Employees were friendly and food came out quickly. The pho was okay. The soup was lukewarm. And in one of the pho dishes there was 2 small pieces of styrofoam floating. The person who had that dish didn't want to make a big deal and just fished out the styrofoam.
Whoever called WtP a Phở Speakeasy was right on the money... gave me a solid laugh - the food itself is pretty dern good. [5] The ambiance is (candidly) a bit odd - it's a spot off of a lobby within a building in the Central Business District (CBD) of Denver. [3] (I know, there's a pun there...) There's a wait, wha? ...feel to things inside; no matter... The way things are arranged inside, it seems they might do a good deal of Door Dash business. The service is hit-or-miss TBH, they don't seem to be pleased you're there [2] :/ Regardless, I'm a semi-regular
What the Pho is somewhat of a hole in the wall, with a small, discreet sign outside that could be somwhat easy to miss. Once you enter the building, you have to walk a little farther inside before you actually reach the restaurant. Once there, though, it has a good amount of seating and a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered two medium bowls of pho since there was only about a $1 difference between the small and medium. For reference, the large is in fact LARGE, so choose accordingly. I had the vegetarian pho, and fair warning, the broth has a spicy base. If you cannot tolerate spice, this may not be the one for you since that is the only way the broth is prepared. Personally, I really enjoyed it. The broth had a nice, light heat with plenty of flavor, and it paired really well with all the vegetables. I also liked how the tofu was prepared, which gave the bowl a little more texture. On a slightly rainy day in Denver, it was exactly the kind of meal that warms you right up. My friend ordered the beef pho and had no complaints. They also brought out the traditional plate of pho additions with bean sprouts, basil, cilantro, jalapeño slices, and lime, so you can customize your bowl to your liking. We also ordered the crab wontons as an appetizer. They were okay. The cream cheese was definitely the dominant flavor, and I would have liked a little more of the crab and other flavors to come through. The menu has a great variety of options beyond pho, so there is plenty to choose from. The restaurant was clean, the service was fast; there was a decent amount of diners while we were there, and the overall vibe was chill and good for conversation.
I am from Houston, Texas where we are known for the plethora of food. If the food isn't up to par, it will not survive. Let's just say that if this restaurant was in Houston, it wouldn't last very long. I am also Vietnamese, so I know what the flavors should taste like, and I was very disappointed in the dishes. Service: Quick and the waitresses were sweet. Price: It seems pricey compared to Houston, but when compared to other restaurants in the surrounding Denver area, it is very reasonable. Also, the portions are huge with a lot of meat. Thus, the price point is justified. Grilled chicken salad: I was pleased to know that they offered this because I've never seen this offered. I wanted a chicken salad and thought I would have to make a weird request, but glad that I didn't have to. I was pleased with the amount of chicken. However, the flavor was way off. It didn't taste Vietnamese. In fact, it was interesting to me and wasn't that good. It didn't taste like regular grilled chicken either. I don't like wasting food or complaining, so I did eat it. Grilled pork vermicelli: Also a lot of meat and a huge portion. The flavor of the pork was alright. It wasn't as flavorful compared to what I'm used to. Maybe the pho is better?
The pho is nice and aromatic. The meat is sliced thick. The service is quiet. Ambiance is relaxing. Best pho eating from out of town. My only complaint is the portions could be bigger.
The food was amazing.A small portion of the pho was enough to feed myself and still have left overs. I got a mango smoothie and it was incredible. The space was cute and not too flashy.
Located in an awesome place downtown, right off 16th and Champa, this place is down the street from my workplace. The inner decor is cute and I'd definitely enjoy a drink here. I came in on a Wednesday at lunch and it was pretty empty. The food came out pretty quickly, but the broth was a little on the saltier side, IMO. By the end of the bowl, I felt really bloated. Would come back to fix my pho cravings, but there are plenty of other great food options around within the same price point 3.5/5

The service was good too. But I wouldn't go back if we are in Denver again. I ordered the vermicelli combo bowl. It was around $20 and a lot of food. But the meat was very thin and overcooked. The beef was like beef jerky. Chewy and tough. My husband ordered the bahn MI and didn't have any complaints. I did really like the egg roll, but that's about it. I also ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee, which I generally love. This one was so bitter I couldn't drink it. We were around $70 for three people and subpar food.
Not much Vietnamese food near downtown Denver but found this place. Coming from a viet area I did not have high expectations for this place. Unfortunately it was still a miss. Servers were not the most courteous and food took a long time to come out. The rice vermicelli bowl took so long the rest of my party had finished their pho. Servers had to be constantly flagged down for missing items. Food was below average. The pho was not the most flavorful. Grilled pork was good though just interesting choice of lettuce they use. Would only come back if I am desperately craving Vietnamese food in Denver.
While staying in Denver we got to try some amazing places, and this was one of them! It's tucked away, so if you blink you'll miss it, but it's definitely a hidden gem! They have a solid selection of all kinds of pho from seafood to brisket. I had the vegetarian pho with extra veggies (bok choy, broccoli) and they gave a healthy portion of thai basil, bean sprouts, and lemon slices. One note: that veggie broth is spicy! I'm typically not a big spicy food person, so consider yourself warned! Delicious? Indeed. They offer a bunch of Vietnamese meals such as banh mi, various rice and noodles, and of course, spring rolls. The service was efficient and if you're in a tight timeline, this is a good place to get in and out with a good meal.
interesting location in downtown, a tiny bit hard to get to but the pho was worth it. generous serving of bean sprouts, which im a sucker for. thai tea was pretty good too. would stop by again when im back in denver.
This place is unassuming from the street but I promise you it's worth going in! They have a small, medium, and large portion for the Pho. We both got medium & went home with leftovers. It was absolutely delicious! The toppings were fresh and the broths were super flavorful. The waiter let us know that the veggie broth is spicy so I opted for the beef broth, but my friend really enjoyed the spice level for hers. They also had some sauces on the table which we added & really liked. We also shared the crab cheese wontons which were like crab rangoons. Can't go wrong there! read more
If you're looking for great pho, this is the place! This is easily one of the best pho spots in Parker. Rain or shine, hot or cold, I find myself craving it every single week. Sue, the owner, is one of the sweetest and kindest people you'll ever meet. She's always welcoming, helpful, and truly cares about her customers. I also love seeing her family involved in the restaurant--it gives the place such a warm, authentic, and family-friendly atmosphere. The food is always fresh and delicious. My go-to order is the chicken pho with the shrimp spring rolls, and they never disappoint. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area! read more
I didn't have high hopes for a pho restaurant off of 16th Street and unfortunately my worries were proven to be true. First off, the restaurant is located in an interesting place. Once you see the sign, walk south of it for a few steps, walk into the door on your left, and you'll see another door to go into the restaurant. The bathroom is located in the hallway prior to entering the restaurant and requires a gross key from the restaurant. The food itself is just ok. The pork egg rolls are tasty but a bit overpriced. The pho was very disappointing. I understand that due to the location and rent price that they have to charge more but the amount of meat was actually funny, the broth was not that tasty, and the noodles did not taste fresh. Service was alright. The location is pretty large and is a good place to bring a non-picky eater for business lunch or something. read more

Oh the fragrance of Pho, simmering all day, filling the air of their large dining area. Thankfully, this restaurant was a close and easy walk from our meeting site. Four of my coworkers came with me for lunch and we were seated right away. Good thing we beat the regular lunch crowd because this place filled up quick! All of our orders were served up in a timely manner. My chicken pho was tasty, maybe a little bit in the salty side for my preference but others enjoyed the broth. Herbs and veggies were fresh. What the Pho, thank you for your quick service and tasty food. We appreciate the separate checks for our group too. read more

Love the name! that's one thing that catch our attention. If you are coming from LA and you need some Pho, trust this is a great place to go if you're in Denver. Forgot to take a picture of our orders, we were hungry! but this place won't disappoint trust! read more
If you me, you know that I love PHO. I'm very picky, so to give a PHO place, 5 stars says a lot. Service is great. The young guy ran the whole restaurant by himself. I shared one large PHO with flank steak and brisket with my guy. It came with the usual garnishes. *Thai Basil *Jalapeños *bean sprouts * limes *mint The broth is delicious. Better than what I get on the eastcoast. Very flavorful, and not loaded with tons of sodium. They didn't skimp on the meat, I love that it came with a lot of scallions and noodles Crab wontons..cuz I needed something to hold me down, and I didn't like that I had to share with my guy. We're in town for a conference and was craving some Vietnamese food, this was within walking distance so we decided to try this place out. Initial service was good, we chose our own seats and server came by with menus right away. He appears knowledgeable of the items and we decided to order a Grilled pork vermicelli bowl, kid's shrimp soup noodle (pho) with side of fried eggs and a salted lemonade drink. The next few moments made me regretted staying. First, customization is criticized in Vietnamese (loudly); please just say it's not allowed or keep it to yourself. Second, each item that came out was very sweet, lots of sugar. Even the salted lemonade was mostly sugar and barely a scent of salted lemon. Side of fried eggs was oily. So we ended up leaving most of the food there. The restaurant appears clean and typically neat. But we will likely not be returning when we're in town. read more

We ate here after a day of skiing and this place just hits. We had a bowl of combination pho with the broth so rich and beef very tender. I also actually order a grilled pork rice dish - which I never do but was just something I was craving. The flavors themselves were good but the pork came out a little cold, but was a little issue for me. One thing I noticed was the portion sizes of most of the items we ordered. The shrimp and pork spring rolls were very big and satisfying, and all the drinks were served in these huge red Coca Cola branded cups - I can never say no to too much Thai tea. After we order some smoothies which were very delicious. I got the four seasons smoothie with boba, but I would say next time, I would not include boba since it freezes up and struggles to fit in the straw. read more

Worst Pho restaurant I've ever been to. Everything was going fine from seating to ordering until the food came. The server didn't even know which bowl was which or seemed to know the menu. My combination bowl didn't even come with green onions when all the other bowls did. The meatballs also were hard Ans really tough to eat. We noticed that we were missing our bean sprouts, mint, and lime and the server gave us the most passive aggressive and rude "it's coming" when we asked for it. The table next to us was also experiencing the same thing. Finally, our combination vermicelli bowl also took a very long time to come out, and it wasn't until someone who seemed like the owner came to check on us that the order finally came. The order was also wrong. The owner did his best and was very courteous so I have to give him a lot of credit there. The staff, however needs to be trained better. read more

Although we have many Vietnamese restaurants in town, but probably What The Pho is the only one downtown. Besides pho, they also had quite a selection of appetizers, vermicelli bowls, rice platters, Vietnamese sandwiches and salad as well as Vietnamese coffee and boba smoothies. Ordered the medium combination beef pho with rare steak brisket, flank, meatball and tripe and the grilled beef spring rolls. The soup for the pho was not salty, but flavorful and umami, The noodles were bouncy and chewy. The portion was large, so glad I ordered the medium instead of large. The meat in the grilled beef spring rolls were tender and smoky, particularly tasty with the dipping peanut sauce. Despite having the indistinct entrance on the Champa side, the restaurant was busy during lunch hours. The service was no-nonsense and prompt and many customers appeared to be regulars, as they did not even need the menu to order. read more
Bit of a hole in the wall. The food is great! 4/5 for the appetizer sample, it was a bit in the greasy side and I think it could have been improved with fresh oil. Otherwise tasted fantastic.
