I tried the Brown Bear latte with almond milk which was sooo delicious along with the everything bagel croissant with chive cream cheese. My God on today it was absolutely amazing! It was flaky on the outside and soft on the inside just how I like it. The staff was super sweet and gave great recommendations. Literally can't wait to get back and try more of the pastries! The place overall is fairly small but there's a few tables to dine in. There is metered street parking downtown and they get really busy on the weekends and sell out very quickly so I would recommend trying them during the week when it's more calm. read more

This little bakery is excellent! We were so thrilled with our experience here - I highly recommend stopping here when walking OTR. We had a chocolate croissant, an apple cider cold brew, an a mocha latte. The apple cider cold brew was interesting, unlike anything I'd had before. We waited in line for 20-30 minutes before ordering. The staff were extremely helpful with recommendations and explanations. We tried the cinnamon roll, everything bagel croissant, and a blueberry poppyseed cornbread(?) pastry. The pastries were all so good and we would get all of them again. The brown bear latte was sooo good. Even getting there around 30 minutes after opening, 3-4 items were sold out. Inside the bakery is small and the later you go in the day the less stuff is available. I have tried a lot here before and this was a pretty good day. The chocolate croissant was standard and the beet focaccia bread was better than I expected. The savory options here are often unique. While the sweet stuff is mixed. My favorite is still the orange zest cinnamon roll. I think you have to come here with an open mind, because sometimes I think the flavors are weird but I usually like it! Service is usually nice too. One time I was ordering with my girlfriend and the man behind the counter got frustrated with us like rolling his eyes asking if this was together or separate. This quaint coffee shop moves the line through quickly which was great, I think most people have been before so they already know what they want to order. Being surrounded by amazing bakeries in the Bay Area, I still find Brown Bear *up there* as one of my favourites, with their interesting, fresh produce-inspired flavours, and the flakiness of their pastries. I often find myself sad and disappointed if I ended up in Cincy on a Monday and it is closed... The place is understandably quite busy as I think it's simply the best in the region, and possible the whole state..? And if my stomach could just double in capacity, I would've loved to try the focaccia too. Stopped by around 10am on the day after July 4th and sadly, most of the savories pastries were already sold out! But that's my fault since I know many of the reviews have stated that. I ordered the seasonal orange blossom latte which was fantastic, flavorful, and not-too-sweet. I also ordered the miso butter cookie, the salty choco chip cookie (SO GOOD), a pain au chocolat, the focaccia, and the breakfast sandwich. Overall, the coffee drinks and laminated pastry dough was fantastic. I took off a star because I honestly was not wowed by the breakfast sandwich. I do love a souffle egg, but it wasn't super tender or moist and I really think I would've enjoyed a sauce on the sandwich. There may have been a dijoinnaise on there, but not nearly enough sauce for me to taste. I also wish they had some breads for sale since I know they sell bread a their sister bakery. I do want to come back earlier next time to try their savory pastries and I would love to try their sister bakery Two Seven Two as well. read more

The line in the mornings can get pretty gnarly (like, out the door & around the block gnarly), especially on the weekends, since they make everything fresh and can run out of favorite items quickly. This most recent visit, I got the everything bagel croissant on a friend's recommendation. Sooooo good!!!! I will be getting this again at future visits. Their menu is so fresh and has seasonal additions, making each visit different and memorable. LOVE! There are a few different seating options inside the space, but given the popularity & traffic on the weekends, it may be difficult to secure a spot. I have seen people working/studying here though! Came here with a friend who frequents this place and I'm pretty impressed. We lined up on Easter at opening and they already had a line out the door, even in the light drizzle. The line stayed that way over the next hour that we hung out there. They do sell out of items so it's best to get there as early as you can! I'm more of a sweet tooth when it comes to baked goods, but the everything bagel croissant is a must-have here. The staff heat it before serving, and it's truly the best of both worlds - the butteriness and flakiness of a croissant, with the garlic scallion seasme flavors of an everything bagel. The raspberry almond croissant is also delicious, a good balance of tart and nutty. The salty chocolate chip cookie was also good - large chocolate chunks throughout. The vegan matcha brownie was an adventurous pick; I'm usually iffy about vegan baked goods, and this one had a texture closer to a fudge than to a brownie. I liked the chocolate and mint combo but couldn't get a hint of matcha. Similarly, the raspberry matcha doodle had plenty of raspberry but 0 matcha. Overall, the limited edition matcha flavored items fell flat, but the goods off the regular menu were great and reasonably priced. The space itself is bright, large enough to seat a few small groups, and nice to hang out in. Staff are also helpful and friendly. Their scallion cream cheese croissant is near the top of my list of best pastries I've tried this year. It's better than a similar one from Radio Bakery in NYC. Perfect lamination and awesome scallion flavor. I also LOVED the cinnamon roll. Absolutely incredible. We stopped in to try their famous salted chocolate chip cookies but they make quite clear that they are not a one trick pony. They have innumerable baked goods they throw in your face the second you try to order coffee or anything else, and everything looks AMAZING. We both ordered one of their seasonal lattes, I think it was pumpkin. They were delicious and very visually pleasing. In addition to the cookie, we ordered one of their quite large cinnamon rolls and a savory pastry, it had like feta, grape tomatoes, basil maybe, and sesame seeds. They also have a fucking POTATO BEAR CLAW that looked better than sex but I didn't want to overdo it. Upon reflection, that was an error. The cinnamon roll was soft, not too sweet, and absolutely delicious. The savory pastry was INCREDIBLE.
