My sister isn't gonna know what hit her and neither am I! I got the apple sake and it had a beautiful sweetness akin to Amanda seyfrieds character in the hit film Dear John. I just came for a snack and boy did they deliver. I got the miso soup and you can meet really good wrong with that so let's leave it at that. I have been craving a seaweed salad and it was so refreshing. It came with some fresh cucumber and fresh tomato on top. I don't really f**k with either of those veggies but they're so pretty so they really enhanced my experience. Now on to the main snack. I got the spicy tuna crunch roll. The tuna was delicately cut, I could feel the chefs blade upon my tongue. I asked if there was anyway to make it spicier and my server graciously offered me some chili oil crunch and she was amazed by how much lava I was willing to pour into my digestive system. The sweetness from sake, umami from the miso, salty sea from the seaweed and spicy from the sushi created a paradoxical cacophony of bliss in this young boys heart. Despite solid a 4-star rating this sushi restaurant has been maintaining, I personally and fairly think that this is a 3-star restaurant. Just so you know, my yesterday's to-go/pick up experience went smoothly from placing an order online with no confusion to arriving at the restaurant 10 minutes before the pick up time I specified but my order had already been made and ready for a pick up and this kind lady smiling to welcome me with her super swift/prompt assistance to see if I wanted to sit down and eat or place a to-go order. She was also kind enough to ask me if I had utilized the restaurant before. Service is solid here (no doubt.) But for some reason, this didn't satisfy me. I guess in my mind, I was looking for "quality" sushi. Maybe I had very high expectations for this place based on the reviews (the past patrons left). Some said, "This roll was sooo good!" or "The tuna melted on my tongue!" or something along those lines. And I carefully picked the rolls and sushi/nigiris many others raved in their reviews. None of them impressed me to even 70% level. Sushi/nigiris and rolls were fairly small for their prices. Whereas the freshness of the fish was decent to the point where none of them tasted old but it wasn't exceptionally tasty or good either. I'm sounding like a snob here but my judgment is pretty fair (trust me, I am the least pickiest person when it comes to food; I have other foodie friends who are more rigid critics than I am.) The restaurant was clean/well-kept with a good number of tables. It's located in a walkable neighborhood. Will I return? Unless someone says he/she wants sushi and it has to be this place, maybe. I was really blown away by the food here! The rolls are so creative and so wonderfully fresh! The toro was melt-in-your-mouth with a little green chile on top, and cut skillfully. I ordered two special rolls, the Sweetheart roll- spicy scallop and mango topped with salmon and lemon wrapped in soy paper and the Fantasy roll- shrimp tempura, eel, avocado, tobiko, cream cheese, wrapped sesame soy paper and eel sauce. We go to Sushi Harbor with friends who have been regulars since the restaurant first opened! The owners always treat their long-time, dedicated patrons with such appreciation--they even bring drinks and an appetizer to the table before we order. The sushi is incredibly fresh and delicious. We've tried almost everything on the menu and loved it all. We usually visit around 4 PM on a weeknight, when it's low-key and relaxed, which we really enjoy. I have lived in the neighborhood since 2016 and never noticed Sushi Harbor. We finally visited and it was amazing. With all of the newer restaurants just north of here that are always packed and hard to park close, it was great to park in the lot and not have to wait for a table. I've been here a few times now and I have to say I'm impressed with the quality of the food. I've tried the steamed shumai, miso soup, spicy crab salad, seaweed salad and a handful of sushi rolls. Everything has been delicious and the service is prompt and attentive. Finding good quality sushi is tough especially a place that keeps it consistent. I live 30 mins away and it's worth the drive. The inside is pretty unassuming and casual but they offer a huge selection that you check off on paper to place your order - love that because it has all of the descriptions listed. The pictures here show the chili roll, bumble bee roll, Jacky roll and firecracker roll (in order from the back). The bumble bee is my favorite and the Jacky is a great basic roll that packs a punch of flavor. The bumble bee has mango which I don't traditionally love but it's subtle and pairs really well with the rest of the flavors. As other reviews have touched on, the staff is very inviting and friendly. We had gyoza for appetizers, which were fine, along with some sake. We ordered a few rolls plus fatty tuna sashimi. I'll touch on this first - it wasn't great. Living in California and having sushi in places like Hawaii and Vancouver, this was not worth it to us. As for the rolls, I like the creativity they have and all of them were good. I had no complaints about any of them. Although I feel like this place has good sushi and that is probably is one of the better places I've had in Colorado, it still falls short for a place I'd die to come back to or long for. Honestly, we were pretty blown away with this place. From the outside we were a little hesitant on actually ordering sushi until we stepped inside. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted and noticed how beautiful and clean the interior was. We were seated and then helped to read and understand the menu. We ordered a Angel Roll , Las Vegas Roll, the Boston Roll, and a California Roll. My review is that the angel roll was very flavorful and had the shrimp taste that we were looking for. The Boston Roll was really refreshing and very tasty when dipped in the wasabi soy sauce. My personal favorite is always the deep fried which in our mix was the Las Vegas Roll which was delicious and an explosion of flavor. Lastly, we really enjoyed the California Roll as always which I always like to use as a sort of palette cleanser between rolls. But always delicious when dipped in Sriracha! Overall we had a great experience from a friendly and quick staff. All the way down to the amazingly aesthetic and delicious sushi we were served! While the outside doesn't look like much, their interior is sleek, modern and features granite tables and booths, with a spacious bar top. Although we decided to order over the phone and pick up our meal, the space exuded confidence and class! The bar is fully stocked with wine, beer and liquor and offers specials throughout the day! Come one, come all! STAFF: Incredibly welcoming, friendly and so smiley! As soon as we entered, we were promptly greeted and asked if we wanted to dine in or take out. Our order was waiting for us upon arrival with all the necessary sauces, ginger and chopsticks! SUSHI: Seriously, SO GOOD. In navigating their extensive menu, we opted to try a variety of rolls - some traditional and some fancy! We ended up with the Crunch Spicy Scallop, Crunch Spicy Tuna, Jacky Roll and Dynamite Roll - all of which were fresh, perfectly crafted (yet I forgot to take pictures because I was so hungry!) and 100% delicious! The dynamite was our absolute favorite - fried yellowtail, eel, kani, avocado and topped with fresh spicy tuna - OH.MY.GOD! The seaweed salad was the perfect addition to the meal as it was crunchy, light, and very flavorful! SPECIALS: Prices are insanely reasonable for all you get! While there are lunch and dinner deals available, choosing rolls al a carte, proved to be cheaper in the long run! With the 4 rolls (total of 29 pieces) and seaweed salad, our total was just under $40! Hot damn! Talk about bang for your buck! Our server gave us 2 Nigiri/Sushi/Sashimi Paper Menus, and one TO-GO Menu which is in Paper Form that looks "used", which I found it a little puzzled with it. Hmmm.... Each Sushi/Sashimi items begins from $3.95 to Market Price, depending on what you order. The Basic Rolls are from $4.50 to $9.00. While the Special Rolls are from $12.95 to $13.50. Majority of the Special Rolls has Avocado in it. *SIGH* The Bento Lunch Box are from $8.50 to $8.95. These are the items we ordered : * Yellowtail Kama ($10.00) - Sushi Bar Appetizers * Yellowtail Nigiri ($5.00) * Smoked Salmon ($5.00) * White Tuna ($5.00) * Osaka Roll ($13.50) While I opt for these items for my Lunch : * Wasabi Tobiko ($5.00) * Spicy Scallop ($5.50) * Spicy Lobster ($7.00) * Sweet Raw Shrimp - Amaebi ($8.00) * Unagi Nigiri ($5.00) We were given Complimentary Salad, primarily it was Lettuce with somekind of dressing in which seems familiar, but I am NOT So sure about it. Hmm, my bad, next time, definitely I'll ask the Server. Initially I opt to have Uni (Sea Urchin), but our Server said that they Were OUT of Uni. A bummer that they RAN OUT of Uni, that afternoon. *Sad Face* The service is prompt. But somehow, during service, at first, 2 items in our Nigiri/Sushi order got mixed up, aka it was DIFFERENT from what we initially ordered thru the Paper Menu, and our server rectified the problem by giving us the correct order aka Correct Nigiri/Sushi. I cannot recall what actually Frances had, coz all the Nigiri/Sushi all look the same except the Smoked Salmon at her plate. As for mine, at first they gave me the Normal Tobiko, in which from my Paper Menu, I opt to have Wasabi Tobiko. Yes, the Yellowtail Kama, came out hot aka they either "fried" or flash-fried the Yellowtail Kama. Its OK, though this fish can get a little fishy for some. My order of Unagi, was overly sweet due to the Sweet Dark Sauce, aka the glaze, that they brush the Unagi aka Unagi Sauce. Hence THIS Indeed affected the taste of the Unagi Nigiri itself. As for the Sweet Raw Shrimp, this is yet another establishment, that embedded the FRIED SHRIMP HEADS with Sushi Rice and drizzled it with the Sweet Dark Sauce. Why Oh Why?? Err, the next time around, I would ask them, if I can have my FRIED SHRIMP HEADS, just FRIED, WITHOUT The Sauce. Frances also ordered the Hot Green Tea ($1.75), while I just opt for water. Our server periodically come to our table, and re-fill our beverages. At the end of our Late Lunch, we each ordered the Mochi Ice Cream. Each Mochi order was $4.50. It comes with your options of 2 Different Flavors. Frances had the Green Tea and Strawberry, while I opt to have the Mango and Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream. All in all Decent Sushi. To Go Back, its a "MAYBE", if I am in the neighborhood and perhaps from there my review might differ. The Server that afternoon his name is Tom. From the conversation we had, he comes from Indonesia.
