This place is exactly what you'd expect: dark and old. It's a CLASSIC dive bar! We showed up at opening on a Saturday and it was empty which was a surprise. The bartender was nice and efficient. They had about 8 beers on tap, some craft and the rest were the classics that you'd expect. I ordered a Hazy IPA from Founders and it hit the spot. My partner ordered a cranberry mimosa and she enjoyed it. We also got a breakfast burrito with sausage to go and it was surprisingly good. They've got an electronic jukebox which was playing some awesome country music. PARKING: They have a huge private parking lot so you will not have any issues finding a spot. They have a few stages which means they probably have some awesome live music. If you're in the area and looking for a good priced drink, definitely pop in. I've been driving by this bar for years! I finally had a reason to drop by for lunch and glad I did. The interior is nice - gave me a comfortable feeling right away. The bartender was friendly. I didn't have any drinks this time, mainly wanted to try out their food (hungry!) The menu was solid. I saw several items I considered ordering, but the Tri-Tip salad was the one I zeroed in on. It was excellent! There was a very generous portion of tri-tip... nice and tender, great smoked flavor... yum! The whole salad was great - nice fresh lettuce and veggies - dressing was on point (I chose blue cheese). I absolutely would order again... but I also want to try a few other things on the menu as well. After eating, I wandered around a bit - they have a couple pool tables and there's really quite a bit of room inside. I'm looking forward to dropping by at night sometime to see what the nightlife is like. I'll definitely be back. read more

Zero charm. Offered to bring in my band Double 00 in for a weekend to bring some vibe to the place. That's when I learned the owner has no interest in bring good vibes. EXTREMELY RUDE FOR SUPER BOWL!! Myself and 2 family members went to the Valencia Club to watch the Superbowl because of the add saying they would play it from coin toss to final second. I stupidly assumed this included the halftime show with Bad Bunny. I enjoy watching every halftime show every year. I enjoy the variety. We bought food and beer to enjoy as well. When halftime came on, a customer at the bar got ahold of the remote and changed the channel. Not to the so called "other halftime show." Just nothing. We told the bartender that we were watching it and asked him to put it back on. He got the remote from the annoying customer and changed it back. We started watching it again. Problem solved. Then another customer yelled for them to turn it down so he did not have to listen to Bad Bunny. The female bartender grabbed the remote and turned the sound completely off. It was then that we told them they had lost us as customers and they yelled back that they didn't care and " don't fall on your fat ass" when we left. I've driven past this place many times, on my way to Kaiser, in Lincoln (we live in Nevada City). It was my husband's birthday so I suggested we stop by on a Monday afternoon, before our celebratory dinner in Roseville at 6pm. Our bartender, Becky, was amazing - Very professional, VERY friendly and helpful to us, offering us local info on some great restaurants, next time we're in the area. While we were there, one of the patrons ordered a beef sandwich and it looked amazing - so we'll definitely make time for food the next time we come. Even though it's 1-hour away from us, I think we'll be coming back next for the Sunday afternoon Rock and Blues from 2-6! All of the patrons at the bar were very friendly and welcoming - I never got a clique-ish vibe at all, which was really nice. HORRIBLE customer service! I've called REPEATEDLY for the past 3 days to place a food order to go and at first they just ignored the calls and then they started hanging up after 2 rings! So let me start off with saying the vibe in this bar is really chill and really laid-back. The atmosphere is really cool. The bartenders are great. Everything was great about this place. Except for the security. The security guard literally threatened to stab my father over joking around. My father and I went in and the guy immediately was sizing up my father. Who's a big man. As we walking thru the parking lot the bouncer, asked my dad. "I hope you're coming in with good intentions." My father jokingly said I'm here to fight and laughed and giggled. The bouncer then immediately said well. This is the place you want to be because I like to fight and I'll fuck you up. My dad still at this point thought this was all a joke and joked back with the man and said don't think just because I'm an old man you're gonna beat me up that easy. That's when the bouncer said well lucky for me. I like to stab people and I'll stab you in a heartbeat. My father then looked at me with a weird look. But we proceeded to go in and try to have a good evening. That wasn't gonna happen. The bouncer went up to my father two or three times grabbing him by the shoulders kept asking him if he was OK and asked him if he was still ready to fight. My father played it off, jokingly, but I could see he was upset. It was obvious to me. This bouncer was trying to instigate my father into a fight to hurt him. I reckon it's time for me to carp about my double Lincoln tokens at this thirst reservoir. Val's Club, it isn't much of a club rather a decorative mold shack that offers entry level lagers of less than desirable makers. Nevertheless, I have my routines and every other Wednesday around 8pm I get a hankering for some trout salsa and a boilmaker chased by a rolling rock. So I throb my wheeled vibratory crotch mount and veer in the direction of this pile. I'm always welcomed at V's. The bartender tips me out just for bringing a crowd of famished looking for swash & detergent trails. I've been comped for my entire bill here for porking down some salt & pepper heifers right on the sticky side of the bar. Never bothered me none. I had attempted to eat here 3 or 4 times but the timing wasn't right. This seems to be more of a dive bar, with great food vs. restaurant. I had been showing up way too early. So, I hopped over to Bass Pro & killed some time before VC opened up. Pulled up to an empty parking lot and a neon Open sign that was not glowing open. Would I strike out again? I pulled on the door and looked inside at what seemed to be a hallway to an empty room with a stage & pool tables. Hello? Anyone home? I turned the corner and saw a bar awkwardly plopped right in the middle of the end of the room. There was a group of 3 girls and a couple at the bar...eating. Yes! I made it. They did have a couple of high top tables but I didn't want the 1 bartender to have to run around, so we just bellied up to the bar. I had a long day and a party ahead if me, so I ordered a water. We looked over the breakfast options & decided to split the Country Benedict. Mariah was our beautiful bartender and she was incredible. I found myself reading the various signs and kitsch this place has gathered over the years and the hand written drink menu caught my eye. Some of the drink names are hilarious & dive bar vulgar proper. I can't even type some of them. I asked her what a white trash can was: "It's like a long island with Midori & a red bull." @_@ I couldn't pass on anything that unique, so I threw caution to the wind & ordered one. Oh. My. Goodness. I can hold my liquor & will tell you that baby was strong. So delicious. I had to sip on it slow but I will tell you, I felt amazing heading into the day after that. The food came out quickly and they even split the order onto 2 plates for us, free of charge. The sausage was the best breakfast sausage I have ever had in my life. The potatoes were crisp & tasty. The gravy complimented everything perfectly. Went to the Valencia Club for the first time. It's located on the corner of Taylor road and English Colony way in Penryn. Kind of out there, but well worth the drive. It has indoor and outdoor dancing with live music and they serve food and drinks. Great getaway for some evening fun. Valencia Club has been in the same building, at the same location since the restaurant opened back in the 1930's. Back in the day, Taylor Road used to be U.S. Highway 40, before I-80 pushed it's way through the Sierra Foothills in the late 1950's. The classic neon sign dates from the 1950's. When the current owners took over back in 2010, they did extensive remodeling, but the left the 1950's "old school" charm in place, but thoroughly modernized the infrastructure of the building. The dining room and dance floor definitely retains the "roadhouse charm" of a bygone era. I came in planning on ordering the "Valencia Burger," which is the flagship of the burger menu. Since today was Tuesday, my friendly server, Michelle, let me know that every Tuesday is "Taco Tuesday" so if you order two tacos, you get the third one FREE! My mind switched gears over to tacos... Now, do I choose ground beef, chicken, fish or carne asada tacos? I ended up with fish tacos, as I when I eat fish tacos, I cam imagine myself on a beach in Baja California! The menu describes the "Fish Tacos" as, "Corona battered Atlantic cod, with VC's homemade coleslaw and sweet chili sauce. I describe the tacos as delicious. Each taco starts out with two tortillas - flour or corn - I chose corn, as that's my preference in tortillas, and corn goes especially well with fish. Each taco has two pieces of battered cod, deep fried perfectly. The taco is topped with tangy coleslaw, and drizzled in sweet, red chili. This makes for a delicious taco! The tacos arrived hot and juicy from the kitchen about 15 minutes after I placed my order. The tortillas were warm, moist, and when you picked up to taco to enjoy, the tortillas didn't break apart. The fish was deep fried to a golden brown, crispy on the outside, moist, juicy and tender on the inside, and not a bit greasy or oily. The coleslaw added a nice touch, as there's nothing better than a bit of cabbage, along with mayonnaise to make for a delicious fish taco. The chili added a slightly sweet touch, which rounded out these delicious tacos. Combine the atmosphere of a classic 1950's highway roadhouse, frequented by colorful, local patrons at the complete bar, cold beer on tap, friendly service, and outstanding food... you have the Valencia Club, Penryn's classic roadhouse. Cute bar. I love the dive/country bar scene. We've been here twice to see our friend perform with his band called Branded. If you ever go see them, be sure to support We stopped by after a retirement celebration/party so we were totally overdressed, but it didn't matter. There are 4 portions to the bar. 1) Inside is a bar, seating area, and dance floor. Most of the country dancing action is in here. 2) Outside is another bar with a smaller dance floor. They play hip-hop outside3) There's also a sectioned off portion to play pool and 4) another outdoor portion. Pretty big local establishment. I need to bring my boots because the crowd definitely has a good time. No rambunctious behavior, just all good fun. Drinks are decent price. A Heineken is 5 bucks. Shots are 10? Not sure. I'm not the one buying, but... I know for sure this is a place to go if you feel like having a good time. We're planning to go back! read more

There really is no reason to complain about this place. We've been here many times during or after a ride. It is indeed mostly a "biker bar" type of place as there are usually any number of bikes parked out front. But, it is friendly, open, and welcoming to all as well. I've only ate there once at our most recent stop there and ordered the Cowboy Burger. Very very VERY yummy and the tater tots were perfectly crispy and flavorful! I look forward to trying more of their menu since I've been told "everything is great!". We usually plan to stop at the VC when we're in the area, that will not change. I'm rating based on the food. The service was fine, the atmosphere neat. Kind of an abandoned bar in the woods feel to it. But the food.. the tri tip tasted like raccoon (I've had raccoon before and it is not a compliment) all the food was soggy, undercooked or overcooked and tasted like it's been sitting a while in the back of the freezer. I hoped upon hope that the chili's sour flavor was the beer and not the spoiled meat. Don't go here for the food. Bar looks a lot better. Wish I wasn't taken a break from drinking for my health. Last Friday night, May 10th, my son was sitting at the bar. He was minding his own business hanging with a friend, when an non employee, an ex bouncer, approached him and told him he was permanently 86'd. In an instant this person pulled my son off of the stool and threw him to the ground. That is assault! A bar brawl ensued. What in the world??? Law enforcement should have been called and this joker charged. My husband and I like to have an occasional Bloody Mary at your bar but we will never patronize the VC again. read more

On Friday and Saturday nights they have a $5 cover for whatever live band they have playing and they have a DJ in the back yard playing club style dance music. They also have corn hole out back. And horse shoes (on the weekends only though). Every first Friday of the month they have a bull riding contest with prizes (weather permitting). They have karaoke on Tuesday and Thursday nights. A live band on Wednesday nights with no cover. They have amped up their menu and in my opinion have one of the best burgers in town. They have a Taco Tuesday special where you buy 2 tacos of the same flavor and get the third free. Lots of specialty drinks and shots. Beer on tap, booze over ice.
