I've been wanting to try this place forever and finally did. The cafe is nestled at the end of an incredible nursery and gallery complex. It was busy when we arrived on a Saturday but it gave us plenty of time to browse. They take your number and text you when your table is ready. Lots of choices for a hearty and/or healthy lunch. Two of us had salads and one had a chicken salad sandwich. We all loved our meals. It's a bit loud in the atrium but it's a beautiful spot. Highly recommend as a fun destination meal! read more

What a beautiful place to enjoy a relaxing, satisfying Sunday brunch. I didn't have reservations (party of three) but luckily it was a nice day and we didn't care if we were indoors or outdoors. The wait was only 25 mins, but I swear it was faster than that. Our table was surrounded by tranquil Japanese Maple trees. I even spotted a Koi pond. I ordered their Egg Benedict. It was served on a homemade biscuit that was light, buttery and slightly crumbly instead of a toasted English muffin. After we ate, we walked around the nursery and went inside another building where you could taste a plethora of infused balsamic vinegar and olive oil. What an amazing find out here in Loomis, right next to the border of Rocklin. It's a HUGE facility with so much for everyone - a brewery on one side with live music and a sound stage if you'd like to grab some beers or cocktails with friends. There are a ton of little beautiful artisan shops connected in a covered walkway with an olive oil tasting store, local artists showing their wares, and an outdoor garden/home goods store as well. The nursery connects the stores to the cafe - plenty of beautiful plants, trees, and succulents available for purchase. The cafe and the coffeeshop are on one side of the facility next to the parking area. All the staff are so friendly and happy - everyone is helpful and there to make your morning brunch or family outing fun and enjoyable. The cafe itself has a delicious brunch menu with perfect house potatoes, delicious eggs benedict, and delicious brisket scramble/eggs. Parking can be tricky when it's super popular/busy, but there's a huge lot adjacent so you may just need to walk a little way. Hasn't changed bit, just as fresh and fine as the last time. Perfect outing, nice drive, plenty of parking, no wait, seated right away, nice, peaceful, serene views ... always love coming up here. For date night, we started at High Hand Cafe! They also have a nursery, a brewery, a flavor balsamic and flavored olive oil shop, a well as gorgeous decor for your garden (and much much more!). If you haven't been here, stop what you're doing and at least check out the nursery! Our mission was to have brunch. However, on a Tuesday, it is not available. Only in the weekends. Oh, and you absolutely need to call ahead, or you can book a reservation through your Yelp app. You also want to arrive at your reservation about 20 minutes early because you could be looking for a parking space for a little while or end up parking a little ways away. As we entered the HH Cafe, it was like walking into an open greenhouse. It was beautiful with the arrangement of the plants and trees inside. We had a lot of patience that day, and when we were taken to our table, another server had placed a tray of food in it before we got there. We absolutely didn't mind waiting, but as the table was almost clear, other servers walking by were giving us dirty looks for waiting, even without us being in the way... it made for a very uncomfortable "special lunch". The hostesses are AMAZING, by the way. They smiled and were nicer than the service we received from anyone else. They are doing an amazing job! When our server, Sara S, arrived, we recognized she was really busy. We went right to our order - 4 pack of Tropical Hazy Beer made by HH Brewery House made potato chips that come with a lemon artichoke dip Rotisserie Chicken Wood Fire Pizza Our beer came in a nice cooler over ice with 2 frosty glasses. It was very tasty. We also received our chips and dip... The Lemon Artichoke Dip was so delicious and refreshing! It comes in such a small dish, so we asked for a refill, and they happily obliged! When we received our pizza, it looked good and tasted good, but it isn't something we will be craving anytime soon. The dough was very plain. It packed flavor. It was just...ok. The star of the show was the Lemon Artichoke Dip. The flavors in it complimented each other so beautifully! Some of the homemade chips were a little gray, but we just asked for a new batch and avoided the rest of the great ones... Don't forget to walk off your lunch! It is absolutely gorgeous all around! This was our first time dining and we absolutely loved everything! We had the fish tacos, a pepperoni pizza and a BLTA sandwich that were all prepared perfectly and were delicious. Don't skip the handmade potato chips with the artichoke dip-absolute best appetizer. We also shared dessert which was a generous slice of apple pie and a brownie with vanilla ice cream and raspberry sauce. Everything tasted homemade and fresh. Came here for the first time for brunch and I absolutely loved the vibes. It's a combination of everything: a cafe, restaurant, bar, art gallery, nursery....anything your heart can dream or they offer at this establishment and everything is beautiful. You can eat in a greenhouse restaurant, or order at the cafe and enjoy the beautiful nursery outside with plenty of seating to enjoy the beautiful flowers or koi fish pond. Honestly for the vibes 5/5 stars! Parking is horrid tho, so plan accordingly because this place does get crowded and although there is "one way" parking, people will go any which way to nab a parking spot, or as we witnessed, make their own. ;P We were hoping to grab a seat inside their adorable greenhouse for lunch but the wait time was about 1.5 hrs which we didn't have time for, so we were told we could order from the same menu at the cafe and choose any seat outside. It was a gorgeous day so we decided it was a wonderful idea. The cafe is small, but we ordered and we specifically asked if we should wait in the cafe for our name to be called and we were told yes so we waited patiently for our food to come out. This is where the deduction of stars comes for me. We waited and waited and waited, never once acknowledged or even told that our food was already waiting for us behind the counter. After 30 minutes of waiting and afraid to cut anyone in line who could possibly be waiting to order or pick up their food, we continued to wait in another line, and when it was our turn the girl asked for our name and handed us our food. My husband asked "is it customary for us to come and ask you for our food? Or do you call us? Because we've been waiting right in front of you for 30 minutes and it's been here the whole time??" The girl literally just looked at us and said "sometimes we do call your name but if it gets busy we forget" and walked away while shrugging her shoulders. Honestly, a simple apology would've been fine, or some kind of acknowledgement, but it was clear she could care less. So food: crab cakes were amazing. Our breakfast burrito was subpar, and because our pancakes had been sitting in a closed container for 30 mins, the butter in the to go container had turned to liquid and the pancakes were completely soggy. For 80.00 worth of food, can't say I was impressed. This place is adorable, would give a chance to hang out at the bar or enjoy their area of life music, possibly even the restaurant, but I would steer clear of the cafe from now on. read more

It was amazing! Such a good ambiance. The manager Erin came around and checked on us too which was a very nice touch. She is so incredibly sweet and added such a good laugh to our meal. In fact, not only was the food so good, but since Erin was so incredibly wonderful and attentive, I will definitely be going back! I had the rotisserie chicken pizza and OMG. This is such a cute cafe for brunch/lunch on a sunny day! We visited on a Friday with a toddler and infant, our waitress was SO sweet with them and was just super friendly in general. The food was good, we preferred starters and wood fired pizzas to the sandwiches (lunch menu), but I definitely want to come back to try their breakfast menu. We did make reservations, and leaving the restaurant there was quite a few ppl waiting to be seated so would recommend doing the same if you don't want to wait! Walking through the nursery and seeing the koi fish was also a great activity for the toddler in our group. The ambiance is unusual in that this place is in a large nursery, beer brewery, olive oil tasting, gift shop. It is very interesting. We were immediately seated, water served, lunch order taken. The Rueben sandwich was the best I have had! Beer was cold and brewed at the facility. A great experience so allot some extra time to tour the facility. We will return. read more

Okay so vibes were a 10/10. Service was fast and friendly and if you happen to go up the way to their bar area and listen to the live band it is super fun! So I gave them an extra star for that. The food, however, was just okay in my opinion. It lacked a little in the flavor department so I had to drown it in pepper and hot sauce. The mimosas were great though! I made a reservation here and even left two voicemails ahead of time to update our headcount. Before we've even reached our reservation date, we were met with an overdramatic attitude from staff that made me feel as if the simple updates I was requesting were extreme or unreasonable. We absolutely love High-Hand Nursery & Café! Even though we visited in winter when things weren't in full bloom yet, the nursery was still beautiful to walk through. The atmosphere was peaceful, and it had a great ambiance despite the season. The nursery is stunning, with tons of plants, trees, succulents, and even fruit trees for sale. The way they arrange plants--like succulents growing in fountains--is gorgeous, and they even have a koi fish pond that adds to the charm. We also checked out the High-Hand store on-site, which had a great selection of garden art, plants, and unique decor items. The cashier was super friendly, which made the experience even better. We had breakfast at the café before exploring the nursery, and while we loved the atmosphere and service, the food itself was a little underwhelming. I had the avocado toast from the appetizer menu as my entrée, and while the portion was perfect, the dish itself was a bit bland. The microgreens were a nice touch, though, and the beer cheese dip I ordered on the side was pretty good. 3/5 stars. My wife had the marinated chicken sandwich with apple slices and brie, which was fun because it was something she normally wouldn't order, but it lacked seasoning. She also rated it 3/5 stars. The café atmosphere and customer service were top-notch, which made up for the food not being super flavorful. Parking: At first, we thought parking was difficult because we parked on the street--but later realized there's an actual parking lot for the café. If you know where to go, parking is easy and convenient. Final Thoughts: We made a whole morning out of it, starting with breakfast and then exploring the nursery, store, and gardens--which made for a really lovely date. Lovely visit as always, but I do have a suggestion for the chef. My husband and I both had the pesto chicken sandwich on focaccia. Instead of putting a non-flat chicken breast in the sandwich, I suggest slicing the roasted chicken to put in the sandwich instead. That way, the focaccia which is delicious would not fall apart when trying to eat it over an uneven chicken breast. I think then we'd have near perfection. We had the cod tacos, prawn tacos, pastrami sand and albacore melt. All were great! (Decided we will ALWAYS get the chips lol) I am not a potato salad fan. It has to be really good for me to eat it. I took a bite of my husbands and ended up finishing up what he left! Portions were more than ample! Took some home just to allow room for their deserts! My sister & I were driving to Lake Tahoe last Wed, and decided to stop here for lunch around 2pm. There wasn't a wait, but it was crowded for a Wed. We were seated, and William came by and took our drink and food orders. I went with a 16oz Kia Ora Hazy IPA $9 which was good. We started out with their incredible home made chips & Lemon Artichoke Dip $15 that was oh so delicious! I just wish they would give you more dip since we always have a lot more chips then dip. I also ordered a Turkey Sandwich $19 which was yummy. My sister ordered the Tri-Tip Sandwich $21 which she too enjoyed. This restaurant is located next to/in the High hand nursery and is absolutely beautiful. There is seating inside (think large greenhouse) or outside amongst the nursery setting. It truly is beautiful and great for pictures! I tell everyone that this is definitely a trendy spot and I can see why. Both times that I have had lunch here, I went with the shrimp salad because it's so good. Lots of shrimp, lettuce, walnuts, cheese...it's just so good. I do think it should be on a larger plate as the salad gets everywhere. The house chips are good too but no better than regular potato chips. The pretzel appetizer is lacking but will do the trick when you are starving patiently waiting for the food to arrive. At Christmas, this place is decorated top notch and is very festive. I would recommend reservations as this place gets packed and typically has a line when they first open. TIP: Stop by the little shop where the bathrooms are and pick up some baked cookies. We were super excited to try this place out. When we arrived at the check in booth, the hostess was apologizing to another person before us for the hour wait. I don't like when my mimosas are too sweet so this was perfect for me . They are also dog friendly I seen a lot of cute furry friends. They have a kids menu and a changing table in the restaurant so very kid friendly as well . We really enjoyed our time and food here . So after having our late breakfast we still had not seen the whole property so we walked around more and looked at all the shops . We ended up at the new Brewery .
