This is a 1930 speakeasy feel bar which is entered only through a green door in an alley that can be easily missed and entry is password protected. Guarded by a gatekeeper who will ask you for the password for the day. You better grab that off Instagram. We had no idea so I told him Will sent us and well. I got a good scolding, they let me in. Once you enter, it feels like you walked into the 1920s with the leather shrouded barstools at the tables, the hardwood bar and the stuffed animals that include a buffalo, pheasants, and more. Craft cocktails are all they do and they're really good at it. Take a look at part of the menu Iposted in the pictures. This is a great place to come and have a cocktail or two before or after dinner. Come see for yourself as you won't be disappointed. Parking can be a little dicey in downtown Roseville, if you're lucky you'll get one right on the street but if not, there's plenty of public parking around.
Tucked behind an unassuming alley in Old Roseville sits a green door marked only with the number 323. No signs. No bell. No sliding peek window. No sound leaking through the walls. You'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the wrong place or about to make a mistake and put yourself into a sketchy place. We looked around for a more "realistic" entry way not knowing the most realistic entry way is one that looks like a back door to a closed vacuum or furniture storefront. That's exactly the point. You knock. Immediately, the door opens. A man in a cowboy hat looks you over. He doesn't wear a name tag. He doesn't need one. He asks, "You have something to say?" If you've done your homework, and say the right thing, the door stays open. You're in. I do not know what happens if you do not have the word. What follows is less a bar and more a pocket of time. The interior is small but well conceived. The bar sits directly at the entrance, flanked by a few standing guests and several small tables. Beyond that, the space opens up into a lounge with seating for six to eight, and a longer bench-style area for a dozen or so. The walls are dark, the lighting low. It's the kind of place that feels like it remembers what Prohibition was, even if most of us never lived it. It felt like walking onto a movie set where we might be extras, and the main characters would enter and play out a scene. It was a perfect example of a speak easy in full swing. Even the glassware was legitimate. The decor is intentional. Books tucked into corners. Stags mounted on the wall. Nothing feels store-bought or trendy. It's immersive without trying too hard. The seats were not overstuffed contemporary types nor were the tables or even foot stools. They all looked like they came from a speak easy back in the day. About the only thing that did not look like the real thing were the patrons, as they were dressed casually, and of course the iPhones. I suppose that would have caused quite a ruckus during prohibition! Conversations are constant, layered over each other and laughter. It gets loud, but not obnoxious. There's a rhythm to the space that holds. My suggestion is to not go at 7pm on a Saturday and hope to get a prized table, couch or seat. Now, to the drinks. House Divided serves anything you ask for, but they lean into the theme. Classic cocktails done right. Throwbacks with historical lean. Creative new entries like lavender martinis that aren't just gimmicks. Each drink feels made by someone who knows what they're doing and takes pride in the process. This is not vodka-soda speed bar territory. It's craft, and it shows. I did not see a bottle of ocean spray anywhere, but what I did see were large glass bottles labeled with the juice or concoction held within. The little details are obvious! If I were to translate my usual framework: * Ambiance and Service: 4 stars (it can get loud and if you are here to have a conversation it will be difficult) * Quality: 5 stars- I had a simple drink - vodka and cranberry. With something "special" that the tender added. I don't know what it was, but the taste was wonderful! Way different than my standard go to! * Value? That depends on whether you're measuring price per ounce, or the fact that you just got to walk through a green door into another world. But in reality, 5 stars. Do I wish for more seating? Yes. Perhaps more quiet? Yes. But if it were those things, would it be the same? No. My guess is going on a Saturday at 7pm is going to be a bit crowded, and loud. That's my fault, and testament to their quality. Next, I found the staff to be great! Even the doorman gave it character, cowboy hat and boots and all! Great experience!
Love this place. The speakeasy concept is so cute, the atmosphere is amazing, and it's one of my go-to spots when I want a good cocktail. I got the espresso martini and I'm still thinking about it. Great drinks, great service, and such a fun experience every time. Definitely one of my favorite hidden gems to grab a drink at in Roseville.

House divided is my favorite bar in the Sacramento area. If I could take someone I loved to only one place for cocktails locally, it would be this one. The drinks don't miss, the service is phenomenal, and the ambiance is unlike any other. Many places try to capture the feeling of a speakeasy, but from going down a creepy alley, sharing a secret passwords, and being transported to a dimly-lit, gorgeous room, few if any manage to do it the way House Divided does.

You got to knock on the door and tell a password which is available from their Instagram account. Absolutely cool! The cocktails were amazing. We had 4 different kinds and all of these were great. Tasty, balanced and with a kick! Pure joy. The service was prompt and polite. They are professionals that know what they are doing. The ambience is fully speak easy like. Notice that there are not many seats available, the place is small. Wear comfortable shoes to stand. Nobody was drunk, mostly couples having cocktails after dinner, so not a dive bar. Most people were dressed nicely. Just adults having a good time and minding their own conversations. I didn't notice any food at all. Didn't ask either. It seemed nobody was there for any snack.
house divided is beautifully decorated and their bartenders really care about their handcrafted cocktails. i kid you not, this place looks like an Arctic Monkeys song. It has a dark and mysterious ambiance, perfect for a date night. i love going to this hole in the wall and it'll truly always have a special place in my heart (and in my diary- of course i wrote all about my first experience in this charming little cocktail lounge).
To those of you searching for one of those true hole-in-the-wall speakeasy dive bars in the greater Sacramento area, do yourself a favor and definitely give "House Divided" a try. I have a real passion for these types of places; everything from the retro look with distressed furniture to the exclusive and rare varieties of special whiskies, bourbons, and scotch liquors. Located in the heart of Old Roseville and at the corner of Lincoln St. and Washington Blvd., this place has been operating since mid-2023 while neighboring "FourScore Coffeehouse". To get here takes a little bit of investigated work in the sense that the address is not where you think it is. In fact, from Lincoln St., this place looks like an empty building with no customers. However, the entry point to House Divided is down an alley. And this alley boasts a green door with no outside security. This is where you "knock" on the door and a staff member asks you for the password. Since I had mentioned investigated work, this means you go to their Facebook or Instagram page where the password is given for that select night. I also wanted to add that this place is closed on Sunday & Monday; however, they are open for business Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00-11:00pm. As for the interior layout of this place, it is quite small to a point where they only allow so many people in at a time. And there are no windows here as the brick building shields you from any lights or outside elements from getting inside. Everything about this place looks like you've stepped back in time to the Prohibition-era with vintage photos, a deep oak bar area, and some classic aged liquors that go as far back as the early-1900's. You won't find your typical modern liquors here as the staff here has done the painstaking task of providing such an amazing and eclectic variety. I actually came here with my lady on my birthday which was the evening of Saturday 11/30/2024 at around 8:30pm. It was a packed house and every single seat was taken. Since I wanted to try a real-deal bourbon drink, I went with their "Proper Old Fashioned". This cocktail was made with aged bourbon/rye complete with Angostura bitters simple cherry & orange syrup. I will say that their specialty cocktail & old fashioned menu is quite eclectic with the perfect amount of options to cater to everyone taste bud. My drink hit the spot as this rivals some of the top speakeasy bars found in Chicago and New York City. All in all, "House Divided" is an excellent and classic speakeasy bar that I highly recommend. It does get loud; especially during Friday/Saturday nights and finding a seat may not be a guarantee. But the bartenders/hostesses and everyone that works here do an amazing job in serving the customers in a quick and timely manner. With that said and done, I am giving House Divided a perfect and unanimous five-star rating. Cheers!
I love this place! I came here with a friend looking to catch up and this speakeasy is such a hidden gem! I came over here the night before thanksgivings. I got 2 drinks, the pomegranate martini and lavender lemon drop. I'm more inclined to the sweeter and sour drinks and I love these. The bar is bustling and loud, lots of like animals on their walls. I felt like I'm in a cabin with my pals and it's a snowy day in and we're getting drunk. Loved it and will come back!
It's a super cute hidden bar in the midtown Roseville alley. The interior is dark and can be loud depending on the group in there upon arrival. The music is also a little bit louder than I would prefer ( but I was here on a Friday evening). It is def. not an ideal for place for conversations. They do not serve food. The bar service was also considerably slow for about 15 ppl in attendance while I was here.
Great staff, cool vibe, great drinks. Follow their insta for the password of the day. Really liked this addition to the old town Roseville lineup.
Amazing cocktails and such a fun and warm ambiance. The staff were so friendly and provided exceptional service. You can get the password for entry from their Instagram page and the establishment is 21 or older only for entry only, so bring your ID as they scan them at the door. Will definitely be back in the future!

House Divided is an absolute gem and a breath of fresh air for anyone looking for a bar with genuine character, culture, and atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the space feels intimate, sultry, and effortlessly romantic, with a beautifully executed 1920s speakeasy vibe that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon one of Roseville's best-kept secrets. They require a password to get in of which you can get by following them on Instagram. What really sets House Divided apart, though, is the passion behind it. The couple who owns the place has clearly gone to great lengths to create an exceptional cocktail experience. You can tell they genuinely love their craft, and that attention to detail comes through in both the atmosphere and the drinks. The cocktail menu is thoughtfully curated across a wide range of spirits, with enough creativity and variety to appeal to just about every palate. My wife and I especially enjoy coming here as the seasons change to see what new creations they've introduced, while still being able to fall back on favorites from their regular menu. Their Old Fashioneds are exceptional, and as someone who gravitates toward tequila and mezcal, I'm always impressed by what they do with those spirits. The Cozy Old Fashioned is a personal favorite, but I've yet to have a cocktail here that felt like an afterthought. Everything feels intentional, well-crafted, and true to the personality of the place. If you appreciate intimate cocktail bars, speakeasy culture, and bartenders who truly care about their craft, House Divided is absolutely worth discovering. This is a fun little speakeasy in downtown Roseville. Down an alley, knock on a nondescript door and say the password (check their instagram for the daily password). The room is small but surprisingly fit two large groups and a few couples. There's a bar plus a few tables and couches. The bartenders are very focused and work hard at their craft. Each cocktail is carefully made to perfection. The list of drinks ranges from light fruity to spirit-forward depending on your taste. We enjoyed: - pomegranate martini: light and fruity, good pomegranate flavor - yuzu lime drop: seasonal for summer only! - the First Lady: strong but smooth; came with a nicely cut ice cube - whiskey sour: classic flavor, executed well The drinks were great but I really wish there was some sort of snack to munch on. Even peanuts or mixed nuts would have been welcome. Adding a small food menu of bar snacks would make me stay longer! read more
Such a fun spot in Roseville. The small and cozy ambiance was perfect. We came here for a couple of pre-drinks prior to our dinner reservations. Honestly, we would have stayed if we weren't hungry. Be aware, it is a small venue. Be prepared to perhaps stand if no seats or tables are available. We happen to get lucky and managed to snag a 2 seater tall table. It's a dark setting, very intimate. Very fun place. I've been to better speakeasy's but this was fun. Drinks were very well done with a lot of thought and unique flavors. Service was great but I wish they were more on theme. You're paying a premium for the experience, get in character. Definitely will be back, once i find the others in the area. read more

Okay so I been to the Candy Shop Speakeasy in downtown Roseville (Daniellos) but I had never heard of this one House Divided apparently they been open for two years now and it's been such a secret that I didn't know about it and I'm sure a lot of people don't either . Well, it's time to let everyone know because it was awesome and I want my Yelp friends and everyone to come check it out. You will not see any signs or anything but I will let u know how to find it okay here we go .. It's right behind Fourscore Coffee shop in the heart of downtown Roseville. You will see the door I posted a picture of and u will knock and someone will ask you for a password . I had difficulty finding it online I thought I had it but it was a different one luckily the young lady helped me with the password and I got in .. Walking in this place is so 1920's small but very cute with plenty of bar and table seatings. They got 1920s music playing in the background coming out of an old radio. The ambience is amazing! They have a seasonal cocktail menu and two regular menus. They do not serve food here, but there's so many places around there that you could walk that do. They have a cute clean bathroom u can see the brick wall it's painted red . Idk I pay attention to details I thought it was cute and clean . All the drinks were 10/10 craft cocktails . They also offer Eagle Rare and other good bourbons and more .. The staff is amazing starting from Gabby who open the door for the password to the mixologist Jason and Mariah . Everyone was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back very soon . I highly recommend ! read more

This is an awesome concept and they did a great job with the inside decor. I do love emerald green and gold. The drinks were delicious. The biggest drawback is that there is nowhere to sit. It is a tight space and people were either bumping into me or I had to stay glued to the bar. read more

Love this place!! The atmosphere is cozy with cool decor. Drinks are delicious, I ordered the lavender lemon drop and whiskey sour - both were fantastic. Staff was friendly. After coming for the first time, I was back in less than a week. Can't wait to bring my sister here. Such an awesome find in the Roseville area! read more

5 stars for me.... Hands down It's small, quiet, quaint, and specializes in craft cocktails. Perfection. This is just a spot for cocktails not food and I'm fine with that when I night cap is in order. The menu is fun, different, and enticing. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable. Drinks are delish. I love the mellow vibes. It's such my jam. Perfect spot to have a drink with a date or a couple friends and just relax. I'd highly recommend read more
