The whole idea of Tap Houses really does appeal to me. I love being able to just grab a glass and seeing all the beers on the wall and picking what I want and how much I want. The people who run Waymaker Brewing in Roseville are doing this at the highest level. I've been to this location a few times for different events and every time a wonderful time was had. So as far as the beers go they have around 40 different beers on tap and also they have 10 wines on tap as well. So exactly how it works is this- When you walk in you give them a credit/debit card-then they give you a wristband-next you grab a glass and go pick your beer or wine and you get charged by the ounce you actually pour rather than by the glass size. Then at the end of the visit, you turn in your wristbands and you get charged whatever it is you poured in total for the visit-I love the entire concept. It's a great way to be able to try many types of beer instead of just a few big beers. Now let's talk about the elephant in the room for Waymaker. The thing that makes this place unique is they have 6 golf simulators a person can rent depending on day and time anywhere from $35-$60 an hour and up to 6 people can play on the simulator at one time. On these simulators there are more than 200 virtual courses available. It's a crazy amount of fun for golfers of all skill levels There is also a hand roll sushi bar inside called Fire Fish where one can order sushi-hand rolls-flatbreads or various small plates. It really is an amazing place. They also have a massive big screen in the back that is furnished with comfortable couches and chairs in case one wants to just hangout and watch whatever live sporting event is happening that visit. Let's see my last few visits I've gone with my son and we played a round of golf at Pebble Beach on the simulator. I've gone to a birthday party for my boss and we had 2 simulators rented and we ate sushi rolls and flatbread while drinking a lot of beer. I've gone to do after work drinks with a friend while watching NBA playoff basketball. Visits to Waymaker can be so many things but I can say for sure every visit will be fun. So if you find yourself out in Roseville and want to try something a little different-head on out to Waymaker Brewing, it really is a great time. PS. We stopped in to this self pour taproom with golf simulators since they also serve sushi. The sushi selections were very tasty and fresh! Great quality of fish and love the preparations. It's a bit pricey tho but definitely great quality. If not in the mood for sushi there is also pizza. The next day we came for the golf simulators. It was a lot of fun playing courses digitally that you can only dream of playing in person. For two of us it took about 1 hr 45 min to play 18 holes at Pebble Beach. $50/hr on a Monday evening. We have been to Waymaker about 10 times now, but our recent visit today on a Friday evening was by far our best experience here, thanks to Caden (hopefully I spelled his name right). Caden greeted us with great hospitality, made sure we were settled in before we golfed, and continued to check on us and help us. I would definitely want to continue coming to Waymaker as long as he is there - our other experiences were not nearly as good without him. Previously, others would not be quick to greet us (we waited nearly 15 minutes once just to get checked in due to the front desk person on their phone at the bar, not even knowing they were a worker). Golf simulator was fun, with plenty of options, such as range, courses, and games. Plenty of selections for drinks as well, including beer, wine, and mixed drinks. We love the sushi and other food options as well. They occasionally have live music and play various sporting events, which helps with them being kid friendly (we bring our 2 year old). My favorite place!! I look forward to my Monday mornings solely because I get to spend an hour or two here. I come here at least once a week sometimes more if I need extra Joni jokes/laughs . It's such a fun environment, Kid friendly-so a great family activity as well. I'm not a beer drinking but they have seltzers and other drinks as well so I can still enjoy the high tech draft system! The staff is also sooooo friendly and welcoming. I always go when Joni is on shift because she is freaking amazing. Joni is the reason I became a member! The experience alone is a 10/10 but staff puts it over. The food has never let me down and I've tried just about everything. Pricing is very reasonable. The guy (not the owner) at the host stand (open toe slippers) should read up on hospitality 101 and brush up on Serve Safe. Hilarious! The only saving grace was the Fire Fish Kitchen. Hamachi crudo topped with black tobiko, rice crackers, chile paste in truffle oil was the best! Sushi chef knows what he is doing! Beverage selection: solid $170+ for two people should of matched the environment and welcoming attitude (except for the food department). I was surprised when I walked in to find a place that at first looked like an amusement park, far from it. Sure there is golf simulators and TV's all over the place, but also surprisingly fun! I loved the tap system that allows you to taste, than decide if you want more. Mainly beers but also wines, cocktails, ciders, and hard ciders but you can taste or drink whatever you want. We also sat at the sushi bar and tried out their dishes. The edamame were seasoned very nicely, Hamachi carpaccio was amazing, sashimi very flavorful, and the rolls very fresh and tasty. They use these fried Japanese rice, that look smaller than whole peppers all over everything and they make everything crunchy. Great experience! Fun place to get some swings in without actually going to a course. The beer and wine is on a bracelet system, allowing you to pour as much or as little as you want. And they have good beers and wines on tap. But really why I wanted to write the review was about the sushi. I was definitely leery of eating sushi at a golf place. I talked with the guy at the front and he told me it was fantastic and that the head sushi chef was from a sushi restaurant down the street. I was skeptical when i found the place only serves sushi which i expected burgers and other finger foods. We got edamame and a blue fin roll and also to my surprise it was really good. The golf sims were booked all day so i didn't get to try that but it looks like a good time. The atmosphere was nice, music was a tad loud but a good time and covered the smack of golf balls. Ok this place is awesome! I'm a bit biased, of course, as I like golf. And craft beer. And sushi haha. All 3 in one place tho ?! The beer selection is actually really great! Good variety of styles and breweries (not the typical stuff you can get everywhere else) and the self-pour at your own pace format allows you to try a bunch of great brews without drinking too much. The simulators are legit, tons of different play styles and courses to play "at." Only complaint is that my brother beat me at 9 holes today The food menu is pretty fun and interesting, and the sushi is actually pretty legit! The first time I visited it was for a large party, and the chefs put together some amaaaaazing sushi and sashimi boats that were off the chain. We hosted a company event at Waymaker Brewing this past weekend, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We had the entire place to ourselves for about 70 people for 3 hours. There was plenty of room to walk around, mingle without feeling like in the way, and we had several bays for our employees to play golf on the simulators. The food was amazing, worked with Chef Hunt on what our company would like. We had three sushi boats, two different kinds of chicken teriyaki and cucumber salads. No complaints, everything was delicious. The staff was incredibly attentive/helpful with the self-pour beer taps and kept the space tidy. Everyone was given a bracelet to get their own drinks, which made everything run super smooth. Highly recommend Waymaker Brewing for company parties or large group events. A friend and I went on Thursday morning at 11am. We met the owner, who was very friendly and giving us the Waymaker 101. I watched this place being built since it's my jog/dog route and was happy to see it open. I felt the food was great as we had sushi and pizza, weird I know, but we wanted to try a bit of everything. Tried a few different beers on tap and we played about 2-hours of golf. Everything was great and I will return with some other friends for sure. My suggestion was to have some fans in the simulators since it does get warm quickly especially when you're having beers and playing. Great ambiance, and helpful staff combined with a large selection of self pour taps. 2 things of note, they are not the self pour you may be used to, with these you tap and choose your quantity of beverage you want dispensed. The upside is, that you can still stop it when you want and are only charged for the amount you actually poured. If I had any complaints, it would be that a good number of taps were out. The only reason I could not give five stars is because the simulator we were using was extremely "off" and they said it may need to be calibrated again, unfortunately we had to play with it being very inaccurate which was such a bummer especially after paying so much!
