Steamed Shrimp Dumpling

The restaurant has great customer service and even better food. I think they even make their noodles in store. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area.

Butter Maine lobster tail miso ramen
Adam Y.

Heard about the Maine lobster ramen from Chimera in Boulder long ago, but could not convince myself to drive all the way to Boulder just for a bowl of ramen. Glad they offered it at the Dragonfly Noodle in Denver (the Boulder Chimera also has since changed its name to Dragonfly Noodle). As more sections of the 16th Street was completed, could not wait to venture there to try this out. The restaurant's setting was casual and more spacious than I expected, customers ordered from the menu on the big screen TV and paid for the order before being seated. They had a variety of ramen, pho, udon, Taiwanese style bao, poke and small plates. For me, I was determined to try the lobster ramen. The portion of lobster tail was not small. The lobster meat was buttery, flavorful and succulent. Compared to other ramen shops, the freshly made (they made their ramen in-house) ramen was the less commonly seen Hirauchimen. The noodle was chewy, filling and springy. The miso bonito broth was savory, smoky, well balanced but not heavy, and brought out sweet and delicate flavor of the lobster with a hint of spiciness. Overall very satisfying. Dragonfly Noodle is near Market and 16th Street.

Brisket pho and Tonkatsu Ramen

Had lunch here today. Both my husband and I liked it a lot. We live a few blocks away so we will be regulars! I had brisket pho and he had black tonkatsu ramen. We enjoyed a pork bao as well.

Amazing food and service! Yummiest tonkotsu ramen yet...and the soft boiled egg was perfection!! We also tried the pork belly bao which did not disappoint!! Looking forward to our next visit!!

Hidden behind all the construction, this is a pretty good ramen / noodle house. It has a somewhat unique ordering process, where you order up from QSR style, then they seat you. The Black Tonkotsu was great with the smoked pork belly and black garlic oil - maybe a little overboard with the fried crispy garlic on top. You can get single bao buns too, and the duck bao was crushed. The inside is pretty basic and quiet, but is a good option when down town for lunch.

Came again for another bowl of ramen, this time got the black Tonkotsu - Cherrywood smoked pork belly, black garlic oil, fried shallot, spicy sprouts, cloud ear mushroom, scallion, tonkotsu broth. It was flavorful and definitely garlic/umami forward. The crispy shallots were delightful. I've had two bowls at this place now and the noodles are definitely on the al dente side. Nice spot for a relatively quick lunch (order and pay at the counter and they bring food out within a few minutes).

2.5/5 I ordered the lobster roll bao ($8) and spicy tuna poké ($12) for dine-in. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you at your table. The food was ready very quickly. The lobster roll bao was a splurge for me and I was beyond excited to try it; unfortunately, while the bun itself was good and the lobster had nice flavor, the meat was pretty chewy. 3.5/5 The spicy tuna poké was a big miss for me. The tuna was beyond salty and the bowl had way too much aioli for my liking. Between the saltiness and the mayo-heavy flavor, I found this difficult to eat. After an internal debate of whether or not to say anything, I decided to let my server know, and no part of the situation was remedied. I only ate a few bites of the bowl before deciding to quit while I was ahead. 1.5/5 I value supporting small businesses, but for $24+ after the included 15% tip, I found myself wishing I went to a chain instead for half the price, where I could have enjoyed what I paid for. Given the awesome reviews, I am hoping I just hit Dragonfly Noodle on a bad day and/or ordered poorly, but I don't see myself coming back.

Black Tonkotsu (added a soft egg)
Laura M.

I finally ordered takeout ramen from here last week, after walking by this place for months. The online ordering is pretty easy, I ordered the Black Tonkotsu, and added in a soft egg. The order was ready ahead of the time that they quoted me (5 min early), and the woman that packaged up my order and handed it to me was super friendly. Onto the ramen - it was ok - with generous portions of cherrywood smoked pork belly and noodles. It also had black garlic oil, fried shallots, spicy sprouts, mushrooms and scallions. The tonkotsu broth was a bit on salty side, and wasn't as dynamic/flavorful as I was expecting. Overall, it was good, but not a standout by any means. I'm glad that I finally tried it, but not sure that I'll be back.

Black Tonkatsu. Very flavorful.

Best ramen I've ever had (black Tonkatsu) but it took forever! I was there for lunch and it was busy but not "30 minute wait for ramen" busy...

The food is excellent and the atmosphere is on point. This Michelin star Chef had done a great job on recovering his business after dealing Covid-19 pandemic and it's affects on his business.

5 stars for the lobster boa ALONE. I'm from Georgia so I would have like the Thai tea a bit sweeter. lol but overall it was delicious

Pork Belly Bao
Camille L.

The bun itself was very dry and lacked flavor. The meat was very dry and sliced way too thin on both the ramen and bun. I don't feel like the price matched the quality. The service was great and super kind staff.

This was what arrived. 2.58oz of lobster. What a ripoff and misrepresentation of the meal.

You can try to park at the free parking, off the street or on the street. It was Sunday 3 pm and parking was no problem. Ambiance. Very Japanese like feeling with knick knacks every where with banners, akachõchin. Sushi bar takes one side and also a small bar to the back. Drink menu featured several imported Japanese bottled beers on top of the common ones at reasonable price. Ended up getting the house salad, chicken yakitori, spicy tonkatsu ramen and yaki ika. All tasted good, no complaints. Spicy tonkatsu ramen had rich broth, chatsu was grilled and plenty. Repeat

The menu leans classic izakaya--small plates meant for sharing--but everything comes out with care and confidence. Skewers are grilled properly, not rushed, with just enough char to matter. The ramen is rich without being heavy, and the broth tastes like someone actually paid attention to it for hours. Even the simpler dishes feel deliberate, which isn't always the case with izakaya-style menus. The atmosphere hits a nice balance: lively without being chaotic, cozy without feeling cramped. It works just as well for a casual dinner as it does for lingering over drinks. Speaking of drinks, the sake and Japanese whiskey selection is thoughtful and well-paired to the food. Tatsu doesn't try to reinvent Japanese cuisine--it just executes it well.

Uncle makes me want to move to Denver! To start the ambiance is really chill and inviting with warm lighting and offers countertop as well as table seating. Our server was amazing and explained the menu well and made some recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered way to much food but I do not regret that because I got to try so many amazing dishes. Despite ordering so many options they even brought us a chilled tofu dish complimentary (no clue why but not complaining) and it was lovely! We shared the uncle salad (amazing!), thai shrimp, eggplant buns, several different nigiri/aburi nigiri and sashimi and the toro toro and spicy tuna roll. All of the sushi was fresh and had excellent pairing of accompaniments. The only dish that I remember being a miss was the soft shell crab buns. The proportion of bun to interior was off and there was way too much mayo. Everyone got their own ramen which they seemed to love. I ordered the Veggie Khao Soi per our servers recommendation and I am still thinking about it weeks later. It was a curry/ramen mix and had big chunks of trumpet mushrooms in it and the perfect amount of spice that I love. Denverites I am jealous you have Uncle and anyone visiting make sure to add it to your list!

Would definitely go back again. We want to try some of the other flavors of Ramen.

We also really enjoyed the chili wontons, pork belly skewers, and Kobe beef buns - all were super high quality and packed with flavor. Honestly, I've never really experienced anything quite like it--part restaurant, part nightlife vibe--but it was kind of cool in its own way. I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered sushi along with a seaweed salad and an Old Fashioned. The food was actually really good--fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot after the show. That said, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing dinner, this probably isn't your place. But if you're open to a lively atmosphere and something a little different, it's a fun experience. I enjoyed my food, soaked in the vibe, and left glad I gave it a try.

So we decided to get a hot bowl of ramen to clear ourselves right up. I have to admit while we have had pretty good ramen in Colorado nothing has blown us away. This place did just that. If you are looking for the most authentic bowl of ramen anywhere within a 20-30 Radius of Denver this is your spot.
