    Super doggo friendly!

This place is absolutely wonderful! Dozens of delicious craft beer, and ciders, the friendliest owners and staff, fun games and coloring books, live music, super chill and always good energy. Oh and VERY doggo friendly!!

    Fancy pudding- golden stout yummmm

Great hidden gem in Chico. The guys know their stuff. Lots of beer choices. Tv's and music. All is good. No stouts on the day we went, but the FANCY PUDDING golden stout was amazing. If you close your eyes when you take a drink, you think that it's a regular dark stout.

Just a small cross section of what they offer.

So I have always been looking for my very own "Cheers" type bar. Don't get me wrong, they don't shout your name as you walk in, but what they DO do (hee hee(doodoo)hee hee) is remember their customers likes and dislikes. Willie and Claire almost always have a couple IPAs, porters, or my fav, sours to suggest. I'm not sure if they have a little Jedi blood or what, but they have literally NEVER steered me wrong. Now, about the beers... it's hands down, the best selection and variations in Chico. Hell. Maybe in all of Nor Cal! Another great thing I've been using more of lately are the apps. They are on both Untapped and Digital Pour. Now before I even go, I can see what new stuff has just been tapped or find out how much is left of my obsession of the week (RIP Triple Haole Punch. Our time was much too brief). Next, is what they DONT offer. You want a burger? Go to Macdonald's. You want a Chocolate Martini? Well God help you... This place is for BEER drinkers and is owned by beer geniuses. Full disclosure--They do keep menus of all the restaurants in the Almond Orchard and encourage people to bring in and wash it down with, I don't know, maybe a beer? So you've got a Pho place a Chinese place, Mexican, and Round Table, etc. Plus, if you ask nicely, they keep bags of chips behind the bar. Today I ordered some flamingo swag off Amazon. It wasn't because of my fetish for long legged pink birds though. Well, maybe a little...Mostly though it was because every Friday they run a great promotion. Anybody wearing flamingo garb gets 10% off their bill as well as a flamingo bottle opener. How can that be anything short of awesome, and today I got to get a pic posted to their Instagram page of me holding the Keg Killer trophy for, you guessed, killing the last of a keg. They also have a pretty epic game room with all the staple bar games. I personally dig the super sized version of Jenga that they have, although if you haven't guessed by now, I'm usually there for the beer. Let's see, what am I forgetting? Beer...Digital Pour...beer...food...Jenga...Keg Killer...excellent selection and knowledge. Oh yeah! They also have a super nice outdoor patio area so you can take your beer for a walk. Look. This place started off trying to just be a good neighborhood taproom for people who like lots of different kinds of high end beers for a decent price, and somewhere along the way turned into a completely awesome one. I could probably keep rambling on about how great they are, but I'm suddenly feeling parched so I'm just going head down there now. I hope to see you all there (although stay off the barstool on the left corner as you walk in... that's MINE)

    Cheers! Ciders all around.

Ok so this is exactly what Chico has been missing for years. Chico Taproom is located in the strip mall along side Gingers & Round Table Pizza. It's an odd spot but the inside is spacious and open. Plenty of tables and bar seats make it great for big groups. They also had several CIDERS on tap, a must for any bonafide taproom in my opinion. They also had several table top games as well as ping pong and giant jenga in the back room. The staff were knowledgeable and willing to give samples of anything you wanted try. The place cleared out by around 11 PM on a Saturday, but didn't close until midnight so depending on your scene you can arrive either earlier when it's more crowded or wait it out. Would absolutely be back and would recommend to friends and family in the area who want a solid place with friends and want to avoid he masses of college students downtown.

Definitely a fan of this new taproom! It's close to my house which is a major plus, and they have a ton of beers on tap. They allow you to bring in food (whether it be from home, take out, delivery, etc.) and they have a really great game selection. A lot of bar seating as well as bigger tables for groups. Their outdoor patio isn't open yet but they said it would be within the month and dogs are allowed out there when the time comes!

Drink the last of a keg... you get to wear this sexy chain!

Perfect ambiance, not overstimulating, and space is nice and airy. It's my own ritual; I always order beignets, and they are consistently good, light and fluffy. This time I ordered the open face toast with bacon (I'm totally butchering what it's actually called), but it was giving eggs benny, and it was so so delicious. Their hollandaise sauce tasted house made so I asked my server (Katie, amazing, 5 stars. Super personable and friendly) and sure enough I learned B Street is a scratch kitchen (absolutely everything is made in-house). IMPRESSIVE. The whole dish was very hearty, exactly what you'd need after a night out and it didn't sit heavy. Thank you B Street, I'll be back soon ;)

Not sure if it was on "off" day for the chef but the Shepherds pie had zero flavor as if no spices or salt was used. The celery and carrots were undercooked and crunchy. There was hardly any meat and veg compared to the amount of potatoes on top. Potatoes also had no flavor of salt or butter. So bland and blech! Aside from the taste of the terrible food, the prices were way too high for the amount of food..$26 for a very small shepherds pie. There is no wait staff. You place your order at the counter. Once we ordered and paid for two shepherds pies (with the tip upfront) we found a table and sat down. The cashier then came to tell us there was only one shepherds pie left (on a Saturday at 5:30 in the evening?) and we could order something else and since we had already paid, he would give us another drink or something to offset the difference. We then ordered The Rancher. This also had hardly any filling with a puff pastry on top. Again, way overpriced at $24. We didn't get another drink to make up for the price difference. On top of all this, the Saturday evening "entertainment" was a group of senior citizens singing songs from the 50's and 60's very LOUDLY. It was a strange choice for a weekend night at a bar. No offense to the singers but wow, it was awkward as you feel as if you have to give a bit of applause since they are literally right next to the table. We left after eating a small amount and went to find dinner somewhere else.

We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.
