I went here before a concert and was really impressed with the quick service and the food! Both of my items were so good as-is that I didn't even have to add on soy sauce/wasabi/ginger etc. Really impressed with the flavors. I went solo so seating was easy at the chef's bar, but it is definitely a reservation spot. Beautiful decor and vibe. It was my last dinner in Denver and it didn't disappoint! read more

Located in congress park neighborhood. Feels local and cozy. I was surprised to find that everything was gluten free! Also happy to find that their fish is sourced responsibly. Service was super friendly and paced nicely. The sauce on the green machine was herby and creamy and not like anything I've had on sushi before! Really yummy. If I lived here I'd definitely be a regular. read more

Bamboo Sushi - Green Machine and Bamboo Dragon - Sushi Bars Near Me - Denver, Colorado

The atmosphere was great, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. The food was delicious, but unfortunately the service was well below what you'd expect from this type of establishment. We were a party of eight celebrating my daughter's birthday, and although we let the staff know in advance, it was never acknowledged. Our meals came out over the course of about 15 minutes, making for an awkward dining experience as we waited for everyone to be served before eating. To make matters worse, one person's meal was forgotten entirely. By the time it finally arrived, everyone else had already finished eating and was simply waiting for her. Our waitress was friendly, but the overall flow of service was extremely poor. What should have been a special birthday celebration turned into a very disappointing dining experience read more

Great vegan options! Their best selling roll is actually vegan ! The green machine roll is so good I couldn't believe it! Staff is very knowledgeable on what options are vegan! Cute atmosphere and patio! Only two small comments - we had to keep asking the server to take old dishes away as we kept running out of room at the table- she was very nice but we could tell she seemed very busy. As well as the food and drinks were very slow to come out. read more

Can't believe we didn't come here sooner. Really big & really well done menu. Everything we tried we enjoyed and had no complaints ambiance, service or food. The nigiri was fantastic and the rolls were really well done! The hoki poki box & amberjack nigiri's were faves and the happy hour yakitori was awesome. read more

The sushi was decent, the hoki poki box was flavorful and good quality sushi, but difficult to pick up, Friday the 13th had good texture but was not too flavorful. The atmosphere was lovely, we sat at the bar but the booths looked really cute and the waiters were around but not too pushy read more

First time visit and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere inside was very clean and well decorated which was very nice. They have a Patio area that would been very enjoyable; however, it snowed the day before so not perfect for outside dining but would have if weather was better. Our server was very helpful and provided positive suggestions and was very honest about certain items we were inquiring about. We had the regular side salad which was perfect with a great dressing. The sushi rolls we ordered were the rainbow and sunset. Each had eight generous portions. We slo had some deep fried mushrooms off the happy hour menu. We also had a small portion of the snow crab roll which was two but a good size amount of crab legs. Well worth the price and we will be back to try some other recommendations and sit on the patio. read more

First time at Bamboo Sushi and I really enjoyed most of the experience. It had a very chill ambiance inside and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. I will say it's in a busy area of town, so parking may be very frustrating in LoHi. For starters we got the edamame, spicy tuna crispy rice and spicy tuna hand rolls. All were great but the crispy rice was out of this world, definitely want to go back and try their other selections. Also got the table side fresh grated wasabi which had an excellent flavor to it. We got 3 rolls- The Friday the 13th roll, the Green Machine, and the Hoki Poki Box. The first two rolls mentioned were heavy dosed in sauce, which kind of killed the vibes but still had some decent flavor. The Hoki Poke Box was the star of the show, it was soooo good. Next time I go back to Bamboo, I'm going to either ask for less sauce on top of the rolls, or do some more research and choose rolls that are not drenched in sauce. I want to taste more sushi flavors going to a sushi restaurant personally. Something random but I'm still thinking about the hand soap in the bathrooms, too. Smelt so nice and we are considering getting some for the house as well. read more

Best sushi I've had in Denver. The presentation, the service and ambiance was amazing! Try the green machine sushi roll it was great!! Honestly nothing bad to say about the place. They also oddly have some great flavored ginger. read more

Fantastic sushi. Really love the more traditional serving style, minimal "American" rolls (no cream cheese, fried, covered in sauce etc) which adds to the authentic flavor and feel. Super vibey spot, staff is attentive and hospitable. Our spread: spicy tuna crispy rice, Friday the 13th roll, rivers and streams roll, miso soup, king salmon nigiri and avocado nigiri, and the sweet ginger pot de creme (say that 5x). Everything was extraordinary tasty and fresh. The king salmon was like butter, I could've eaten at least 12 of them. Pot de crème was similar to a creme brulee, the toasted macadamia nuts were so good and added some great depth. 10/5 for taste and presentation of food. I would say 4.5 stars, taking away half a star because they didn't have any Wagyu and our waiter informed us that some equipment in the back was broken, and they keep saying it'll get fixed in a few days but hasn't. A little bummed because that burger sounded so delish. read more

My husband and I shared: - Sparkling Yuzu Lemonade - Spicy Salmon Tartare - Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice - Garden of Eden Roll - Friday The 13th Roll - Green Machine Roll with Salmon I really enjoyed everything we ordered. The Green Machine roll was my favorite and you can never go wrong with crispy rice. The only downside was that they were out of several things we wanted to order which was disappointing. Bamboo sushi is one of our favs for sushi but this review is for the service! Our server Jorge (I think) was not friendly, rushed us and was borderline rude. I didn't feel comfortable as he kept peeking while I was paying the check and adding gratuity - it made the experience unpleasant. The host was sweet and friendly. We have always had a good experience at bamboo sushi and I am disappointed at my most recent experience here. read more

Pleasant surprise for a first time visit-a menu with enough variety to meet the tastes of everyone in our group. Food: A taste for sushi was obviously the main reason for the restaurant choice -and the sushi did not disappoint. Equally well liked were the appetizers like the fried Brussels sprouts, and the sides . I was happy to enjoy the shrimp tempura - a nice light batter and enough to share. The food arrived quickly, & sequentially as each dish was prepared. Service- service was excellent Facility-attractive, clean, cheerful Location-convenient. Street parking was available within a couple of blocks. read more

I am always a sucker for trying new restaurants especially sushi. So when I noticed Bamboo was a place nearby, I had to try it! We came on a Tuesday night and it was quite busy! We didn't have a reservation but they took us quickly to table. It was a beautiful evening so we decided to sit on the patio which is very spacious. We got a lot to share but there were a few items that really stood out. I'm a spicy tuna crispy rice FAN so I had to order it when I saw it on the menu and it might've been the most solid one I've tried. The rice is indeed crispy and the spicy tuna is delicious and has a small kick to it My boyfriend ordered the Full Circle Roll and Green Machine Roll. I ordered the Friday the 13th roll. The full circle roll was honestly so good and unique. I really loved the crispy texture along with the watercress which made it so tasty. The green machine had this green sauce that was OUTSTANDING. It really made me say wow out loud. A roll that I will definitely get again. It is vegetarian but I'm sure you can ask for fish in it. The Friday the 13th roll was good! I liked it but wasn't anything too special. I think I would pass next time and try something new. We also got the Crispy Garlic Tofu and again, WOW. So flavorful and the texture was spot on. It's hard to find good tofu sometimes but this was great - and the sauce, chefs kiss. It's in LoHi and great area to walk around if you're looking for a good place to eat! Can't wait to come back and eat some more delicious sushi and tofu. read more

Came here as a foursome and made a reservation the same day just a few hours in advance on a Sunday evening. The place is really cute, classy clean decor that matches the Japanese aesthetic. We were waiting for the other two in our party to show up, our server was honestly giving a bit of attitude, i won't air him out on here even though he did say his name. We were starving and he didn't even give us the opportunity to order anything, just said he would come back when the rest of our party arrived. We ended up flagging him down again to order something to hold us over. Throughout the meal he didn't come back to check on us, i got his attention to ask for some spicy Mayo and he dropped it with an attitude. The food was pretty good though, loved the rolls, we had the green machine, the Friday the 13th, and a salmon crispy rice. Green machine is really good & unique, the sauce is yummy. The Friday roll tastes so fresh, the fish smells good and is delicious. The crispy rice wasn't my favorite ever but not bad. Thanks for having us. will come back and try more rolls and hopefully sit with someone else! read more

Our first time here and it was really good. We ordered several dishes and all shared. The price wasn't bad for everything we ordered either. My favorites would have to be the fish in a type of yuzu sauce and the breaded cauliflower. Their sushi was pretty good as well. We sat outdoors which was pleasant and our server was very kind and had good recommendations. I would probably come back to try more. read more

Truly, I hate giving out bad reviews. But, we've been here 3 times and truly the sushi just isn't good. I eat a lot of sushi and every time we've come here, the fish tastes just okay. We got 2 rolls, 2 crispy rice and salmon nigiri. The salmon nigiri is ALWAYS our favorite and we didn't finish them. Also I got the king crab nigiri and it was pretty fishy... I really don't have much else or bad things to say. Service is good and the crispy sushi rice was flavorful, although the texture of rice itself is kinda like a stale French fry. The place itself is vibey, and the menu is good. Maybe we've just continuously ordered the wrong thing? It has good ratings elsewhere so maybe I'm just missing something... read more

This is the perfect spot for a girlfriend yap date. If the weather is nice, def request being sat on the patio. It was such a vibe! The service was great. I wish I remembered our waitresses name, she was so friendly. We arrived towards the end of happy hour and got the handrolls from that menu and they were very tasty! I'm going to start by saying I'm a complete sushi snob. This place was a delight. I boldly ordered the Nigiri not expecting much (I'm sorry land locked state) and I was beyond impressed. The fish was fresh, it melted in my mouth... it was everything you'd hope nigiri would taste like. The fact that nearly everything on the menu was gluten free was another pleasant surprise (this is surprisingly a big ask whilst eating sushi around Denver) We ordered three additional rolls along with some cocktails. We were overall very happy with the entire experience. Service was great, food was delicious, outdoor seating was wonderful... overall highly recommend read more

I loved all of the Yakumi sashimi; delicious and unique flavor combinations. The nigiri cured mackerel, seared albacore, and king salmon were each fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I ordered the crispy rice citrus salmon for the first time and it was amazing and very filling. It can't be healthy, but it is worth it for the texture and indulgence. In fact, everything that we ordered was a home run. If we're looking for a "fancy" sushi experience this is our go-to. read more

It's been a long time since I've been to Bamboo Sushi and I wondered why I haven't written a review! Some details may be a bit fuzzy but I do remember how I felt that cold December night and how there were a good amount of people there when we showed up. The first thing I always remember is how the restaurant's environment made me feel and how we were treated. The interior felt traditional yet modern to many izakayas found in Japan. Waitstaff was certainly top notch and it was such a joy to be welcomed to dine. The next things on the list are food. I remember the chicken karaage-like bao. didn't care for the mint all too much but the rest of the dish was good. We also tried some Asian-Fusion type rolls that also did really well. Even the traditional nigiri was cut masterfully and tasted great! Have a look at the pictures for a better idea of what they offer. A return trip is long overdue and I'm glad reminiscing with old photos led me back to Yelp. time to get on the ball and plan the next reservation! read more

We have always enjoyed the first-class menu preparations at this wonderful sushi restaurant, but last night the service fell flat on its face. One in our party is disabled, and after booking a table online we also phoned directly to specify a table NO booth, but that's where we were stuck without a lengthy wait, even though we were early. Once at our table, "server" Jake did not bring dipping dishes for our rolls, was very inattentive in checking on our needs (including bringing the check) and never offered us dessert, which we ended up having somewhere else. Not a good experience this time. read more

We decided to visit this place after looking through some of the options on Yelp, and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by a very nice host and got seated. They place has a nice atmosphere (patio seating available) and looks very clean. Our server Jorge was awesome. We asked for recommendations, and he gave us some really good ones. To drink I went for their version of the Old Fashion. To eat I had some miso soup (delicious), and and avocado and cucumber roll, and for dessert a super delicious matcha pana cotta. We had a great time here, the service was phenomenal, and the food was lovely. Wish it was closer to Colorado Springs. read more

Bamboo Sushi is located in the heart of LoHi and holds the distinction of being the first sustainable-certified sushi restaurant. I finally got around to trying it earlier this year, and now I know I'll be making it a regular stop in the new year! What I ordered: - Crispy Brussels Sprouts - Chicken Karaage - Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice - Miso-Glazed Black Cod - Charred Mackerel - Bamboo Dragon Roll - Tuna Zuke Sashimi - King Salmon Sashimi (Disclaimer: I'm trying my best to remember the order because I didn't write it down ...rookie mistake!) Best bites: Everything was fresh and delicious, but the Black Cod and Mackerel completely stole the show. They were both outstanding and easily some of the best fish I've had there. read more

Finding quality sushi rolls has been hard coming from the east coast. There are some good omakase spots in Denver but I'm so glad I found Bamboo because I needed some variety! The ingredients are high quality and there are tons of great rolls to choose from. Sometimes less is more, and they're good about letting the flavor combos speak for themselves rather than overloading with sauce and cream cheese (IYKYK). Great date spot and the bar has been pretty open every time I've visited. Servers are really nice and the mood is intimate enough that it could be a girly date with your friends or something more romantic for a special occasion. The only weird thing is that if you make a reservation they do limit your sitting time. I would understand if this place was absolutely slammed, but it was an odd feeling to be rushed out at the end (chugging the rest of my sake) but also seeing open bar seats and tables. Even still - I will be back. read more

A beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The service overall was great with a few kinks. We started with gomae - blanched spinach, sesame-soy dressing and ordered the Tomodachi platter that could serve 4-6 people, but we ate it all with just 3 and weren't stuffed. It included several hosomaki rolls (tuna, salmon, negihama), sashimi, nigiri, spicy tuna crispy rice, green machine roll, sunset roll, and garden of Eden. Overall the food was fresh and the mocktails were delicious. I ended my meal with green tea. During the end of the meal soy sauce was spilled by the waiter at a table next to me and it got all over the shoes and ankles. It went unacknowledged until I stated cleaning my leg the napkin. Otherwise the experience would've been 5 stars. read more
