The people were friendly, the crowd welcoming. I was a regular patron who enjoyed the atmosphere 2-3 nights a week. I came for the Karaoke. SIL had 2 hosts until recently. I like them both but a week or so ago one was "let go". This was done without notice, without considering what effect this might have on its clientele. OK, people lose positions all the time, right? Yeah, but the way they did it, their lack of loyalty, both to the KJ and to us their patrons who were not allowed one last night to say goodbye, that dismissal showed us all that WE were disregarded. I, and many of the regulars will not be back.

We were blown away by all the stuff ( many antiques) in a whimsical setting! Before we ordered lunch we wanted to take a look at everything. Almost like a funky museum! So much to see on the walls and hanging above in the ceiling! Huge outdoor patio and dancing upstairs. We shared the Bear Burger for just under 13 bucks. I omitted the lettuce. The burger was done just right and the bun had a nice slightly toasted feel. We also shared garlic fries ( i asked for extra garlic) and they were delicious! We enjoyed a glass of wine and a beer. GARRETT waited on us at the order area and he was so polite and wonderful! Cute! Just so you know you place the order at the counter and pay then they call your name on the speaker to pick up. Bartender was also very delightful and my puppy really warmed up to him! Service was fast in a very fun environment! Ps..I think they offer 99 cent shots on the weekends! I especially loved the curly cheese fries, and the fried chicken sandwich was good too. The place is steeped in history. I'm not really a bar person and the energy isn't quite my vibe, but there's a lot to appreciate--especially the wild ceilings packed with random items. It's unique and full of character, even if it isn't perfectly aligned with my usual preferences. My husband, a local who grew up in Butte County, shared some great stories about his Chico State days, back when this was still a quieter town of wealthy families with unpaved roads. Those little pieces of local history made the visit even more interesting. A solid, character-filled stop if you enjoy the Bar vibe, you're hungry after a hike and open to a place with real personality.

Well I was pleasantly surprised as it was a pretty cool, divey spot. There is a large bar and many pool tables, a sign posted saying it was the only pool hall in Chico. I didn't check out the tables but almost all of them were taken by various groups. The clientele was extremely varied between regulars and people stopping in for one drink like us.
