We came here for breakfast ( scrambled eggs..bacon..toast) but they only serve that on the weekends. We pivoted and got the Waglu burger with garlic parm fries. The burger was juicy ( messy..extra napkins ) and the fries were nice and crunchy and delicious! Plenty of garlic! I ordered a buttery chardonnay and he got a Farmer's Brewing beer. Very good with the food that we shared! The waiter BRADEN was wonderful and very attentive! Great personality ! The only thing I was surprised about was the 2 dollar charge for alittle ranch dressing and 5 dollars to split the plate. Never ate the dressing and never asked to "split" the plate. Other than that the food was tasty and the waiter was awesome! I heard their brunch is very popular with make your own bloody marys!

I would imagine their restaurant is great too, but have not tried for lunch/dinner.

The service came across as unwelcoming, and we didn't feel particularly valued as customers. We were there during happy hour, when well drinks were advertised at $10. However, when we received our bill, the whiskey sour was charged $6 more than expected, along with an additional 3% service fee. We were also paying cash. Additionally, the wine glass had a chip along the rim, which was concerning. We ended up having our drinks and asking for the check rather than staying longer. It's unfortunate because the restaurant itself is lovely, and the menu looks wonderful. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt this experience was worth sharing. I hope the owner takes this feedback constructively, as a few people we spoke with had similar experiences. Food was also very good but didn't stand out quite as much. We came in on a Tuesday night in large part because Crush was closed which was our first choice for the third dinner in Chico. We had already eaten as 5th St Steakhouse and the Sierra Nevada Taproom on earlier nights and I would only pick Sierra Nevada over this place because it's such an institution if you've never been there before. Otherwise this is my current top pic in Chico. Our server was really great. Checked in often and accommodating to ask about minor modifications to cocktails (mostly light syrup requests). When I see a restaurant cocktail menu I usually see 1-2 things that sound good but they have a great cocktail list where half sounded great. Started off with a Passionfruit Porto Sour and they accommodated a request for 1/2 simple syrup on it. It was good. My dinner mate got a Pomegranate Ginger Martini which was good enough to order a second later. We also were able to squeeze in a couple of happy hour apps. The Roman artichokes and shrimp gambas were good and easy to share. They also start you off with a little biscuit amuse bouche with compound butter but it was a miss. Very dense and not super flavorful or right out of the oven. The compound butter wasn't good enough to salvage it either. That bite was probably the worse of the night which is a positive. I got eh ribeye with salsa verde, broccolini and fingering potatoes which was good. They were a little heavy handed for my taste with the salsa verde but was ok because it was thick enough to scape partially off and it wasn't too salty and tasty. Just too much covering the steak. The steak itself was ok and already cut into strips but not a standout. The steak at 5th Street was better cut and cooked piece of meat. The broccolini was fine as well but the best thing on the plate was the fingerling potatoes and I'm not a potatoes person. They were partially smashed and cooked well enough to have some crispy outside. Dinner mate had the grilled petite tender which was a filet with a nice fruit glaze and they liked it but I didn't try. I ordered a second cocktail in the form of a coffee Negroni which I had never had before and was eager to try but was told they ran out because they pre-batch it. I got an east side instead off menu and it was solid. We followed up with a chocolate martini and a penicillin (1/2 honey) which was a nice end. Friendly attentive service, great drinks and solid food. We ate on a nice outdoor patio which was nice in the warm weather but there were a lot of flies and the table tops have ridges which made the cocktails on there dicey. Overall strongly recommend!

With the description of a "tarte" plus "puffed pastry" I was somewhat surprised when what looked like a flatbread arrived. Although somewhat true to the description I expected something like a cup shaped pastry. It was delicious enough so no complaints over the ingredients and flavor. If anything it tasted a bit top heavy with vinegar, yet still enjoyable. I washed it down with a Schramsberg Prosecco which was a perfect accompaniment. For an entree I choose the Grilled 6oz Petit Tender (medium rare) with asparagus and scalloped potatoes topped by a red wine and berry sauce. It was excellent, flavorful with the meat very tender. I was very pleased. It was an abundant portion so I was quite full after consuming it. My dining companion had the grilled meatloaf with ground filet mignon and pork sausage. It is baked and then grilled. I tried some and it is EPIC. It has to be one of the best meatloaf preparation I ever tasted. Bravo on this dish! We shared a bottle of Tempranillo to accompany it which was perfect. For dessert we shared a nice and refreshing mint chocolate chip ice cream which was generously comped as we were there for a special occasion. Thank you! Highly acidic flat wine that had a few varieties in bottle. We choked our way thru the first tasting and apologized to the staff member " it just wasn't our flavor". I paid the full fare and he denied it. I apologized again and left it in his tip jar for two tasting and a glass. This winery has been around since the 80's. (I do really like the burrata ones as well, but it's just so easy to make on your own from Trader Joes at a much lower premium.) I also love that they offer complementary focaccia, which used to be made in house. I don't believe it is now, but it is still very good. My fave dishes to get are anything with their droolworthy polenta like their chicken or veal saltimbocca (I prefer the chicken) for dinner or their chicken marsala for lunch. The chicken marsala probably is my absolute favorite, which means I HAVE to come here for their lunch sometimes, which are only Thursday and Friday. Really lovely atmosphere. I have and love to sit on their porch but no longer do because of the traffic noise. Chico designed Bruce with the traffic light right there and it's so bad - basically a raceway for meatheads in their loud trucks and motorcycles when the light turns green. We shared the black forest ham spatzle ( not sure if I spelled it correctly) which is a German inspired dish. It was delicious! Noodles cooked perfectly with plenty of ham and goodness in the bowl! First time I tried something a bit different and glad we ordered this ( came specially for this house favorite). Full bar and a ton of craft beers to choose from! The place is bicycle themed with a bike shop next door. Very cool and casual! When we left it was already very busy! I will come again because I really liked this dish plus the parking lot was shaded with beautiful trees and outside had a nice breeze!

Wow, those were some great pork chops, I'll go back to my Local Raleys and get there again! Beef prices are getting too high and these taste even better!
