We had a birthday to celebrate so we decided to go to Chef's Table. It can be a little busy but we were able to find a spot at the bar. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We love their cocktails and food. We ordered some drinks and the Bread board, Scallops and the Reuben egg rolls. For dessert we decided on the Bacon Fat Brownie. The best dessert ever! Brought my mother here for her birthday based on the Yelp reviews. We came early around 4:30, and there were already people waiting. She's elderly and uses a walker, and the staff was extremely kind and considerate to bring a chair for her to sit in while we waited for a table. There's a casual sports bar vibe that threw me off initially, but I trusted the process. We were seated quickly on the other side of the restaurant, with a view of the open kitchen. Our friendly server recommended the fried chicken as a must-have signature menu item, so we ordered two plates and a Caesar salad. We were both overjoyed with our entrees--chicken was moist with a beautiful, crunchy crust and the most delicious gravy and sweet grilled carrots. We finished up with a s'mores bread pudding that is one of the most craveable desserts I've ever tasted. Moist, caramel-y and luscious! And the server led our neighboring tables in singing Happy Birthday to my mama, which made the night really fun for her. Can't WAIT to come back! It's a new favorite--everything I hoped for and more. Service was outstanding, everything tasted great, biggest issue was my sons burger....he ordered it medium well, it still had pink inside....well we get home and an hour or so later his stomach hurts. Then throws up the burger, had more pains for a bit, woke up fine no other symptoms just the solo throw up which leads me to understand it was the brisket ground beef combo. Typically brisket must be cooked to well done as it's a tougher meat which requires longer cooking time. I work in the food service industry so I do know proper food safety and handling, using food right away and cooking to proper temp is crucial. read more

The dining area ain't fancy. The servers are nice, thorough, friendly but not polished. The prices are fair. The food is REALLY GOOD. Bold flavors, expert preparation, pretty on the plate and generous portions. Bambie had the 1/2 chicken fried southern style. Crispy ouside, soft and moist inside. Side of mash potatoes, side of perfectly sauteed carrot slices. I had a cesar salad. Fresh, crisp, again a big portion. The dressing was a perfect balance of creamy, piquant and a tad peppery. The croutons were crisp and flavorful. Best Ceasar salad that I've had in years. My main dish was the pork carnitas tacos. Topped with heaping mounds of shredded cabbage. Creamy sauce on the cabbage. A side of mild-ish chipotle salsa served on the side to pour on the carnitas. The tacos were so big that they were almost too unwieldly to hold. But I persevered and gobbled them like there is no tomorrow. Satisfying. A big hungry guy will be perfectly happy after polishing off the plate. Wine selection is small but has the usual good suspects in the reasonable price range. Mostly California wines. I live 2 miles from this place. Tonight was my first visit. This place feels more like a bar than an upscale restaurant. The food may look elevated, but the quality of the steak was pretty mediocre. They were busy, so I placed my order as soon as possible and ordered only one dish. Even so, it took about 35 minutes to arrive, and unfortunately, it wasn't worth the wait. There was no bread, soup, or anything else offered while I waited or served alongside the meal, so I was starving by the time it arrived. The $48 filet mignon didn't taste particularly fresh or high-quality, and the broccolini was so charred that it had an unpleasant, almost cigarette-like flavor. The potatoes and mushrooms were the only enjoyable parts of the dish. I was still hungry, but I couldn't bring myself to finish the meal. I ended up going to Texas Roadhouse afterward, which was much better. For a $48 steak, the experience was extremely disappointing. read more

Went at 6 ish on a Saturday and knew we'd have a wait. They told us 45 minutes to an hour and sent us a confirmation text that allowed us to track our progress on the list. We ordered drinks, sat and had conversation while we waited. It was warm and cozy inside and the weather outside really was frightful so we weren't looking to leave. I recently selected this restaurant as a random pick from Google Maps, curious to see if it would pass muster. Upon entering, the initial impressions were a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the establishment is notably clean, and the staff greets you with good service right from the start. However, the physical environment leaves something to be desired. A closer look around the dining room reveals that some of the furniture is actively showing its wear and tear, detracting from the overall ambiance. Compounding this issue is the volume level; the music is kept on the louder side, meaning your conversations may be frequently interrupted due to the competing noise of the sound system and fellow diners. The true test of any restaurant, however, lies in the kitchen, and today I opted for the Korean-style braised beef short ribs. Unfortunately, the execution on this centerpiece dish fell entirely short. The meat itself was significantly tougher than what you expect from typical, slow-braised short ribs, lacking that signature tender texture. To make matters worse, the flavor profile was incredibly bland, missing the deep, savory, and sweet seasonings essential to this classic dish. Instead of robust flavor, the plate was overloaded with an excessive mountain of microgreens. I am certainly not here for rabbit food, and the heavy-handed garnish could not mask the lack of proper seasoning underneath. Hoping to salvage the meal, I added their banana brûlée dessert to my order. This sweet addition partially made up for the short rib faux pas. It was remarkably tasty and fresh, offering a beautifully executed finish that proved the kitchen is absolutely capable of better work when they put their minds to it. The bottom line is that while the service is attentive, the space is clean, and the dessert was a genuine highlight, you ultimately go to a restaurant for a cohesive dining experience. Based upon today's experience, the kitchen's execution on the mains simply wasn't there, and the loud atmosphere makes it hard to relax. Perhaps there are better dishes hiding on the menu as evidenced by the stellar dessert but I still cannot fully recommend visiting this establishment based on the flaws of the primary meal. read more

Solid 4.5 stars -- locally popular smaller-sized restaurant/bar with date-night-esque comfort food but a uniquely casual and homey feel from all the staff! No reservations, so be prepared to wait in peak hours, either by putting your name down and coming back, or grabbing a drink and watching some sports on their large TVs. Came in strolling in as comfortable and casual as we normally do and fit right in. I found this spot on my phone when traversing around the holiday madness at the Roseville Galleria, loved all the things the prev menus had to offer. Fiance and I got here around 7pm on a Saturday night and it was super packed inside with people with drinks waiting to be seated! Franklin, the Spirits Master took our names down. He told us it would be a 45min-1hr wait ... to which we strongly considered going elsewhere. But he actually persuaded us to stay (hung out at the boba spot across the st) by saying the food was worth it--honestly (spoiler alert) it quite was. Got seated a little past an hour at a prime bar seat in front of the chefs cooking and Franklin attentively got us pesto fries on the house and our drinks right away for braving out the wait. All the staff around continually checked in on us and stopped to chat (but not in an annoying way), which is how I know some of their names! Multiple beers on tap and lots of interesting cocktails. Menu --- According to Brahm, changes quite frequently ~1-3mo depending on seasonality and vibe though the structure of types of proteins/starches offered stay similar (e.g. one fish dish, one pasta/starch, etc). Some signature items stay on permanently, which we were recommended for our first time: - Pesto Fries ($10, on the house for the wait): Really crispy thin-cut french fries covered in a soft confetti of swiss cheese and light pesto--really good esp if you are looking for something to hold you over before the main meal. It's like the best features of garlic fries at the ballpark but crispier and pesto. - Beef Short Rib ($20 side, added to Ricotta Gnocchi pasta at $36): Super rich and filling! Tender and flavorful fatty short rib with pillowy gnocchi covered in a cream sauce, side of mushrooms and diced zucchini. I finished it ALL. - Southern Mary's Fried Chicken ($28): A staple that never gets taken off the menu, brined in a 2-3d process and smothered in bacon white gravy, served with perfectly cooked carrots as well as mashed potatoes. My fiance really loved this one Drinks: - Hawaiian Mule ($16): I really liked this one esp because im a big fan of mules--this one was more refreshing and sweeter with pineapple juice and mint! - Apple Whiskey Smash: My fiance got this seasonal one on the board--tastes like a yummy apple cider cocktail ... he really likes his apple juice. Overall we really enjoyed our experience here if you are prepared for the wait. Both of us loved all the upscale comfort food and cocktails on the menu; it's rare to get such homey and attentive service from restaurants from all the staff. I tried their Farmers Light Beer, my wife had the Hawaiian Mule cocktail which she mentioned was refreshing. For our entrees, I had the Braised beef short rib Argentinian style. So tender and flavorful, dressed with a really good chimichurri sauce. The green beans and sweet polenta were also a perfect pairing. My wife had the Alaskan Halibut which she mentioned was flaky, pan seared accompanied by a cauliflower puree. We were satisfied with the meal portions.
