Amazing place! The kombucha, hard seltzer, and probiotic soda are delicious. Also the patio is spacious and kiddo friendly. Kind staff! 10/10 recommend. Can't wait to come back and try the food!

Such a cool chill place with such good beer, Kambucha and cider. Lauren is cool as heck.

Notorious D.O.G. hot dog with sauerkraut and grainy mustard and the hazy IPA - The image shows a hot dog topped with sauerkraut and grainy mustard placed on a wooden tray from Mindscape Fermentations, accompanied by potato chips and a small cup of berries. A tall glass of hazy IPA beer with the Mindscape logo is also on the table. The setting is outdoors with other tables and people visible in the background, indicating a patio dining area.

Great drinks (had the hazy and white sangria), yummy Notorious D.O.G. hot dog, and friendly service!

Albie awareness Brest cancer brewfest! - The image features a graphic illustration of a Venus flytrap plant with neon green leaves and pink traps, depicted with detailed line work. The plant is centered within a geometric shape, and the illustration includes swirling tendrils and roots extending downward. The design is on a black background, with the words 'Fermations' and 'Fermations' visible below the plant, suggesting a branding or logo for a fermentation-related business or event.

The best appetizer in the Greater Sacramento Area! The "Fluff" will leave you wanting more and wanting to kiss the creative genius who created this masterpiece! Then you have to try every seltzer #latenightshenanigans and take in the wonderful ambience. Highly recommended!

The image shows a cafe or bar interior with multiple patrons seated at tables and the bar. Some customers are engaged in a card game on a table, with cards and game boxes visible. The space features an industrial ceiling with exposed ductwork, hanging lights, and artwork on the walls. The bar area has a menu and potted plants, and patrons are using their phones or chatting. The environment appears lively and social.

We always come here when we're visiting from out of town and wish there was a similar concept place near us. It has a great variety that makes it a great choice for a crowd. Everyone will have an option to choose even NA. Food is also good but they do allow you to bring in your own which is nice. Highly recommend checking this place out! The green zone dip is my favorite paired with whatever new seltzer or beer they have.

    This is THE spot!

Fruity seltzers? Check. Kombuchas? Check. IPAs, Blondes, Stouts? Check. Check. Check. ADD IN food that will satisfy your hunger but also make you feel fancy! Umm, yes please! All the drink and food options are 10/10 and the vibe is comfortable and clean. Def making this my weekly spot!

Two women are seated at a table in a brewery or bar, smiling at the camera. The woman on the right has blonde hair and is holding the camera, while the woman on the left has dark hair and is wearing a graphic T-shirt. There are glasses of beer and other beverages on the table. The background features a high ceiling with exposed wooden beams, ductwork, and hanging light fixtures, indicating a modern, industrial-style interior.

So fortunate to have Mindscape Fermentations as a local spot. As someone involved in the beer community, this is where I bring visitors to experience truly thoughtful fermentations. Their seltzers are done with real quality, their beer releases are solid, and they often feature great guest taps as well. The space is welcoming, comfortable, and family-friendly, with some games, seating options, and a few food items to round it out. A place with heart, intention, and excellent drinks...always a win.

Panini sandwich with brie cheese - A toasted sandwich with grill marks, cut into halves, is placed on a wooden serving board. It is accompanied by a pile of ridged potato chips and two small metal cups containing dips or condiments. A canned beverage with a colorful label is positioned behind the food, on a white countertop with a receipt and a black mat nearby.

Always a good go to place for seasonal rotating drinks! Love coming in and trying their kombucha and sour beers, they're always very accommodating and let you try all the drinks before deciding on one. There is even a choice to do a flight! Their Panini sandwich and chips were good! Just the right amount of food balanced with a drink. We LOVED the Chilean-style chimichurri, just be aware it has a kick! This time around, we sat at the bar and the owner Lauren was super nice and attentive! Love how transparent she is with her business and all the new ideas they plan to bring to their business in the near future. They do all kinds of events throughout the week, including trivia nights, and live music. They keep small signs showing dates of events to keep you updated if you want to enjoy extra entertainment or know when to come when it's a bit more lowkey. Outdoor seating is an added plus!

Sweet Heat Panini, Probiotic Soda, Chips & Dip

I don't drink alcohol but I love this place's probiotic soda and vinegar drinks. We tried the food for the first time today and it was better than we were expecting. Paninis, chip and dip, and hummus platter, along with a pitcher of probiotic soda. Kids and adults enjoyed it all! Not a fan of the tarot cards though, and would prefer it were not a part of the scene. Love that there are games (like chess) available to play.

Something for everyone, love their hard kombucha and seltzers. The onion dip is awesome and the spicy hummus. Board games available for the kids and an outside area on nice days. Would definitely recommend!

Ask the Community - Mindscape Fermentations

Is this a family friendly place, or a leave the kiddos at home kind of place?

There are always kids when we go and we always take our baby

    Are well-behaved dogs allowed inside?

What I heard the other night, indoors no with the food service. But they have a nice shaded outdoor patio that would accommodate you.

We were seated in the patio in the shade, so it wasn't too insufferably hot on this very sunny, warm day. Jägerschnitzel is my go-to at German restaurants and the one at Kathrin's is one of the best I've had to date. My plate was generous and the jägerschnitzel was tender, the spätzle was too, and the mushroom gravy that topped the jägerschnitzel was just so good. I cleaned my plate. I also got one of their small pretzels to start the meal and loved how soft and chewy it was, and the mustard had a good punch of spice. I thought it was cool that their pretzels are sourced from a local Bavarian factory. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the dressing on the green salad that comes with the jägerschnitzel. I'm really not sure what it was and can't say I've had anything else that tastes like it before, but it was strong and I was good after just a few bites. However, that wasn't enough to ruin the meal for me with as good as that jägerschnitzel was. While I was only here because I was visiting family who live in the area and recommended this place, I'd be happy to return if my family wanted to come back on a future visit.

We found that they served the dinner menu all day and there was no lunch menu. We ended up ordering the Oktoberfest platter, which it was made up of five sausages, schnitzel, red cabbage, sauerkraut and french fries. 4 of the 5 sausages were extremely dry and over cooked. Schnitzel was dry and flavorless. It seemed as if they had heated everything up in a microwave. Overly hot and very dry. Happy hour started at 3PM and we arrived at 2:45. That would have given us a discount on food and beer. But we figured oh well, our bad for not realizing. We commented on it to the bartender / server, like "oh darn" and he didn't really react. It was not like we expected to get the happy hour prices, we were just commenting. Then, unfortunately, we overheard him talking to two men at the bar, saying "I waited until 3PM to ring up your beers because I wanted to give you happy hour price." Yikes! Why not us? (Only us and these two gents inside at the time. There was a handful of people at outside tables.) We are disappointed because we had enjoyed them before and they are the closest restaurant to us serving German food. The food and the service that day are not very motivating to return.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The service was fantastic--super friendly, easygoing, and exactly what you hope for when you're settling in to enjoy a drink and unwind. Lots of areas there are to sit. Whether you want to be inside, out on the patio, or tucked into one of the many outdoor spaces, there's plenty of room to spread out. It's the kind of place where everyone feels comfortable. Families were out enjoying time together, kids running around having fun, and it was great to see so many people bringing their dogs along. We had our dog with us, which made the visit even better--any place that welcomes four-legged friends gets extra points. We tried a beer and a mead, and both were very good--refreshing and full of flavor. We also ordered a pizza, and despite the brewery being quite busy, it came out surprisingly quickly. Even better, it was delicious: hot, flavorful, and exactly what you want alongside a good drink. What really stood out was the overall vibe. It's lively without feeling crowded, relaxed but energetic, and the kind of place where you can easily spend an afternoon or evening. Dueling Dogs Brewing is definitely worth the visit. This was such a cool find!…read more We came to town for a family members birthday party and wanted to stop by a brewery for lunch and check out the area. The place was way bigger than what I was expecting! The parking lot is huge, and it was packed! You order your beverage and food at the bar and they pour you your drinks and give you a pager for the food. I was impressed to see the food was coming out of a food truck for how large the venue is. I was drinking the Mexican lager, served with salt and lime. I thought it was super tasty, I liked it a lot. My husband was drinking the hazy ipa which had a pretty high percentage, I believe like a 7.5%! It was surprisingly easy to drink and fruity. Food we ordered the BLT and it was served with house made pickles and potato salad. The potato salad had cheddar cheese inside it, I like that twist. I ordered the pizza pretzel and at first thought $18.50 is pretty steep pricing for a pretzel but let me tell you, the pictures do not do the size justice. It is literally the size of a pizza! So big, covered in mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. Came with plenty of dipping sauce too. I loved it, it was so fresh and delicious, and perfect to share! I had more than half leftover to take home! Check this spot out it was pretty rad, they had live music and the vibes were great! We could've hung out here all day perfectly content.

Here's the hard truth, Hillenbrand has really good food and good beer. However, they are chasing away families left and right. Kids are not really welcome at all. The signs posted make it evident. The best seating area is marked with 21 and over on each and every table. I get it. Sometimes it's nice to have an adult only night out. However breweries in the area should decide who they want their customers to be. On a Thursday evening, it should really not be an issue for a family to have a nice night out. The highlight of our night for me was drinking beer out of a plastic cup. For the second round we asked for glassware, but were told we had to buy the glasses to have glassware. When we turned that down, we got a sales pitch for the monthly stein program. Sorry! For the monthly amount they want I'm pretty sure the winery around the corner has a better deal. We also asked if we could bring in our Hillenbrand glasses that we already have the next time to use and the girls behind the bar had no answer. The best part was when the bartender handed over the plastic beer cups and said enjoy your plastic. So the question is, next time we go out on a Thursday night to enjoy a beer and food is it going to be Hillenbrand or the 3 other breweries in the area. Also the girls behind the bar gratefully filled us in to the fact that Hillenbrand is not a brewery but in fact a bar. Too bad Ron wasn't there tonight. PS our two children were very well behaved and stayed by us the entire time we were there.
