Love the food, the ambiance is wonderful and service is fantastic especially the bartender Stevie!

I am not sure what was happening on 3/19. The bartender I believe her name is Stevie, woah. She may have been having a bad day of some sort but she alone is the reason we will never be back. There seemed to be lots of regulars at the bar who were waiting on her to come back from wherever she disappeared to. We came in around 430 and waited for about 10 minutes before she finally came to the bar and one of the regulars pointed at us for her to help us. We should have just left... she seemed off just from the first "how are you?" We decided to stay and give it a try. We all have bad days, right? So we ordered two beers on draft and their homemade potato chips. She stumbled her reply and said "just chips?" I said yep. We grabbed our beers from her and sat at a table. Right after that, we watched her take a big shot someone bought for her. We waited and waited and waited for our chips. Then Stevie took another break and went to vape out the front door - which she blew like at the door and it all came inside. She went outside and stayed out there for about 10 min or so just vaping - then came back in with food trash. We've been waiting about 30 min at this point for chips and we were going to order another beer and other food. My husband was standing at the bar for at least 10 min waiting to order. A friend of hers or a regular, whatever he was, went slightly behind the counter to get a beer from the fridge and just told her he was getting it. When Stevie finally came back behind the bar someone bought her another huge shot and she went to their table to chug it. At this point she was stumbling and looked very out of it. One of the regulars shook his glass and said I've been waiting about 20 min for refill. Another friend of the bartender just laughed and said yeahhhh. We were beyond annoyed and my husband as politely as he could, asked for our card back and she slurred out "what's the last name?" Got the card and went to sign the receipt- my husband said you never even put in our chips. She acted so confused. He's like remember? We ordered chips? She just stared at him like a deer in the headlights. What a mess. You shouldn't allow your employees to chug shots while working. This was before 5pm. I understand you have friends and are very well loved by everyone there which is great, but there is NO customer service here. Not even the regulars sitting at the bar get it. We tried to give this place a shot after years of passing by and we were interested in the food. The place was clean and they had a cool little dj booth in the corner. It's decorated like a sports bar... unfortunately we won't be back and I will discourage anyone from going here. There was a guy in the kitchen who seemed to care how she was acting and he apologized many times for her behavior and offered to make us free chips- we accepted but ended up leaving before because of Stevie. There was another older man there that cleaned the tables up and helped deliver food - not sure if he was the owner, he was drinking a beer behind the bar when we showed up and eating something- if he was the owner, he should watch how much his bartenders are drinking on the job. In the late 80s, my husband and I hung out at the turtle quite a bit. In fact, he asked me to marry him one evening when we were at the turtle. And yes, the turtle is cheers or it used to be. I love the place miss all the old regulars, as they're all gone now. read more

This is an awesome place to watch Chicago Bears football. They will broadcast the sound for all those games. They will show all the other football games, without sound. Their menu for football is amazing. I love their Fire Burger! After football season is over, I try to go once a month for the burger!! I've never sat outside, but that is usually packed also. Word to the wise, there isn't actually a glass turtle at this establishment... At least not one I could find. I looked in the seating area, behind the bar, in the restrooms, and even under the tables, where all I found was gum. All that searching made me thirsty, so ordered a brew. It was cold, sudsy, and served with a smile. The bartender even gave me a coupe samples before I made a decision. I was pleased with the beer and service. I was also pleased with how much this bar had to offer. They had some great tunes on the speakers, big screen TV's, an awesome patio, and karaoke. Alright, I admit, I have been driving past this place for decades. I always thought "Huh, cool name. I should stop sometime" but never did for some reason. Last night my wife and I were driving past after an event in Rocklin and we decided to finally give it a shot. Why have we not been here before?! An incredibly cozy and fun neighborhood bar. Great food; my cheesesteak was amazing and the homemade chips were on point. The prices are totally fair. The ambience was fun with a lot of regulars in good spirits. The music was there but not so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. Apparently one of the owners is from Chicago, so there is plenty of Cubs and Bears paraphernalia along with SF gear (the other owner is NorCal) and it definitely has the Midwest "neighborhood bar" vibe. I am pretty new to the area and a neighbor told me that the best burger in Roseville was served here. I had to try it. It really WAS the best burger I have had in Rosevill in 5 years - and I like burgers! I do not drink but, my friends both had beer and enjoyed every drop. My experience was that the service was top-notch and I, as a single woman, felt very safe and comfortable. The Glass Turtle is a great bar and a wonderful restaurant, located in Roseville, CA. The front door is located on the deck of the restaurant, and you'll note the sports pennants and beer signs, along with the California state flag. You've truly arrived! As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice the long bar, with many bar stools, which were well-seated on this early Friday afternoon. The dining room is spacious, and furnished with tall tables and chairs, which make for comfortable dining. The bar features many beers on tap, which tend to run on the "premium" side of things. Besides beer taps, the bar is decorated with every type of bottle you would ever wish for, and in my case, many brands and bottles that I've never heard of, since I'm mostly a beer kind of guy. To enhance the "sports bar" feel to the lounge, there are television monitors, what at the time of my visit, were tuned to a major league baseball game in progress. The furniture is tall bar tables with matching chairs, all in polished oak, which makes for attractive furniture. The patio is located in front of the restaurant, on a wooden deck, and offers both tall bar table and chairs, and standard tables and chairs for your dining pleasure. The patio is covered, shaded, and there are heaters to keep things warm during cold weather. On this early July afternoon, with the temperature hovering around he 90-degree mark, I chose to enjoy my delicious "GT Burger" outside on the patio. From the "Large Plates" section of the menu, I went with the "flagship" burger, the "GT Burger," and a side of onion rings. As optional "add-ons" - for a small additional charge - for the burger, I added "Pepper Jack Cheese," along with "Applewood" bacon. I upgraded the "House Potato Chips" to "Onion Rings," again, for a small additional fee, but I was simply craving onion rings on this Friday afternoon. I wasn't disappointed! This delicious burger starts out with a third pound of premium Angus beef, cooked to order. I ordered my meat to be cooked medium, and it arrived as ordered, juicy, lightly seasoned and just a little crisp on the outside, and moist and tender inside. The meat was placed inside a lightly buttered and toasted bun. I ordered "everything" on my burger, and my burger arrived garnished with sliced tomato, white onion and a couple slices of lettuce. All veggies were crisp, fresh and chilled, which made an amazing contrast to the warm meat, cheese, bacon and bun. One of the criteria for a "top shelf" burger is the contrast between warm and chilled, and The Glass Turtle "nailed" this burger category. The burger arrived without any dressing, which I always love, as I prefer to customize my burger, and enjoy it MY WAY. A tray of condiments was placed on the table, which included mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, along with a bottle of "Tapatio" Mexican hot sauce, but the burger was so juicy and delicious that it didn't need any "enhancements" as I loved it the way it arrived. I upgraded my burger by adding a slice of "Pepper Jack" cheese, along with a couple pieces of "Applewood" sliced bacon. For the added taste sensation, I can afford to spend a couple extra bucks before contacting my banker! I paid an extra dollar for the side of "Onion Rings," as I'm not a fan of potato chips with a burger, as I prefer something more substantial. "Onion Rings" made the prefect side for the "GT Burger," The onion rings were light, crispy, and perfectly deep fried to a golden brown, with crispy fried batter on the outside, which complimented and contrasted with the tender white onion. The onion-to-batter ratio were perfect, and the onion rings were simply delicious. My "GT Burger" and side of "Onion Rings" were simply delicious, and perfect in every way. Burger lovers should take note that The Glass Turtle delivers an amazing burger! The Glass Turtle serves delicious food, ice cold beer, and if the weather is nice, you'll enjoy your amazing meal on the friendly and comfortable patio. Hello excellence. Chill but lively atmosphere. Reasonable taps - including option for Revision by the pitcher. Maybe it's a nieve and jaded Bay Area transplant bias, but the people are exceptionally nice. You know, they like hold the door open for you. Clean restrooms (always a plus) and generally clean everything actually. Ok. Time to talk about potato chips. No, not some bag from the chip rack. Fresh potato chips. Crispy yet chewy. Salty and just a little greasy. Sinful, yet sooooo worth it. And then, as we're approaching last call and the kitchen is closed, the door man stops by the table with complimentary chocolates. I mean, come on man! You didn't have to do that. But thank you. Maybe I'm just new to the area and the midwestern manners are commonplace here and throwing me off a little, but if this hospitality is the real deal, they've got a new regular on their hands. This place used to be packed and here we are on a Saturday night, Karaoke Night and it's dead. Seriously, what is going on with this once happening place. The DJ is playing two to three songs, not dancing songs....just music then he is allowing singers to come up once then plays more music of his choice. WTH? Two hours of karaoke and each singer (total of 6) was able to sing maybe 3-4 songs. People were dropping like flies! ATTENTION OWNER: get a NEW DJ and save your business. NEVER EVER EVER GO HERE! This is not just a poor service issue, it's a DANGEROUS place to be (especially as a female). My daughter and BF walked in here tonight for a nightcap after a long, hard working weekend and as soon as they entered (the door did not automatically close behind them & they did not immediately notice), when a large, rotund man at the back of the bar yelled the "the door doesn't (expletive) close itself!" To which they closed the door, the bartender said nothing, served them a foamy beer and when they went outside to sit and drink it, the bartender was kind enough to go and top off their drinks and ask if they were ok. Obviously he knew he had a very rowdy, obnoxious individual that was intoxicated and should not be being served anymore alcohol, in there scaring other customers. My daughter told him that she was not ok and that guy needs to cool it. To which the bartender said "I know! I'm so sorry" Thank you for the kindness of asking Mr bartender but do the right thing and quit serving assholes who scare away normal customers that just want to have a nice time and not bother anyone else. When you have an obnoxious, or potentially dangerous & scary individual -kick them out and call the police if they won't leave. Rudest bartenders I have ever met in my life. Came here with a couple friends for a birthday and sat outside since it was quiet inside. Bartender is upset that my friend brought a gift for the guy with the birthday and tells us we didn't tip enough when we tipped 15% per tab. We apologize anyway out of confusion and he comes back outside for the second time to smoke a cigarette and stare at us the entire time. Comes back over to us and tells us to never come back. Proceeds to turn the lights off on us and the tv. Obviously has something going on with himself and feels the need to take it out on guests who were never even rude in the slightest. My friends and I were celebrating our buddy's birthday! We had been playing at Thunder Valley Casino all afternoon and needed a change of scenery. We found this place and decided to give it a try!! This is a great dive bar!! They have a decent outdoor patio area in front of the bar. Although it faces the busy road it's nestled with trees and cozy. We actually went inside to play. Our bartender was super nice and attentive. Our background music was right up our alley. Old school rock. Maybe not for everyone, but it worked for us. This is a small place. My friends and I were just looking for drinks so that we could catch up on our busy lives. This was our happy spot just for that!! We shared lots of stories and laughs and had great service. Overall...if you're looking for pool tables and such...you won't find it here. I heard they had karaoke but not every night. 1st visit, Super Bowl Sunday 2020. Came here just before 2nd half, after work. Good, friendly crowd, mostly Niner fans I'm a Niner fan! The woman next to me recommended their wings, but I opted for Smoked Pulled Pork sandwich, (cause I me some GOOD pulled pork) and then chose the fresh made chips over fries cause that woman next to me also suggested the chips. Pulled pork sandwich was dElish and so were the fresh crispy chips! They have a limited but decently diverse selection of brews on tap. There is a patio area with tables out and a TV. The only positive thing about this place is the outdoor seating. It is a 21 and older place which is just not right . The have a full menu and out door seating but will not serve families if there are young members. i would not recommend anyone to go if you want nice service. When my son and I were turned away the two staff members didnt even offer ordering takeout . It didn't appear that they cared about getting customers . They were rude and practicality pushed us out the door. read more

Came here once a few months ago, never coming back. Regulars in there were super kind so it felt pretty welcoming at first. Bartenders were short with us but that was kind of normal in my eyes, they were busy. Then I walked into the bathroom where the two women bartenders were in stalls, talking trash about me. When I spoke up their excuse was they had a long shift and were so tired and offered my friend and I a free drink. Took the drink w them, a regular, and a guy bartender. We came here for a local chapter CHIVE thirsty thurday meet up to the iconic glass turtle around 6:30 pm. the best part about being outside was those with dogs could bring them along :) It was hot so we decided to take over the patio, not knowing how many of us were going to show up- the staff was friendly and even bought us a round of drinks. They had karaoke after 9/10pm in which we all stayed for- because why wouldn't we. The inside was kind of loud. Some of the food orders came out later than quoted, some much later. The drinks were moderately priced for Roseville but would be considered high at you local dive bar. I wouldn't NOT go here again, I just don't know that it is my first choice. read more
