I was very disappointed with my experience. The cupcakes were extremely dry, and the lemon bars were the worst I've ever had. There was a time in 2018 when I went to Tres belle almost 4 times a week to either get myself a cupcake or bring in treats for my office staff. Earlier this year, I went there to get a half dozen cupcakes and let me tell you, they were oh so dry, the icing melted in the car and the cupcakes tasted like a bad mix of muffins plus I don't know what. I will say the icing decor was beautiful but the buttercream frosting tasted old and the cupcakes themselves were pretty hard/not fluffy and soft. I also got a cup of coffee while there and added creamer from the store and it must have been old b/c it curdled in my cup. I hate leaving negative reviews but this was one I just couldn't ignore. I don't know if they are using a different batter but the texture you would want from a cupcake or baked good just wasn't there. read more

Her friend called & emailed with the design ideas and I took care of payment and then pickup on the day of the party. My God son graduated from St. X this week and his graduation cake came fron Tres Belle. When I went to pick up the cake, I couldn't help but get a few little treats. I got a Tiramisu macaron which tasted like it was in a fridge too long and two little oatmeal and raisin cookie sandwiches which were awesome! On to my cake retrieving mission. Tres Belle was SUPPOSED to be the only bakery in the city that did the kind of cake that his mom wanted. She wanted a Sprinkle Explosion Cake with blue and white frosting on the cake (St. X colors) and the cake itself the color of the college that he's going to attend. For those Yelpers who are not familiar with an explosion cake, I'll fill you in. When you cut into the cake, it is dyed the colors that you want and sprinkles or candy spill out from the center of the cake when it's cut . They are really cool and quite pretty. Well, he cut into his cake and SURPRISE... NO SPRINKLES... NO NOTHING spilling out of the cake. Just a plain ole cake with frosting. This bakery has limited hits as most do but consider yourself lucky if you make it in. The cake decorations are so creative and they have a wide array of fillings, sponges and frosting. They sell decorations and baked goods and hot drinks as well. I ordered a chai latte when ordering a cake once and it was delicious. I know they are busy at work (you can see it from the counter) but sometimes it can seem a little off-putting. I needed a cake for a Harry Potter themed baby shower and they were so great to squeeze me in. I had also priced a cake at a bakery in Dayton. The prices were significantly different so please know they are not cheap. The work, however is amazing and the cake was delicious!! I reached out to Tres Belle's to do the cake for our wedding. The staff I spoke to on the phone was very nice and very knowledgeable. They explained everything to me as I wasn't up to speed on the wedding cake nuances. As well comparing prices to other bakeries, they were on the more affordable end! I went in for a tasting (which is complimentary). They have the cutest store with a TON of goodies. The wedding cake tasting was presented so well and I really enjoyed them all! My favorite was actually the pistachio which I didn't even think I was a pistachio fan. Their cakes are so soft and light. Like little pillows of love. My husband and I tried many bakeries in the area in our quest for the best cake, and we were surprised when the first spot we tried was our favorite. Tres Belle offers very competitive pricing and free delivery over $500 for wedding cakes in the area. If you are interested in trying the wedding cake here, make an appointment online and up to 4 people can come for the tasting. They will have 5 flavors of cake and filling to try, though they have pretty much every flavor you can think of. Should you book with them, you can have a follow-up appointment and pick 5 different flavors (or the same) to try with 4 people. This helped us narror down exactly what we wanted. They did an amazing job with our cake. I wanted a semi-naked cake, and ended up going with a "skim coat" of frosting since we picked three different flavors and colors (Raspberry Chip, German Chocolate and Pink Champagne). They coordinated with our florist to create a cascading effect down the side, it was better than I could have ever imagined. The cake was to-die for and immediately gone at our wedding too! The pink champagne cupcake, decorated with a glittery rose piped frosting, has a subtle flavor with some preserves inside. Black raspberry chocolate chip was simply amazing. Moist, not overly sweet and altogether wonderful. I'd come back just for this cupcake again! They have many more flavors so you can go wild! We tried the donut holes. Looked pretty but the cake donut underneath was stale and dry. Whoopie pie/cookie was good and so were the cake pops. I'd stick to the cakes here for sure. There is seating indoors and they also serve coffee as well as savory sandwiches. There's something for everyone in here, especially if you're looking for a treat. I went to a bakery closer to my house, but they were closed. I realized I still needed donuts to take to my nieces and nephews, and decided to stop into Tres Belle on a whim. I didn't even know if they had donuts, but to my delight they did. And they were good. They had 8 different varieties in the display case, and I bought one of each. The favorites among the group were the cookies and cream donut and the plain (it might have been an "old fashioned" but I'm not sure). Red Velvet came in near the top also. Accessibility- there's a slight bump going in the door, but it's very wheelchair accessible. It's worth mentioning that this bakery is VERY inclusive. I happened to be followed in by a couple that had scheduled a cake tasting and a young lady mentioned that she was there for the gluten free and dairy free tasting. The employee waiting on her started listing off all of the gluten and dairy free options as well as vegetarian options and I was impressed that the list was so long. It was a busy season, but when I got there to pick up my cake it went very smoothly. I came home to celebrate the occasion with that Pickled Rick cake and it was a winner. The cake's flavor was vanilla and lemon. It was so good, the richness of both flavors just compliment each other and oh the softness of the cake was like a pillow. The best customer service experience I've ever encountered! I emailed them about wanting to make a special cake for my boyfriend's birthday. We both love the show Rick and Morty so I asked them if they could do a Rick and Morty cake. They said that they could without hesitation! I told them exactly what I wanted and when I went to pick up the cake, it was exactly how I imagined it. I bought a few donuts as well when I went in to pick up the cake. They have some really unique flavors like blueberry and one with cinnamon toast crunch on top! Here's where I encountered a bit of a setback: I placed the box of donuts I bought on top of the box with the cake in it so that I could carry everything easily. When I got home and opened the box to look at the cake again, part of the design had been smashed by the lid! I was so distraught and near tears. I messaged Tres Belle to see if they had any tips on how to fix it. They told me that I could bring it back in and they could fix it within 15 minutes. Are you kidding me?! We got the Tres Belle desserts at Gabby's during Burger Week. We tried both the Jacked Up Joe cupcake, and the Sugar Momma dessert. Sugar Momma was by far everyone's favorite. Not only was it adorable, but it tasted great too. One of my pet peeves is when a brownie is advertised as beging "fudgy," and it is anything but. Not the case here. Brownies were oh so fudgy. They had a rich chocolate flavor . It may have been one of the best brownies I have ever had. All the flavors on the dessert worked well together. It is obvious that the dessert was well planned for maximum flavor and cuteness. Jacked Up Joe didn't really wow us. I had some high hopes as I ventured into Tres Belle, on Reading just a block north of the wedding district, as I had heard good things from multiple sources. But sadly, things did not go well. This is the kind of place that at first glance I think anyone would want in their neighborhood - a locally owned boutique-ish bakery with high quality baked goods where you can sit done and have a light and unhurried breakfast, lunch, or snack. Service stood up to that test - the ladies there were very friendly, and answered all my questions with a smile. But the food fell flat - very flat. Now I want to stop here and say this - if you look at their display case, it is very, very clear that they specialize in cakes and cupcakes. Unfortunately, I am not much into either of those, but I should have known to order at least one of these specialty items, and I didn't. What did sounds good as I read the giant menu on the northern wall of the customer area was the stuffed croissants. I am always on the lookout for a good croissant, and stuffed? with the fillings baked right in rather than cut and filled like a sandwich? that sounded absolutely wonderful. I ordered 1 each of the goetta stuffed and the bacon-n-egg stuffed, and while they looked great, they were, well, awful. First, these had the texture of a grocery store croissant - all soft and kinda stale, rather than having nice lightly chewy layers held in by lightly crispy outer shell. Worst though was the filling - in both cases, they smelled and tasted spoiled. I hazarded only a single a bite of each to be sure I was kinda shocked at this point. Here I was in a clearly boutique-ish bakery, and these were worse than a breakfast croissant one can buy in a grocery case, as I can say for those that at least none of the few I have eaten have contained spoiled meat. I also had a cookie. It was solidly good. I really do need to go back and sample a cupcake. I am all but certain those are much, much better. I mean, look at the photo in Amanda M's review - if you like cupcakes, you'd want that, right? Between the cookie and how good the cupcakes looked, I am bumping the rating here from a 1 to a 2. But as bad as those croissants were, I am in no hurry to make that return visit. read more

I learned an important lesson today: When you go to a cupcake shop, buy cupcakes! I guess that should be obvious, but that's the way I am sometimes. I've tried some other things from Tres Belle, and wasn't wildly impressed, so I decided to try their cupcakes. They are large (muffin size), fluffy and moist, with really good flavor. The Strawberry Bavarian has some strawberries in it, and a bit of Bavarian cream inside (just enough for flavor, but not so much as to make it soggy), and a nice topping of strawberry American buttercream. The Chocolate Bomb is an excellent chocolate cupcake topped with a large swirl of decadent chocolate frosting. They have about 10 flavors of cupcakes, so everyone can be happy. read more

Many years ago Tracy made wedding cakes out of her house, one of which was ours. The quality and attention to detail was fantastic, and was a centerpiece of our weekend. I was thrilled to see Tracy had opened a shop, and finally got the chance to stop in a few times. Her baked goodies were delicious, and the cupcakes are just as amazing as I remember our cake being. We love the cakes at Tres Belle. We typically just pick up one of the cakes they have in the display for dessert. They are always moist and the flavors are great. Not as much selection that way (usually only have 3-4 cakes available), but we have yet to find one we did not like. This shop is a working bakery so you can order decorated cakes, large bakery orders, etc. you can also come in and grab a donut and coffee. The shop is set up with a working station directly in the center of the shop so you can see the bakers working away right in front of you. They have large coolers with desserts and cakes waiting for pick ups. The shop offers a variety of coffee drinks, danishes, cupcakes, cookies, etc. The shop itself is so cute and chic. There's seating available inside or you can take it to go. This place is perfect for a professional cake order or for a quick danish.
