I had been wanting to try out Sweet Petite ever since Yelp introduced me to the bakery during quarantine with a virtual oatmeal cookie baking class. I finally made it there last week and it was so so gooood. I ordered the oatmeal creme pies because I wanted to try the real deal and it was so worth it. If you love the packaged snack, these taste similar but obviously even better because they are fresher, I'd be willing to guess are at least somewhat healthier and have even more cream in the middle. I also got a dozen of the cake pops and my nephews ate almost all of them with a 24 hour period. Sweet petite: Adults love it and kid approved! *also note worthy, I am not a baker but successfully baked cookies via the Yelp baking class that were delicious which I credit solely to the excellent instruction by Taren! When classes are available I highly recommend them! read more

For years I've been wanting to visit Sweet Petit. Every time I stopped by, they were closed. Also, My Mr. and I work out at the same gym with the owner's husband. He gave me her card and I've held on to it and kept it in mind. On a Saturday afternoon, my Mr brought it up and wanted to take my mom there. As we entered, who do we see? The owners husband! He was so down to earth and helpful. Especially with my mom. Loved the simple selections they had in store. Not too overwhelming. Everything was just baked! This tiny shop was decorated nicely as well. We only spent 14.00 and we got a variety of sweets. -Mini Lemon Cupcakes topped with Blueberry -Mini Lemon Cupcake topped with coconut -Mini Brownie -Mini Strawberry Cupcake -Mini Double Chocolate Cupcake -Mini Vanilla and Strawberry Macaron -Velvet creme cookies What I love about their products is that they are all bite size so you can try it all. The cupcakes were moist and not super sweet. It was hard to choose my favorite. Like he described it... my wife made these desserts with love... I believe it! If you haven't stopped by, you must! You will not be disappointed. read more

Found this local dessert shop due to Yelp, and I must say I am impressed! The employee, assume store owner was super sweet and accommodating. She ensured that I knew what I was purchasing. Also, you could tell that she took great pride in her creations. I purchased a variety of different desserts. Each one was cooked perfectly, and they all were super delicious! We purchased some as a gift as well, and everyone who had one enjoyed them as well! Do yourself a favor, and support this local bakery. They are amazing and it won't disappoint. read more

Honestly I would give SPD 3.5 stars but since that's not an option I have to give 3. I stopped by SPD on a whim after coming from Pokè Hut. I had been wanting to try them for awhile and finally happen to stumble upon its location. Upon walking in I was greeted by the owner, Taren, who was talking to two other ladies. I can honestly say Taren was superrr sweet. Her and I talked for about 45-min - 1 hr. She is a super sweet lady. However, when it comes to the desserts they are decent but I wouldn't pick coming to SPD over other locations in Cincy. There are plenty of bakeries that make the same kind of desserts that I would prefer. I do like the concept of small bites as it's a way to indulge and not feel like your over indulging. It's also a good idea for different party occasions (i.e. weddings, birthdays, showers, etc.). I tried the Red Velvet Cookie Sandwich, Lemon Bar, Oatmeal Creme Pie, Strawberry Cupcake, and a Brownie. Each dessert was decent. My favorite out of the four was the Lemon Bar. Their selection is also small. I would say they have about 7-8 items to choose from or that's what it was the day I went. Overall, SPD is a cute shop with a good concept of small bites. read more

You know how you try something and then you want it every single day for the rest of your life? Enter Sweet Petit Desserts! I have convinced myself because they're bite sized I can burn off the calories walking back and forth to my car, but honestly these delicacies are worth every calorie. What brought me in was the partnership with Helene's Ice Cream and these incredible ice cream sandwiches. The rum raisin ice cream and oatmeal cookie pairing is like a little bite sized piece of heaven in your mouth. Like if I was on death row, I'd ask for one of these as my last dessert. The strawberry cupcake and red velvet cookie were also really good and I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the case. The owner was friendly and went out of her way to make me an ice cream sandwich when they technically only serve them on the weekend so I will be back. Don't walk, run and try this place! read more

How have I not written this review yet? Taren Kinebrew's small storefront is a must-visit. Sweet Petit desserts is a bakery with the concept of small bite-sized desserts so you can satisfy your sweet tooth without all the guilt. My weak sense of self-control tests me here. It's all fun and games sampling desserts until you've eaten 8 bite-size treats in a row. When Taren recommended the brownies, I followed her lead and took some home. They look like normal unassuming brownies. What I didn't expect was how soft and gooey and chocolatey they would be. I could have had ten of these without batting an eye. These little treats are delicious and I can't wait until I have an excuse to venture back. read more

Sweet Petit Desserts is at it again! They have opened their second location in Over-the-Rhine just a few blocks from the original on Race St. The shop is bright and airy but I have to be honest, much of what was in the shop was set up for display only. There was only one display case from which you could actually order and they only had a tart, a brownie, a cake pop, and some cookies. Not really pushing the horizon on desserts there... But there were however macaroons, meringues and tons of other products set up for display that you couldn't actually order. This was a bit confusing and a tease because it all looked so good. Hopefully they will be producing these soon. Also I'm not sure if I missed it or not but there was not actually a menu here. Lastly even though there were only a few products to try, I ended up getting a chocolate cake pop (not a huge fan of chocolate) and it was hands down the BEST cake pop I have ever had and I find myself craving it. I have no idea how she kept the center so moist. The owner is a sweet heart and obviously loves what she does. The always say that food tastes the best with a little love in it ;) You can check out both locations, and place catering & event orders in person or on her website. read more

I recently discovered this place through Groupon and I was very excited to try it out. I'm a big fan of cupcakes and I really enjoy exploring the many different places downtown. I'd heard that this place was a woman-minority-owned businesses, so I wanted to go and show extra support for that reason as well. Sweet Petite is located in an inviting area, just a couple of blocks from Washington Park! Inside, the store is nice and clean. The owner was very nice and quick to greet me. I'd ordered one dozen cupcakes with my Groupon. They were mini ones though, not full-sized. Hence the name 'Sweet Petite'. They give you an assortment of flavors without you choosing. They were quite delicious! I especially loved the vanilla/buttercream & lemon/blueberry cupcakes. I was not disappointed I will be making a return. read more

Not being able to stand the thought of having wasted slices of cake at my wedding, I knew mini desserts were the way to go. There were some places that had some mini cupcakes or mini brownies, but Sweet Petit Desserts had an assortment of mini desserts that were all equally delicious. I went to visit the Sweet Petit Desserts, and met Taren who is the kindest person! She took the time to walk me through what she had, how she made her desserts and answered all of my questions in detail. She was honest with me about how many I needed and didn't try to up-sell or oversell me on anything. She let me try an assortment of desserts - mini brownies, lemon bars, cake pops, and multiple flavors of mini cupcakes. Every single thing I tried was exquisite. Her brownies were a crowd favorite! One other perk that completely sold me on Sweet Petit Desserts was having a mini cake for my husband and me to cut. She made us a very simple cake that fit our theme and was delicious along with her other desserts! Taren is the best and her desserts are reasonably priced! I highly recommend calling her for any event where you need a a sweet treat! read more

A lesson in over-promise and under-deliver. The desserts are quite good, but the website is too misleading. I was told they could work around their hours for an order both in person and according to their website, but when ordering 3 dozen desserts, I was corrected that Sundays and outside of 10-3 on Saturday my pickup could not be accommodated. Not a huge deal, but don't tell me you can give me something you're not willing to give me. Additionally, the website shows single serving pound cakes that are no longer available --- only sheets. Again, don't offer/present me with something that you can't provide. People are much happier when you under-promise and over-provide. Sweet Petit is very reasonable compared to similar options and the employees are very nice. The food is quite good, we particularly enjoyed the tartlets and Key Lime squares-- But bottom line is don't tell me something is available that's not actually available, I don't have much faith in you when I've been misled multiple times, and update that website (with your business hours on page 1)! read more

Yelp Familia! Let me tell you . . . I just left Sweet Petit Desserts for probably the 30th time (over the past two years). So, it is very inconsiderate of me to only just now be writing this review. But let me explain . . . Upon first walking into the bakery, you'll not only be greeted by stunning visuals and the smell of freshly baked goods. You'll also have the pleasure of meeting the owner, Taren, who is one of the most relatable people around. Her pleasant personality and knack for knowing exactly what people are looking for will have you walking out the door with more baked goods than you originally had in mind. Think of her as a mind-reading oracle turned baking extremist. So, what I'm basically trying to say is that, after my 29 previous visits, my first impulse was not to sit in my car and write a yelp review. It was to eat; typically, in excess. And I sincerely apologize for my lack of self restraint and willpower. It's just that the desserts are that freakin' good. Go see for yourself, BAR read more

I did a virtual cooking class. Ordered supplies online but they she said they couldn't ship. Gave me my money back. But apparently her ingredients had special spices or something. I wish they would have said that. My cookies didn't turn out but she did reach out on Instagram to help. read more

Stopped in to check it out after lunch because I was craving something sweet. As soon as I walked in I could smell the amazing baking aromas in the shop. It smelled so good. I could of just stayed in there all day. The owner of the store was who greeted me and helped me out. They have a small case of sweets you can purchase and the other case was more of a display. There wasn't a lot of options to choose from but I ended up getting some chocolate and vanilla cupcakes to take back to work. I just ate my cupcake and it was AMAZING! I'm glad I got 4 and only gave away 1 because I will be eating the other 2 here shortly. I would have gave this place a 5 stars but she didn't have any signage that explained the prices of the desserts and when I checked out she never told me my total. We were talking so that may have been why but I could have paid $100 for these 4 little cupcakes and not even realized it. I doubt that happened but a little clarity on prices would be good. read more

All the Yuminess!!!! Did a quick stop after lunch in the area. Had been wanting to check out the spot for yrs now but the hrs are a bit limited for me since i dont work DT. We tried the Oatmeal cookie and the Double Choc mini cupcake w Oreo cream and both were scrumptious. So delicately sweet ! Will definitely consider as an option for catering. read more

These desserts are the BEST! The key lime bites (I like to call this her signature item) are so flavorful and the crust is so buttery. The lemon bites are melt in your delicious. The chocolate brownies bites are moist and chocolately. The cake pops are better than any cake pop I have had before. Everything on the menu is baked with quality ingredients and the flavors and overall taste of her items is excellent! I had Sweet Petit make my boyfriend some heart shaped sugar cookies with frosting for Valentine's Day. They tasted like no other sugar cookie I have had before. After tasting these sweet treats you will be hooked and you probably will not want to buy pastries out of the store again. Give Sweet Petit Desserts a try. I promise you'll be hooked. :-) read more

Cute dessert shop if you're looking for a small bite after dinner. Their selection is small, but I think that's because most of their business is catering for events. They had cake pops, mini cupcakes (four flavors), creme cookie sandwiches, and heart shaped brownies. I got a oatmeal creme cookie sandwich (similar to a Little Debby oatmeal cream pie but like 10000x better), and my friend got two mini cupcakes ($1.50 each, so $4.50 total). The price was really affordable for what you got, which was a mini homemade dessert, and everything was yummy. They have one table inside to sit at, I think most people take their snacks to go. I wish they had more options, but overall I would highly recommend Sweet Petit for quality and value! read more

Just stopped in for a visit after picking up lunch across the street. Very friendly and patiently answered all of my questions. I purchased one vanilla and one strawberry cupcake. My husband and I live right around the corner, and Sweet Petit is our go-to whenever we want something sweet. I love that Taren's desserts are like 1-2 bite portions - so you can mix & match your order to try a little bit of everything. Plus since they're small, you can indulge but not feel stuffed afterwards. I *highly* recommend the mini oatmeal cream pie cookies and mini lemon cupcakes with blueberry frosting -- though, trust me, you can't go wrong with any choice. Taren also hosts baking classes! My husband surprised me with a cookie baking and decorating class for my birthday. She got there early - had music playing and coffee waiting for us, then walked the 2 of us through baking, gave a few baking tips and let us decorate the cookies to take home. It was a ton of fun and would make a nice date, or girls or kids outing. read more

A friend and I visited Sweet Petit Desserts after lunch in OTR a few weeks ago, and I was a bit disappointed. There was not a great quantity of offerings--probably a display case and a half that mostly contained decorations, not sweets. The women working didn't seem all that interested in what they were doing or whether or not we would buy a treat. We tried a macaroon and cupcake each--both were good. Honestly, there are so many other places in Cincinnati I could visit to settle my sweet tooth craving...Sweet Petit would do in a pinch, but is nothing to write home about. read more

Glad I was able to finally try this place outside of Yelp events. The new location is beautiful and the eats were amazing! She had a limited menu and you have to buy by the dozen or half dozen. I will definitely go back again when the full menu is available. This place is great to think of when ordering for a party or big event and you want small desserts! read more

This is another place that I wanted to give 3.5 stars to and ended up rounding down. The ladies who were working on the day we went were incredibly friendly and the location on Vine couldn't be better. Unfortunately, and as another reviewer noted, upon entering the store you are likely to find yourself confused. There are a variety of items on display that are not for sale. Huh???? And what is for sale is quite limited in terms of selection. The good news is that the vanilla cupcake I chose was absolutely fantastic. The bad news is that unless Sweet Petit eliminates the confusion and increases their selection, I suspect they will not be in business long. With the best donuts in Cincinnati just across the street, they have formidable competition. read more

The cupcakes were delicious. Tried the lemon and strawberry this time. I will be back for more.

Honestly never had such an exceptional experience with baking than I did with Sweet Petit Desserts. Disclaimer: I'm writing this amidst the COVID-19 state lockdown orders and have yet to visit this establishment in person. Despite not having set foot in Sweet Petit Desserts I did have the pleasure of experiencing the joy of baking from home through a virtual baking class on Zoom hosted by the owner, Taren Kinebrew, free of charge. Rewinding just a bit, I had ordered a handmade baking kit for the recipe for this session prior and my friend picked it up for me curbside while I was at work. He had no idea what he was picking up or what it had to do with, but when Taren was handing off my kit to him first impression was that she was a super kind and warm-hearted person-that immediately showed during the live online sesh to bake her speciality oatmeal cookies with brown butter icing. Taren was quick to show off her passion and genuine love for baking and teaching others about her techniques. This showed not only through her demeanor, but the results of my baking following her instruction (I'm a beginner baker at best) as the cookies came out as if on display in the store. What's even better is the taste came to match. I can't thank Taren, and I'm sure all of Sweet Petit Desserts, enough for such a fun and delicious experience from the comforts of my own kitchen. I'll be sure to stop by when life returns back to normal, and so should you! read more

Very very cute! It's a small place in the Washington Park Area, very nice Ladies making very cute mini desserts. I have to say that for me the looks were better than the taste, but I did enjoy those bite-size sweets. For me the key-lime small bites were the highlight. The selection is rather limited and today most the things were vanilla flavoured, but I hope next time I can try something chocolate-like! I wish the price was a bit lower (currently 9.50 per 6 small bites), however I can imagine it takes a lot of work to make those mini-sweets. Congratulations for being the Finalist in Martha Stewart's American Made contest! All the best! read more

If I could I would give them six stars. I ate my cake pop before my brothers finished their cupcakes. I had a vanilla cakepop with sprinkles. My Gramps had a lemon cupcake and it was to die for. What a wonderful shop! If you are buying anything in here, just go ahead and buy double. You are going to want seconds! These treats may be petit, but they are anything but small in flavor and richness. I had the brownies and the red velvet cookies with cream cheese filling. They were both to die for.
