Fantastic Food, Beautiful Atmosphere & Outstanding Service! Another fantastic meal at Bennett's! Our group ordered two burgers, and both were cooked to perfection. One came with the side salad and vinaigrette, while the other came with fries. We also ordered two French Dip sandwiches, which were equally delicious. The meat was incredibly moist, tender, and perfectly prepared. And the fries deserve a mention of their own--plump and crispy at the same time, exactly the way fries should be! The ambiance at Bennett's is always fantastic. It's a beautiful restaurant with a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal. But what really made our visit special was our waitress, Stevie. She was simply fantastic! She checked in on us regularly, kept everything moving, and showed a great deal of patience working with this group of happy-hour seniors! We certainly gave her plenty to keep track of, and she handled it all with a smile. We will definitely be back. Bennett's consistently delivers a great meal in a beautiful setting, but what really stands out is the effort they put into customer service. Food and beer were great! Had the happy hour burger and ribs; helles lager was a solid choice. Service was poor :( sat at the bar, bartender spent the next 5-10 minutes talking with another colleague before greeting me. Bar didn't seem exceptionally busy, just tender seemed distracted. Glad I didn't order a water; the next bartender (Curly haired brunette) that arrived filled a guests water from the hand sink behind the bar. I get that tap water is just tap water, but come on. I had the Mia Salad yesterday while having a late lunch (2pm) with friends. Not that hungry and not wanting anything really hearty or heavy a salad seemed like a good choice. It was! I haven't tried this particular salad at Bennett's before and I was pleased. It's a very large portion, you easily could take some home. It was flavorful packed full of fresh greens, shredded grilled chicken, small chunks of avacado, corn and a mix of other delicious ingredients, and tossed in a light dressing. It came slightly warmed which was very enjoyable. I washed it down with an Arnold Palmer. Very refreshing. Sitting out on the patio was very pleasant as it wasn't too hot outside, and the space is air conditioned in any case. Bennett's service is always friendly and very accommodating and this particular time maintained that special quality. Been to Bennetts before but had never tried out the Rocklin location. We had reservations for dinner and were brought in and seated early with no wait, which was really nice and set a great tone for the evening. Our server Zack, did a great job throughout the entire experience. He was attentive without being overbearing, made sure everything came out in a timely manner, and checked in just enough to keep things running smoothly. The service felt dialed in and professional. The food, service, and atmosphere were all consistent with what you'd expect from Bennetts, and this location made for an easy, enjoyable dinner. We were wanting to try something new for Mother's Day brunch and Bennett's was our first choice. I made reservations online about a month in advance, knowing it would be a popular dining day. And boy was I right it was hopping the whole time we were there for brunch starting at 11 AM. It's a lovely dining room but quite dimly lit for a morning meal, but it was fine. There is a nice variety of breakfast and lunch options on the breakfast menu.. and while there was a special Mother's Day brunch offering none in our party chose those options. The shared crab deviled eggs are a must We all enjoyed our selected dishes. Such generous portions we brought a lot home to enjoy later in the day he he. We came here as a party of 7. We waited about 5 minutes for a table (not bad for a Saturday at dinner time) our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the Brik Chicken that came with mashed potatoes. (I do wish it came with a salad or veggie) My husband got the Steak Frites he said they were very flavorful and prepared well. My son and Neice had children's Salmon and they enjoyed it. They had quite a few beer, wine and cocktail options. A few desserts to choose from too, like Key lime pie. I came here with a group for a friend's bday for dinner. We ordered the black berry margaritas which were delicious I was very tempted to have another. For an appetizer we shared the Trio of dips that comes with chips. The salsa was sooo good and I was pleasantly surprised that it was better than many restaurants that are more known for serving salsa as an appetizer. The cheese or pimiento cheese was yummy too. I didn't try the guacamole but everyone loved this appetizer and we needed more chips. For my entree I ordered the prawn linguine and omg it was delicious. The shrimp were cooked just right and not overcooked. The bread that came with it was great too. A friend ordered the mah grilled fish tacos and wasn't too keen on them. If I could give Bennett's 4.5 stars, I would. Just a minor hiccup with someone else's food being served to our table (we ordered the exact same entrees), but other than that, this place is 5 stars across the board. I'm glad I made an earlier reservation for our 5:30 dinner seating because it was packed. Quite a few walk-ins were told the wait was at least an hour. We sat at a high top booth, which was perfect for the two of us. Wouldn't recommend for a party larger than that since the table is not too big. Their happy hour was still going until 6pm so we made sure to order our drinks and appetizer quickly. Within minutes, our entrees were served which confused us because we hadn't received our drinks and app yet. Coincidentally another couple across from us order the exact same entrées. The staff made the correction very fast. Of all the items on the menu, I was actually most impressed by the house made potato chips that went with the French onion dip. They were well seasoned, fried perfectly and even held their crispiness the next day (we had some left over). The prime rib with mashed potatoes was delicious and also cooked well. I enjoyed the prawn linguine dish which had six pieces of nice sized prawns. Overall, the ambience, service, food and value are well worth it. The entrance to the place is a bit strange and not a clearly marked. The wife and I did the 2 course for $30 which is a pretty good deal. The salad, soup, and chicken enchiladas were good. We visited Bennett's for lunch and had a lovely, low-key night. The space is an easygoing sports‑bar vibe with warm stone accents and big windows -- comfy for casual dates or catching the game. Our server was friendly and attentive; she forgot an extra dressing briefly but came right back with it and surprised us with two cookies, which felt like a nice, personal touch. I ordered the salmon salad and it was delicious -- flaky salmon, fresh beets and radish, and bright dill that made the dish sing. My companion had the Three Mushroom Burger and declared it excellent (he finished every bite and the fries). We stuck with water and the kitchen paced everything well. It's a great value and my Eggs Benedict and wife's Bacon Omelette were top notch. Even better was the incredible service from Melissa and Manager, Candi. They truly reflected that they cared about us and the impression of the restaurant. Candi even showed me how to save 20% on our bill using the In Kind app to pay our bill. My wife said she wanted to go back there again and I was ready to do a u-turn. The steak frite was so delish and tender. Topped it off with a great cocktail and treated ourselves to the lemon Creme brûlée which was creamy and a great light way to end a fabulous meal. Went here with my whole family to have a big dinner as a Christmas present from my parents. Ambience wise the restaurant was beautiful and dark and the bar was really nice. The service was OK. Our server was nice, but she took a long time to come over and take our orders. And the restaurant was not even close to full. Additionally, they sat us right next to the door that leads outside and we had to ask several times for them to leave it closed because it was really cold, and we had the highchair sitting closest to the door, but the staff continued to leave it open when they would walk in and out of it. Food wise for the appetizers we got the trio of dips and that was pretty good 4/5. My mom got the chicken enchilada and I took a bite, it was very dry and lacked flavor 2/5. My brother and I split the grilled mahi tacos and they also lacked a lot of flavor 2/5. We also split the bahn mi and once again it was very dry and just needed more sauce or something to make it stand out 2/5. My husband got the steak and he gave it a 4/5. For dessert we got a carrot cake 3/5, and also the best thing we had of the night was their butter cake 5/5! I wasn't sure if we would go back because it's a little bit out of the way from where we live, but I did see that they have gift cards at Costco for this restaurant and that made me consider maybe giving it another try and seeing if other things on the menu were better. read more

We think that readers will get tired of our ravings about this place, but they are all true! We recently celebrated our friends' 66th wedding anniversary at Bennett's Westside, and they too agreed, that Bennett's has the best service, best food, and best managers. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed, warm and inviting. We shared lots of laughter with the staff, who were most attentive to make sure our orders were correct and prepared as desired. We want to make sure that management knows that Jade, our server, was 'spot on' when it came to our foods; Micha and Candy drifted by often to make sure that all was in order, and Tom (our favorite) made his appearance to 'meet and greet' and add his cordial touch to a wonderful evening - making us feel comfortable. We went for dinner here for an after thanksgiving dinner celebration with some family and it was sooo good I was too busy enjoying the meal over taking any food pictures. Between us all we had the filet, two prime ribs, a halibut, and a cheeseburger. The filet, I was told was super super tender and did not disappoint. The halibut was nice and flaky, not my favorite fish but it was still good. My wife had the burger, which was also super juicy and flavorful- side note her fries were amazing and extra crispy. Lastly the prime rib, I'm not kidding when I say the prime rib was probably one of if not the best prime rib I've ever had. Usually places try to seduce you with some prime rib special, but this is the first time I've ordered a prime rib and actually thought it was worthy the money. Hands down was one of the best dinners I've had in California. 10/10 would 100% recommend getting the prime rib here. read more

The sauce is sweet but weird tasting. The sauce isn't needed. They already drizzle a different sauce on the flautas. 4/5 stars. Calamari Stack - $11 - Happy Hour Menu - The calamari was good, nice and crispy and cooked well. The tarragon aioli is not good. The lemon slaw was fine but totally skippable. 4/5 stars. Prime NY Strip - Market Price by lb - They bring you a cutting board of uncooked steaks, and you pick the one you want. This steak was good. Cooked well, a little funk, and tasty. They serve bread with it, but the bread needed to be crispy, and this one was maybe grilled for 10 seconds. 5/5 stars. Brussel Sprouts - $12 - Pretty good but eats very oily. 4/5 stars. Pound of Fries - $12 - Fries were delicious, but the homemade ranch was thin and gross. Ketchup was the saving grace. 4.5/5 stars. Lasagna Bolognese - $26 - Awful. Don't get this. Everything was bad on this dish. I could only taste the cheese, which was concealed, hard, and it covered up any taste of the meat or pasta. Either they didn't use a good melting cheese, or they overcooked it so long that the cheese turned this way. The meat layer is thin and you can't taste it. The marinara sauce is very sweet and unpleasant. The garlic bread is also bad and a little hard. Seriously, avoid this dish. 0/5 stars. The food is mostly good, but the sauces are bad, and avoid the lasagna. Service was good. Atmosphere is modern and nice. read more

We had a very enjoyable dinner here for my cousin's birthday. We ate here on a weeknight, and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The service was prompt and professional. They have some great options on their menu. It's a lot of variety to choose from! They offer market price steaks, but we all decided to stay on menu as that can get very pricey! We all enjoyed our meals and drinks. They brought my cousin an ice cream sundae with a candle for his birthday. Ribeye Worth Remembering, Bathroom Worth Forgetting Service was warm and attentive-every question we had was answered with a smile. That said, one of our water glasses still had lip stains on it, which immediately raised concerns about attention to detail. The food leaned more toward "acceptable" than impressive. Prices are high, flavors average, and the presentation of some dishes felt careless. My tacos, for example, looked rushed and sloppy-especially at $23 for just two tacos. We also ordered the Ahi poke salad, which was decent and worked well as a starter to share. The portion was fair and the flavors balanced-but be cautious: they tucked in a couple of whole wasabi balls without warning, and one of us bit straight into one. It completely threw off his meal. The steak calamari stood out. The calamari itself was decent but worked much better with the sauce. The fresh slaw it came with added balance. The Brussels sprouts were another solid dish-properly cooked, well-seasoned, and a fair portion. The grilled mahi tacos tasted fine but were overpriced for the small piece of fish, and the plating didn't do the dish any favors. The cedar plank salmon was flavorful with the greens, but it was drowning in bacon grease, and at $40, the portion size was underwhelming. The butter cake was a real highlight-soft, buttery, and rich. After splitting a few bites, we each ended up ordering one for ourselves. The bone-in aged ribeye was the clear star of the meal. Choosing the cut tableside was a nice touch, and the steak itself was tender, flavorful, and worth the price. Even the bread served alongside complemented it perfectly. Where this restaurant fails is cleanliness. The bathroom was filthy and reeked, making it hard to ignore larger questions about the operation's standards. For a place charging premium prices, that level of neglect is unacceptable. In the end, the effort is there, but the execution feels sloppy. A few excellent dishes can't fully make up for poor presentation, inflated prices, and basic cleanliness issues. At this price point, I expect more precision and professionalism. read more

Yesterday, I had dinner at Bennett's in Rocklin with my family. The inside was beautiful. Small, cozy, and felt upscale. I ordered the steak and bacon tacos. They tasted good, no issue with flavor. But it was mostly lettuce and filler. For over $25, it wasn't filling. I understand this is an upscale place, so the pricing didn't surprise me. But the food didn't match the price in quality or amount. We asked for more salsa. Instead, chips kept showing up. Three full rounds. The server said she would come back to clear the table, but she didn't.We started stacking the chip plates in the middle just to see how long they would sit there. Spoiler alert: nobody cleared them. Even small things came out on full-size plates. Napkins were served on a plate. A tiny side of sauce came on its own large plate too. Everything took up space fast. When we asked about all the extra food coming out, the server blamed it on communication barriers. I'm Deaf, but my hearing family was speaking clearly. If something went wrong, it seemed more like confusion with the kitchen or how things were being handled. Her answer felt like she was avoiding the issue. Later, while I was still chewing, she tried to take my plate with food still on it. The stacked plates in the center were still untouched. My companions both ordered the French dip. I tried a bite. It looked better than my tacos, but the beef was a little fatty. I'm posting pictures of the tacos, the French dip, and the start of our stack of plates when we couldn't get them cleared. Being sat at a table for 10 with 11 guests, tolerating a cramped table end for my wife and myself, frigid cold air directed at us from the AC unit, poor service, no offer of a coffee refill, messing up my order, we got the bill. The bill included an 20% tip based on not just the meal, but the tax too! Once we got the bill, there was another opportunity to add a tip to the 20% plus tip already paid! Mica, who claimed to be one of the managers did manage a sympathetic "I'm Sorry." Bennett's claims to respond within 24 hours and depending on where you are in the process, 1 business day to their "valued" customers. They have done neither. It's now Tuesday late afternoon. The messages were sent early afternoon Friday. I've concluded that Bennett's West Side Grill isn't the slightest bit concerned if a long time customer is dissatisfied with their service. Sad to say this is what I've come to expect from this once prized eating establishment. read more

We went for dinner on a Saturday night and although it was crowded we were seated quickly. The staff was nice and attentive. The food was mediocre. The descriptions on the menu made a number of dishes intriguing however when we tasted the food, the seasoning was amiss. We ordered the jumbo prawns, the baked chicken dinner, with brussel sprouts instead of mashed potatoes and the French dip. The prawns were the most flavorful item and they were priced reasonably for the size. The chicken dinner was unseasoned and it looked like it was just barely cooked enough. We didn't eat it all and took the rest to go. By the time I got home I threw the chicken out as it started to smell bad and I was concerned. Although we didn't order the mashed potatoes we got them by mistake and they tasted like they came out of a box. The French dip also needed additional seasoning it was very bland, however the French fried were perfectly crip and delicious. I heard positive things about this place for brunch so I may give that a try, but I will not be back for dinner. read more

I ordered the tortilla soup and the rotisserie chicken inside was so plain and such huge pieces that didn't even bother to cut up. It was unedible. It's not a real tortilla soup it had a beef broth no seasoning at all. I also ordered a salad that had so much salad dressing on it, it was wet. It was barely edible and had the same plain dry rotisserie chicken on top like it was overcooked in a crockpot at Grandma's house. It would be great if the food was as special as the environment. It was a large table and everything was delicious but I'm giving one less star for the chicken Caesar salad. First time last Friday, but I was amazed. Amazing staff and impeccable service. Our server could not have done a better job, very attentive. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The Brussels sprouts were out of this world and I don not like Brussels sprouts. The smoked Salomon was incredible and I have had a lot of smoked Salomon. The dearest are decadent.
