Braise Short Ribs - A dish featuring braised short ribs with carrots, celery, and greens served with gravy on a white plate.

The ambiance is cute, casual, and has a modern environment. I particularly liked the open kitchen concept. We were seated right away on a Tuesday night, which was my third time there. My boyfriend was trying it out for the first time. The service was a bit slow. I wasn't sure if they were understaffed or if the waitress was new. We ordered the angry mussels and the braised short ribs. After 10 minutes, the waitress informed us that they were out of mussels, so we opted for shrimp instead. I'm not sure why they didn't know they were out of mussels and we had to wait 10 minutes after ordering. The food did take a while to arrive. There were about four seated couples and a few people at the bar. I gave the service a mid-For rating and the food an excellent rating. Overall, it must have been a rough night for them since it was a Tuesday. The food was delicious, though.

Decided to check this place out the other night. I had my dog with me and we showed up around 7:15 for dinner. They sat us quickly on the outdoor patio and were quick to bring menus and water for both myself and my pup. At the waitresses suggestion I ordered a variation of the SALMON SCALLOPINI. Instead of pasta she recommended a bed of mashed potatoes and to hold off on the Roma tomatoes. My first thought was that I had never had salmon and mash potatoes as a combo before but hey....i was feeling adventurous. While I waited for my dinner, I ordered a BK Old Fashioned to drink and honestly this was the only item that wasn't up to standard. The ice cube was on point, perfectly clear and good sized. The rest of the drink was lackluster. The ice cube made up the largest portion of the drink and there was no orange peel rub on the rim and no cheery in the drink. I know different places have different ways of doing things but this wasn't truly an Old Fashioned in my opinion. Two sips and it was gone. I think I've taken shots bigger than this drink. The waitress was great! Super attentive and friendly. The food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time and WOW, I really didn't think I was going to enjoy it as much as I did. The flavors were all very good and complimentary and the salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes actually went very well with the salmon and the dish was filling and well proportioned. I will be back again in the future to try more of their delicious dinner options.

Caesar salad - A Caesar salad featuring chopped romaine lettuce, grated cheese, croutons, and a small anchovy fillet on top, served on a dark plate.

Gave this place another shot since it had been awhile and the menu looked updated. Hubs and I did a couple of appetizers, he did a burger, I did a salad. I feel that the menu has improved greatly with small plates, flatbreads, and entrees. Lots of variety with the small plates from mussels, to veg, to ahi tuna, to tacos. We picked pork belly tacos and Spanish tacos for apps. Both were delish with tons of flavor. Hubs Hudson burger was juicy and I loved the fried onions on it. My Caesar salad was dressed perfectly and would've only been improved by some fresh cracked pepper. Our server was super sweet and even though it was pretty busy, she made sure we felt taken care of.

We've dined here several times in the past month. Service? Excellent! Food? Delicious! Ambiance? Casual and friendly. I had the short rib with whippy potatoes and hubs had the burger. No complaints here. If you haven't tried it, give it a chance. The menu is eclectic and varied.

Burban Kitchen, under new ownership for a couple of years, by Christian Michael Steinbach, locally known as Christian Michael from his flagship restaurant closed since COVID. Post COVID he took over the closed Burban Kitchen with his own flare and delicious menu. We enjoy the neighborhood feel, perfect for date night, friends getting together, & special occasions. They have a good selection of wines & speciality cocktail menu. The Burban Old Fashion being a popular one & my favorite! They recently opened for Brunch on Saturdays & Sundays too. Everyone who works there is friendly, helpful and professional. The chefs are so friendly in the back, and even Antonio who works his tail off keeping the service & cookware sparkling. Finally, the patio is comfortable on a nice day. Dan Gonzales & development partners have done a great job creating a living, working, recreating & dining neighborhood. Stop by Burban on your way to enjoy an event at "The Barn" across the street or meeting friends after a mani-pedi or work out.

Love this place!! I've been a fan since they first opened. Their appetizers are the real showstoppers here - the fired green tomatoes, beet salad, and Brussels sprouts are my personal favorites. My family likes the ahi tuna and pork as main dishes, but you really can't go wrong with anything there. The cocktails are decent - the garnishes are great, but the flavor is lacking. I ordered my usual pork this time around, but the vegetable on the side changed - I believe it was some sort of roasted veggie last time which went well with the pork. This time, I received a pile of flavorless spinach as my veggie. Otherwise, the food was up to par and delicious as always! The waiters are always super friendly, and pretty laid back given the setting. I prefer dining here when it's a bit busier because the energy is nice, but I appreciate getting in without a reservation as well.

Burban Kitchen has stolen my heart...err, stomach, with their Brussels sprouts! I've been here twice now, both times on the patio, both times with excellent service. The primary reason I will never be a reliable food critic is because once I find something I like, I continue to return for that one thing. I'm not very menu-adventurous. But, my goodness, am I loyal. The staff at Burban is also very welcoming of my pooch, who usually accompanies me for patio dining. I'll be back for sure!

Great brunch! Food was super yummy and great service! We sat on their patio and it was lovely. Would recommend the Bloody Mary, waffles and eggs Benedict!

Try the brussel sprouts, they are very good crispy with cheese and pork belly. The steak was good too. The salad was huge.

Never Made It Inside - Poor Wait Time Management…read more We were really looking forward to trying this place for the first time, but unfortunately never got to eat here. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and were told the wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour. We understood it was busy and put our name down. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes, we checked back in, only to be told they had no idea when we'd be seated. We gave it another 10 minutes, but still no timeline or update. I completely understand that restaurants get slammed and wait times can be unpredictable. What was frustrating wasn't the wait itself - it was the lack of honest communication. If it was going to be a 1.5-2 hour wait, just tell us upfront so we can make an informed decision about our evening. Honestly, the host seemed to have forgotten about us as she seemed surprised and scrolled way down the list to find our name even though we were "top of the list". After waiting over 1.5 hours with no end in sight and getting increasingly hungry, we had to leave and grab food elsewhere. With three hosts working, I would have expected better expectation management than what we experienced tonight. I hope this was just an off night, but we left disappointed and hungry.

I know, I know, its a…read morecollege town, don't gripe about the college kids... but holy hell its nice to hang out with the grown ups sometimes! A couple of tips for the newbie adult headed to this VIP lounge: 1) Make sure to get your booty up there prior to 9pm (after 9pm there is a $10 cover charge) 2) $10 isn't going to break the bank, I get it however, it IS a key bit of info so take it for what its worth. (Its worth ten bucks, ha!) Make sure that if you should arrive before 9, like for happy hour, and stay after 9, that your given a wrist band so you can wander from floor to floor without having to pay the entry fee 3) If you get there prior to 9pm and have a person or people you actually want to speak (and not yell at) the music is at a normal level so carrying a conversation is tres easy. Beware, after 9pm they PUMP up the volume so be prepared to yell your conversation after that time frame kicks in 4) And speaking of 'tres' this bar is tres chic, there is a ton of cozy seating, you can go find a booth which is semi private or go more public and choose a table out in the open (along with more cozy seats) 5) They have an 'L' shaped pool table, very weird but very cool and ultra different. I've never seen one quite like it anywhere else 6) The martini selection is pretty tasty (see my pix) and the prices are right up my alley (marginally priced and well worth it) 7) The absolute BEST part of my experience here at the VIP Ultra Lounge was Stephanie. The adorable, extra friendly bartender/waitress, literally, the best little thing located upstairs. Her personality ROCKED. She gave me mini tour and being that it was my first time here, while she toured, she explained all the bars (total of 4), their highlights and best times to have fun at each of them. Seriously treated me in TOTAL VIP fashion, what a gem!! The cool thing about this bar is that its connected to 3 other totally different (un-VIP, just made up that word) bars. So... if you get tired of being a snobby VIP, you can take your wasty face downstairs and kick it with the college kids. Good thing #8... if your walking sideways and acting like a drunk monkey, you'll blend right in :) Dance, scratch your butt, do a shot then fall on the floor, hey! Have a good time!

Once you are past the cheapest drinks you can buy phase of Chico life, come up to VIP Ultra Lounge. Check 'em out during happy hour to scout if you like it without paying a cover. I enjoyed my melon mojito- with none of the stickiness or smell associated with most the venues in Chico. I get that Chico isn't used to paying much of a cover charge at all, but I'd rather pay a cover and go somewhere gorgeous, comfortable & clean. I used to love the Bear & LaSalles, but you go there after a few drinks because otherwise you'd never get past the smell and in the door. You can smell them from outside. Yuck. Other than harping on the fantasticness of a clean place- my husband has enjoyed his drinks there as well, we've had tacos and a steak/gorganzola pizza during happy hour- all good stuff. And that explains why I'm headed there in 40 minutes to celebrate the end of my work week!

We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.
