We have been enjoying Holston's for a while. Every time we visit, we intend to take a photo & leave a review. The problem is, we end up hoovering the slice before we remember. Today, we exercised a bit more self control. My hubby and I visit weekly. We get 2 slices, different flavors. We plan to try them all. There are so many flavors!! The cheesecake is divine!! Haven't had a flavor we have not loved. A couple I HIGHLY recommend are the blueberry crumble and the lemon supreme. Holston's Baking Company is a cute little shop with big flavors, and it completely lived up to the hype on our visit. While the space itself isn't large, they had an impressive selection of cookies, cakes, and cheesecakes for a Wednesday afternoon--plenty to tempt you the moment you walk in. I went straight for the bourbon caramel swirl cheesecake, and that's when things got even better. The girl behind the counter casually mentioned they use Weller's bourbon . Even better? She proudly said she gets to eat whichever flavor she wants. I joked that sounded like a great perk--she laughed and revealed she's actually the daughter of the owners. Loved that little personal touch. My wife is more of a traditionalist and chose the original cheesecake with caramel swirl. She said it was incredibly creamy and very good. Mine was just as creamy, with a noticeable punch of bourbon flavor balanced perfectly by the caramel, and finished with a crispy, satisfying crust. Bottom line: definitely good, definitely delicious. This is the kind of place that makes you plan your next visit before you've even finished your slice. The only dessert that stopped me in my tracks was the salted Carmel white mocha cheesecake. I can't believe how good this was. I was leaning towards a 3 rating until I took a bite of this. Cookies: definitely taste homemade but not the best cookies I've had Brownie: reminds you of a boxed mix with all the gooey goodness in the entire center, I enjoyed this Cupcake: I already have a favorite cupcake place and these don't compare, they were decent Edible cookie dough: very tasty, I can only eat a little I would for sure stop back in if I'm the area. Their cheesecake and cheesecake pie are so delicious. The original cheesecake is Heaven on a plate. You can taste the vanilla and hint of citrus. The crust was so buttery. The texture was also perfect. Some cheesecakes are way too dense, but this one was creamy with perfect mouthfeel. I've been eating and baking cheesecakes for friends and family for years. I just had one of their cheesecakes. My son brought one over for Thanksgiving. First off when I opened the box it was beautifully decorated. It was one of the best I've eaten. And that says a lot, because we make white chocolate cheesecakes and give to friends at Christmas Time. read more

Just read about this bakery as it is in the running for the best bakery in Ohio, so of course I had to try them out as soon as possible. Bought some eclairs and cheesecake which were delicious. While we were being rung up, the gentleman asked who there was trying it for the first time. As much as everyone loves this place, it was and employee (possibly even the owner?) who caused this review. To make very long story short, I placed a large order, and the next day stopped in to see if a revision could be made. Instead of simply saying "no," the manager, or whomever the sales clerk fetched from the back, refunded my entire order and started walking away. When I asked "you refunded my entire order?" She simply said "yep" and strutted to the back. Before I am accused of being a Karen, I made a very simple request, and if the answer was no, that was fine and I would have just gone with what I originally ordered. This was some of the best cheesecake I have ever had!!! It's a French style cheesecake and it is no wonder that this bakery was voted best bakery in Ohio by Midwestern magazine this year. I had the Tiramisu cheesecake and my husband had Peanut Butter cup cheesecake and holy cow it was incredibly delicious!!! I'm looking forward to trying more!!! The service is so good. Great desserts and a sweet staff! I just noticed their store front while I was across the street and had a sweet tooth. This was the perfect bite! Great selection! The chocolate chip cookies are so buttery and soft! They're a 2 bite size and wonderful. I also tried the carrot cake cheesecake cupcake. Wonderful taste, perfect ratio of carrot cake & cream cheese frosting! Not overly sweet, which I loved. 100% better than the Cheesecake Factory carrot cake cheesecake! Woo! Holston's grand opening was a fun one with upbeat employees, a super clean, bright space, plenty of cheesecakes and even a DJ! The Holstons know how to throw a party! We arrived a little late to the party as the DJ said there had been "lines out the door all day." We were lucky to squeeze behind a few folks for a short wait. In the meantime, we watched the two employees behind the counter busting their butts and making happy customers! The key lime pies were a huge hit with the public so sadly we missed out, looking forward to giving these guys a try! The cookies and cream cheesecake was good... the sweet cream on top helped balance out the tart cheesecake. It was all around a good single serving. Buttercream cookies, flurries, Buckeyes, brownie bites, cupcakes, pies and cheesecakes fill the menu of Holstons, unfortunately no gluten free. I hope they can find a way to add a few GF options over time. Ample seating inside if you need to grab a quick bite with the kiddos or meet friends. Despite living on the other side of Cincy, a visit to Holstons is well worth the 30 minute drive! There's a great selection of cheesecakes with both classic and fun, inventive flavors. And the slices are a good size, enough to get 1.5/2 servings per slice. The other treats are equally delicious (and well sized)! Highly recommend the cannolis and buckeyes, the pumpkin roll is also very good. One of the best parts of Holstons is how kind their staff are. It's clear that Holstons puts as much care into their employees as they do their treats. Holy crap this place is AMAZING We just noticed this place for the first time today. Went in to check it out. Tried the Oreo cupcake and it was PERFECT. Light and fluffy cake with bits or Oreos mixed in. Topped with frosting that was light and just the right amount of sweet. I feel strongly about gritty overly sweet frosting and sticky dense but yet also somehow dry cupcakes. NONE of that here. Possibly the best cupcake I have ever had, and that is the truth. Great treats! We came Sunday evening and there was still a full selection. It's also nice that they have plenty of seating. The cookies are small but very good. The cookie cake was great also and their frosting is perfect- not too sweet. The cookie dough stuffed vanilla cupcake was a great combo and the raspberry cheesecake had lots of raspberry and a great graham crust. I love that they have mini cheesecakes so you can try multiple flavors. Definitely will be back for more! read more

Just saw this bakery today while driving and had to try it. First off they have late business hours ..WHAT?? A bakery with late hours, we've been wanting this for years. Walked in and was immediately greeted by the owner who was extremely friendly, met his lovely wife who does all the baking from scratch and he gave the tour of all the goodies. I went in hungry so I bought a little of just about everything. Carrot cake cupcake, chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake, chocolate chip cookies, bourbon buckeye balls, oatmeal whoopie pie, peanut butter whoopie pie, pumpkin cheesecake and Raspberry cheesecake!!! This place is soooo good! Everything we sampled was delicious! Can't wait to try their fruit pies and I'm excited to place a Thanksgiving order! The team member that assisted my spouse and I was very kind and helpful. The bakery is clean and well furnished with an easily accessible location. For these attributes I rate the business two stars. We have tried this place twice. Both times we have purchased over $50.00 in items to sample and times we were both underwhelmed. Considering the possibility we initially selected items that did align well with our tastes at our first visit, we decided to give it a second try. Wish I could say great things about the second try and the taste of the items we purchased but bother were an epic fail for us. The small cheesecake cups were mediocre at best and lacked the flavor we had anticipated. The chocolate chip cookies or possibly the American Butter Cream (called ABC at this bakery) in the center was overly salty. I am an avid fan of cookie cakes with icing and was disappointed in the flavor both times. It may work for you this was just my experience. read more
