Warning the service can be slow but the food is good. I ordered the Hibiscus cocktail which was delicious. For the food we ordered Burgers and both were very tasty with the yummy shoestring fries on the side. It's a small place, you can seat yourself, but the food and drinks are where it is at.

Well....pardon the cliche but what a discovery ! Not one person in my party of six had ever been to this spot BUT now they are sold . Yummy drinks , cool vibe (a little downscaled Wine time vibe) and good "appys." We went for happy hour which was also a bonus . Server was attentive but over run with tables ...but he did his best! I'd go again ---be sure to get the Brussels sprouts! They are sweet and nutty and crispy! So good!

Decided to check out this new restaurant. Sign on door said soft opening. We were one of 3 pairs in there. Looks like they did some darkening and sprucing up inside. Cute sitting area with chesterfield sofas. Ordered the jerk popcorn chicken from the small plates and the Big Matt Burger and the Disco Chicken sandwich from the large plates section. Hubs asked to sub chimichurri fries for his regular fries. Thoughts... Everything came out at once, would've liked to see the small plate first, but no biggie Jerk Popcorn chicken - missing spice. I was really wanting a jerk flavor, got a touch of something...allspice (??) Could have used a bit of salt. Remoulade dipping sauce was tangy and tasty. Big Matt Burger - tasty burger. Really liked the chimichurri fries and glad the hubs asked for the sun. Disco Chicken Sandwich - was ready for this to boogie on my tastebuds, but it fell flat. Chicken fry was dark, like bordering burned. I wish the thigh hd been brined. The breading/crust lacked flavor and could've used a post fryer kiss of salt. Loved the pikliz, could taste the remoulade...and although there was a touch of sweetness I did not taste the honey or chili oil that was supposedly included. Shoestring fries were tasty. You know me, I'll always give any place a second try, especially since this was a soft opening. Will update on my next trip!

Never Made It Inside - Poor Wait Time Management…read more We were really looking forward to trying this place for the first time, but unfortunately never got to eat here. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and were told the wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour. We understood it was busy and put our name down. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes, we checked back in, only to be told they had no idea when we'd be seated. We gave it another 10 minutes, but still no timeline or update. I completely understand that restaurants get slammed and wait times can be unpredictable. What was frustrating wasn't the wait itself - it was the lack of honest communication. If it was going to be a 1.5-2 hour wait, just tell us upfront so we can make an informed decision about our evening. Honestly, the host seemed to have forgotten about us as she seemed surprised and scrolled way down the list to find our name even though we were "top of the list". After waiting over 1.5 hours with no end in sight and getting increasingly hungry, we had to leave and grab food elsewhere. With three hosts working, I would have expected better expectation management than what we experienced tonight. I hope this was just an off night, but we left disappointed and hungry.

Sunlight danced across playfully colored walls, instantly making the space feel welcoming and alive. Innovative and classic cocktails are offered alongside beer and a modest wine selection. The mocktails looked wonderfully thirst-quenching, but my soul was calling for an orange wine. It served its purpose quite nicely. The menu centers on healthier bar food options, and the intention comes through beautifully. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully sourced, and lovingly prepared rather than simply assembled. The offerings lean playful, with subtle Asian influences that keep things interesting. Our group chose to lean in on the more indulgent side of the menu. The rice tots? Unexpected, whimsical, and absolutely worthy of sharing, crispy little conversation starters. We enjoyed this starter with a little bowl of seasoned mixed nuts. But let's discuss the pastrami sandwich. A glorious indulgence layered with melty cheese, kimchi slaw, and piled onto a locally baked brioche bun. Restraint was simply not invited to this meal. My dinner companions opted for the cheeseburger and were completely delighted. Classic in concept, but elevated in execution, right down to the burger sauce, which struck that elusive perfect balance of tangy, savory, and craveable. And the fries? Skinny, McDonald's-style (yes, that's a compliment), with exactly the right crunch and seasoning. Roselle manages that lovely balancing act of feeling casual yet intentional, playful yet polished. A very happy little find in Chico, California.

I asked if she recommended anything and it was as if she didn't want to interact. We ended up getting pho, steak skewers, rice tots, fried chicken sandwich. I ordered a mocktail which was great. Drinks were fun and fresh Staff attentive and really made us feel welcome Vibe - LOVE IT! The booths are amazing and I love that it was the towne lounge so there's lots of history! The duck, it had good flavor but wasn't our favorite good sides though!! 2nd time there.... Staff seemed a little stressed and not as friendly VIBE - LOVED IT! The music started right when we got there and it was perfect for our dinner date. Food - kinda made me sad. The halibut was cooked well but over salted and when it was plated it was a little rough looking. The lamb - tough and did not enjoy it, the rice was bland but the veggies were on point! The others had lobster lasagna and enjoyed and the prime rib and it was just so so that night. drinks: Espresso martini was tasty but served in an odd glass!! Wine was nice and of course when you get anything on the rocks you know what you are in for. Sweets: The Cassata (if I spelled that right) sounded amazing but left us unimpressed. We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.

You step inside and head upstairs, and suddenly the outside world is forgotten. It's its own little realm holding court in the heart of Chico. It is warm, inviting, and has plenty of seating, with a full cast of attentive staff, and decor that doesn't shout "Italian!" from the rooftops, but is very hipster whispering with confidence. We opened with the lamb appetizer, and I'll admit this with measured humility... it rivaled my own. Tender, well-seasoned, and not a trace of that gamey nonsense. The Brussels sprouts followed suit, crisped just right, delivering that perfect bite between char and flavor. The bread and dipping combo? Let's just say restraint was not my strong suit. A few pizzas passed by like temptation itself, and every one of us took notice. Plans were made... our future visit in the works. For the mains, the birthday girl claimed the ribeye, and it arrived exactly as it should... cooked to perfection, with potatoes that could quietly steal the show if you weren't paying attention. Her boyfriend and I, in a moment of questionable maturity, settled our fate with Rochambeau. He emerged victorious and took the crispy chicken breast with gnocchi, a dish generous enough to test even a committed appetite. I went with the short rib ragu, rich and comforting, the kind of plate that doesn't need explaining. The drink selection holds its own, and the dessert menu read like a final act worth staying for... but we were defeated in the best possible way and bowed out early. Service never missed a beat. Present, attentive, and smooth from start to finish. Parking, as with most things in downtown Chico, requires a bit of patience and perhaps a small offering to the parking gods. But once inside, it's quickly forgotten. All told, a night well spent. Good food, good company, and a place that knows exactly what it's doing without needing to announce it. We'll be back... if only to answer the question those passing pizzas left behind.

I know, I know, its a…read morecollege town, don't gripe about the college kids... but holy hell its nice to hang out with the grown ups sometimes! A couple of tips for the newbie adult headed to this VIP lounge: 1) Make sure to get your booty up there prior to 9pm (after 9pm there is a $10 cover charge) 2) $10 isn't going to break the bank, I get it however, it IS a key bit of info so take it for what its worth. (Its worth ten bucks, ha!) Make sure that if you should arrive before 9, like for happy hour, and stay after 9, that your given a wrist band so you can wander from floor to floor without having to pay the entry fee 3) If you get there prior to 9pm and have a person or people you actually want to speak (and not yell at) the music is at a normal level so carrying a conversation is tres easy. Beware, after 9pm they PUMP up the volume so be prepared to yell your conversation after that time frame kicks in 4) And speaking of 'tres' this bar is tres chic, there is a ton of cozy seating, you can go find a booth which is semi private or go more public and choose a table out in the open (along with more cozy seats) 5) They have an 'L' shaped pool table, very weird but very cool and ultra different. I've never seen one quite like it anywhere else 6) The martini selection is pretty tasty (see my pix) and the prices are right up my alley (marginally priced and well worth it) 7) The absolute BEST part of my experience here at the VIP Ultra Lounge was Stephanie. The adorable, extra friendly bartender/waitress, literally, the best little thing located upstairs. Her personality ROCKED. She gave me mini tour and being that it was my first time here, while she toured, she explained all the bars (total of 4), their highlights and best times to have fun at each of them. Seriously treated me in TOTAL VIP fashion, what a gem!! The cool thing about this bar is that its connected to 3 other totally different (un-VIP, just made up that word) bars. So... if you get tired of being a snobby VIP, you can take your wasty face downstairs and kick it with the college kids. Good thing #8... if your walking sideways and acting like a drunk monkey, you'll blend right in :) Dance, scratch your butt, do a shot then fall on the floor, hey! Have a good time!

I used to love the Bear & LaSalles, but you go there after a few drinks because otherwise you'd never get past the smell and in the door. You can smell them from outside. Yuck.
