Liberal Bull is the ultimate midafternoon to late night small town spot or local watering hole. Have gone to Liberal Bull multiple times and continue to have an enjoyable time. Continue learning on each visit how special the people of the Town of Loomis make their town. The karaoke, the singing, dancing, and people watching make this a spot to visit especially on the weekends. Individuals come to the local watering hole following weddings, dinners, sporting events, etc. which makes this an excellent place for "people watching" and meeting others. Overall the service is quick and friendly for nonalcoholic and alcohol beverages even when not sitting at the bar. The door guy and the bartenders do not mind the conversation and encourage positive energy even when need a moment to sit in silence to watch the world go by. I really like this place. It's small, and it can be pretty fun on weekends, but there isn't enough space to dance comfortably. At the same time, the vibe is fun and the crowd is nice. Found this by accident. It is almost a speakeasy from inside and out. Didn't think it was open at first, but the door pulled so we went in. Inside is like some thing from the the movies. Dark and oddly inviting. Probably what the real Cheers looked like before the show found it. No beer on tap, but bottles in the fridge. Decided to go with a rum and coke and the wifey got a vodka cran. Pulled out my card but she said CASH ONLY. I had some on me luckily, but not much. But they were so reasonably priced I had enough for a second round. This time an old fashioned and makes on the rocks. Drink were great. Old fashioned was surprisingly good. We have high standards for that particular drink. Service was friendly. Definitely going to try and be back regularly. read more

I can't express how much I love this place! It's like a Loomis speakeasy. They have the cheapest drinks in town and the staff and regulars are so friendly. Karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays is so much fun and it gets pretty full on those nights, but the rest of the time, it's like a true "Cheers" with friendly people and good conversation. Its a tucked in little gem with karoke, darts, board games and a wide variety of drinks. IT IS A CASH BAR ONLY. So be sure to bring cash. There is an ATM if needed. Bathrooms are clean and there is a smoking section right outside of the back door. Every hour is happy hour, and the service is quick, even on busy nights. Karaoke on Friday and Saturday is a lot of fun for everyone, with a mix of all different music and eras. They have food trucks there, that you can find out about on their website, and they do potluck events for big sports days. They even had a birthday party for the mayor with cake and decorations. Well this was ... something. Went in with a few friends on Saturday night. We may have been pre-gaming, NBD. Arrived in a parking lot with no signs for the Liberal Bull, but rather the dive announcing general "LOUNGE" sign out front. Good start. In we went, to a surprisingly well lit (minus one star!) bar. The place was relatively empty, but they still had a DJ setting up for karaoke night. With only 9 people in the place, wasn't sure how that would go, but hey, let's find out. Ordered our drinks (cash only) and was pleasantly surprised to find two cocktails and a beer coming in at about $12. Yowza. Coming from the Napa area, that's maybe one drink, so prices were legit. Had to hit the head, and was amazed at how clean it was. Most dive bars have you walking out of the can wondering if an antibiotic has been developed yet for the mystery bug you just picked up, but this one was damn near spotless. Back out into the main area, I ordered a Maker's and Coke (which was roughly 98% Maker's and 2% Coke) which only set me back $5 and some change. The karaoke began and... well, let's just say Loomis isn't known as the place stars are discovered. We placed our bets on whether the white 20 something girl would drop n-words in her rendition of a Snoop track (she did not, to our surprise) then heard an... interesting? rendition of "Santa Baby" before we bounced out. Wow! Haven't been in a dive like this in a long time. It is in the corner of a little plaza with a dark tinted door. Couldn't even tell it was open. Lol. Walked in and it was all darkly lit and just divey. Yet we had a good time. Ordered a white Russian(used Tito's vodka), glass of Pinot, a bud light and a captain and coke..........wait for it....................15 dollars! What a deal! My lord! This place! Completely hilarious. If you're looking for a throwback of a bygone era, this is it. When you walk in, the first thing you see is rounded tufted naugahyde seating that wraps around the corner. It takes you back to the scene in Vacation where Chevy Chase walks into the bar wearing the white loafers. Your ears are immediately assaulted by the uniquely tone deaf karaoke DJ absolutely destroying "Paradise City". Her tone deafness is worthy of a small role in a Cohen brothers movie. And she's LOUD. I've never heard this level and of tone deafness so quickly followed by such unshakable confidence and self importance. As newbie players introduced themselves, it was her who decided to turn mics on or off. My GOD!! THE POWER!! Bless her soul. She's ruling her planet. Anyhow, Go there if you're huge fan of absurdity. Like me. I cannot recommend going there for the friendly staff and regulars. But hey! There was a lot of tufted seating available given it was a Friday around 10pm, so you can get snubbed in comfort. I give it a 5 stars for the amusing spectacle, and a zero for hospitality. The drinks are cheap, but bring cash. They don't accept cards. I have been here a few times usually when buying cigars next door. The crowd is older for sure, but everyone has always been polite and upbeat and if you go with friends who cares. The old timers have some funny stories. The service has always been good. The drinks have always been very good. Decor is ancient, but they have darts. This is a terrific neighborhood lounge and while the one reviewer admits to his having been so drunk he got sick I find it a lousy point from which to offer his jaded and sad opinion. Also they are assiduous about not having underage drinkers in there and have always been since it opened back in 1986 so doubt his veracity in his claim to having been drunk there before he was 21. Please do not visit there again. People of all legal ages come to this place and all income levels and they are all treated with neighborliness and hospitality and Pete welcomes newbies and regulars as well. It maintains a decent climate so that anyone can come there and not suffer an offensive and trashy atmosphere . The Weasels biking club visits right alongside people coming home from businesses and just wanting a drink or two and some pleasant conversation. there is something for anyone here to enjoy. read more

I came here with my friend on their karaoke night, and the diversity of the patrons was very amusing to see. I'm not sure what's going on with the name of the place, but it is hilarious by the way. This isn't much of a singles bar in my opinion, but a fun place to sing and relax with close friends. Similar bars I used to visit with my friends in the Loomis/Rocklin/Penryn area have closed down, sadly, but I hope this one survives for a while. read more

The Bull is a social club. It serves the locals from all walks of life and welcomes newbies. You do not get ignored at the Bull, you are welcomed by friendly people. How anyone could equate it with the 160 serves to illustrate that he had not lost his 'b uzz' as he could not have been thinking or observing clearly. It is a nice lounge atmosphere for those who enjoy that atmosphere. Methinks Martin should stay out of there as it obviously is not his style.
