Despite the restaurant being almost empty when we went at 11:30 we weren't able to be seated for nearly 30 minutes because they didn't have enough servers. By the time we finally sat, we were definitely ready to order, so it was confusing trying to track down a waiter because we didn't have good Wi-Fi service in the restaurant to use the QR code at the table. When the food finally did arrive it was really good so that's the only reason it's a three star instead of one or two.

Stopped here while setting up our student for the new semester at Chico State. Easy walking distance from the campus. Location was good and they have a nice outdoor patio. Prices for meals ranged between $14-$20. We had the mother cluckin burrito , taco bowl and pesto chicken sandwich. The burrito was probably the best of the group and probably a 3 to 4 star rating. The pesto chicken sandwich was okay and a solid 3 stars. It said it came with a balsamic reduction which would have balanced out the taste profile, but it just didn't come through and appeared to be missing altogether when I opened up the sandwich. The taco bowl started off okay but quickly turned into a 1 star sloppy mess with too much liquid which made it into more of a mush bowl. They appeared to be understaffed with servers resulting in slow service and no checkins until we were ready to go. Overall it is 3 stars, with so many places to try in Chico I probably would go somewhere else before revisiting.

My girl and I stopped by Parkside for brunch before we hit the road back to Sacramento! There was no wait and it super empty on a Sunday around 12. I got the French toast with fruit. It was okay, nothing spectacular. My gf got the chicken sliders with potatoes. The chicken sliders were great and had so much flavor! And the potatoes were also soooo good and super crunchy! Would definitely recommend that entree. They also have corn hole outside on the patio!

It helps that I basically had the place to myself. The mussels appetizer dish is great. Pro tip, order extra bread So damn good, lots of garlic

Those AMAZING pretzels and beer cheese!

I Visited parkside for a company dinner party in their banquet room, great experience! Our server's name was Lexi and she had a gentleman with her named Julian helping her out. As soon as I joined the party, Lexi spotted me as a newbie to the party and collected my drink order. Since they have those handy I pads my order was sent right a way and my drink magically appeared in less than 5 minutes! Shortly after appetizers were delivered to our party, we had a spread of Pretzels and Beer cheese and their Brussel sprouts. Holy delish pretzels!!! I don't do bread often but when I do, it'll be the soft, buttery, salty pretzels here! The Brussels were also delish! As everyone was mingling, Lexi and Julian made rounds and made sure everyone was happy. And a big plus, especially in awkward company events, never had an empty glass! Our dinner was catering style, with 2 big Salads, mixed veggies, tri tip, chicken, and salmon, and basically every kind of potato you can have. All delish! I don't usually like chicken at a restaurant but was actually my fave, juicy and flavorful. Dinner was topped with brownies for dessert, yummm. Once dinner was over, a group moved outside to the patio and joined some locals in a game of corn hole and giant Jenga. Once we moved outside, the bartender Alysa took care of us and was so sweet and made sure we all had a fun time. All in all the perfect experience! Hopefully we can get a reservation in for our Company holiday party in December before they book up!

Really delicious food! Went there with a big party and the server did great but one order wasn't put it. Food took a bit of time to get out but it was expected since there was a lot of us. The only issue was the seating as they spilt us into two tables so we put together the tables ourselves. Definitely would love to eat here again!

Just had a wonderful lunch with one of my favorite work sisters. I ordered the French dip and it was absolutely amazing. The bread had the perfect crunch on the outside to the delicious soft bread inside. The meat was tender, I could taste the mushrooms and the cheese. It was so good. My only critique is the flavor of the au jus was a little bland but nothing salt and pepper couldn't cure. Our server Abby was attentive to us. It was a great visit. Will definitely be back

Never Made It Inside - Poor Wait Time Management…read more We were really looking forward to trying this place for the first time, but unfortunately never got to eat here. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and were told the wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour. We understood it was busy and put our name down. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes, we checked back in, only to be told they had no idea when we'd be seated. We gave it another 10 minutes, but still no timeline or update. I completely understand that restaurants get slammed and wait times can be unpredictable. What was frustrating wasn't the wait itself - it was the lack of honest communication. If it was going to be a 1.5-2 hour wait, just tell us upfront so we can make an informed decision about our evening. Honestly, the host seemed to have forgotten about us as she seemed surprised and scrolled way down the list to find our name even though we were "top of the list". After waiting over 1.5 hours with no end in sight and getting increasingly hungry, we had to leave and grab food elsewhere. With three hosts working, I would have expected better expectation management than what we experienced tonight. I hope this was just an off night, but we left disappointed and hungry.

We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.

As someone who has been in the service industry for 20 years, I know first rule is drop your attitude at the door and be nice to the patrons spending their money. We came in to unwind and shake off some recent stresses in our life, she did a great job trying to spoil that for us.

Drinks were fun and fresh Staff attentive and really made us feel welcome Vibe - LOVE IT! The booths are amazing and I love that it was the towne lounge so there's lots of history! Food - the lobster lasagna was delicious. Prime rib cooked on point and loved the sides, they were a little small but the meat made up for it! The duck, it had good flavor but wasn't our favorite good sides though!! 2nd time there.... Staff seemed a little stressed and not as friendly VIBE - LOVED IT! The music started right when we got there and it was perfect for our dinner date. Food - kinda made me sad. The halibut was cooked well but over salted and when it was plated it was a little rough looking. The lamb - tough and did not enjoy it, the rice was bland but the veggies were on point! The others had lobster lasagna and enjoyed and the prime rib and it was just so so that night. drinks: Espresso martini was tasty but served in an odd glass!! Wine was nice and of course when you get anything on the rocks you know what you are in for. Sweets: The Cassata (if I spelled that right) sounded amazing but left us unimpressed. But the bartenders and the staff were very nice and helpful. Came in on a Friday night and had some drinks with some friends was sad to see the specialty shots were all premade and not that great. The next day we came back for a late lunch only to discover it was prom night and super busy. Something has changed to the wings and they taste different than they used to. But they were OK. The garlic fries just had a glob of garlic on top, they were not tossed around in the garlic. That was disappointing too. A friend of ours ordered a burger with a turkey patty and it took forever to get from the kitchen. It took so long they gave us a complementary coupon for a meal in the future. When I asked why it took so long, they said all the turkey patties were frozen and it was taking too long to thaw out. I'm glad it wasn't my burger because I would've hated to know that I just ate a frozen patty. It makes me question the quality of the rest of their burgers at this point. If you have never been here, it is a must see experience. The place is huge and every room has hidden surprises. This is still a Chico staple and I will always come back when I visit.
