Saw the sign for The Roll one day driving down Race Street, and this morning decided to give it a try. WOW! Cute little bakery with a countertop offering the daily flavors - they had sugar glaze, plain crème cheese, blueberry lemon, pecan caramel and pistachio. They all looked amazing. I got the pecan caramel and the plain crème cheese. These did not disappoint - the flavors are exactly what you want from a good sweet roll. Will be back. read more

This a place you grab and go, no places to sit down. It is small so no one wanted to stay in there anyways. Of course you have to pay to park near by. A grab and go kind of place. Only one bench to sit on. If you don't get here quickly, there may be a line, but it does move pretty quickly. Employees were friendly and patient. Definitely go for the caramel pecan cinnamon roll. I will have to say this may be the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. We arrived around 11:00 am on a Friday morning. There was only one person in front of us in line, but in the time that we were there several more people joined the line. They had 4 different cinnamon rolls to choose from. I decided to try a classic roll with cream cheese icing. There is no seating available, so we walked to Washington Park to eat there. The people in front of us ordered the iced Spanish latte, and it looked delicious. The cinnamon roll was soft and gooey in the best way. The icing didn't have as much of a cream cheese flavor as I expected, but it was still tasty. I would like to return and try one of their specialty flavors. read more

Solid cinnamon roll. I tried the caramel pecan and lemon blueberry. Not overwhelming rich. Best of all, it wasn't a dry cinnamon roll, which is my usual complaint. Doughy and fresh. Good little weekend stop for a sweet treat. Biggest complaint was zero spots to stop and eat. They had a single bench out front but it was taken. Visited The Roll for the first time this weekend! We got the classic cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting and the lemon blueberry roll. The latter was great, no notes. For the classic cinnamon roll, I would have loved a little more cinnamon filling (and I say that as someone who doesn't really like cinnamon)! The frosting is very cream cheese forward, which I personally enjoy, but important to note for those who don't. The texture of the rolls is perfect--they're soft, pillowy, and moist. This place is amazing! I am pretty picky about my cinnamon rolls but these are perfect. They are soft and sweet. But not doughy and not too sweet. The original cream cheese and caramel ones are the best. I tried them all though! They keep their menu simple and know how to do things right. I will be back! read more

This was the place to be on a Sunday morning. I waited 40 mins to get inside. They had a bunch of different flavors to try. I got a regular iced and the chocolate. They both weren't anything special I would say. I think it would be better if you warmed them when you came home. The price is pretty good for the size of the cinnamon roll though. read more

Here at the roll, you get about six choices that range from $4.75 to$6.75. Some options include sugar glaze, blueberry, cinnamon roll, chocolate cinnamon roll, and pecan, pistachio. If you're not gonna get there at 8:45 and willing to stand in line for 20 to 30 minutes, please do not come. They do sell coffee and Matcha however I did not try that usually these places niche are the bakery items and not the coffee. So try your at own risk and maybe let me know. The cinnamon rolls are served pretty warm. They travel well they give them to you in A to go box. I wasn't given a bag however two cinnamon rolls seem to fit well in a box. You definitely have to pre-plan because of parking it is downtown but if you go on a Sunday, luckily you don't have to pay the park at 2 PM. Lastly ambience wise it is a small space but once you get there to order your in and out. Be careful because the line could wrap around the corner quickly. This isn't something I would frequent weekly but go with friends to try a few and support local business. read more

SO TASTY! We got there early, at 830am, they open at 9am, by like 8:50am the line was to the next block. The family that runs the restaurant is BEYOND sweet! There were so many choices. Pistachio, Cream Cheese, Sugar Glaze, Carmel Pecan, Bavarian Chocolate, and Lemon Blueberry! They have lattes and matcha, which were both delicious. Their prices are extremely modest in my opinion, with a the rolls being about 3-4 inches in diameter! There is not seating in the inside, but Washington Park is a block away with plenty! Good cinnamon roll, ok flavor. The texture is really fluffy. It taste more like Japanese milk bread than your traditional cinnamon roll. However the icing is lacking. For the amount they charge $6.5 they should pay more icing. Overall it feels more like $4.5 cinnamon roll. But I get it it's OTR and it's a hippy place so the price is higher. read more
