Makers Bakers has become a staple for me when I visit Findlay Market. I hadn't been in a while and about had a conniption fit when I didn't spot it it's usual place lol, but it is now located in the center of Findlay market. Their energy is the perfect match for the hustle and bustle of that location, and if the line seems long don't let it intimidate you, they move pretty quickly. The owners and staff are always super friendly and helpful. Every time I go I am greeted and made to feel like an old friend. On my last visit I tried at caramel apple lemonade , and it was super refreshing and I loved the flavor! The homemade Pop-Tarts are delicious but the bourbon caramel banana pudding has my heart. I will get that every time I can, it's that good. On my next visit I hope to try one of the Savory danishes, I'm thinking tomato garlic. read more

No, because: these are THE BEST cinnamon buns. Small little humble stand in Findlay market, with servers that have big hearts and always a smile on their face. They asked how much frosting i wanted and i asked for a GENEROUS amount. I had to eat it the next day reheated and i can confidently say it was better than cinnabon. Okay this is definitely not going to be a normal review compared to all of the 5 star reviews I read. I love supporting small independent local owned shops and after seeing the high ratings I decided to give place a try. I am not sure if all of the 5 star reviews made me have high too high of expectations, but all of their goodies just didn't match the reviews I was reading. I waited about 15 minutes in line to get their goodies. I asked the people in line if they had been here before, and everyone recommended the cinnamon rolls as a must have. When I got to the counter, I saw they had delicious looking brownies, cookies, banana pudding in addition to the cinnamon rolls. I also learned they now sell sour dough bread and was excited to try it, since I absolutely love it and it is my favorite type of bread. First off the service was okay. I told them it was my first time here and they were nice after the first comment, but I could tell they didn't want to be bothered with questions. There was only 1 other person behind me and I only asked 2 questions. I feel like the service could be improved, but I get that it was cold out and they were serving non-stop customers, so perhaps they just needed a break As for the items I ordered the following: 1) Cinnamon roll: yes it was good and I love that you can order the amount of frosting you want. The cinnamon roll tasted homemade and less chemical than your big chains like Cinnabon. However I just wasn't wowed. Idk if was the particular cinnamon roll they gave me, but it was kind of dry. The flavor was delicious though so overall I give it 4 stars. 2) Their chocolate chip cookie was large, soft in the center and tasty. But for the price I was expecting something more. Yes, I know places like Crumbl get away with selling gigantic lower quality cookies for a high price, but from a local bakery my expectations are higher. And though the cookie was better than Crumbl, it was still just okay. The taste just didn't wow me and I would give it 3 stars. 3) The biggest disappointment was the Oreo fudge brownie. I love brownies and I love Oreos so I thought this was going to be a home run. The brownie tasted stale and something in the icing tasted off. I don't know if these brownie were just in the case longer than usual, but for the price this really wasn't worth it. The brownie texture itself was chewy and great, but the actual flavor and icing ruined it. I would give this 2.5 stars 4) Lastly I tried their sourdough bread. You get a gigantic loaf for $8. Honestly it was good. The texture could use some work, but the taste was good. However I know places where I can buy sour dough loaves for a similar price that are better than here, but I am happy I got to at least try it. Overall I would say the bakery has okay to great items. I went in expecting excellence, but I think the hype just set the bar too high. I still recommend giving them a try and supporting a local business. I heard the banana bread is to die for, but it was out of my price range. Maybe someday I will give it a try! read more

I got the St. Patty's day special Guinness Cake - super rich and very deep flavors. Loved it. It was also pi day so I snagged a couple "mini" pies. The banana cream was out of this world - I took one pie and WOW. I love the texture of the brownie and I'm a sucker for cookies n cream. Also you can't go wrong with chocolate pie! This place was fantastic. We stumbled upon it in Findlay Market this Sunday and it was one of the first places we stopped at. The counter person was very friendly. I saw they were selling cinnamon rolls which is why I stopped. I ended up buying a cinnamon roll and this ridiculously good cookie pie thing - think Mrs. Fields but it was like two layers of cookie pie with frosting in between. Sunday was apparently a fried foods day too, and I bought a freshly dipped corn dog from outside the market which apparently was also Makers Bakers. I live right down the street from Makers Bakers so this is dangerous for my stomach, but such a joy to my tastebuds. Lol! By far my favorite bakery in OTR. Their cakes and cheesecakes are true perfection. And I don't say that lightly!! Tara made me a Gingerbread Cake with bourbon caramel cream cheese icing for Christmas and my God -- that's the ONLY present that I needed. It was so dang good! She also made a spice cake with caramel apple filling for my group during the Fall for my Halloween Party and people lost their minds over it. Get in there and get you some folks! This place has only been open for about 10 months and they have some of the best cheesecake that I've ever had! We came on the Findlay food tour, and met the super nice owner who told us a bit of their history. They were previously a stand/food truck on the side of the Findlay market before opening up their garage shop at Findlay. We sampled their bourbon caramel glazed cheesecake and oh my goodness it was probably one of the best cheesecakes if not the best cheesecakes that I've ever had. It was so light and tasty and delightful. I inhaled it in like two minutes! My husband who doesn't like sweets finished the whole thing! Tried a personal chicken pot pie and was so good they made a custom full sized pie. Last us two meals. Great ratio of chicken and veggies inside. Truly life-changing. Got their Key Lime Pie after my Saturday morning trip at the market today and for sure the taste is there! Kevin I believe was more than gracious going through the three choices at that time: Peach Cobbler, Blackberry Cobbler, and the Key Lime Pie. His colleague Tara was in Findlay Kitchen fixing the cinnamon rolls which I hear are good along with all their assortments for one fellow vendor came over inquiring about cheesecakes, custards, cupcakes, practically all the sweets that begin with c one can think of to see what all they have for the day. Back to the pie: crust was meh but that custard in the middle, top 2 by far. They're moving inside Findlay Market so only to bigger and better and I'll be there along the way tasting all their decadent treats. Cruel that the serving was fairly tiny. Had me wanting more. We were greeted by who I think was the owner, and he was so friendly and helpful. You could tell he was proud of what they make here. At his suggestion, I got the bourbon caramel banana pudding, and my husband got the peach cobbler (warmed and with bourbon caramel sauce!). We were blown away by our desserts- the banana pudding was a hefty size but was light in texture, there was great banana flavor, the bourbon came through nicely in the sauce, and rather than a nilla wafer cookie it tasted like they made their own cake or something that is put into the pudding. It was fantastic! My husband's cobbler was also really tasty. The peaches were perfectly sweet, and the surrounding cake had delicious caramelized bits which were perfect mixed with that caramel sauce.
