Great neighborhood spot! Service was friendly and quick. Atmosphere was quaint. We enjoyed the dumplings appetizers and a good bit of the rolls. Seems like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Affordable as well for the fish quality. Will be returning or ordering delivery!

This local Japanese restaurant is near my home just east of Logan St on Bayaud Ave. They have a small sushi bar and 12 tables. Very large menu with lots of choices. I was welcomed on arrival and was served by Peter. I chose one of their 6 specials, Shrimp Dumplings. It took 10 min and was served correctly in a double bamboo basket. Very good. The dipping sauce was light. While I was waiting, I got a glass of Blossom of Peace plum wine. Next was the Avocado salad. A large sliced avocado on a bed of spring mix with a peanut dressing. Next was the Sashimi & Sushi platter. I got 12 pieces of sashimi and a spicy tuna roll plus plenty of ginger & wasabi. I asked and got Tamari instead of using soy sauce. A most wonderful meal.

Right away the staff was phenomenal. So welcoming. Our waitress Christina was so attentive & helpful. Alex also came by and refilled my sake as they served my sushi which was so kind. The chefs were awesome and made good convo. I got the avocado roll and veggie roll on soy paper with extra crunchies which was amazing. My husband got the sushi plate & loved it however the star of the show was his Cherry Creek Roll. It's been two weeks since we were there and he's still talking about that roll. Plus they had an IPA for him which is so rare in sushi places. The bathroom was very clean, the whole place was clean with a good aesthetic. We will absolutely return. I cannot say enough about the staff & how welcoming and friendly every person was. Highly highly recommend going here.

This is a hidden gem! It's a small restaurant right next to a liquor store it's pretty easy to pass if you're not on the lookout. The staff were attentive and friendly. We got sat immediately. I got the sashimi plate and my friend got the chicken and beef hibachi and the spider roll. Everything was amazing! The fish was super fresh and had great quality. The slices were thick! Honestly, it was some of the best sashimi iv had. The hibachi was flavorful and the meat was so juicy and tender. We opted for this restaurant because it was open late and had great reviews. I can see why! This place is a must visit if you are in the area. I will 100% be back.

Excellent, friendly service. Relaxed and casual vibe. Fresh fish and generous portions. Inventive specialty rolls. Great happy hour from 4-6pm. My favorite place for after work drinks and dinner.

This sushi spot is an easy 10/10! The area is beautiful, and everyone we encountered was so polite and respectful. The food was absolutely amazing. I was honestly surprised coming from California, but it exceeded my expectations. Parking isn't the best, but that's more about the area itself than the restaurant. Christina was our server, and she was truly wonderful, so kind, professional, and honestly one of the prettiest, most glowing people I've met in the industry. Thank you, Christina, for making our visit so special. We'll definitely be coming back not only for the food, but also because of the great service you provided.

Taki has been a solid choice for years. I hadn't been in to the actual restaurant in a while because we usually do takeout but the kiddo was hungry after school and we realized we'd never been in person with him! He was impressed with the freshness of his Avacado rolls and salmon nigiri. We also splurged and got the fried Icecream, another first and delicious! Service was friendly and prompt, we will be back for sure!

Now I want to eat this whole platter again!

Met some friends here per their recommendation for dinner this weekend. Parking was a little tough - a busier/more popular area. But I did eventually find a spot down the road. My friends said we should get there before 6 to make use of the happy hour specials - was more than happy with my glass of wine for $5.50 (and it was good!) I would have preferred prosecco but they only sell that in bottles. We all ordered a mix of sushi (though we weren't actually sharing) and it came out all on one dish but they clearly pointed out which was which. I ordered the spicy tuna, spicy scallop and spicy shrimp. None of them were spicy - definitely need to add some of that spicy roe on top or something to add a kick cause the kick was definitely not there. The flavors were really good - I enjoyed the scallop and shrimp rolls quite a bit. Around 6:30/7 the place got completely packed so coming on the earlier side is probably a good call as it is not a massive place. The staff was friendly and came over frequently to refill our water glasses and see if we need anything else. Our waitress had even asked if I wanted a drink before the happy hour ended at 6 which I appreciated. Overall fairly happy with the drinks, meal and service, just wanted a little more heat to the spicy rolls. I would come back though - very reasonable prices.

Taki Sushi is a gem in Washington Park. Our kids live in the area and frequent this place, and wanted to take us there while we were visiting from Cincinnati. It will now be a regular go-to when we visit! The staff is very friendly and our server, Art, was great. It's too bright inside, and could do with some toning-down and warming-up the lighting. For appetizers we ordered the kid's favorite; Garlic Broccoli. It was cooked perfectly and we asked for the extra sauce to be put in a cup to dip into the rest of the dinner because it was that good. We also had the Cucumber Sashimi off the appetizer menu. It was extremely fresh tasting and the cucumber was the perfect compliment to the tuna. The Yellowtail Jalapeño Hamachi was fabulous. I cut up one ring of jalapeño per bite of cod and it was perfect. And I never miss a chance to order Miso Black Cod if it's on a menu. This version was executed perfectly and presented with nicely cooked asparagus. We followed up with four different sushi rolls. Every single one was so fresh and delicious. The sake and the Rose wine were both delightful as well. Two other great aspects of this place is that they are open till 10pm and reasonably priced! This is actually a 4.5 star review if I could do that.

Let's be real- this place is still my favorite even though I don't care too much for the spicy tuna rolls. Therefor they deserve 5 stars.

6 stars if I could! Love this sushi. They give such generous pieces! The sushi/sashimi combo for 2 is for sure gonna fill you up! We usually order that to go. But if we sit at the restaurant we will hand pick some rolls. They are never that crowded, I think they are just a hidden gem. Sushi is fresh and reasonably priced. I pretty much want TAKI once a week!

We thought we made a mistake choosing sushi bar instead of a table because we'll have back issues. Surprisingly, the chairs had a mini back so you could lean back occasionally. And we think our experience was better because the sushi chefs would explain the origin of the fish and all the ingredients they used into each roll and order. We also got a complimentary piece for sitting at the sushi bar which was a light fried yellow tail which was so good. Service is amazing. They're attentive and check in on you often. It does take some time to get your rolls but give its time to digest. From watching the sushi chefs at the bar, they're very precise in how they make each roll. Every roll has similar proportions from the slight wasabi they use to the amount of rice and fish. Everything that we had was amazing. The hamachi and salmon sashimi felt like butter. It just melts in your mouth. The aged toro was so delicious. Even the edamame was just so good. The unagi nigiri is some of the best I've had in the state (the nigri was better than the handroll and I think it's because I love unagi so I love the ratio in nigiri form). The Spicy Tuna Oshizushi was a surprising favorite of the night along with the Crème Fresh Salmon Belly. I could've done without the wagyu but it was good. Every order does come with only 1 so order based on the amount of people that are with your party. Some items we were unsure of like the wagyu so we ordered 1 and shared a bite. Overall, I understand the hype and the reservations. But it was worth it and I'm surprised we can get high quality fish in a landlock state. Uchi is dangerous for people like me…read more Not because of the raw fish. Because the place understands seduction. I've been eating at Uchi since it opened in Denver and today it still carries that same intoxicating balance of precision, warmth, swagger, and restraint. The room itself glows instead of shouts. Wood slats divide the dining room into little private theaters while the sushi counter hums with focused choreography. Expert hands moving constantly. Rice. Fish. Quiet communication. Tiny acts of discipline repeated hundreds of times a night. I sat down intending to have a civilized happy hour. That plan lasted maybe twelve minutes. The kurodai crudo arrived first. Gooseberry, leche de tigre, candied garlic. Bright, sharp, and alive. This is the kind of starter that wakes up your entire palate and you are reminded that you will absolutely be spending more money than originally intended. Next was the bincho temaki: cool albacore, kimchi, avocado, and a vividly garish orange sauce with some heat to keep the richness from becoming too much. Uchi understands something many restaurants don't: luxuriousness needs balance. Fatty fish without acid, spice, crunch, or brightness is palate exhaustion. And then one after another the deliciousness continued: the oysters were cold and perfect with cucumber, calamansi vinegar, and umeboshi. The day boat scallop nigiri nearly stopped time altogether. Just sweet scallops, rice, citrus, a little finishing salt. Incréable. Or whatever the French word is for "I briefly forgot my own name." And somewhere during martini number one, the staff adopted me. Apparently Uchi keeps notes on guests. Mine, I was told, says I'm "nice and a good eater," which may be the most flattering thing anyone has said to me in months. Suddenly more dishes started appearing. Gifted nigiri. Ikura glowing like little amber jewels (my favorite). A ridiculous and completely delicious carrot toro maki with green chili crunch and enough heat underneath the richness to make the whole thing flirt openly with your mouth. At one point the bartenders literally invented a "walu walu shot" on the fly just because the mood had drifted into improvisational chaos. This was somewhere between oyster shooter, seafood dare, and excellent bad decisions. Meanwhile, the guests next to me started talking to me and the entire energy of the evening shifted into communal sushi-bar joy. Suddenly we were all reacting to dishes, laughing, comparing bites, participating in the same ecosystem of salt, fish, alcohol, and temporary human connection. This is the real thing Uchi sells. Not merely sushi. Attention. Rhythm. Atmosphere. Memory. The feeling of being folded into a beautifully functioning machine dedicated entirely to pleasure. And yes, by the end I was emotional enough to remember being 20 years old eating sushi with an older woman named Alana who wore real fur and introduced me to this whole sensual adult world in the first place. That is what a martini and exceptional nigiri will do to a man. The final bill before tip was somehow only $141, which honestly feels mathematically impossible considering I briefly entered a spiritual relationship with the sushi counter. I tipped $50 because at that point we were basically family. Uchi remains one of the sexiest restaurants in Denver. Not performatively sexy. Not influencer sexy. Actually sexy. Confident. Observant. Generous. Precise. And just dangerous enough to make you order one more thing. Amazing dining experience.
