Everything was flavorful, beautifully presented, and the portion was very generous. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly, and the restaurant was clean with a great ambiance. I also loved that we were able to join the Yelp waitlist ahead of time, it made the whole experience so much easier and we didn't have to spend a lot of time waiting once we arrived. We were seated quickly. The restaurant is open and cheery. They have several senior specials if you order before 9:00 am. My husband had the hash and said it was delicious. He would have like smaller potatoes in it, but the flavors were great. I had the 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 meats special. The bacon was exceptional and not greasy. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. My only criticism is about the sweetened butter and the powdered sugar on the pancakes. I prefer little to no sugar on my pancakes. They did have sugar free syrup which was excellent. Here's what we ordered: Fresh Squeezed OJ - delicious Chocolate mocha - very good Blueberry French toast - very tasty Ricotta, blueberry pancakes- huge portion Chicken and waffles - the waffle was pretty dense and the chicken was cooked. Well felt very oily.. Breakfast sandwich with potatoes - the breakfast potatoes were definitely the star. Those were really really good. The breakfast sandwich itself was really buttery to the point where it was an overkill. I ended up, scraping out the insides and just eating that and leaving the buns behind. Overall, I think the food was just OK. Portion sizes are huge. I ended up bringing home three different boxes of leftovers. Price is a little high, but maybe average for the area. Well, this had all the potential to be a great place. Good location, not a chain, good Yelp reviews. Well, it didn't work this time. The service was fine, the place was nice, and the prices weren't horrible. But as a fan of pancakes, these were the driest pancakes I have ever tasted in my life. The other stuff was okay, but I was looking forward to some good pancakes. I'm not super picky, but these things were like chalk. Get some moisture in those things. Bummer. I might try it again someday if I'm in the area and try anything but the pancakes. Sometimes the food looks better than it tastes, and this was one of those occasions. First meal while visiting Roseville on an August Friday afternoon! They are located on East Roseville Parkway. We were greeted kindly by the young man at the front of the house. We were seated and Chao, our server introduced himself to us and got our beverage orders. The weak link were definitely the iced lattes. We got them decaf with almond milk bases. My husband and I came today for the first time and were blown away by how excellent our experience was. As soon as we got there, we were quickly seated. As we walked in, everything looked super modern, clean and elevated. Our server quickly got our order- pumpkin chai pancakes (special), crab benedict, ricotta toast, strawberry matcha and maple latte. Everything came out super quick. The interior is decorated very nicely. Place is bright. We ordered different items to share. We wanted to try everything :) Cast iron skillet shashuka: It was our first time trying this dish. Pretty interesting. Not sure if it was supposed to be liquidly in general. Reminded me of drinking tomato soup. Breakfast flatbread: It was ok. Liked that it was naan bread. Lemon ricotta pancakes: It was too tangy, tarty and soggy from the sauces. Flavorwise, it was alright. Fried chicken & waffle: Delicious! Chicken was really good. If I could replicate this place, and have it built next to my house, I would! There is nothing, literally, that could make this place better. The quality of the ingredients are top-tier. Everything is cooked perfectly. Plated perfectly. You won't find another place that fits your cravings like this, because the menu is that unique. The flavors are so well done, this feels like my soul in a menu. We tried so many things, and so much looks so delectable, now we are going to have to make a trip back to try out others. This place was recommendations from friends that lives in the neighborhood and would frequent the place. It was quite busy when we arrived which was mid week. Guess they're doing well. It did take a while till we got seated on the patio. There's both inside as well as a nice decent size patio seatings. Tables did have covered umbrellas to help with the sun. You have your traditional dishes and some other fancy dishes. I feel like there were more of a specialty with their toast. A good selection of breakfast toast which we did utilized. We didn't get anything major with drinks but mainly orange juice. Food wise, pretty much loads of items on the menus. Both the spicy and classic fried chicken sandwiches. Both were tasty and served with a side of your choice. Between the classic and spicy, I was more pleased with spicy. More flavors with the sauces. There was also the chicken and waffles which was decent. Chicken strips with waffles which at first we didn't even noticed it was there...lol.. Then there's the hash, classic potato and one meat as well as the smoked salmon. Both decent but salmon was very tasty. Of course loads of the toast was had. Worth the wait! I've been recommended to come here for years and finally made it happen. There was an hour wait on late sunday morning, even for 2 people, so be prepared. There's a starbucks nearby that made it easy to wait. And there's a yelp check in process which tracks your status and timing, made it easy to know when we were up! Now on to the food. The flatbread was the ultimate favorite and a must get. Such a fantastic combo and cooked perfectly. The bruleed french toast had a great sugary coating and fresh fruit. The spicy omelette wasn't my favorite. I love spice and had to add hot sauce to get some heat. The potatoes were a little under. It's a dry establishment so no alcohol. Inside atmosphere is great, it is a little loud with the high Ceilings but it's a warm and inviting and very kid friendly! They even have a section that is a little more private where it is a section with glass doors which is a little more private! Outdoor dining is great as well with a spacious section with tables with umbrellas! The food is great with a nice variety! We have tired numerous dishes and all are excellent! The portions were solid, service was fine, and the waitlist feature was honestly clutch, we added our names before driving up and avoided a super long wait. The guava lemonade mocktail was delicious, and I appreciate that they offer mocktail options. The breakfast potatoes were also really good and flavorful without being too salty. Food-wise, the Turkish eggs were just okay for me, the dill was a bit overpowering and both that dish and the chicken sandwich came out somewhat cold. We were served by Chau, and he was attentive and helpful, and the space of the restaurant is open and bright-- sure to wake you up for the day. Fair warning that portions are huge. 4/5: The smoked salmon hash topped with chili oil and sunny side eggs tasted good with the hollandaise sauce. It lays on a mountain of soft potatoes, bell peppers and onions. 4/5: Pistachio french toast was soft and didn't shy away from a strong pistachio presence. The cream was truly decadent with each bite. 5/5: The chicken and waffles was my absolute favorite dish. Good customer service, Christina was friendly and did check on me every so often even as she was busy with other tables. She applied my birthday reward at the end of my meal. We were seated promptly and a server came by very quickly to provide water and menu recommendations. I really liked how there was a good amount of Indian-fusion items. I had never seen anything like it on a brunch menu before. My friend and I ended up sharing the Samosa Benedict with potatoes and pumpkin chai pancakes. The Samosa Benedict was pretty good, but I did not feel like it was as filling as I wanted it to be. Pumpkin chai pancakes were also pretty good but I thought maybe it was a little too sweet for me. My other friend ordered the pitaquiles, which is a play on Chilaquiles, except with pita bread. She said she liked it, although it did look quite bready. Overall, I thought that the food was slightly above average but nothing spectacular. I'm giving it an extra star because the service was very good and the restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing. I had an incredible experience at The Pantry, and I have to give a huge shout-out to our server, Melissa. She was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we walked in, she was attentive, knowledgeable, and so helpful. The only real problem you'll have here is deciding what to order--everything on the menu sounds amazing, and you'll want to try it all. I ended up telling Melissa I wanted something with eggs and basically handed her the reins, trusting her to pick a winner. She didn't just deliver; she blew me away. It was a total flavor bomb--honestly, that first bite felt like the food critic scene from Ratatouille, sending me to another dimension. Our waiter was super friendly, attentive and helpful!! His name is Shay - I thought he looks like Ryan Gossling!! Super friendly & attentive -- I felt bad for him as he had tables outside, in the room and in the main room -- I even overheard a waitress asking where his section was and he was laughing as clearly it was in 4 different places but he was compentent and managing it well. We were sat initially in the back room area which was nice except there was a couple with two littles who were screaming at times - they eventually left and the manager (I assume as she was dressed in regular clothing - named Vanessa) moved one of the high chairs to the table directly next to us within arms reach - I asked her if they were seating someone there she said yes - I asked if we could then be moved as this was so close and she moved us to a high top table - I understand trying to navigate seating but after also working in the service industry it's also important to think about how close you are encroaching on other people whom are already sat - space - wild to me the lack of consideration for this by a manager too!! Plus the table where the original couple w/ kids were sitting that wasn't encroaching on our space is where they could have been sat!! Screaming children in high chairs doesn't always allow for a great experience! Especially with this back room area being somewhat enclosed and when the kids were screaming it echoed. I noticed after we were moved they didn't even sit them there - smh. I saw them take the group outside - they had a huge stroller that woudnt have fit in the corner she was trying to fit them anyways - with 4 adults. Other than that experience with the manager who dismissed our concerns by just moving us to a high top instead of the new group - I'd recommend sitting outside if you have the opportunity. Service is generally good, but it tends to struggle during peak times like this Sunday. Our server, Chao, got our simple drink order wrong (one water with no ice, one hot water, and a black decaf coffee) and didn't mention any alternatives to the French fries that came with the meal. When we noticed the plate and asked for a substitute, it was provided without issue. Overall, the food remains the highlight, but the service this visit fell short of expectations. In hindsight, I probably should have reflected my level of satisfaction more clearly in the tip. When I needed to ask for a coffee refill he came with caffeinated coffee. At least he asked what would happen if I drank caffeinated coffee. Hopefully the initial cup was decaf. read more
