spicy tuna amazing. And yellowtail special in ponzu sauce with arugula and baby tomatoes. And one roll that had mango on top very tasty. Service was friendly. And it was quiet inside. Lots of parking in the front.

Gyoza (served pan fried and crispy side up - there are about five pieces)

We just happened upon this place through a maps search nearby last week but what a gem! It seemed Japanese owned, and Asian run. The service was friendly - you could tell most people were regulars and treated with great affection! The fish was very fresh and the noodles cooked well. They were also very accommodating to our children and so sweet when there was a toddler food accident, telling us to stop cleaning up so we could enjoy the meal. The drink menu also looked good - for another visit without the kids maybe! Finally, they had both indoor and outdoor seating, depending on what ambiance you prefer! Highly recommend checking this place out especially if you live in the area.

A little hidden gem in the Denver Hilltop neighborhood! We are always looking for a great sushi place and this one fit the bill. They open early for dinner which is really great for our needs. Our group stopped in last Wednesday night. The restaurant is beautiful, clean and bright. Their staff is friendly and they have a nice mix of options on their menu. We chose a variety of rolls and tempura. It was delish! If I had any complaint, their sushi rice is a little gummy, but it was very fresh and tasty. Hye Kazumi... would love to see you offer a limited happy hour..... We will be back.

This spot was a hidden gem I found as I was browsing for a good sushi spot to try in the Denver area. It was about 5 miles away from downtown where I was staying, but I said i'll give it a try. As a sushi snob, I was thoroughly impressed. They had a nice variety of speciality rolls which was something I was looking for. The rolls I had were all very good and the quality was great. Not super expensive. The staff were also very friendly. Would highly recommend and definitely would come back.

My cousin came to visit me and said she wanted sushi at some point. To be honest - I rarely get sushi even though I like it so I did some research to find authentic sushi rather than the more trendy spots with over the top rolls. This place was perfect. First, there is a small parking lot to park it which I always LOVE so I don't have to stress about street parking. We went for lunch so it was pretty quiet and got seated right way. They have the typical form to check off what you want. I wanted to start with a miso soup. And we got the Yaki Udon. We got yellowtail jalapeño sashimi. And we also got 2 rolls - Kiss of Fire and Dazzling Night. The yaki udon was flavorful and came with big chunks of chicken. We ate it all up! Yellowtail sashimi had a good kick with the jalapeño but refreshing since they also gave little tomato slices. I liked both sushi's we got but the Dazzling Night was my fave of the two. I liked the light and freshness of it. It had soy paper wrapping instead of seaweed. The kiss of fire was super flavorful. The service was also excellent. Super friendly employees. Our waiter started asking us about ourselves and where we were from. He also made it a point to really thank us for coming which I always appreciate from locally owned places. I will be back anytime I want sushi!

Specialty Sashimi Yellow Jalapeño Yellow Tail!

The four hand roll and Vegetable Egg Roll made me come back often. Have been trying the signature sashimi and the four I have tried were all excellent!

I loved this food. I received take-out from this sushi place after a friend recently went and raved about the food and the family that runs this place. I ordered the Yellowtail Jalapeno a salmon roll and a spicy tuna roll. The Yellowtail Jalapeno was beautifully presented with sliced jalapenos and tomato and was bathed in what I guess was a ponzu sauce The tuna and salmon rolls were pretty standard but very fresh. The woman on the phone was exceptionally friendly as wa the gentleman who brought the food. I am so glad this place came, welcome to the neighborhood!

We ordered the sake and the sake mule. Both were good! We also got 2 pieces of nigiri from Japan and it was heavenly! Other items that piqued our interest were the tuna firecracker roll, a salmon roll, and another tuna roll. Everything tasted delicious, although I was surprised by the asparagus in my rolls. I was in Denver to visit my friend, and I was telling her how I really liked hand rolls and so she recommended this place and it did not disappoint. We got here during happy hour when at first opened and immediately there was already a line luckily we were early so we did get seated a few minutes after arriving, and we were served relatively quickly. We got to sit at the bar and we ordered off of the happy hour menu, which was great because it had more than enough of what I wanted to try. We got several hand rolls and several of their other appetizers, but my favorite has to be their hand rolls. Their seaweed was so crispy and rolled so nicely. The rice was flavorful and their fish was so fresh. I felt like their prices were also pretty reasonable and I was more than content after having that dinner. Overall, I would put this very much on par with a place called Kazunori in LA. I heard that this restaurant has a sister restaurant called sushi Den that I heard was really good and that I will be trying out next time I'm in town. Please come try out Tamaki done if you're ever in the area the food will not disappoint. The restaurant is big with plenty indoor seating, but it will get packed and for good reasons because the food is so good!

We thought we made a mistake choosing sushi bar instead of a table because we'll have back issues. Surprisingly, the chairs had a mini back so you could lean back occasionally. And we think our experience was better because the sushi chefs would explain the origin of the fish and all the ingredients they used into each roll and order. We also got a complimentary piece for sitting at the sushi bar which was a light fried yellow tail which was so good. Service is amazing. They're attentive and check in on you often. It does take some time to get your rolls but give its time to digest. From watching the sushi chefs at the bar, they're very precise in how they make each roll. Every roll has similar proportions from the slight wasabi they use to the amount of rice and fish. Everything that we had was amazing. The hamachi and salmon sashimi felt like butter. It just melts in your mouth. The aged toro was so delicious. Even the edamame was just so good. The unagi nigiri is some of the best I've had in the state (the nigri was better than the handroll and I think it's because I love unagi so I love the ratio in nigiri form). The Spicy Tuna Oshizushi was a surprising favorite of the night along with the Crème Fresh Salmon Belly. I could've done without the wagyu but it was good. Every order does come with only 1 so order based on the amount of people that are with your party. Some items we were unsure of like the wagyu so we ordered 1 and shared a bite. Overall, I understand the hype and the reservations. But it was worth it and I'm surprised we can get high quality fish in a landlock state. Of the high end sushi restaurants in CO, Temaki Den is probably my fave.
