    Bao Buns Chilled Noodle Bowl

Probably the best chilled noodle bowl I've ever had. Super refreshing. Lemonade soda was amazing as well!

We got 2 separate recs for this place so decided to do our last lunch in Denver here. You walk down a small alley to get to the "front" of the restaurant that leads you to a nice patio, and the indoor seating. The patio was an enjoyable setting for a tasty meal, and our server was attentive and efficient. We got the veggie gyoza to start which were fried crisp with good flavor. Had whole edamame inside in addition to the other vegetables. The dipping sauce complimented the flavors of the gyoza and was light and not too salty or sweet. We then each had a bowl of ramen. My partner had the veggie ramen with the house made chili sauce, which, was maybe some of the better chili sauce I've ever had. There was a note on the menu that it contained fish sauce, I never would have thought to put fish sauce into a sambal style chili sauce but it was SO GOOD! It was also pretty spicy, not for meek tastebuds or tummies. The ramen was also quite good I was surprised at how flavorful the fully vegetarian broth was. I had never seen a dashi broth on a ramen menu, but dashi is one of my favorite Japanese flavors (I have had many a heartbreak at New Orleans sushi restaurants who put agedashi tofu on the menu and then serve me tofu with no sauce, but I digress). So I had to get it, it was advertised as spicy and definitely has some good kick, but when I tell you I want to drink that dashi broth from a mug daily, it was finish the bowl even though you are beyond full and unsure if you'll be able to move-good. The chicken was also very flavorful and delicately cooked, I added bamboo shoots because I miss that texture when it's not in my ramen. There were 2 things that I thought could be different that would have made the ramen just a notch higher on my list. I would add seaweed, which I didn't see as listed on the menu as an option. The other thing was the consistency of the noodles, which was dense and well cooked, but not chewy enough. I don't know if that's the right descriptor but I just bit through them a little more easily than I would have liked. Still worth the visit!!

This spot is tucked away down an alley, which gives it a really cool and cozy 'hidden' atmosphere. We stopped in for a bite and tried the Chicken Karaage. It wasn't amazing, but the chicken had a small crunch to it and the sauces were decent. Service was casual and friendly, making it a nice place for a low-key meal.

Genuinely hard to (physically) find this place, it's tucked away in the back of a building and you have to go down a small alley to get there but daaaaaang it's so good. We got the fried gyoza, and We each got a ramen plus a bottle of wine and it was like $75. Seriously not too pricey at all. Before you stop reading, please understand that the sesame pork belly ramen is probably the best ramen I have ever had. I almost always get a spicy ramen but this time I got the sesame pork belly and I don't think I've ever had a ramen so flavorful. The pork belly was cooked to absolute perfect and the broth was unbelievably flavorful. Please get this dish. The spicy dashi ramen is good! But nothing to write home about. It's definitely spicy and the broth is a little thin, again it's good, just not as good as the sesame pork belly. The fried gyoza were incredible. We're typically more into steamed gyoza but they only had fried and I gotta admit it was great! It wasn't too bready, it was super thing and crispy! Everything came out super quickly and the servers were polite and helpful when picking items!

Cute place in the alleyway. I got the sesame pork belly ramen. It was good but nothing special compared to meals I've had before. The garlic rice was good not great as well. We got it with pork belly. The service was fast and good.

This was the first restaurant I visited upon arriving in Colorado, and it exceeded my expectations. Although it's a small establishment, the ambiance is incredibly cozy, making it a perfect spot to relax. The service was outstanding, with attentive staff who made us feel welcome. We ordered a variety of dishes, including fried gyoza, bao buns, flavorful ramen, and Thai iced tea. Each item was delicious and bursting with taste. I would definitely return and order everything again.

I had such a lovely experience! I went on a Wednesday around 5ish & my friend & I were sat right away. Everything we ordered was a hit. My friend & I split an order of the pork belly bao buns & I have to say.. I haven't had such a decadent bao bun in a really long time. And in the words of my friend, "this is the best ramen I've ever had." Aside from the food, what really got me was the service. The 2 ladies that helped us were incredible & came through with the greatest recommendations. Such a lovely little spot. A must try!

We love coming here - it's a sneaky hole in the wall storefront in west highlands but the food is incredible. We always get the pork belly black sesame ramen and pair with duck bao buns or fried gyoza. The ambiance is super casual but the service is always so fast! Excited to try more from this place!

This place is really cute, I didn't see any options for making reservations only so thank fully the wait was not too long. We came around 7:30 on a Saturday and waited less than 10 minutes. The servers were all super friendly, they were very attentive and always letting us know that they would get us seated soon. I like the variety in the types of ramen on the menu. The flavorsome is a much lighter ramen than the sesame pork and not the type of ramen broth that I am used to but it was really good. Super meaty tasting broth. The sesame pork ramen was also good, the pork belly was very well seasoned and the flavors were balanced. The bao buns were pretty standard, the sauce was over powering but flavors were still good. Nothing crazy. I liked the ratio of broth to noodle and I like that things were not too salty! The noodles also have a very good chew. I give it a 4/5 because they only give you have an egg and the egg is not marinated at all, just a plain boiled egg. It was $17 per bowl of ramen which is on the more expensive end.

This place is located at the heart of highland. There's no parking lot so go for street parking around the neighborhood. The entrance of this place is actually at the back alley, and it has a cute little patio surrounded by plants. I like the idea that it's a hidden spot, but unfortunately, the food quality is just below my expectation To start, we ordered a chicken Karaage . It's great with their hot sauce. The real disappointment came with the entrées. We ordered a signature Ramen and a Korean beef rice bowl. The Ramen was neither authentic, nor delicious. The pork in it looks minced and simply stirfried to put on top of the Ramen - this is not traditional and does not add any good flavor to the noodle, which more looks like a shortcut to me. There's no umami flavor of bone broth in the soup, just tastes heavy. I prefer the traditional way of either braised pork or beef, or the Chashu pork belly. The Korean beef, rice ball came with a very small portion of beef. Again, disappointment. Service was very friendly, and when we came here on Saturday during peak lunch hour it was empty so we got served pretty fast and a small space has a charm of intimacy. However I will not consider coming back.

Second time visiting Denver from Los Angeles and this was such a lucky find for my wife and I. The ramen game in SoCal tends to set a high-ish bar for quality so my expectations are usually low but Sera's blew those out of the water with delicate but rich broth, thick and chewy noodles, and chashu tasty enough to satisfy my nagging craving for Japanese quality protein. The service was simple and polite with a genuine aura which should be the normal in my opinion. The interior is small with splashes of art here and there but it's not my favorite. The Nezuko curtain is a plus though! We took an Uber but the parking didn't seem terrible and is mainly street with a small plaza across so I don't see a probably outside of peak evening hours. Overall if you love ramen you NEED to come here! The fusion with Vietnamese flavors is the cherry on top. I recommend the Saigon curry and my wife loved the Sesame Porkbelly. I tried both and if you're torn!

First time trying this place for my husband's birthday yesterday and wow!! There was so much flavor and freshness in every bite. Our waitress was super knowledgeable on the foods and attentive to my allergies!!! One thing I loved a lot is that you have to walk down an alleyway and it's super cool !!! I recommend this place we will be back!!!

I visited for the first time and got the vegan ramen and veggie gyoza. Both were fantastic! The alleyway entrance was very charming and it had a nice lowkey atmosphere too. Will definitely be coming back!

Even the simpler dishes feel deliberate, which isn't always the case with izakaya-style menus. The atmosphere hits a nice balance: lively without being chaotic, cozy without feeling cramped. It works just as well for a casual dinner as it does for lingering over drinks. Speaking of drinks, the sake and Japanese whiskey selection is thoughtful and well-paired to the food. Uncle makes me want to move to Denver! To start the ambiance is really chill and inviting with warm lighting and offers countertop as well as table seating. We ordered way to much food but I do not regret that because I got to try so many amazing dishes. Despite ordering so many options they even brought us a chilled tofu dish complimentary (no clue why but not complaining) and it was lovely! We shared the uncle salad (amazing!), thai shrimp, eggplant buns, several different nigiri/aburi nigiri and sashimi and the toro toro and spicy tuna roll. All of the sushi was fresh and had excellent pairing of accompaniments. The only dish that I remember being a miss was the soft shell crab buns. The proportion of bun to interior was off and there was way too much mayo. Everyone got their own ramen which they seemed to love. I ordered the Veggie Khao Soi per our servers recommendation and I am still thinking about it weeks later. It was a curry/ramen mix and had big chunks of trumpet mushrooms in it and the perfect amount of spice that I love. The restaurant was popping at 22:00 on a Friday. We were greeted warmly by staff. It was intriguing to us that we ordered via an iPad kiosk as if we were at a boba place, but we didn't mind. However, usually only to go orders are placed on a kiosk. In my hangry state of mind, I had not realized that Neko only serves their ramen with chicken broth, so for those of you who prefer tonkotsu broth, this isn't the place for you. For that reason, my husband had to order a chashu rice bowl instead. Personally, I enjoy both paitan and tonkotsu. I went with the black garlic ramen. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive. While we waited, we dispensed water for ourselves from the soda fountain. I was a little confused upon receiving my black garlic ramen, as I thought the black garlic oil would be more prominent. I was assured that I had the right bowl. My husband enjoyed his chashu rice bowl. I had a small bite and the pork was tender and well-seasoned. The paitan broth was very umami indeed. I would have liked to have more of a black garlic flavor, but it was still good. Next time I would just pay the extra $2 for more black garlic oil. The noodles were bouncy, and the chashu was tender. The egg was deliciously jammy (alas no photo because I devoured it). I saw they had soy sauce and hot sauce, but wish they had the classic chili powder so I could have added some to my ramen. Neko Ramen & Rice hit for late night noms, and the cat-themed decor all around (since Neko means cat in Japanese) was such a vibe. They also serve curry, poke, and various small bites if you want some apps to enjoy before your entrees. If you don't mind chicken broth for your ramen or will be ordering rice bowls instead, Neko is a fun little place to come dine at, especially since they open late.

You won't find fancy sushi here or fusion cooking here, but rather tasty home cooked style classic Japanese dishes. Dishes like Japanese curry, oyakodon, and other donburi and noodle dishes. Having been here multiple times, I cannot recommend this place enough for a homey style meal. No joke, each meal here makes you feel warm inside, like a good home cooked meal. It's comparable to many meals I've had traveling through out real Japan. The flavors are simple, but each dish is well prepared while emphasizing conform over fancy preparation. You just cannot go wrong with any dish here, though I'm partial to the donburi, the green tea soba, and the hot pot. And if the meal is not enough, there is a beautiful garden to enjoy. If you catch it at the right time, the cherry blossom in the spring is beautiful and transport you right to Japan. Overall, Domo is a place that I'm always down to visit. I wouldn't recommend the shrimp shumai, but I'd definitely come back to try another ramen flavor, and to see the cats again.
