As a kid my father was a PBA bowler and we would travel up and down the west coast hitting up all the bowling alleys along the way-so since I was a kid who had little interest in bowling,I spent a crazy amount of time in the arcades at these bowling alleys.So began the lifelong love affair with pinball machines. You can imagine my happiness when I stumbled upon this bar/gaming room with the funny German sounding name when I realized it was a glorified pinball arcade room that also served beer. This place is straight amazing-50+ of the greatest pinball machines are available to play.They do use the "game-card" system to pay for these games,which can make playing these games way too easy-games tend to cost about $1 a game in game credits to play,which is far more than I paid when I was an 8 year old kid but then again,that was 45 years ago. They have a pretty solid beer selection-beers tend to go for anywhere between $7-$8 a beer-not too bad in my opinion.Though they do offer a pretty unique item called "Das Boot" which is a pretty large boot that cost $40 and comes with a fill up at time of purchase and 20% off on future fill ups-though not sure what the original cost of a fill up is exactly. One massive upgrade I've learned in the pinball world is nowadays you can download an app by Stern Inc,the majority manufacturer of most of the popular pinball machines and you can register your pinball play and it will keep tabs of everywhere u play and all the scores u achieved on the various pinball machines-I really enjoyed this feature-I only wish they had this when I was in my prime of pinball play when I was a youth. This place doesn't have the best hours but I'm sure there is a reason for these hours-M-F the hours are 5p-10p and on weekends they open at 12p... In closing-If you ever find yourself in the Rocklin area and you get a yearning to try out your pinball machine skills-I couldn't recommend this spot any higher as they are a very unique spot offering a truly awesome experience-a trip down memory lane for some and a whole new world for the younger generation-You should get out there and have some fun. PS-I failed to mention this place is very family friendly-on my particular visit the place was flooded with kids from elementary to high school age honing their pinball machine skills and enjoying every minute of it. read more

This spot is such a gem. The primary focus of the space is playing pinball (30+ games), and when it comes to pinball, they are the gold-standard. Games are very clean and in excellent playing condition. There's also Stern leaderboards visible along with their own leaderboards for solid state (older) games, which I've never seen anywhere else. The whole space is clean and welcoming. It's loud, but that's because it's a pinball spot. The staff are super friendly and provide great service. The mac n' cheese bites I had last week were freshly prepared (from scratch), cooked to order, piping hot, and totally delicious--and also under $10. The beers and ciders on tap are all mostly from small, local makers and under $10/pint. They also have plenty of NA drink options. If you're a pinball person, I dare you to find a more accommodating spot for playing and vibing out. If you're not a pinball person, this is a great place to fall in love with the game. read more

As a pinball spot, it's really the best around. Great atmosphere and soooo many awesome pins. Workers keep up with the maintenance and are very knowledgable. Lots of good beer selection as well! My only gripe is that the food they have is all low-quality freezer food and pretty overpriced for what it is, so I'd recommend eating somewhere else before showing up to play! read more

Great amount of machines, mostly newer, that are in good condition. The lighting on some of the machines can pretty dark though which makes it difficult to see what's happening ie: Addams Family, Funhouse Remake, and Cactus Canyon. The credit conversion is 4 credits = $1 and most games are 5 credits ($1.25) and the newer games can be up to 8 credits ($2) which is pretty expensive to play for pinball. I've never tried any of the food or drinks. read more

When this place opened, it was just the one room, but they have expanded into the space next door so they have more machines to play, which is great! The machines all work, none are broken and out of order. Average Joe off the street won't know any better, but there are a few things to be mindful of if you REALLY know pinball machines. We used to have pinball machines in our house that were DIALED. My husband took great care of them & was always kitting them out with new lights & was soldering wires & adjusting items on the tables so everything worked smoothly & perfectly. The machines at Flipperhaus don't receive that same level of care. Some of them could use TLC & tweaking. They work just fine, but when you really know pinball machines & how they should be, and you get spoiled to that, it feels like going from a Cadillac to a Camry. This would not be such a big deal if some of them didn't cost $2 to play. The food here is dreadful. We ordered nachos and pizza expecting NACHOS and PIZZA. We got roller rink chips & cheez and a pizza that tasted like the pizza you get with an Easy Bake Oven. Well tried to eat most of it, but in the end, decided not to torture ourselves & just threw it away. They offer beer on tap, sodas, and water. Overall, this is a good place to spend an afternoon. I have never been to a better pinball arcade. The set up, the service, and the atmosphere were spot on! There must have been a couple dozen different pinball games to choose from. They also have snacks and drinks to keep you happy while playing too. I also love the high score leaderboard that they have on the wall. Come try and beat my score! Nearly hidden at the back right side of a large strip mall, Das Flipperhaus offers Pinball Machines, Sodas, Eight Beers on Tap, Pretzels and some other snacks. The change machine spits out tokens. Each token has a $1 value. Each pinball machine costs one token to play. The machines that I played were all in excellent condition. Each had a drink holder mounted on the right side. The rank of Sterns all had the QR Code reader to track your scores. There isn't a lot of room to stand and chat. Better if you sit. The only other "arcade" game was a "Beer Pong Arcade Machine". If you're a spastic player that likes to kick your legs around while you play, you'll end up kicking someone. If you're a serious pinball player who enjoys a decent variety of working moderns, you'll enjoy yourself here. While the $1 per games isn't bargain basement pricing, the condition of the games justifies the costs. If I lived in the area, you'd find me here frequently! read more

There's a couple dozen pinball machines, a huge Pac-Man game, air hockey and I'm not sure what else besides food and drinks, which we did not have. We all had a great time - the machines were in great condition and there was also a nice selection of beer (they have snacks too). Atmosphere was nice. First time here last Friday evening and it was fun for us. It was a last minute date night and up for checking out a new place. There were 20 or so pinball machines... very close together -- not my cup of tea at all. I felt like I was bothering people having to squeeze by anytime I needed to use the bathroom, order a beer, or move on to another game. Each game was one token ($1). So if you don't know how to play pinball, like me, $10 goes a bit fast. I really liked their beer list. It was also small, but it had beers that I'm not familiar with. Das Flipperhaus is fairly new to Rocklin. The location is good, it has easy access to the hwy 80 and downtown Rocklin. We had a work shift gathering here, everyone was very pleased. There were pinballs we haven't seen in years and they're only $1 a game. The beers were reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend and return. read more

If you're looking for a fun way to kill some time or play some amazing games this is the place! The game selection is awesome, I love the new and old games that are in here. The Godzilla one was my favorite overall! The service is amazing quick and super polite, we ordered, chicken bites, mozzarella sticks, and a pretzel. The tender/bites were so good!! The mozzarella sticks were good, and the pretzel was so warm and buttery with the perfect amount of salt! The food option is slim but it makes sense for just a "quick bite to eat." Before walking into this place, I thought it was going to be bigger, I don't mind small places and I'm not triggered by them but, this place is pretty small. Basically touching arms with people. The table to eat and chill is the only place you basically can be without feeling in the way, even then people bump into you, I wouldn't call this a "complaint" just a warning for people who don't do good in very busy/crowded environment.
