Located in a former city hall building it's a spacious restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The best part about high grain is their events. Keep an eye out on their instagram for things like Octoberfest, summer and spring parties, trivia and more. The restaurant is all table service and we have always been treated well. Visited the newly opened Brentwood location in Finneytown today. The location was very well designed on the inside with multiple areas to sit as well host business events. The set up from front of the house to back has a ton of space, televisions to watch events, and a back area to see where they brew their beer. The staff was very welcoming and helpful on making selections and their selection along with menu seem fair for only being open 1 week in my visit. I had the hummus plate and fries which were well seasoned overall as well as a pilsner which all tasted fresh. I would highly recommend coming here on a date night, with family or a business event. read more

This location has done a great job building an atmosphere that doesn't feel like you're in a CVS parking lot. Can't say the beer was incredible but it was fun to try a variety of options. Legit, I loved everything. The beer, the food, the staff, the atmosphere. Just everything. If you've never been, make it a priority to go ASAP! Located in a former municipal building that house the PD FD and other city offices, this unique place has created a wonderful brewery and restaurant feel. I liked the fact that the tap room with its high tops differed from the other dining area with booths and tables for families and other intimate groups. This is a place where strangers quickly become friends. I've been here twice and with the way the crew there acts, you would think I was a regular. They were patient and great with suggestions. The inside is really cool as it's a renovated municipal building. The outside seating is ideal for a nice day or if you bring your pup. The last time we went to Highgrain Brewing was during Covid when they were only open for Growlers to go only. Now that they are open -tap room and kitchen, we had to pay them a visit. Walked in and felt welcome. Very laid back with plenty of seating (outdoor is also open. Pet friendly.) Once you are seated, you scan a code, both the drink/food menu are available. Your server will take your order. My lady and I had been talking about eating here since before the pandemic hit. Sometimes things happen and plans get changed a bit. Well, we still wanted to try it, even stopped by on a walk when they were only filling growlers and crowlers to go. The beers we got were good so we had to return when they reopened for dine-in... And we're glad we did! The building itself doesn't look that big from the outside but still has plenty of seating inside. From the bar, you can see where all the tasty brews are made. The menu isn't huge but has a nice array of different options. My lady and I started out with a couple brews, a Lusen pilsner for her and a Phoon New England IPA for me, and an order of hop smoked cauliflower wings (with sauce on the side). The brews were really good and the cauliflower were all big and super tasty. As for our main courses, my lady had the local peach and tomato salad while I had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Of course, we had a couple more brews. She had the Margo blackberry orange witbier and I had the Monarch juicy IPA. Again, everything was excellent. Her salad was immensely fresh and my pulled pork was made just right. And we did have one more brew each after that. I had the Leona tangerine sour and she had the Bee's Knees sunflower honey wheat. The Leona was definitely my personal favorite while the Bee's Knees was my lady's favorite. Before we left, we took a look at their gear for sale. They had shirts, hats, stuff for dogs, and even beer-scented soap. We got some of the soap because it smelled really good and was made with Shea butter. I could definitely see us going back for more grub and a few more rounds. Great place with great food, beer, and service. We might go back when it gets a little cooler so we can bring our dog and sit on the patio. They're very dog friendly. While we were there, I saw one of the servers take a bowl of water for another customer's dog outside. I found that very thoughtful of the server. We enjoyed our experience at HighGrain! For me, the best thing is that they have their own Hefeweizen!!! I fell in love with this beer in Berlin, and theirs did not disappoint. Hubby always likes a darker beer, so he went with the Dunkel Lager and really enjoyed it! The service here is so friendly and efficient. Wonderful staff!! The food was good too :). I ordered the chicken 'n dumplings. It was FULL of chicken. I wish there was more broth and more dumplings, but overall a solid dish. Hubby liked his Steak Philly that came with fries. First off- A disclaimer- we didn't try the food options, so can't review that. A friend of mine stays in Silverton and he raves about the beer here. Last weekend, I decided to give it a shot. This space is not as massive as Madtree or Rhinegeist, but it's decent. The vibe is very laidback. There's place to sit indoors with the bar and dining seats, and patio out front. Parking space seems to be sufficient as well. Beers? Really good! I tried the Lemongrass Saison, which is kinda close to pale ale. My friend got the Lithuanian Farmhouse that is kinda close to ales made in Lithuania. Now I've seen a lot of breweries in Cincinnati and yet, never discovered these kinds. Both were really good. They have a decent collection on tap, and it caters to most people's interests. I enjoyed my beer and would return for some more and food! read more

Brewery that feels more like a restaurant. Sitting at the bar and front area still has a brewery feel. Otherwise, the light and bright atmosphere feels more restaurant. Having servers that come to the table also add to that feeling. Service was prompt. No complaints there. Flight was to us within minutes. Wings were only a few minutes behind. We were checked on a couple of times. Wings were okay. Not nearly as good as the pictures on Yelp of there other foods. The chicken was dry, yet the skin on the outside was still soft and smushy. Not the crisp skin I think of when I think chicken wings. Cauliflower wings were just lightly fried cauliflower that was then drenched in sauce. So really just a side order of cauliflower. Other places I have tried cauliflower wings batter or bread it to give it more texture. Not so here. I would be interested in trying their other food another time. Were were getting something to snack on while trying a flight. Descriptions of beer were fairly spot on. The Humboldt Blonde Cocoa Stout had a very coffee taste. Taking a sip of it then a sip on the Triple Berry Wheat helped mute some of the sour aftertaste of the berry ale. The two beers complimented eachother. In light of COVID, patricians have been put up in the back area to help seperate tables. This gives the spaces a more intimate feeling. Menues are available via a QR code on the table. Contactless opening of bathroom doors are another way they are trying to keep people safe. read more

Recently had the pleasure of having date night at high grain We started out with the pretzel and beer cheese app, I could have eaten the entire container of the white cheddar beer cheese, it was amazing. I got the fried green tomato BLT which was pretty yummy, there was some pimento cheese sauce on there which was amazing and it came out piping hot. I was not a super fan of the Mac and cheese but, I am a mac n cheese snob, I would most likely order fries next time. My bf got the philly sandwich and omg it was amazing.. I will get that next time. We stopped in on a sunny weekend and had a great time! The outdoor area is great- plenty of picnic tables, adirondack chairs, and grassy space! We only had the beer since we had just eaten, but the food menu looked phenomenal as well. Most tables around us were ordering food so it must be good! They had a wide selection of beers. My husband had the gumbo and I had the steak Gordita crunch. We loved both of them! And very reasonably priced. Gumbo was $10 for a large bowl. And Gordita crunch was $12 for 2 and house-made tortilla chips with beer cheese. My husband would've like the gumbo a little spicier though. We loved both of them and will definitely be back! We ventured out tonight in search of a brewery we haven't tried yet. We chose HighGrain Brewing. First impression, must be good the parking lot is full and it's only 5pm! We sat at the bar, they have plexiglass dividers to keep everyone safe. I noticed they are doing a crazy amount of carryout food orders, big food orders. Not many breweries also offer food and those that do are not necessarily known for carryout. We ordered a porter (and then another) which was very good. For food we started with the HG salad, which was fresh and delicious. Then we ordered the Philly cheesesteak and fish and chips. They were both excellent! The fish reminds me of what I used to get in England, minus the malt vinegar. Very light batter, perfectly cooked. The bartender was so friendly. This is a must try if you haven't already. Pleasantly surprised and sad I hadn't heard of this place until wing week. Turns out they have CAULIFLOWER WINGS!! I wish more places had this option. They were lightly battered, beautifully tender and tossed just right. Cauliflower wings are very easy to mess up but they did NOT. I also tried a flight of beers and honestly, they were all great. I'm more of a light beer person so I tried Pilsner, Hefeweizen and a couple others. Hefeweizen was my favorite! Also, THEY HAVE TRIVIA ON TUESDAY!!! I have been looking forward to a fun trivia night for so long and was so excited we happened to choose this place on the same day. I love that this is in a renovated municipal building, and not only do some of the Art Deco accents survive on the outside, but they've been echoed in some of the woodwork and acoustic paneling inside. The space is warm and inviting. I will confess I haven't tried the beers yet -- I just started keto, and didn't want to cheat just yet. I got the roasted beet salad, since they were only serving the brunch menu (not really any great keto options on the brunch menu, but hey, I'm foolish for excepting much to be low-carb at a brewery). It was okay -- other friends got other food on the menu that looked a bit more appetizing. I'm a bit sad that there were no gluten-free beer options. The building is really cool. A friend said he didn't recognize it until he went inside and remembered paying a parking ticket there when it was a police station. I really like the slow poor Czech Pilsner. My sister used to live in the Czech Republic so missed them. I like that they have more options than IPAs as I'm hopped out.
