Tatsu Izakaya is a cute place that will pack up quick. We went here for dinner on a Sunday night and it filled up almost immediately. There were a good amount of people already there when we arrived. We ordered Sashimi, Jalapeno Hamachi, Crispy Tofu, and a Spicy Ramen. The Sashimi was actually pretty good for Denver standards. It was delicious. The Cripsy Tofu was fantastic and flavorful. The Hamachi was okay, I wish the flavors were a bit different. It tasted like straight sriracha which isnt bad but wish it had more to it. The Ramen was pretty good. I liked it with some spice to it. This place was a good Sunday dinner and glad we went.

Amazing service. I had the Karuma and it was one of the freshest and best rolls I've had in awhile. We also got spicy edamame and vanilla and matcha mochi for the table. I strongly recommend the matcha mochi

Pirates, please be warned this establishment may be run by Marines. Multiple wanted posters of One Piece pirates are shown around the restaurant. Tatsu Izakaya is all around a good ramen shop. The noodles were great, the broth tasty, and they have some very well-done chasu that they grill, it seems. The egg was overcooked, but it's hard to match the eggs at Miyako Ramen. Try the chicken karage as the chicken is some of the more unique ones I've had. The service was a tad slow, but overall the ambiance was great, and the staff was friendly. Tatsu Izakaya is a solid ramen shop to visit.

The takeout is as yummy as the dine in wahooooo! Don't you love that? Fresh sushi, delish potato croquettes, and pork katsu?! Happy Valentine's Day to us! What a treat!

Delish ramen; difficult parking. As with many places in the area, parking is challenging for this spot, but it's worth it! The ramen is flavorful and rich. Service is pretty friendly and fast. It was packed at lunch on a Saturday, so your best bet is to go during down times or when class isn't in session.

Tatsu Izakaya is a decent ramen joint that will satisfy your ramen cravings but it is not life changing. We dropped by on a Sunday for late lunch around 2pm and there were plenty of tables open. We started with the wontons in chili oil. They were ok, decent sized and had a nice bite to them. They chili oil was flavorful without being too spicy. I got the Shoyu Tonkatsu ramen and my husband got the Spicy Tatsu Ramen. Both broths were creamy and the spicy one actually came with two chicken skewers. The noodles were bouncy and chewy. The spicy ramen wasn't too spicy either. I added some of the spicy broth to my non-spiced ramen for a little kick. I enjoyed my bowl of ramen but I was not wowed.

Need to make reservation for this place on a weekend night. We did and were seated not long after arrival. Staff was courteous. Our waitress politely took our orders and another waiter helped her bring out the food. I ordered the chirashi for myself and ika for the whole table to share. The other members in my party ordered other items on the menu. Our waitress cleaned up the finished plates while we were eating so that the table wasn't too crowded. The place was pretty packed and had a medium level of conversational noise so you need to raise your voice a little to be heard when having a conversation with others at your table. Overall, I would go back again to try out the other items.

Love it! Came here for dinner, did family style with friends. The dishes in order of preference 1. Spicy donkatsu ramen - has a nice kick, rich broth 2. Katsu curry plate 3. Bloody hamachi roll 4. Salmon roll Service was great and friendly, and price came out to only $60 total, really good value! We were all stuffed as well. Would come back.

PHENOMENAL sushi!! This place was sooooo good and sooooo affordable for good quality sushi! I'm so impressed and so excited to go back I'm already craving it again! The restaurant was clean and welcoming and perfect for a fun date nigh or girls night. Service was great and everyone took care of us.

We love coming here for their tonkotsu ramen. It's garlicky, rich, and full of umami, perfect for a cold day. The chicken skewers are juicy and crispy on the outside, and the DU Bomb appetizer loaded with spicy tuna and crab meat is a must-try. True Izakaya vibes, fast-paced, busy, and always worth it.

Absolutely great food, totally loved it! I had Tatsu ramen, which was exactly what ramen should be. What's unique and I've never seen it anywhere - they have couple of chicken skewers in the bowl. My partner had a dragon roll and also loved it. The atmosphere is great and very cozy, especially on the chilly fall night we got there. And the service is very welcoming. 100% recommend and added to my bookmarks as the place to come back.

Came here on a snowy Friday evening because the ramen craving was unreal. Tastu did not let me down! We came around 5; it was busy but not jammed packed - that happened around 6. I was surprised how busy it was during a snowstorm and we were glad we came when we did. A large array of customers from college couples to large families, they clearly cater to all. We stuck with water so can't comment on the bevvies, but the food - yes, yum! We started with edamame, vegetable gyoza, and kimchi which were all spot on. I am a sucker for kimchi and could have eaten an entire massive bowl by myself. For our entrees, my husband had the Katsu Curry which while not the curry consistency he expected, it was very tasty. The chicken was perfect. I was craving ramen and went with Tan Tan and it hit the spot and then some. The decor was unique and interesting and service was friendly and efficient. Prices were fair and they had a decent selection of differing dishes. My only complaint was that I was unable to get my egg completely hardboiled instead of softboiled. Not a huge deal, but I'm currently pregnant and am not supposed to have eggs unless the yolk is entirely cooked. That aside, a wonderful spot and will absolutely come back!

We were staying in Cherry Creek and looked up Ramen places. Even though there were some nearer to our hotel, I looked up reviews and this place was highly recommended. We all ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and we all loved it! The pork had a lovely grill flavor and the egg was perfect because it wasn't to soy-saucy marinated. The noodles were classic and the bowl was huge! Service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere is welcoming and pretty typical of a ramen place. Highly recommend.

Uncle makes me want to move to Denver! To start the ambiance is really chill and inviting with warm lighting and offers countertop as well as table seating. Our server was amazing and explained the menu well and made some recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered way to much food but I do not regret that because I got to try so many amazing dishes. Despite ordering so many options they even brought us a chilled tofu dish complimentary (no clue why but not complaining) and it was lovely! We shared the uncle salad (amazing!), thai shrimp, eggplant buns, several different nigiri/aburi nigiri and sashimi and the toro toro and spicy tuna roll. All of the sushi was fresh and had excellent pairing of accompaniments. The only dish that I remember being a miss was the soft shell crab buns. The proportion of bun to interior was off and there was way too much mayo. Everyone got their own ramen which they seemed to love. I ordered the Veggie Khao Soi per our servers recommendation and I am still thinking about it weeks later. It was a curry/ramen mix and had big chunks of trumpet mushrooms in it and the perfect amount of spice that I love. Denverites I am jealous you have Uncle and anyone visiting make sure to add it to your list!

What a cute little place!!…read more It was late in the evening and I was getting hangry. I was craving ramen and Neko came up during my Yelp research. They were open late, so we decided to go. The restaurant was popping at 22:00 on a Friday. We were greeted warmly by staff. It was intriguing to us that we ordered via an iPad kiosk as if we were at a boba place, but we didn't mind. However, usually only to go orders are placed on a kiosk. In my hangry state of mind, I had not realized that Neko only serves their ramen with chicken broth, so for those of you who prefer tonkotsu broth, this isn't the place for you. For that reason, my husband had to order a chashu rice bowl instead. Personally, I enjoy both paitan and tonkotsu. I went with the black garlic ramen. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive. While we waited, we dispensed water for ourselves from the soda fountain. I was a little confused upon receiving my black garlic ramen, as I thought the black garlic oil would be more prominent. I was assured that I had the right bowl. My husband enjoyed his chashu rice bowl. I had a small bite and the pork was tender and well-seasoned. The paitan broth was very umami indeed. I would have liked to have more of a black garlic flavor, but it was still good. Next time I would just pay the extra $2 for more black garlic oil. The noodles were bouncy, and the chashu was tender. The egg was deliciously jammy (alas no photo because I devoured it). I saw they had soy sauce and hot sauce, but wish they had the classic chili powder so I could have added some to my ramen. Neko Ramen & Rice hit for late night noms, and the cat-themed decor all around (since Neko means cat in Japanese) was such a vibe. They also serve curry, poke, and various small bites if you want some apps to enjoy before your entrees. If you don't mind chicken broth for your ramen or will be ordering rice bowls instead, Neko is a fun little place to come dine at, especially since they open late.

Having been here multiple times, I cannot recommend this place enough for a homey style meal. No joke, each meal here makes you feel warm inside, like a good home cooked meal. It's comparable to many meals I've had traveling through out real Japan. The flavors are simple, but each dish is well prepared while emphasizing conform over fancy preparation. You just cannot go wrong with any dish here, though I'm partial to the donburi, the green tea soba, and the hot pot. And if the meal is not enough, there is a beautiful garden to enjoy.
