Great great spot! It's kind of hidden in a small plaza in a neighborhood, but those are the best! Ample parking and they have happy hour! Since it was our first time, we missed it....next time! The interior wasn't too bright, which gave it a nice ambiance. There weren't many people (surprisingly since it was happy hour time), but the service was a tad slow. It took a while for them to take our orders and realized that it was just one waitress working. The entrees seemed like forever (maybe I was realllllly hungry), but when it came all worries went away. The Tokyo roll was phenomenal! The fish was fresh and it just didn't have any extras on it. Just fish and rice! Yum! The yellowtail jalapeno roll was pretty basic, but still delicious. I loved the small hint of spiciness (could've been a little more for me), and just yellowtail. I love that it wasn't packed with rice and less fish. I appreciate that! That was more than enough food!! Thank goodness I didn't order more! My boyfriend ordered his usuals, PA roll and salmon roll - boooooring! lol jk. He makes everything easier. Will definitely come back for happy hour and just come back in general!! xx

Yet again, Kassai delivers an amazing dinner experience. We've never been disappointed by food or service. They have killer quality and it is so refreshing to come back to a staple and know you'll get what you're expecting. I will forever be convinced that the only reason this place isn't absolutely packeddd is because of location being off the beaten path. Quality, price, service 10/10

Came in for our first visit. Parking spaces should be available most times of the week. Not too busy on a Saturday night. The food was good. They almost met my expectations of amazing. The service was the same. Good versus amazing. The ambiance was chill with the vibe inside. At one point someone was cleaning with some very strong smelling chemicals. Talk about a scent you do not want to smell while enjoying dinner. We may come back for more in the future. But most likely will only visit a couple times a year. I have higher expectations when spending $100 bucks with tip.

Lexi & I went here last night for a sushi date! And like usual it didn't disappoint! The Mexico roll is my favorite and I will get it every time. The gyozas were crispy and flavorful! Lexi loves salmon so she always gets a roll that has salmon and of course the salmon nigiri! Our server was excellent! She was nice, and attentive! Anytime we need sushi this is our favorite spot that isn't too expensive! Dan & Lexi

Doordash review for Kassai. Honestly the sushi was decent for the area. I know sushi generally more $$$ than other cuisine but I did feel like for a $50 meal (3 rolls), the size of the rolls and quality of the fish could have been better. I did not like the jazz roll as the black pepper taste did not mesh well with the tuna. The other rolls were decent, but nothing mind blowing. I also think they were using overcooked rice cause some of the rice in the rolls were crunchy af. Wished my to go order came with complimentary miso soup or house salad, but I might have been spoiled by sushi establishments back at home.

I ordered a teriyaki salmon bento box. The soup and salad was good. The California roll was good. But the piece of salmon was really small and over cooked. And the yakitori was inedible. It was so overcooked, I had to throw it away. I will try the restaurant again one day since it's near my workplace.

I gave them another go and happily increase my stars to 5/5! Ordered off DoorDash on a Tuesday night and my food was ready & delivered quickly. They put a cardboard box under the sushi container in the brown paper bag in came in to ensure the sushi stayed nice and intact. Very thoughtful! I tried 2 new sushis from my last visit, and was happy to see they were much bigger than before. In the attached photo I had transferred the sushi to a platter so you can see the ingredients better. MIA roll (left) - shrimp tempura, cream cheese, jalapeño, topped with spicy tuna. Not too much cream cheese, generous amount of spicy tuna. Jalapeño gives it a nice crunch and punch! New York roll (right) - tuna, avocado, topped with salmon So good! Can't wait to order again.

This place is delicious and has a very chill vibe. Plus I checked in on Yelp (my first time ever) and I got a free sake! Score! The fish tasted fresh and the service was good. It wasn't overly crowded which is hard to come by in Denver these days. For sushi prices it was reasonable; looks like I have a new go-to spot!

You order off the menu with an erasable pen which is very smart. Many Japanese restaurants (especially when ordering sashimi, nigiri, rolls) use a ton of paper for their orders. We did have a waitress but the staff helps one another running drinks and food. The food was very good, fresh and I'd definitely go back. My suggestions would be bringing the dishes out over time. We received almost everything at once and the table was very full. The bathrooms are part of Stanley and are fine. They are usually clean. The parking is shared with all the Stanley Marketplace so it depends on time/day as to how easy or hard it is to find a space.

What a cute little place!!…read more It was late in the evening and I was getting hangry. I was craving ramen and Neko came up during my Yelp research. They were open late, so we decided to go. The restaurant was popping at 22:00 on a Friday. We were greeted warmly by staff. It was intriguing to us that we ordered via an iPad kiosk as if we were at a boba place, but we didn't mind. However, usually only to go orders are placed on a kiosk. In my hangry state of mind, I had not realized that Neko only serves their ramen with chicken broth, so for those of you who prefer tonkotsu broth, this isn't the place for you. For that reason, my husband had to order a chashu rice bowl instead. Personally, I enjoy both paitan and tonkotsu. I went with the black garlic ramen. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive. While we waited, we dispensed water for ourselves from the soda fountain. I was a little confused upon receiving my black garlic ramen, as I thought the black garlic oil would be more prominent. I was assured that I had the right bowl. My husband enjoyed his chashu rice bowl. I had a small bite and the pork was tender and well-seasoned. The paitan broth was very umami indeed. I would have liked to have more of a black garlic flavor, but it was still good. Next time I would just pay the extra $2 for more black garlic oil. The noodles were bouncy, and the chashu was tender. The egg was deliciously jammy (alas no photo because I devoured it). I saw they had soy sauce and hot sauce, but wish they had the classic chili powder so I could have added some to my ramen. Neko Ramen & Rice hit for late night noms, and the cat-themed decor all around (since Neko means cat in Japanese) was such a vibe. They also serve curry, poke, and various small bites if you want some apps to enjoy before your entrees. If you don't mind chicken broth for your ramen or will be ordering rice bowls instead, Neko is a fun little place to come dine at, especially since they open late.

The restaurant sits on the corner right off Colfax, and it's kind of easy to miss, but it's nice. They do have their own parking lot, which is helpful since Colfax parking can be hectic. Inside, the restaurant is quite small but nicely decorated and has a cozy feel. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The restaurant was very quiet there was only one other table besides us, yet the service felt very scattered. The server was kind but wasn't necessarily on top of things. For an appetizer, I ordered the tuna tartare. Although the portion was nice, it wasn't served with any chips or anything, which I thought was quite odd. It did have good flavor, but eating tuna tartare with a fork wasn't what I expected. I ordered the sashimi sampler and was quite disappointed, not only with the size of the fish but also because they served three different types of tuna. For a sashimi sampler priced at almost $40, that seemed crazy. Usually there's red snapper, yellowtail, or something other than just tuna. My boyfriend ordered the tankatsu, and it had no flavor and was very dry. I told myself I'll have to go back and give this place another try because I had high hopes, especially since their other restaurant never disappoints.

You won't find fancy sushi here or fusion cooking here, but rather tasty home cooked style classic Japanese dishes. Dishes like Japanese curry, oyakodon, and other donburi and noodle dishes. Having been here multiple times, I cannot recommend this place enough for a homey style meal. No joke, each meal here makes you feel warm inside, like a good home cooked meal. It's comparable to many meals I've had traveling through out real Japan. The flavors are simple, but each dish is well prepared while emphasizing conform over fancy preparation. You just cannot go wrong with any dish here, though I'm partial to the donburi, the green tea soba, and the hot pot. And if the meal is not enough, there is a beautiful garden to enjoy. If you catch it at the right time, the cherry blossom in the spring is beautiful and transport you right to Japan. Overall, Domo is a place that I'm always down to visit. The cucumber salad was refreshing, but the shrimp shumai had a strong fishy smell and taste that didn't seem very fresh--I couldn't eat more than one. For my entrée, I ordered the nabeyaki soup with ramen noodles and chicken, and it was excellent. The soy-based broth was rich and flavorful without being too salty, and the ramen noodles were cooked perfectly--tender with just the right amount of bite. Overall, Domo offers a really special atmosphere and a memorable dining experience. Considering the only other US location is in California, I was surprised and knew this would be my opportunity to try it! The aesthetic is modern & elevated with Japanese wooden features. I got 3 classic dishes which was just the right amount of food. I honestly recommend coming with a group to try more items since you know everything will be delicious. The Yellowtail Jalapeño is a signature dish; the yellowtail was delicate & buttery and the citrus soy with the bight of jalapeño made each bite clean, bright, with some subtle heat. I did not expect the Rock Shrimp Tempura to be that good! The shrimp was lightly battered & fried but the sauces were the highlights! Their creamy spicy is a very well-done spicy mayo but the butter ponzu was unreal! Super addictive, rich, and unlike any sauce I've had before. Shout out to my waitress for suggesting getting both sauces on the side rather than lathered on the shrimp, which also kept it crispy. Last but certainly not least is the famous Black Cod! The fish is super buttery and flaky; there were some caramelized edges from the miso glaze which added so much depth & richness to the bite. It's a good balance of sweetness, savoriness, umami that is bound to be good. Some of courses were delicious and some were mediocre. We spent almost $700 for a party of four. The situation that needs the most improvement was the pace of the meal. The courses were separated by a 20-30-minute wait time. Considering that the courses were very small and contained 5-6 pieces for a party of four... that equates to a little more than a small bite every 20-30 minutes. The dinner took 2.5 hours to develop, and we were honestly still hungry by the end. The waiter started asking us if were "still hungry" at about the fifth courses. By the end, we felt awkward in asking for more. The wagyu beef was particularly disappointing as the beef was somewhat chewy, lacking taste and small. Waiters seemed to be near their capacity of workload. Didn't really take the time to serve, walk you thru the menus, keep the service moving or even gauge your level of satisfaction. We ordered dessert to celebrate the birthday. Apart from a small chocolate plaque on the dessert that said, "happy birthday", there was no attempt to celebrate the occasion as other less exclusive restaurants do... no "happy birthday" wish, no courtesy dessert... nothing special. The best part of this meal was by far, the young couple that accompanied us. Friendly advice: if you want to impress a client with something the feels exclusive... this may be the place. If you are looking for amazing food, being pampered and feeling your money was "well spent", try another place. I don't plan to visit this restaurant soon.
