Stopped in today as I had a craving for noodles service was spot on ( I was the only person in the joint) never the less my server was sweet and fast , 2 things I enjoy .. Had a beer and the tempura Noodle dish ( forgot the name) and a tasty Japanese beer
Stopped by for dinner at Menya, got the tonkotsu ramen with extra pork belly. Decent ramen with hot soup that was flavorful. We also ordered the spicy tuna on crispy rice and goyza. The server delivered the food quickly and was friendly. The restaurant allows for many diners to eat in. The place is not too loud when I was there with some friends. Good place to try when visiting downtown Denver.
Delicious food! The spicy edamame were v spicy! The poke bowl was flavorful and fresh. The staff are patient but not the friendliest. Do note- they are unable to split the check for larger parties.
Overall, this place was good. We wanted to try several of their dishes, to get a better opinion on their selections. The crab croquettes and shrimp tempura was delicious, and very filling. We didn't like the chicken Karage or Tako yaki. The Karage was a bit bland and the Tako yaki had a small piece of squid in it. We though we were going to get a little more than that. The ramen's broth was spicy but I couldn't really taste anything other than that. The meat in the ramen was really good but that's about it. I wished I ordered the tonkatsu instead. The restaurant was very clean but there is a smell to it. It went away on e we got our food but quickly came back when we finished. The bathrooms are secure and clean. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. For its location, it's a good spot to drop on by and grab some food. I would've been better for us to grab ola few of their appetizers and snacked on them, while we walked 16th Street Mall.
Oh my goodness! My veggie ramen with fried tofu... no words! Piping hot, healing, refreshing. I walked out of Menya feeling energized & replenished! Just knowing we have cold days ahead, I will be going out of my way to come back for this soup! Many times. Service was wonderful and very tentative! I tend to drink a lot of water & was never left wanting more. For a veggie soup, this was very creamy and felt indulgent for all of my *treat yourself* friends! I ordered a decaf plum tea to go with my hot ramen and it all was just the experience I needed to feel rejuvenated. I'll be back soon! Thanks, Menya!
I ordered their Menya Special, which is their Tonkotsu, and some gyoza. The broth was pretty tasty. I prefer my noodles thicker and on the chewier side, but it was still tasty. Their gyoza is yummy.
Tried this place out for lunch while exploring the area and got their build your own poke bowl with spicy chicken, white rice, cucumber, corn, edamame. Food came out quickly and had good portion sizing, but didn't deliver on the flavor like I had hoped. It was still decent food like a 3.5/5 with a nice spacious ambiance, but rounded down as there are many better 4 star comparisons for me.
I love coming here after class because it is a quick walk if I'm ever craving noodles. It is located on 16th street and because the weather was super nice today me and my friend decided to sit outdoors. I usually get the udon because it's nice and light and typically hits the spot. It's definitely not my favorite spot to get ramen or noodles but it is definitely good for what it is and the location is super convenient. The servers are always super nice and even though we were one of the only tables outside our server made sure that we were taken care of.
The service was fine at this casual noodle bar but the food didn't impress us, and particularly the mediocre shrimp tempura didn't have much taste and the pork in the tonkotsu was really chewy (though the broth was rich). There's lots of tables and the noise level isn't too high...both good. So, maybe it was an off night for Menya.
First time in Denver since the early 2000s. Was pleasantly surprised with the extensive pedestrian zone on 16th Street. Menya Noodle Bar has a prime location in the heart of the pedestrian zone close to accommodations and local activities. With such competition, they stand out for great service and delicious flavors. My party of three enjoyed the poke bowl and ramen selections. Portions were generous, so bring your appetite.
Very good ramen spot on 16th street mall. Service was good but a bit slow on a busy Friday night. I like that they offer a few vegetarian ramen choices, and their meat/seafood ramen selection is quite expansive. We had the bulgogi bun appetizer and some kimchi to start and both were great! I'd happily return as long as I'm not in a hurry to get in and out.
Solid ramen spot they have a good assortment of Japanese offerings not limited to ramen and noodles despite the same. Service was cordial and prompt, food came out really quick, almost felt like they knew what I was going to order. I liked my black garlic ramen but it felt like it could use more spice. My colleague had the standard one and he liked it, said it was the balance of salt and savory was on point. If you close your eyes and open them in the restaurant just for a second you may just think that you're on the edge of shinjuku.

We walk by this place on our walks down 16th street all the time and have never gone. Stopped in randomly. Got spicy chicken ramen and spicy edamame! Really good, spicy!!!!! food came out super quick and has tons of flavor read more
After a full day of wondering Denver, we wanted something simple and close by as we were walking along 16th Street. Noodles are a regular fixture when we want a quick fix and our version of fast food. With plenty of seating on this Monday evening, our party of three were seated immediately. Menus and water arrived shortly and we perused the menu. They have a decent selection of ramen, udon, soup noodles, stir-fry noodles, rice bowls, and poke bowls. They also have a few izakaya options perfect for sharing. * Black Tonkotsu $18 - The Little Guy got this and slurped the whole thing up, even the wood ear mushrooms which he usually leaves behind. He actually asked to return the next day because he loved it so much and just loved it. 5/5 * Menya Special $16.50 - I got this one and it was fine. Although I think I was a bit jealous as the Black Tonkotsu looked like it had different kind of noodles. The egg was perfectly cooked. 4/5 * Udon $16.50 - The Little Gal had this as she is a fan of udon any day. She ate pretty much the whole thing herself. Overall, Menya Noodle Bar served its purpose. It's a no-frills kind of place in a prime location. read more
Had a good lunch at Menya (it has been a while since I've been in the area) the noodles were delicious and the portion generous. The service was fast & friendly at the front end of the lunchtime rush. The vibe is casual; nice, but nothing fancy. read more

I came here for lunch during a work conference in Denver and it was amazing. My meal came out rather quickly and the server was very attentive. My ramen was the perfect level of spicy and just what I was craving! read more

Was looking for something soupy in downtown Denver and found ok tasting ramen here. Server was nice but took a while for food to come out. The ramen is a bit pricy for a bowl. The tantan ramen had a good peanut flavor base but the ramen noodles tasted like the packaged instant ramen. Decent place if you are craving ramen since there aren't much stores in this area for ramen but nothing spectacular. read more
Very busy lunch a weekday lunch. Food comes out quickly. It's a beautiful snowy so something like ramen was perfect. The chicken karaage was a great size. The bao buns were okay. The ramen broth was good at first, but it got really salty as I was eating it. The texture of the noodles was fine. Overall it was an okay ramen place me. read more
3.5 to be precise! The tan tan noodles and red oil dumplings were good everything else was very mediocre. The kimchi rice was alright, I wished it had more kimchi to it.. the bao bun was alright, we got the shrimp bao. The one thing I was very disappointed about was the pricing,for example $8 for a single bao is expensive. I felt as though everything was on the steeper side considering the quality of food we got and that this is not a fine dine. Avoid the drinks here.. I got the matcha strawberry and it was nothing special about it, very syrupy. Service was alright. read more

No complaints on any of the soups. We tried a spicy miso, black tonkatsu and Niku Udon. It's a good spot for a quick meal with lots of options. The ramen had plenty of meat. I kept finding more throughout. Good chew on the noodle. The karage was okay, I can't quite nail what I didn't like about it but it had a good crisp. Great service and a good casual ambiance. read more

Went here on a whim because it was close to my friend's place. We walked in during lunch time and were seated immediately. They had a good amount of food on the menu but I went with a special they had that day. The ramen was ok. There were way too many spinach leaves and other ingredients. My friend had a different bowl and I would say his was better. There is no outside seating but the inside is nice and clean. I don't know if I'd ever go back for ramen specifically but maybe for something else. read more

Decent ramen place. Not the most authentic or best ramen I've had, but satisfied my craving at the time. Good range of apps. We got Takoyaki, fried pork dumplings, aged tofu and shumai. All were good. My friends who were new to many of these liked them. My ramen was rich and flavorful. If you like spicy food, ask for the chili powder and add to your taste. Good variety of Japanese drinks as well- both alcoholic and non-alcoholic like Ramu soda, which is fun! Good hangout spot for casual dining, e.g. dinner after work. read more

For a Denver ramen shop downtown, this place was decent. I've tried their small shop in greenwood village and liked their curry udon. But wasn't impressed by their limited menu there. Now being at their main location, I was so excited by all the options. I got the spicy miso ramen with charsiu. We also got the menya special which was like a charsiu ramen in a clear pork broth. The spicy miso was really good. Packed with a savory broth. Loved the miso ratio. The charsiu was nice and fatty. And the noodles were so tasty and aldente. Cooked perfectly to my taste. I tried the menya special. Same delicious charsiu. But the broth was lacking. I think I was expecting more of a tonkatsu. That wasn't it. The clear broth tasted more vegetable based. Not as mouth coating as I'd like it to be. Overall it was good. I'm sticking to my go to ramen for now. The location is a bit too out of the way for me (perfect for that downtown evening if you're around!). read more
The food and service are very good here. Everything comes quickly and hot. We ordered a lot and our favorites were the crispy tuna ($15.00 for 4 pieces) on the tapas menu, and the creamy Yasai noodle bowl ($15.00, not pictured) which is big enough to share of you are getting appetizers. I didn't care for the Tako Yaki (octopus appetizer) which looked gorgeous but tasted like hot dogs and mayo. The bulgolgi wrap was really messy to eat and required an immediate trip to the restroom to cleanse the hands. I didn't like the julienned pickled ginger on the Yaki Soba dish (which was also big enough to share, but doesn't come with a protein). read more

I ordered the Black Tonkotsu and it was better than i expected! Very flavorful and a nice size bowl! It comes with pork but i ordered chicken and chicken was SO tender. Service was quick! The vibe is like a local spot, nothing special about the atmosphere but i came for a good dish so i was satisfied. I highly recommend. read more

Our party of 3 walked in for lunch and we were quickly seated. The staff was friendly and service was quick. I opted for the spicy miso pork ramen with a plum iced tea. The tea reminded me of Korean Green Plum Tea (i didn't ask if it was, so I am not sure). In my opinion, it was a bit more tart than other maesil I've had, but still very tasty (the sweetness balanced the spicy ramen so well). The ramen was fantastic -- I am not a huge ramen person, but it was the best ramen I've ever had. It featured a hearty miso broth with a healthy portion of protein and bean sprouts. I was expecting the broth to be spicier than it was, but it was good nonetheless. Overall, it could have benefited from more veggies, but I was still very happy with the portion sizes and flavors. read more
