Daniello's is one of my favorite happy hour spots. It's from 4pm to 6pm. I love the ambience of this place. Their bartenders are very friendly and make excellent, strong libations. My favorite cocktail is their Imagination. You get a science experience, show, and a drink. The Imagination is the smoothest old-fashioned I ever drank. I have not had the opportunity to eat here besides nibbling on some fries or some complementary bread they gave us to sober us up, lol. However, my friend did tell me their happy hour burger for only $13.50 was really delicious and a steal for that price. Definitely a fun place to grab a drink.

What a unique concept! To get inside you have to go through a candy store with a "magic key." And what you open the door to will make your jaw drop. Tastefully decorated restaurants with white table cloths, romantic ambiance. What I loved: -Focaccia bread, it was wonderful and buttery. -Strawberry mocktail (they have nonalcoholic drinks here!) was delicious. -Truffle risotto was good; presentation was pretty with micro greens. You have the option of adding protein, but you get very little and you can't specify how you want the added streak to be cooked -I appreciate that they have tasty vegetarian options! -Nonnas salad was tasty, but I wish we were told the peaches listed on the menu were being substituted with nectarines. What I admired: -Hardworking server that has to go up and down a long fight up stairs with heavy dishes of food and still manage to be pleasant. You definitely have to go try this place out!

I was really excited to try this new place for us. The entrance through the candy store was fun. You give them the password then get a key to go in. The restaurant is a bit more moody and dark inside. It had plenty of people at the bar and there is an upstairs seating area where we had dinner. Our waitress was very nice and timely. We had some cocktails that were not to our liking and politely asked to just have a glass of wine instead. That was a better option. Next the shrimp appetizer was burnt and lacking taste. The rest of the meal was also lack luster. Everything is a la carte and on the pricey side. Maybe an off night? Not sure? But again our server was great we just didn't enjoy the food. We had asked for oysters but they ran out after we ordered them. So all in all not terrible but not delicious.

Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Fantastic speakeasy in the heart of downtown Roseville. I only tried the Parmesan fries for food, so I cannot fully rate that aspect. Will and Danika were bartending while I was there. The drinks were fantastic. The team is personable. I will happily return.

I really really really wanted to love this place. I had been wanting to go FOREVER! I love the concept. Cute idea, with a darling little candy store, with a big door that opens, with a silly big key after you give the secret password. It opens to a beautiful bar with a cozy relaxing high-end vibe. That is the concept. BUT in actuality...you walk into disappointing chaos driven candy store. We arrived and there was no organization or mystery. It was crowded and no one seemed to know what was happening. We were told it would be 1 1/2 hour wait (we arrived without reservation as you can ONLY make them for dinner.) We were fine with that as we are super flexible. Headed to the bar across the street to wait. We sit down at the bar and literally 3 minutes later they call us to say they can accommodate our party of 8. Yay! Nope...we arrive back to the bar and we have to sit apart. Five at the bar and three across the restaurant. Whatever...we are flexible. The inside bar does have a great ambiance and has a secret hidden vibe to it BUT they seemed sooooo unorganized and irritated that they were working. Service was basically non-existent for the three in our party that sat apart from the five. We had to order for our group and make sure it was delivered to them. The food bar was ok-ish. Very expensive for what you got. The cocktails were good. Now here's the crazy part...we left cash for part of our bill...which it appears the server thought that was the tip?! and then charged us the full amount on the credit card (party of 8 w/drinks and apps.) Basically got a 40% tip. I did not keep the receipt...why would I?! I noticed about 5 days later after reviewing my credit card statement. I have to say this is a first. Not sure if it's a one off. Maybe honest mistake? So many other places to visit...won't be back or recommend

Such a cool experience! It was my first speakeasy in Roseville and it didn't disappoint! There was about 1.5 hour wait however they will text you and hold your place for 5 mins. Luckily there's a bar across the street where you hang out before going in. Service was great! I saw the kitchen but didn't order any food since we ate at the bar across the street during our wait. I will have to check out their menu next time I'm there. Drinks are a bit on the sweeter side and pricey, but it's expected at any speakeasy

    The prime rib platter!

We LOVED it! We've been looking for great prime rib and have exhausted pretty much the whole area. Cattlemens was our fallback but they clearly lost the ability to care. Nothing worse than overcooked beef. We had to get carry out because my health was recovering. We always want pink beef. I like the candy store idea and it was fun. When the door opens it was pretty spectacular! Theresa was our server who was prompt seating us and was very pleasant to talk to. I had the gin happy hour drink while my husband had beer. I loved my foamy drink with a flower so much I had 2 lol. We had the shrimp appetizer but I can't eat very much since being sick so I only had one. My husband liked it so much that he ate the whole thing and the bread basket. Previously our best ever bread was in Islamarada years ago but husband said this was better. We both ordered the prime rib dinner. My gazpacho was okay mainly because I make mine with avocado and tomatoes and I like mine. My husband liked his Caesar. BUT here's the 10/10 The platter came out with a big cut of meat perfectly cooked. They brought a steak knife but a butter knife would have done it because it's that tender. Kudos to where they get their meat and how they cook it! The horseradish and au jus were enjoyable with it. There was rocket greens with it and mashed potatoes. The Yorkshire was different than how my Brit husband makes it but we appreciated Daniellos way and it went well with the prime rib. It comes with wine. We both had red - a nice pour and tasty. We picked the creme brûlée which was the icing on the cake. Although it was crowded Theresa was attentive and we didn't have to wait. Side note. I'm in a wheelchair and was frightened that in such an old building the bathroom might be a problem. It was modern and spacious for my chair. Coming out I was greeted by an employee who asked if he could give me a push to the table. It was incredibly observant and i haven't encountered that much. It was really nice! We will be back. It was excellent and people watching was fun!

Had a wonderful experience at Daniello's! Ordered the tomahawk steak for the table with some sides of Cesar salad, asparagus; and Parmesan fries. Ordered the Pure Imagination and the Golden Ticket for cocktails and both were fantastic. Definitely a fun upscale steakhouse and would be back for a fun occasion in the future. You can find the password to access the speakeasy on the Instagram page for Daniello's.

We had the most delightful time celebrating a very big birthday last night. It was a good thing we had reservations because they were packed. They give you the secret passcode when you confirm your spot. We entered through the magic door and were off on our grand adventure. We opted to stay in the lounge area and enjoy dinner because there is a rather steep flight of stairs that would have been difficult for my husband to maneuver. The decor in the lounge along with the cocktail menu is just intoxicating. I would love to go back when there are not so many people (noise). Patti took excellent care of us and was charming and gracious. She generously offered us some bubbles while we waited for our cocktails. We shared the prawn sundae which was perfectly seasoned. We opted for two the pasta entrees, both exquisite and then shared a miso caramel dessert (not pictured). We will definitely be back!

Beyond impressed with this establishment!! Went for daniellos for the first time on a Thursday evening to try out the prime rib special, what a deal $49! Loved the entrance, make sure you know the password to get in--- we started off with a Caesar salad & potato leek soup (it's one or the other) followed by the main course Prime rib, mashed potatoes arugula salad and bread, a glass of white or red wine is included in your meal as well. Prime rib was great I prefer mine medium well it was soft as butter, delicious with the horseradish and au jus, the mashed potatoes were creamy and had just the right amount of seasoning. We were served a red wine which was really nice and smooth. There was also a desert included in the meal I chose a salted caramel gelato which literally melted in your mouth. We will definitely be returning to Daniello's in the future! Thank you for such a pleasant experience!

You'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the wrong place or about to make a mistake and put yourself into a sketchy place. We looked around for a more "realistic" entry way not knowing the most realistic entry way is one that looks like a back door to a closed vacuum or furniture storefront. That's exactly the point. You knock. Immediately, the door opens. A man in a cowboy hat looks you over. He doesn't wear a name tag. He doesn't need one. He asks, "You have something to say?" If you've done your homework, and say the right thing, the door stays open. You're in. I do not know what happens if you do not have the word. What follows is less a bar and more a pocket of time. The interior is small but well conceived. The bar sits directly at the entrance, flanked by a few standing guests and several small tables. Beyond that, the space opens up into a lounge with seating for six to eight, and a longer bench-style area for a dozen or so. The walls are dark, the lighting low. It's the kind of place that feels like it remembers what Prohibition was, even if most of us never lived it. It felt like walking onto a movie set where we might be extras, and the main characters would enter and play out a scene. It was a perfect example of a speak easy in full swing. Even the glassware was legitimate. The decor is intentional. Books tucked into corners. Stags mounted on the wall. Nothing feels store-bought or trendy. It's immersive without trying too hard. The seats were not overstuffed contemporary types nor were the tables or even foot stools. They all looked like they came from a speak easy back in the day. About the only thing that did not look like the real thing were the patrons, as they were dressed casually, and of course the iPhones. I suppose that would have caused quite a ruckus during prohibition! Conversations are constant, layered over each other and laughter. It gets loud, but not obnoxious. There's a rhythm to the space that holds. My suggestion is to not go at 7pm on a Saturday and hope to get a prized table, couch or seat. Now, to the drinks. House Divided serves anything you ask for, but they lean into the theme. Classic cocktails done right. Throwbacks with historical lean. Creative new entries like lavender martinis that aren't just gimmicks. Each drink feels made by someone who knows what they're doing and takes pride in the process. This is not vodka-soda speed bar territory. It's craft, and it shows. I did not see a bottle of ocean spray anywhere, but what I did see were large glass bottles labeled with the juice or concoction held within. The little details are obvious! If I were to translate my usual framework:    *   Ambiance and Service: 4 stars (it can get loud and if you are here to have a conversation it will be difficult)    *   Quality: 5 stars- I had a simple drink - vodka and cranberry. With something "special" that the tender added. I don't know what it was, but the taste was wonderful! Way different than my standard go to!    *   Value? That depends on whether you're measuring price per ounce, or the fact that you just got to walk through a green door into another world. But in reality, 5 stars. Do I wish for more seating? Yes. Perhaps more quiet? Yes. But if it were those things, would it be the same? No. My guess is going on a Saturday at 7pm is going to be a bit crowded, and loud. That's my fault, and testament to their quality. Next, I found the staff to be great! Even the doorman gave it character, cowboy hat and boots and all! Great experience!

Who doesn't love the idea of a speakeasy?? We decided to head to Roseville in pursuit of a secret place. We found the secret door, knocked, and a young man answered. He asked for the password. Unfortunately I am not on social media and that's where you're supposed to find it. Bummer! I decided to use my own password. It worked and we entered the inner sanctum. It was a cool, smallish place with nice decor. The bar was the first thing we saw. I looked around to see a few tables and couches to the left. It was pretty early and there were only a few people there so we got a cozy little table in front of a velvety couch. I went to the bar where a burly tattooed OG bartender greeted me. I ordered an old fashioned and a raspberry lemon drop. My old fashioned was done very well. I'm on an old fashioned kick right now and love to try them at different places that look like they know how to make them. This one was really good. My friend wasn't so keen on her lemon drop, saying the lavender was a bit overpowering. We had another round and this time she had something different that she enjoyed. My second old fashioned was just as good as the first. It was getting later and more people happened to have the password and it was getting crowded. We were done, paid the tab, which wasn't bad considering how most speakeasy's can be pretty pricy. Overall, it was a great experience, the place was nice, friendly, and the drinks were done well. Give it a shot. Find the password, or use your own if you dare!
