They use the freshest produce and serve very innovative cuisine. The Anaheim stuffed chili was delicious-loved the "cheese cracker" that surrounded the chili. My wife loved her beet salad entree, and our guests were very happy with their tri-tip open sandwiches with blue cheese. The wine selections were interesting, well priced, and varied/ CA and many European and other wine areas represented. We had our wedding at Wine Time on September 15th, 2019. Jasmine and her team were amazing to work with! We had a guest list of 80 and it was a little challenging to create a seating chart. Jasmine has a sample chart and was willing to meet with us several times ahead of the event to go over all of our questions. We also had a rehearsal in the back patio and her team was willing to accommodate us before they opened. We also dropped off the wine, chairs and decorations ahead of time and she stored them for us so we didn't have to make extra trips the day of the wedding. I've been lucky enough to visit this place twice in the last week or so. Wonderful service, delicious food. A little pricy, but definitely worth it for a special occasion (or if you just wanna treat yo'self). I loved the cheesy garlic bread, baked brie, butter chicken, spanakopita, anaheim pepper... I wasn't as impressed as others have been with the twice baked purple potatoes, but the puree and pine nuts that come with it help kick it up a notch. Their chipotle chocolate truffles are out of this world. It's definitely my new choice for a nice dinner here in Chico. One note, though the service is good, it can take a while to get your drinks and food. Wouldn't go there if I was in a hurry. But good things come to those who wait! read more

We had an amazing valentine's dinner tonight! I couldn't wait to put a review. We're a young couple who has a young baby and wanted a night out... which was the first time since in about 5 months. We are here last Friday for our first time, it was delicious!! I love the atmosphere, it's artsy and laid back. The lighting is soft, the music was perfect, and the service was great. Wonderful atmosphere for a nice date night. The food is more than delectable and the service fantastic. My husband and I decided to spend our Anniversary in town and have our dinner here. Even on a busy Fri night we were still able to converse without raising our voices. Recalling our experience at Christian Michaels' a few years ago, I found this place far more appealing for a special night out and additionally cheaper with better food and better service. I have been coming here since Wine Time opened a couple of years ago and it is one of my favorite spots in Chico. The manager and staff are extremely friendly, they have a fantastic selection of wine, and the food is amazing! I have attended several work events for large parties here and they have always been extremely accommodating. This is a great spot to go out for dinner with friends or have a romantic evening with a loved one. I highly recommend their Not Garlic Bread and their Flank Steak Flatbread. Because we love this place we reserved the venue for our wedding and it could not have gone more smoothly! The manager met us their at 9 am to start setting up and helped with everything. They helped us with the caterer and baker throughout the process and we were very pleased with the experience. Visited this past weekend and had one of the best dining out experiences I've ever had in Chico. This place without question knocks the socks off of Monks!! From the food to the wine I was impressed with this place. The small plates are all delicious and affordable as well. My girlfriend and I each had two tastings, each a glass of wine, and 4 small plates and the bill was less than $60!! The thing that truly impressed me above and beyond the great food and wine was the service. Our server was courteous and so incredibly helpful without being pushy at all. She let us take our time (almost 2 1/2 hrs) and never once rushed us, on the contrary she let us know that the table was ours as long as we wanted it. No rush whatsoever!! Considering one of my major pet peeves is restaurants bringing the check right after the meal, this was truly a great surprise. My favorite place in Chico!!! I love coming here for a glass of Prosecco at the end of a long week. The decor is beautiful, and the patio is a fun place to sit on warm evenings. The food is fantastic! I always get the "Not Garlic Bread" and the Steak Pinwheels when they have them. The beet salad is also amazing. Everything I have sampled has been consistently delicious, and I have also discovered several new favorite wines from their wine menu. Many wine bars have a pretentious vibe, but not Wine Time. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, and it makes for a fun and relaxing environment. This is not a place to come if you are in a big hurry. But good food and wine is meant to be savored! This place rocks! They have done an absolutely beautiful job renovating an old barn into one of the nicest rooms in Chico. They have an extensive wine list with a very nice emphasis on wines from the North Valley. And the prices on the wines are very reasonable -- the bottle prices are more like what you would see in a retail wine shop than what you would find on a restaurant menu. So about 1/3 less than typical restaurant prices. But even better than the wine and atmosphere is the food. I love the selection and everything I have tried is delicious. I live in San Francisco and come to chico for about a week each month. I am VERY excited to see a wine and tapas restaurant in Chico that is on par with the best places in SF. The staff and owners could not be more friendly and helpful. If they can keep this up, I think they will have a real winner. read more

Ordered a glass of Old Vines from Turley and was served Turley's Juvenile...update your menu and stop selling the cheaper wine at the higher wine price. We should have been told. I asked two different waitresses if they had another Turley wine other than Old Vines and was told no. Bought a bottle thinking it would be Old Vines just to find out it was the Juvenile...of course we took the bottle back. Would never pay $60 for a $25 dollar bottle of wine!! read more

Our first time there was a few days ago and the food, service and building and outdoor area were amazing. The baked figs covered in goat cheese and honey small plate was incredible. The sweetness of the fig and honey contrasted with the cheese left us wanting more... so we ordered another plate. The outdoor patio area was cozy and relaxing. Had a great evening at Wine Time in North Chico. This part of town really needed some place like Wine Time. The wine list was nice, but I was hoping to see some more foreign wines and a few more mid range wines. The chef is a local chef and it seems that he has been having a great time creating a menu that takes advantage of the local produce to create an interesting menu of small plates. Very good service. Great wine. Food is good but I wish they had more main course food selections. Amazing ambiance. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 based solely on the noise level getting VERY loud during dinner hours. So loud guests end up yelling across tables just to be heard. I suggest going early and making reservations to avoid long waits for a table. They also have a beautiful summer patio. It is located in a renovated barn, and the interior decor is beautiful. No snooty vibe whatsoever, we felt embraced by the staff from the moment we walked in! So, I've been here twice before with friends. The food was pretty good, the wine selection good. The setting on the patio is nice despite looking through a cyclone fence at the back of a grungy auto shop garage, they've done what they can to minimize that and the inside of the main room was really re-done well. Here's the problem, all that work to put together a nice physical environment, put together a decent small plate menu and some tasty desserts...and a wine selection that is pretty decent for Chico and then you blow it with your wait staff's service. Bummer. We walked in at 8:50pm (place is open until 11pm), found a table we liked inside, salsa and other food debris on it. There are 4 staff working the floor and maybe 10 people in there at 4 different tables...not a crowd AT ALL. One girl is cleaning a table near us, and decides to not look at or consider the table where some patrons have just sat down. Our waitress comes to our table and sees the mess and apologizes and says, "Let me clean this table off real quick." Fine. She then has to negotiate with the other staff member to use her towel, cleans our table and let's us know which wines are out of stock and which dishes are not available. We explain that we aren't going to be picky since we are starving and know what we want. She says, "I will be right back." We look at wine list, had already decided on food, and put down our menus and wait. And wait, and wait. I looked at my phone 6 minutes in, we had not seen our waitress since, but I watched another waitress come and go from the patio twice. The other waitress that had been initially cleaning a table near us sat behind the bar directly in front of us the entire time talking to the girl working behind the bar as they discussed a phone call from earlier and then "life-stuff". I stared directly at them the entire time, they looked at me twice and then the bar girl walked back into the kitchen finally, only to come back and get on the phone again. I told my wife, "let's leave." We took our time, stood up...pushed in our chairs and slowly walked out. Nobody asked us if we had been served, or inquired about our departure a mere 15 minutes after our arrival. I'm a business owner in town, we bring a lot of clients into town, we coordinate lots of dinner and drink outings for friends and guests here in Chico...but at the end of the day, nice digs, good food options, and ample libations don't make up for un-attentive service and it's just too bad that a few unfocused employees can negate all that investment and planning. This is a great place to meet up with a few friends for wine and small bites to eat. In fact, it's my favorite place to do just that. I wouldn't come here if you're starving or short on time, though. The wine selection is great and changes every so often, and the servers are always more than willing to do what they can to help you with your wine choices (which is awesome for my husband because he's more of a craft brew type of guy). Every time I walk in here my heart skips a beat. It's gorgeous and tastefully artistic. Not too over the top, but very impressive. I love love love it. The only reason I knocked a star off is because of the food selection. Granted, I've never disliked anything we have eaten here, but the vegetarian options are sometimes slim and not fulfilling. The summer months are usually much tastier and varied because of the seasonality of the ingredients that I am drawn to (like fresh fruit in salads). Also, I wish they would offer a daily wine flight and not just a happy hour one. It is very rare for all my friends to meet up there in time for the flight. I honestly just like trying a little bit of new things and don't like settling on just one or two glasses of "safe" wine choices. If they're really looking to offer variety and new options to hesitant customers they should feature a wine flight available all night long to satisfy our wannabe winederlust. read more
