When the waiter came by I let them know I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen in over a year and we were planning a long lunch. It was a Saturday afternoon and not busy. My guest arrived and the sever didn't come back for at least 10 min. But ok. No biggie. We ordered a soda and an iced tea. When those arrived we ordered food. My tacos came quickly and then we sat, looking at my food while we waited for the other entrée, the burger. 10 minutes later it shows up served by another server, no explanation or even acknowledgement that it took 10 minutes between me being served and my companion being served. Anyway our server was MIA for the rest of our stay. No offer of a refill for our beverages, no asking if the food was ok. Nothing. We stayed about 2 hours total and my normal policy is to double the tip because I have taken a table for about twice as long as normal. Unfortunately service was sub par. Oh and tea was incredibly strong not in a good way.

The rest of the food holds its own too, but coming to Bella's and not at least considering the wings feels slightly disrespectful. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a downtown sports pub. TVs everywhere, games on, people talking over each other, drinks moving around, and enough noise to make the place feel alive without completely losing the ability to have a conversation. On a big game day, it's even better. Service has always been friendly and laid-back in my experience, even when they're slammed. There's nothing overly polished about Bella's, and honestly, I wouldn't want there to be. That's part of the charm. I don't go out in downtown Chico nearly as much as I used to, but Bella's is still one of those places I'm always happy to end up at. Good wings, cold drinks, sports on every screen, and that familiar downtown Chico energy. Some places don't need to reinvent themselves. They just need to keep doing what made people like them in the first place. Bella's is one of those places.

I recently dined at Quackers lounge and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, I appreciated that the kitchen staff were able to accommodate my request for unsalted french fries, which were served just as I asked. However, the main part of my meal, the hamburger, was disappointingly salty. When I raised this issue with the waitress, she informed me that the seasoning for the burgers is premade and that modifications were not possible, which was not mentioned at the time of ordering. Despite explaining that the burger's saltiness made it inedible for me, the response was underwhelming. The waitress acknowledged the issue but only offered a minimal compensation of two dollars, even though I was unable to eat the burger. Moreover, the manager seemed disinterested in addressing the situation or ensuring customer satisfaction, focusing more on profit. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility in meal preparation and the inadequate service response when I voiced my concerns. I do not feel valued as a customer at Quackers lounge, and am hesitant to recommend it to others looking for a considerate dining experience. read more

All of the girls are AMAZING! The service is always great! Most people don't know that they have their own system there. The servers deal with the tables and the bartenders only serve the bar (I had no idea either until it was explained to me). So maybe they're not ignoring but following their system. Food has always been delicious. The cooks seem to know what they're doing. The DJ's they have on the weekends are usually good with the exception of one or two. Power hour during the weekends from 9-10 PM (all drinks are half off), the owner really knows how to pull a crowd in! Hands down one of the best establishments in town. read more

Love the remodel in the bar, the frozen taps are cool, and the latest and greatest is the addition of the pool hall 2 nine foot tables 2 eight foot tables and a super strange L angle table. I suck on it but will go back and see if I can master it. I here from the staff more things are coming, a card room, patio and new restrooms. The restrooms are the first thing they need to do. read more

For an entree I choose the Grilled 6oz Petit Tender (medium rare) with asparagus and scalloped potatoes topped by a red wine and berry sauce. It was excellent, flavorful with the meat very tender. I was very pleased. It was an abundant portion so I was quite full after consuming it. My dining companion had the grilled meatloaf with ground filet mignon and pork sausage. It is baked and then grilled. I tried some and it is EPIC. It has to be one of the best meatloaf preparation I ever tasted. Bravo on this dish! We shared a bottle of Tempranillo to accompany it which was perfect. For dessert we shared a nice and refreshing mint chocolate chip ice cream which was generously comped as we were there for a special occasion. Thank you!
