Good food and drinks. Decent atmosphere. Service is a gamble. Some of the servers are great, while others really don't understand how to make a guests experience enjoyable (not friendly enough mostly). INSANE prices. 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 diet cokes. 83 DOLLARS. Like, cmon guys. Management needs to lower prices and make sure their servers know how to interact with guests. Just because someone has experience in service, doesn't mean they're good. Came to Bar 101 for happy hour a little bit early at about 430. Happy hour menu compared to others we've been to was a little weak (No burger option) but they offered a variety of fried foods nonetheless. I opted for a hamburger and went with the San Francisco burger, which was 1/3 pound patty on sourdough with lettuce, tomato, and all the fixings. The burger itself was delicious and the fries honestly were some of the best I ever had with a beautiful crunch to them. The drinks were good and they had a very special vodka served at happy hour, so I had a vodka tonic, and it was delicious. The atmosphere is really cool and they have a pool table isolated in a little open room. They also have a patio which is shaded due to the way the sun sets, so it's beautiful, especially in the summer. They have live music and an open mike on Wednesday nights which I would've loved to stayed and listen to because we were here on a Wednesday night but just a little too early as it goes from 7 to 9. Definitely will come back to hear some other night. Parking can be a little fragile in downtown Roseville although there are plenty of public parking spaces if you're willing to walk a block or two. Overall, the building is set in old town, Roseville so the overall atmosphere in downtown has that iconic old Roseville feel. Based on the atmosphere, food quality and drink quality overall rating a 4.5 I will be back. read more

I have visited Bar 101 a few times over the years when visiting my grandma in Roseville. I have always been impressed by their food! The burgers here are incredible, the street tacos are scrumptious, and the kids' meals come with plentiful portions. I am such a sucker for a PB&J Burger. They make a great one here at Bar 101. There is a pretty good beer list here, and also a full bar for both cocktails and mocktails. They also sometimes offer live music- fun! The seating is great with plenty of indoor and outdoor options. Our waitress on this last visit was so friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable with our two young boys. For old town Roseville restaurants, this one is certainly worth a try! Let me put it in perspective FOOD wise... My wife and I live in Elk Grove.... Last time we visited here, she ordered the classic burger with a beyond patty, and I ordered the delicious peanut butter and jelly style burger with a beyond patty. We went on a Monday night and they were understaffed especially given it was the night of the national college football game. Right now given my more strict food diet, most things on the menu, though most likely delicious, cannot be enjoyably devoured for the present. Also, I do not drink any alcoholic drinks except for some pricey small glass of white wine, port or champagne once every two or more years. However, all my friends and acquantances who have gone there have favorable comments to share. Just based on their good experience at Bar 101, I am rating 5 stars on their behalf since I bet they neglected to rate on Yelp. read more

From the second we walked in, the bartender/staff were so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating ... quickly putting tables together for our big group and making sure everyone was taken care of. The owners are also so friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole place feel even more inviting. We ordered a little bit of everything ... BLTs, chicken wings, fish tacos, ground beef tacos, a chicken Cobb salad, grilled cheese, macaroni bites and more -- and every single thing that came out was delicious. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh even with such a large group. The cocktails and mocktails were also sooo good! I came here on a Sunday for lunch after taking a break from shopping at the mall. I came here after seeing all of the great reviews on Yelp. I sat at the bar since it always seemed easier to get service and drinks. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich with a salad. The chicken was juicy and it had a slight kick of spiciness which was good. I also wanted to try some of the tacos. I ordered the Pescado, Pollo Asado, and Carnitas Tacos. The tacos were good and I had plenty of food for lunch for the week. The tacos would be a great snack if you were not as hungry. Our favorite was their fish & chips. soggy fish and soggy chips. Today, more squishy fishy. Fries were good. Tonight was terrible. Our order was for takeout. To make matters worse, I was feeling generous and tipped 20% for the bartender and 20% for the chef. Chef status doesn't apply anymore. Staff at lunch appeared to be one waitress and one cook. We were seated promptly and service was decent. We had a large group with drinks and food for lunch. They have a nice outdoor patio area and a large interior, with live music at certain times. It's a popular restaurant. Soooo, we dropped in on St. Patty's day for lunch. The entire old town area was buzzing with revelers, which is awesome. We were seated outside, and our server came by to get our orders. But, then we waited and waited and waited....For an hour and 15 mins.... We watched other tables get seated, order, eat, and leave... still there we sat. Server only came back once to tell us 'our' order was in... In where? another state? I went in to speak with the manager, and she simply indicated the kitchen was backed up due to the volume of people. Yes, it's crowded, but yes it is also a huge dining/bar day, that they should have prepared full staffing for. And, why are others being served paid and gone...? Not happy at all.
