    Espresso martini (rocks)

Came here during a very busy time and found a spot at the bar. Manager came over and recommended a beer which I loved. Really great vibe to the place. Not sure why so many low stars. I guess I haven't tried the food, but based on my experience I'll definitely be back to try it! Best espresso martini in town also.

This is looking out the front doors of the entry area. There are high tables there for overflow on busy nights.

Cheers Chico is a wonderful addition to our downtown restaurants. They have a wonderful menu that is not the same as all the other downtown places. They've got some really imaginative things that are delicious. You can either get small plates like appetizers or you can get a full-on dinner or both! This place is really classy inside, with local pieces of art displayed and a really interesting and original decor. I like this place a lot- the service was very good and everyone was so friendly. They have an early happy hour which is great and then regular dinner seating for which I suggest getting a reservation.

What a great spot! Ambiance was very nice & I love what they done with the set up. Tried a few items off the lunch menu and the food was amazing! The pickled devil eggs were phenomenal. The Polenta Nigiri had a wonderful flavor & blended really well with the homemade marinara. I kept it simple with the crispy burger order and it was delicious as well. The seasoning was on point and while I felt I was only hungry enough to eat half of it... I ended up eating the whole thing! Great place and highly recommend!

I happened to be walking by here the other day and thought I would check it out. The inside is really nice and cozy with some fun decor to make the atmosphere enjoyable. They also had Cheers playing on the TV to give it an authentic touch. The food was also very tasty and fun to experience. We had the French dip, the salmon pasta and then some appetizers and cocktails. Its a really nice atmosphere to hang out at in Chico.

Food Service and Ambiance was fabulous! Thanks for the great experience Jeni! Food portions are great. We shared the French Dip and homemade chips and the Caesar Salad. Delicious! Welcome to town! See you again soon.

Our server, Collin, made the entire evening very special. He was friendly, professional and so knowledgeable. We were also fortunate to have the owner, David H. spend time with us and making sure are selections from the Ceasar Salads, garlic bread, leg of lamb, spaghetti and meatballs, lobster lasagna and veal marsala were the best The presentation and flavor of all the dishes were terrific. We tried two of the desserts, apple tart and the affogato were wonderful. Great evening and will be back!

    French dip

Will never be going back. Took 45 minutes to receive our drinks and there were less than 5 people in the restaurant. The food was just not good either. The ranch was super sour, fries were whatever and didn't seem to even be salted, and my French dip was somehow flavorless even though it had horseradish and arugula on it. Burger was equally bad. Also over-priced for how crappy the meal was.

Came in Monday night but weren't able to stay for Trivia. Our server Colin was extremely attentive despite being the only one staffed for the large space. Chips & sauces were definitely made in house, and we both enjoyed our entrees pictured. Definitely on the pricier end but worth it for a nice night out

This was the bouquet they got her.

Never Made It Inside - Poor Wait Time Management…read more We were really looking forward to trying this place for the first time, but unfortunately never got to eat here. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and were told the wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour. We understood it was busy and put our name down. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes, we checked back in, only to be told they had no idea when we'd be seated. We gave it another 10 minutes, but still no timeline or update. I completely understand that restaurants get slammed and wait times can be unpredictable. What was frustrating wasn't the wait itself - it was the lack of honest communication. If it was going to be a 1.5-2 hour wait, just tell us upfront so we can make an informed decision about our evening. Honestly, the host seemed to have forgotten about us as she seemed surprised and scrolled way down the list to find our name even though we were "top of the list". After waiting over 1.5 hours with no end in sight and getting increasingly hungry, we had to leave and grab food elsewhere. With three hosts working, I would have expected better expectation management than what we experienced tonight. I hope this was just an off night, but we left disappointed and hungry.

We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.

I know, I know, its a…read morecollege town, don't gripe about the college kids... but holy hell its nice to hang out with the grown ups sometimes! A couple of tips for the newbie adult headed to this VIP lounge: 1) Make sure to get your booty up there prior to 9pm (after 9pm there is a $10 cover charge) 2) $10 isn't going to break the bank, I get it however, it IS a key bit of info so take it for what its worth. (Its worth ten bucks, ha!) Make sure that if you should arrive before 9, like for happy hour, and stay after 9, that your given a wrist band so you can wander from floor to floor without having to pay the entry fee 3) If you get there prior to 9pm and have a person or people you actually want to speak (and not yell at) the music is at a normal level so carrying a conversation is tres easy. Beware, after 9pm they PUMP up the volume so be prepared to yell your conversation after that time frame kicks in 4) And speaking of 'tres' this bar is tres chic, there is a ton of cozy seating, you can go find a booth which is semi private or go more public and choose a table out in the open (along with more cozy seats) 5) They have an 'L' shaped pool table, very weird but very cool and ultra different. I've never seen one quite like it anywhere else 6) The martini selection is pretty tasty (see my pix) and the prices are right up my alley (marginally priced and well worth it) 7) The absolute BEST part of my experience here at the VIP Ultra Lounge was Stephanie. The adorable, extra friendly bartender/waitress, literally, the best little thing located upstairs. Her personality ROCKED. She gave me mini tour and being that it was my first time here, while she toured, she explained all the bars (total of 4), their highlights and best times to have fun at each of them. Seriously treated me in TOTAL VIP fashion, what a gem!! The cool thing about this bar is that its connected to 3 other totally different (un-VIP, just made up that word) bars. So... if you get tired of being a snobby VIP, you can take your wasty face downstairs and kick it with the college kids. Good thing #8... if your walking sideways and acting like a drunk monkey, you'll blend right in :) Dance, scratch your butt, do a shot then fall on the floor, hey! Have a good time!

I enjoyed my melon mojito- with none of the stickiness or smell associated with most the venues in Chico. I get that Chico isn't used to paying much of a cover charge at all, but I'd rather pay a cover and go somewhere gorgeous, comfortable & clean. I used to love the Bear & LaSalles, but you go there after a few drinks because otherwise you'd never get past the smell and in the door. You can smell them from outside. Yuck. Other than harping on the fantasticness of a clean place- my husband has enjoyed his drinks there as well, we've had tacos and a steak/gorganzola pizza during happy hour- all good stuff. And that explains why I'm headed there in 40 minutes to celebrate the end of my work week!
