The staff were quick and attentive. You place orders through a QR code on the table like many restaurants these day. I ordered the Dragonfly Bao and Black Tonkotsu ramen. The bao was great. Very soft bao, and tender meat with the right amount of kimchi. The ramen was excellent. Savory, salty, and a good filling size. Ate here for a food tour and was blown away. The Roast Duck Bao was so delicious that I dream about it. The space was nice and the tv was playing cooking shows from outside the US, which was so much fun to watch. The service was the best part overall. We were treated like royalty. This place for a Saturday night dinner..missed on almost everything, and only had two people working. It was effectively dead. From the absolutely burnt shallots on the black tonkatsu, to not including extras like a miso spice bomb or nori? $2.00 extra on top..They eventually brought me wakame after I mentioned both were missing. No baos? Which is like 1/4 of the menu. Also, the lobster ramen took close to an hour. Not to mention a 15% service fee. Heard about the Maine lobster ramen from Chimera in Boulder long ago, but could not convince myself to drive all the way to Boulder just for a bowl of ramen. Glad they offered it at the Dragonfly Noodle in Denver (the Boulder Chimera also has since changed its name to Dragonfly Noodle). As more sections of the 16th Street was completed, could not wait to venture there to try this out. The restaurant's setting was casual and more spacious than I expected, customers ordered from the menu on the big screen TV and paid for the order before being seated. They had a variety of ramen, pho, udon, Taiwanese style bao, poke and small plates. For me, I was determined to try the lobster ramen. The portion of lobster tail was not small. The lobster meat was buttery, flavorful and succulent. Compared to other ramen shops, the freshly made (they made their ramen in-house) ramen was the less commonly seen Hirauchimen. The noodle was chewy, filling and springy. The miso bonito broth was savory, smoky, well balanced but not heavy, and brought out sweet and delicate flavor of the lobster with a hint of spiciness. I ate here for the first time and had the 12 hour simmered meat pho. It was okay, was not the rich flavorful broth I would expect. Brought the other meat pho home for hubby and it was too salty "even for him". Mine was salty too. Hidden behind all the construction, this is a pretty good ramen / noodle house. It has a somewhat unique ordering process, where you order up from QSR style, then they seat you. The Black Tonkotsu was great with the smoked pork belly and black garlic oil - maybe a little overboard with the fried crispy garlic on top. You can get single bao buns too, and the duck bao was crushed. The inside is pretty basic and quiet, but is a good option when down town for lunch. read more

It was flavorful and definitely garlic/umami forward. The crispy shallots were delightful. I've had two bowls at this place now and the noodles are definitely on the al dente side. The lobster roll bao was a splurge for me and I was beyond excited to try it; unfortunately, while the bun itself was good and the lobster had nice flavor, the meat was pretty chewy. 3.5/5 The spicy tuna poké was a big miss for me. The tuna was beyond salty and the bowl had way too much aioli for my liking. Between the saltiness and the mayo-heavy flavor, I found this difficult to eat. After an internal debate of whether or not to say anything, I decided to let my server know, and no part of the situation was remedied. I only ate a few bites of the bowl before deciding to quit while I was ahead. 1.5/5 I value supporting small businesses, but for $24+ after the included 15% tip, I found myself wishing I went to a chain instead for half the price, where I could have enjoyed what I paid for. I finally ordered takeout ramen from here last week, after walking by this place for months. The online ordering is pretty easy, I ordered the Black Tonkotsu, and added in a soft egg. The order was ready ahead of the time that they quoted me (5 min early), and the woman that packaged up my order and handed it to me was super friendly. Onto the ramen - it was ok - with generous portions of cherrywood smoked pork belly and noodles. It also had black garlic oil, fried shallots, spicy sprouts, mushrooms and scallions. The tonkotsu broth was a bit on salty side, and wasn't as dynamic/flavorful as I was expecting. Overall, it was good, but not a standout by any means. I'm glad that I finally tried it, but not sure that I'll be back. read more

It was a tasty broth, but I disappointed by the lack of sauces [none] or add ins that usually come with pho from traditional Asian restaurants. Service was mediocre. I think they were understaffed. Loving the fresh cut house made ramen noodles at Dragonfly noodle! Check out their cutting machine near the entrance. Noodles were cut early in the evening, say about 5:30, for their dinner hour. We enjoyed their vegetarian ramen bowl, which was large with a tasty miso broth. We also had edamame two ways - salted and spicy. We also had a flight of four sweet Korean rice wine drinks known as soju. We tried 4 different flavors: blueberry, strawberry, grape and grapefruit. Order at the counter and then a server will bring your order out to you. Service was great. The dining area is bright and cheerful. read more

First off, this is for tourists. I live in the downtown area and constantly run into this issue. It's not a bad thing, just means that that most of the business will likely come from people visiting Denver. My girlfriend wanted to try some new ramen and saw the reviews. It's on 16 street mall so not the easiest to pickup with a car. Got in and ordered the food before I realized that they have a 15% surcharge. While I hate when this happens, I saw that I could have opted out when I ordered, should have read the sign first. Not a knock at the staff, I don't tip on carry out. I tip for sit down service. Got home and we started eating. Both got the black tonkatsu ramen with the spicy oil. We both thought the broth on its own before adding the spicy oil was very bland. Next we noticed the noodles were undercooked. This is common to let the broth finish cooking them and absorb the broth flavor. Only problem was we let it sit and the noodles didn't really soften or absorb the broth. The noodles were also thicker than we usually get with ramen. I would work on your noodles and broth to be charging what you're charging. Every add including soft bowl egg is an up charge. Other places in Denver are doing it better and cheaper. read more

Also, I had to add the egg ($2.30), even though the picture includes it, it is actually an add-on cost, so it's $35+. First time and last time at dragonfly noodle and wouldn't recommend to anyone. I was walking down on 16th Street Mall, on my way to a place on Larimer between 16th and 15th for a Poké bowl which I had before and really liked it. I passed by dragonfly and what drew my attention was a poke bowl printout on their window and since I had not been there before I thought I'd give it a try. The place looks really nice from outside and inside but as soon as I was seated, I was disappointed. I sat by a windowsill, and noticed dead little gnats or bugs on the on the sill and crumbs on the table. The glass where my chopsticks, spoons and napkins were in, was dirty as well. I had to ask for a new set and ask for a set the replacement was still dirty minus t)3 crumbs. I decided to just give it a try and enjoy my time there. I was starving. The place was empty, maybe one additional customer besides myself. I ordered a Poké bowl which is the only Poké bowl in the menu. And although overpriced at a total of almost $18 (no drink), I do have to admit that I was happy to find out that they were including gratuity for the service staff and tip was not optional. The food took almost 15 minutes to arrive and when it did, it had a good presentation. The first three bites were ok. Then I started to dig in. there were only a few pieces of tuna, which were very dark in color, almost grayish brown. That was the first turn off for me besides all the other things I just mentioned. As I continued eating I kept getting a rancid, smell and taste in my mouth. At that point I stopped eating any of the tuna and just eat the rice and veggies instead (I was starved!) I realize everything was warm and it kind of threw me off a little bit for a Poké bowl to be so warm. I then went to the restroom and the sinks were dirty. The lock wasn't working. The whole cleanliness of the place was just gross. I forgot to mention that when I tried to squeeze out Sriracha to my bowl, the top was disgusting and so so sticky and stuck with dried up sauce that it didn't worked. I grabbed another one from the other table it was as disgusting as the one before. I had the same problem with it, I ended up having to twist off the top and pour onto the scary poke bowl starring at me read more

I read good things and was really looking forward to our meal.We started with the bao buns which were nothing to write home about . Some were soggy and others were undercooked. For mains I had raman and my friend tried the Pho. Both had crazy gummy noodles in what tasted like dishwater broth.. Our server didn't even question why we hardly ate anything. Hard pass. read more

Beef tonkatsu was ok..not great but not bad. Thai tea was very good. Service was where this place lost my business forever. Staff seemed very put out to have to serve anyone 45 minutes prior to closing. Server (long black haired dude, in case owners are reading this) had a terrible attitude, slammed every dish of food down on the table, as if to let us know he was doing us a favor we didn't deserve versus what he is being paid to do. Won't be back. Only gave two stars because of the tea. read more

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. I ordered from this place a few days ago and went to pick up and NO ONE WAS THERE. The door was locked and no one answered my phone call for three days. They took my money and kept sending me updates stating my food was ready. But it wasn't. This is a great place for lunch. You order when you walk in, get seated, and wait for delicious food to come out. Or group had various misos, the udon noodles, Bao buns, and edamame...all delicious. The prices are reasonable. Instead of flipping the pad and asking for a tip (like other restaurants suggesting 30%+ - hello tipflation), they charge 15% for a service fee (clearly marked where you order) and pay all their employees. I much prefer this method, and 15% is very reasonable for the service you get. It's not quite full service sit down, but aside from ordering before getting seated, it is. I'll be back. read more
