I like it here. My gym is across the parking lot from this shop so it's convenient for that reason but also quick access to the freeway. A nice covered patio outside to sit at too that's shaded to have a coffee and work or read. I'm a basic black coffee drinker so overall not too picky. No complains about the coffee at all, and my daughter enjoyed her mango smoothie. Overall nice small town coffee shop and happy to have them here read more

I've come to this place many times before and I will keep coming back because it's so delicious! I've gotten a couple drinks from Roanie's but the one I got today was by far my favorite. I got the blueberry pie latte and it was so refreshing and tasted so much like blueberry I loved it. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 stars is because I feel like they have a little bit of a more sour (idk how to really describe it) espresso shot, maybe from a shorter brew time or an under extracted shot but nonetheless the coffee was still great. It came out quick, along with my two other friends' coffees and the seating was nice. I definitely prefer some other shops over this one but it's still a solid spot!! read more

It was quite spacious and we accidentally came at the right time because it exploded with people after. The pastries were honestly very well made and not too sweet. The pumpkin scones were buttery and not too spiced. The coffee was smooth, perfectly balanced and drinkable off the bat. The circle pastry forgot what it's called but was like a croissant and a cinnamon roll had a baby. I thought the blue Roan horse theme was so cute. I love horses myself. Cute and comfy! Easy to see from the I-80. Easy to find and access. Private parking lot which they share with a gym and vet hospital. Good sized menu and friendly staff. I was very happy to see that they offered BOTH sugar feee caramel and vanilla. Most please only have sugar free vanilla. They offer soy, almond and oat milks for an extra .75 cents. They have seasonal specials and really cute and affordable merch! T shirts for $10 and mugs for $8. They have garage looking window roll up doors which let allow the place to filled with beautiful natural lighting. They have some cute tables that seat up to 4 and two little chairs in a corner which are aesthetically pleasing. It looks like they also can use part of the bet hospital space for seating too, you just have to ask the staff about it. I ordered a sugar free caramel and vanilla latte with oat milk and was very surprised at how smooth and velvety it was. Super cute shop to meet up with friends. read more

We came to Roanie's in Loomis after a late night watching fireworks needing a recharge. As we walked in, we were welcomed with a really nice atmosphere with a charming theme inspired by the blue roan horse, which I found neat. The service was decent; the barista was nice but didn't seem particularly enthusiastic. We tried the Banana Cloud Foam Iced Coffee and the Blueberry Iced Latte. Unfortunately, both tasted watered down, with the blueberry flavor being a bit sour and off-putting. We also had an almond croissant that was just okay--unfortunately, it tasted a bit stale. Sadly, no. We were looking forward to trying Roanie's after seeing the signage from the freeway. After arrival, we couldn't find the shop! We circled the building, but found no sign directing us to Roanie's. The animal hospital next door pointed to the connecting opening, and we felt a bit foolish. Then we saw why we couldn't find it - there was no sign outside other than ON the doors. From the parking lot, we couldn't see the doors because there were three large vehicles parked right in front, blocking any view of the entrance. For first timers, it would have been very helpful to have seen a sandwich board out front or a sign up above the doors. That said, we went in for our coffee. Cute place, seemed clean. Unlike many reviewers, we had very delightful servers. The woman taking our order was pleasant and welcoming. We ordered half caffs, so the woman making the coffee was very thoughtful to ask us if we wanted our half caff more on the decaf side, or regular (a medium requires three shots, either two decaf and one regular, or two regular and one decaf). It was not too long before we received our coffees. Sour! We asked what kind of roast was used, and she said dark. The only reason for a dark roast to be sour would be if it was pulled incorrectly. Either too short, or perhaps the water wasn't hot enough. Whatever the reason, the coffee was incredibly unpleasant, and we tossed them shortly thereafter. We will probably not go out of our way to go back. I wish we could give a better review, because we were really looking forward to finding a regular coffee spot. read more

This place is super cute. Love the horse theme, seating inside in two places plus outdoor seating. The place was crowded, that means a lot of people really enjoy this spot! Lots of bike riders meeting up after a ride. I came in after a run. The spinach feta croissant was amazing! Unfortunately I forgot to save the photos I sent to all my friends on snap. The cappuccino was extra hot, tasted good, smoothe, but no art. I'm a huge coffee snob and the artistic part of the coffee. I love a beautiful coffee that tastes amazing. 4-ish stars rounded up. Pretty solid coffee shop that's right off of the I-80 freeway! Mocha was quite roast-y in flavor with even a fruity flair to it. Reminded me a lot of a mocha that I had elsewhere that also gave chocolate-covered-cherry vibes. Drink was on the strong side too so recommend especially if you (still) have a long drive ahead of ya. As for pastries, the cashier/barista recommended the sweet cheese croissant (she said it was one of her faves). Tender pastry with filling that kinda reminded me of the cheese filling used for danishes. Tasty! The bear claw was even more tender and although the amount of almond paste filling was less than anticipated the pastry still had a strong almond flavor to it. My favorite pastry that I tried though was the morning bun. Super soft and fluffy! Also had a nice light cinnamon taste. It was like a very humble, icing-less, cinnamon roll lol. The blueberry lemon scone was rock-solid tough with a little too much browning at the bottom but the taste was still on-point. Very friendly cashier/barista. Indoor and outdoor seating (I enjoyed sitting outside listening to the freeway white noise lol the freeway is that close). We heard about a new coffee shop in Loomis and had to make a trip in. It's located right by the freeway and easy to find. We took our time looking at the menu and the available pastries. I ordered an iced lavender latte and almond croissant. My daughter ordered mango smoothie and pumpkin muffin. She later asked for a small hot cocoa to go! We sat inside since it was a little too hot to enjoy the outdoor patio seating. Since we went on the weekend, the indoor, air conditioned patio with walk-up window wasn't open. Stopped in on a week day morning as a friend told me about their signature orange latte. I was excited! Upon entering a young lady "greeted me" with a glance. No smile, no welcome. Nothing. She almost looked annoyed. While it was moderately busy, I felt like I had annoyed her. Not the best first impression. The latte was great - but honestly, didn't get a case of the warm and fuzzies from one of the young ladies. Not sure if I'll go out of my way to stop again. read more

Ordered a chai, mocha, blueberry muffin and bagel. All were okay at best. I'd come if you're nearby and need a caffeine fix or want a spacious place to meet up with friends and catch up over coffee. Stopped by to try one of their new Spring menu specials! I decided to go with the orange honey almond latte! It was delightful and you could definitely taste the orange! (Definitely coming back to try the blueberry pie latte, also on the spring menu.) Other spring menu options include a sparkling lavender matcha and a raspberry frozen lemonade. It's a cute small spot, very clean and connects to the vets office next-door where they have extra seating in an atrium. They also offer pastries, oatmeal, salads & sandwich options. Everyone who works here is very friendly. If you come during warm weather, they have garage door walls that they open up so it's more of an indoor/outdoor atmosphere. If I were to add anything in here, it would be more sofa chairs or couch like seating options in case someone wants to come & read a book (like I do ) and don't want to sit at a table. I will note that they have two green chairs like this, but a couple more would be nice as those two are usually occupied. read more

Sadly, with great hopes that this would be a fun coffee alternate in the area, it is not. The space is great. But the coffee ....huge fail. The shot was excessively bitter/sour. They're using the Monin syrups which is always a flag and topped the rose cardamom latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon. (Not an accident, that's the drink recipe.) It's so disappointing when a business puts so much money and thought into a darling space but doesn't prioritize teaching baristas how to nail a good shot and do what is SO easy with house made syrups. Even if the coffee was amazing I wouldn't come back just because of the unfriendly girl behind the counter. There was only one other customer inside they weren't busy. I stopped by here a couple weekends ago to try the iced blueberry pie latte and on a whim I also decided to try the hazelnut truffle chocolate chip cookie. The latte was good but my god, that cookie sent me into another dimension. A hazelnut chocolate chip nuke went off and obliterated my taste buds and changed the very fabric of time and space. That goddamn cookie has been living in my head rent free ever since and I haven't been the same since that day lol. They asked if I wanted it warmed up first and the answer to that is always yes. Came in the other day for the first time and there were only a couple customers waiting for drinks. Walked in wasn't greeted or anything but didn't think much of it. As soon as the employee was finished making the order for said customers she immediately looked annoyed and asked "what can I help you with" I said hi and asked if they had cold brew and she replied with a short "we have iced coffee". Again looked annoyed so I said ok I'll take that. Coffee was good but the customer service could have been better. Decided to try it again today after a gym session now mind you the side door was open and I walked in. Was greeted by a gentleman but as soon as I got to the cashier to order the same employee as the other day quickly said with an attitude "we aren't open until 7am". It was 6:55am. I probably would have waited for the coffee if that employee would have been in a better mood or had better customer service. Instead I laughed and walked right out. Was looking for my next favorite small coffee shop and decided to give this a try. Place looked clean and gals there were friendly. Ordered a large hot almond milk latte with a pump of hazelnut. Well...it was $8.50‍ then I thought ok, this is gonna be good. For that price it has to be, right?! Nope. It was so sour and had a weird aftertaste. Did almond milk go bad? My sister and I went here a few days ago and our experience was not good. I got a white chocolate mocha and my sister got a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate tasted like hot water with a sprinkle of cocoa. My white chocolate mocha tasted just like watered down coffee with some milk. I spent $6.97 on my 12oz drink. The barista wasn't particularly friendly, didn't say hello and served horrible drinks. I would give it 2 stars because the decor was very nice and it was very clean inside but I just can't handle an insanely expensive drink that I couldn't even finish. This was my first visit and I won't be back. The shop is cute, and the pastries were yummy, but the lady working is what ruined our experience. My friend that I went with has been here before and says she would come back...if that lady wasn't working. The barista was not inviting, unpleasant, and sour faced! She didn't greet us as she unlocked the doors for us as her first customers of the day. She seemed annoyed that we were there. We were the only customers at the time, sitting comfortably and she could have taken that opportunity to bring us our coffee rather than leave it on the counter...which would be perfectly acceptable if it were busy, but alas, it was not. In this area, we have so many choices of places to go for coffee and a positive environment to start off our day, we chose this, hoping for a good cup and good experience...unfortunately this place was lacking in positive vibes and will not contend for our morning coffee excursion again. read more
