I love they are doing that extra umph with recent drag shows allowing new talent in Chico finally. It's refreshing seeing a place where new entertainers can show what they about. The same ole same ole in most drag in Chico is dated. Sir Vix ran an amazing show I'll be glad to come back to! They just need to let the volume up and crank the feeling. Warning the service can be slow but the food is good. I ordered the Hibiscus cocktail which was delicious. My family gets the Big Matt burger every time. And when I say every time, I mean weekly. Best smash burger in Chico, IMHO. I like the plain fries or a salad if I'm feeling "healthy." Great burger, really. Their margarita is fantastic, too. Nice selection of beer if you're not into margaritas. read more

Decided to check out this new restaurant. Sign on door said soft opening. We were one of 3 pairs in there. Looks like they did some darkening and sprucing up inside. Cute sitting area with chesterfield sofas. Ordered the jerk popcorn chicken from the small plates and the Big Matt Burger and the Disco Chicken sandwich from the large plates section. Hubs asked to sub chimichurri fries for his regular fries. Thoughts... Everything came out at once, would've liked to see the small plate first, but no biggie Jerk Popcorn chicken - missing spice. I was really wanting a jerk flavor, got a touch of something...allspice (??) Could have used a bit of salt. Remoulade dipping sauce was tangy and tasty. Big Matt Burger - tasty burger. Really liked the chimichurri fries and glad the hubs asked for the sun. Disco Chicken Sandwich - was ready for this to boogie on my tastebuds, but it fell flat. Chicken fry was dark, like bordering burned. I wish the thigh hd been brined. The breading/crust lacked flavor and could've used a post fryer kiss of salt. Loved the pikliz, could taste the remoulade...and although there was a touch of sweetness I did not taste the honey or chili oil that was supposedly included. Shoestring fries were tasty. You know me, I'll always give any place a second try, especially since this was a soft opening. Will update on my next trip! read more

Where do I start. Fri night, the place has no ambience and no customers. Waiter takes our order and only brings one of our entrees. Steak frites (gristley) with cold fries. And the side Caesar, could have come from McDonalds. Save your money and go to, I don't know, Big Al's would be an improvement. Will never go here again. read more

Don't sleep on this place. Met a friend there a few days ago for lunch and it was fantastic! It was bit slow, but well worth the time and I believe the owner was doing it all himself. We had the jerk popcorn chicken which were spicy and delicious. My buddy had the shrimp and grits and I had the West Sac burger. His bowl was empty and my plate was clear. Drinks are absolutely delicious! 10/10 Food was great, I got a Hot mess chicken sandwich 10/10. Partner got the double burger and 10/10 too! When we went the service was a bit slow but we were chilling, didn't bother us but others were bothered... I love the atmosphere & aesthetic of the place. I had lunch. I ordered the Brussels sprouts to start and they were wonderful and plentiful. I had chicken and waffles for the main which was fabulous. That voo doo honey was on the Brussels and waffle absolutely fantastic . The service was very good, our waiter was top notch, responsive and accommodating. Let me start by saying the lower review was for the service. There were 2 tables occupied with a total of 6 patrons. The bartender came and asked if we wanted drinks, without cracking even a slight smile or looking up. My wife and daughter enjoyed their drinks which arrived in about 10 minutes. We then ordered two appetizers and 3 main dishes. All of the dishes arrived at the same time, about 40 minutes later! Again brought with a grumpy attitude and wishing she was anywhere else. The food was good, but we won't be back. Sadly, the barkeep/waitress made the entire experience a downer. Had to ask multiple times for anything we needed and always received an obligatory "I'm so sorry", we didn't feel like she could have cared less. We may be back if this young lady moves on. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or didn't feel well, but it was obvious she didn't want to be working. read more

I've been to Discovery over 60 times; so I'm qualified to say "Eureka" (and to make bad puns). The service is always stellar, whether it's one bourbon, one shot, or one beer. KatiAnn & Kayla are always providing attentive service behind the bar. Very helpful with the changing menu, providing info on the new specials, and quick pours. Dakota is always correct with the food running and assisting at the bar. 5 out of 5 I've had so many burgers, cardiologists are starting to leave business cards on my windshield. The West Sac, Big Matt, and Double Fast (the newest burger) are all fantastic. Perfectly filling enough you got your dollar is well spent, not too big you need to dial the cardiologist (who conveniently left their business card on your windshield). 5 out of 5 The Fries: Yes, they get their own paragraph. Best in town. Easily. The only way you are not going to enjoy these fries is if you are not a shoestring fan. These are the thinnest I've found around. 10 out of 5 read more

Lunch on a Friday in February 2023: Service was excellent. The two of us sitting at a booth plus two others sitting at their bar were the only customers during our lunch time (11:45 - 1:15). Their Island Pork Bowl was very tasty. $21 The beautiful looking Shrimp & Grits were ok however the shrimp were slightly under cooked and the grits seemed to need a bit longer cooking time. $22 (online on their webpage their price menu showed $20 however on the menu that we were given it showed $22 .... they're new so please bare with them). Federation Utopia Planitia Red Rye beer was great. $7. Ambience seemed nice, the place was clean, the bartender/server cared and we appreciated the nice cloth napkins and quality silverware. It's a fairly new restaurant and I'm guessing they will be changing/improving a few things. read more

Went in tonight to celebrate my sweetie's birthday. I've been seeing the reviews online and was not disappointed! Service was amazing! Our bartender/server Like was so friendly and attentive! We each ordered something different so I got to try a bit of each. We got the chimchurri fries and the pretzel with pimento cheese to start. OMG the pimento cheese was divine and the seasoning on the fries...yum!! My sweetie got the GF jerk chicken bites, friend got the meat hater, the other got the shrimp and grits and I had the burger. I have to say the spice on the chicken bites was sooooo good. Don't know what they add but that and the remoulade was so flavorful. The shrimp and grits we so good. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and paired with the creaminess of the grits...again...OMG. The grilled cheese my friend got was amazing and I have to say my burger was to die for. It was juicy and the pickles gave it such a nice crunch and of course if you've read my reviews before you know I ador a good skinny fry! Matt the owner came out to say hello, lovely man. After dinner we sat at the bar for one more round and visited with Luke. Overall the experience was a perfect 10. Please go try this little family owned gem. You won't be disappointed. read more

This place is new for me and it's just recently opened too. The ambience is very peaceful. People are happy. The food is good. I ordered the pretzel, Mexican corn salad and soup of the day which was French Onion. I'd say the soup was 8.5 / 10 it was incredible just lost some points for too much cheese haha. I will order it every time. The pretzel was fresh alas the cheese dip had grown cold in the serving tin. The esquites dish (Mexican corn ensemble) was very flavorful but lacks direction, I didn't know how to eat it. It's served cold and I was expecting a hot tortilla, or chips? Idk The Federation brews are so nice. I drink the Utopia Red usually. GF ordered a flight of the light ales plus the hef. The succotash sample I tried was put together very well. It's like a very light possible vegetarian chili dish bursting with flavors. Sadly, I was full but brought it home to have for a snack later. read more

Walked in after reading a couple reviews. I had the big Matt burger and absolutely one of the best burgers I've ever had. Wife had the grilled cheese. She loved it. We just happened to be there when a representative from Kleos happened to be there. It is a distilled product made from mastiiha, a Greek super food. Absolutely amazing. read more
