I have to admit! Although the service is friendly and communication is great the food is lackluster. The cookies are oddly hard at first and eventually soften up in the mouth. The cake cups are incredibly dry and the frosting is gritty. Usually I would just shrug off $10 but I'm kinda disappointed in spending that. Sorry guys! Just not a return customer here read more

Have been meaning to visit for quite some time. Needed treats for my mom's birthday, so I stopped in. Was instantly grateful I stopped by when I saw their sign out front offering teachers a special treat. It's just really nice to be at school all day, giving, giving, giving... then going to a business that respects & honors my colleagues & me. It was just a great feeling. Then, on top of all of that kindness, I had a great conversation with all three associates there... THEN- the cupcakes were delicious! It hurts me to write this but I have to...I even got my twin brother's input on this review because this cake meant a lot to both of us. So it was our birthday and after endless weeks of searching and talking to other bakeries, Oliver's Desserts was where I decided to order our cake. With me living in Hawaii and my brother living in Cincinnati it was difficult to keep this cake a secret and find a place to make it. I filled out an order form on their website and was emailed a day or two later with details to finalize my order. I had made sure and wrote several times in email and when I spoke on the phone to Courtney that this cake must not be made with a computerized image and that it had to be made of fondant. The order form (photo attached) even specified that the cake would be made with fondant. HOWEVER, the cake was made with a Buffalo Bills paper computerized image, UGH! (We peeled it off before eating of course.) I called Oliver's on Dec. 21st and 22nd to confirm my cake and the pick up time. On the phone I was told "we close at 5 so pick up your cake anytime before 5", which is what we tried to do. We arrived on the 23rd at 1pm to find that they didn't even have my order! This was devastating to me because it was my birthday and my first birthday with my twin brother in over 8 years, and not to mention I already paid $135 for this cake! The woman working at the time said I could get the cake at exactly 5pm because that was apparently my pick up time anyways (which that is not what they told me on the phone the day before), however, the place closes at 5 so I am not sure why we would arrive directly at 5 if that's the time they close (that didn't make too much sense to us). BUT since they couldn't find the cake or the order, the woman working at the time asked a lot of questions and then said she was sorry but we could come back and pick it up later because she had to talk to the owner who hopefully had the order somewhere. I politely begged for them to deliver it by 6:30 or 7pm later that day which she said would be no problem at all. Fast forward to later that evening when I received a text and a call that the cake was delivered to the house and left on the front porch around 4:00 pm which we said was fine since we told them we wouldn't be home until later on around 6:30. Once we arrived home and opened the cake we found that it was not the exact cake I ordered...and my stomach sank. I specifically ordered it with a fondant 2D buffalo bills logo on the top, not a computerized image. My family urged me to contact the bakery and upon me contacting them, Oliver's Desserts actually blamed me in a text saying that I was the reason the cake was rushed with a computerized image on the top since I apparently told them I needed it by 5pm...which is all a lie because I ordered it weeks in advance and upon pick up said it could be delivered by 630pm, and there was no rush. Anyways, you can take the pictures I attached to this review and see for yourself. I attached my email order form, pictures of the cake I asked for and a picture of the cake they threw together for me, and pictures of texts with whom I believe was the owner. Honestly, I don't own a business, but I do know people that do and they would do anything in order to make their customers happy. I didn't appreciate being blamed for them "rushing" my cake, and I didn't appreciate not being offered any type of discount after the cake wasn't exactly what I ordered (since fondant is obviously more money than some computer picture put on top). It has been over a week now and at the time I was pissed, but even now I find myself still pissed about this entire cake situation. I would not recommend ordering your cake from here since the flavor was just okay, and nothing to take a picture of and brag about, and their customer service is completely lacking (besides delivering the cake). read more

I love these guys! I met them originally at The Best of The East event where I got to sample their amazing macarons. Everyone was so nice and I received a coupon to return to their storefront. I came recently to finally check them out! It was early afternoon so they were out of some things, but they still had a decent selection. The guy at the counter was so nice and explained all their items and other things they have at certain times or that you may order on their website! I am not normally a cake person, but their cupcakes were more a complete dessert than just cake. They had pie themed ones for the upcoming Pie Day. I selected Blueberry Pie, Banana Cream Pie, and Chocolate Cream pie cupcakes. Each one was delicious, super moist, and unique. In addition I got a Oreo cheesecake brownie (perfectly creamy and fudgy), a mini cheesecake, and a lucky charm cookie... complete with rainbow filling. All super yummy! I am now convinced anything you bought from here would be great! As I was checking out I realized my coupon had just expired but they were nice enough to still honor it. They have a free rewards program that you sign up for on the tablet they use for check out, so don't forget to do so. I look forward to trying more tasty treats in the future! We had such a weird up-and-down experience here! We got a ton of stuff b/c we are from Indy and planned to take some back home. The oreo-cheesecake brownie was AMAZING--probably the best brownie I've ever had. And we each had a macaroon (I had churro and BF had pistachio) and they were also DELISH! BUT...then we each had another dessert later. I had the chocolate chip cookie sandwich, and my BF had a cookies and cream cupcake. These were both sooooo disappointing. The cookie sandwich hardly had any buttercream, and the buttercream that was there was completely flavorless. And the cookie itself was BLANDSVILLE. Hardly any flavor, and not even very sweet. I finally had a chance to stop by Oliver's Desserts after seeing them on Instagram for awhile. I'll be honest, I made it a point to come here to try their desserts because I am looking for someone to do my 30th birthday cake. They are also pretty far from where I live, so I had to have a reason to come out this way. However, I am pleased with their desserts and will be putting my cake request in. I tried their Red Velvet Cupcake, Pink Champagne Strawberry Cupcake, and Cosmic Brownie. One thing I can say about both cupcakes is they were moist. Sometimes bakeries have a hard time getting Red Velvet right. However, the Red Velvet here is pretty good. I also enjoyed the Oreo icing on top of the Red Velvet. It was creamy and flavorful, and went well with the Red Velvet flavor. The Pink Champagne was also moist and tasted exactly how it was named. It wasn't overpowering but you could taste the champagne flavor. The Red Velvet also tasted how it was suppose to. Now about the brownie. In my opinion, this was not that impressive. It was my least favorite item. I just felt it was lacking in that true brownie flavor. It was chocolaty and creamy but it lacked in flavor and richness. It was creamy but didn't really have a taste. I guess in my mind I was expecting it to have a little more of a homemade taste and feel. It was kind of bland. I didn't quite get the homemade, grandma made these feel with the brownie. We used Oliver's for our daughters first birthday party smash cake. The size of the cake was perfect - big and pretty enough for all the pics and small enough for my daughter to have fun with. Did I mention that the cake was delicious?! It was meant to serve four people but I think everyone at the party had a bite once the word got around about how good it was. We got a chance to try four of their cupcakes that that they gave us on the house for having to wait a bit for the cake to be done the day I picked it up. We'll definitely be back! read more

Stumbled upon this fantastic place on Facebook a few weeks ago when I saw one of my family members did a review for this establishment awhile ago for her daughter's custom cake. I finally made it there last week for the keto cheesecake cupcakes. They were so dang good and totally worth the 30 minute drive. Hey, a girl loves her sweets! I love supporting small businesses especially bakeries. They are my absolute favorite! I've driven by this place multiple times and always wanted to give it a try. Today was that opportunity. Sadly, I was extremely disappointed. I was greeted kindly when I walked in the door. I inquired about the cupcakes options and flavoring in the case. She was very brief and her descriptions and told me that the snowball cupcake which was the one that I inquired about would have to be iced. I told her that was no issue that I could wait. The snowball cupcake in the case had a rosette on top with some beautiful little sparkly frosting and some coconut. I advised her that the coconut was not necessary but I was hopeful that the sparkly sprinkles would be on top. She very briefly iced the cupcake handed it to me, totaled the invoice for my two items and put the cupcake in a typical takeout plastic container and quickly closed the lid smashing down all the icing including the rosette. I explained my disapproval stating, "Oh no, do you not have any other container to place it in to maintain the icing rosette?" She replied, "No we're out of those." I went to Oliver's Desserts yesterday for the first time after seeing great reviews online. I walked in and looked at the selection. The employee told me about their cupcakes. 'Classic' 'Vegan' and 'keto'. They had a toffee crunch cupcake. I wanted the regular classic cupcake. Which was a bit pricy at $4.00 for the size of the cupcake. When I returned home and took the cupcake out of the container I noticed the cupcake felt heavy. Not light, like a normal cupcake. Upon removing the wrapper I knew this was not a normal regular cupcake. Not even a cupcake at all. The color had more of the color you'd find of a muffin. I took a bite of it. First of all I thought the topping would be vanilla icing with bits of toffee crunch. For some reason I could taste coconut. The actual underside (Cupcake base) was dense and thick, that of a muffin. It did NOT taste vanilla at all. It tasted like banana or whole wheat. I had my husband try a bite and he thought the same thing, that it didn't taste like a regular vanilla cupcake (Besides the toffee crunch). I was extremely disappointed since the website, nor in the store did they say that their classic cupcakes were anything out of the ordinary. No where did it say that the classic cupcakes were made with a different kind of batter. If you're going to offer classic cupcakes, actually give the customer a classic/regular cupcake. Vanilla batter, light and airy. Not a muffin or at least be honest with customers. We will NOT be returning! I ended up throwing the rest of the cupcake in the trash. read more

I have been coming to this bakery two years and wanted to support a small business, but my experience was so poor I won't be back. I was told that I had to order my cake online, so I went online and described what I want and included pictures. I was charged $50, which felt fair as I only asked for a small cake for my son's third birthday. My sister picked up the cake for me, so I unfortunately did not see it until our little party. It looked nothing like the picture I asked for. I was unable to talk to anyone in person, but no one advised me that maybe what I wanted didn't work or what... I have no idea how anyone would look at what I asked for then give me the cake that I received. It was only correct in the colors and flavor. I basically paid $50 for a "baby cake". It looked like an oversized cupcake. I have been ordering from Patricia's in the bridal district since my wedding years ago, and this was an entirely different experience for the price. The cake also was dry and did not taste like a $50 baby cake (I ordered strawberry). I have stopped for cupcakes and cake pops in the past, but I will never order a cake from here again. I do not understand how you are going to charge more than I have paid at other bakeries in the bridal district, then not take the time to get my order correct or make the situation right. I was already at my son's birthday, so I was too far to drive back. I asked for a partial refund, since I was essentially sold a baby cake, but it was declined. They sent me back my order, putting the blame on me for the "miscommunication", but I'm sorry this was not my fault. I only declined the "topper" to use my son's own trucks, but there is absolutely no way that topper would have fit in that tiny cake. Also, apparently declining the plastic topper meant that I was declining for them to decorate my cake. So my advice if you are going to order a cake it to be over the top detailed about what you want, check it before you leave and make them fix it. They will not make it right otherwise. I also do not recommend strawberry at all, and the cupcakes were much better than the cake I paid for. If you are looking for more than cupcakes, I recommend going back to patricias, especially for a wedding. read more
