Chicken Chardonnay

Go eat here. Unreal food. Do not be fooled by the low key exterior! You just stumbled on the best authentic Italian dining in the Greater Sacramento area. This place is old-school kind of good. You will feel it from the moment you walk in. The food is always HOT and a homemade fresh kind of taste. Everything from the warm bread they serve at the table to the ceasar salad and the pastas is 5/5 stars. You will not be disappointed. Server/hostess Nicole is always so good to us every time we come in. Again, old school good....the service and consistently amazing, authentic food experience is what keeps us coming back.

We came early on a Sunday evening and were sat right away. Staff were very attentive. Excellent food. The petrale sole almondine was amazing! Interior is perfect for a date night. Parking lot has space for about 10 cars, but there is street parking nearby.

This picture of the restaurant from the reception area into it, I believe, sets the tone of what's to come.

About the same as last time, this is an old school style Italian restaurant. If you are seeking typical, middle of the road Italian fare, then this is the place to go. There's nothing particular bad, other than being ordinary, and nearly every dish could be made easily at home, with an added bump up in flavor. I started with a salad, good enough and lightly dressed, but the individual parts could have been shredded or cut down further for ease of eating. I got a huge chunk of cucumber. This time, I had the Pasta Milano. It was competent enough, the pasta well prepared, but it was drowned in a thick white sauce. The chicken pieces were cooked OK, could have been smaller, and seemed to come from a commercial grade product in a freezer bag. The taste of the dish was very mild, bland, and was similar to one of those preprepared freezer options from a supermarket. It was a very heavy dish and undoubtedly very high in fat content. I ended the meal with ice cream, a Spumoni. Again, nothing out of the ordinary. Service was a bit inconsistent. Meals did not arrive together with an inordinate lag time from one person to another, and it took a couple of asks to get water glasses refilled. I truly have nothing against the restaurant other than being ordinary and not all that inspiring. It's the type of place my parents went to in the 1960s, so for nostalgia, this is the place. Note: Apologies for the last review. There is a misspelling that can not be corrected. Linguini with class should be Linguini with clams.

Cioppino! Mmmmmm

Excellent meal! Had the cioppino, and after having cioppino in many places around CA, this was EXCELLENT. Our server (I wish I could remember her name) was very attentive, friendly, and had a beautiful smile. . The vibe of the restaurant was also quite nice. Not loud and conversation friendly. Decor fit the vibe and the food. Check it out!

A very nice cute little restaurant, beautiful Christmas decorations, and amazing appetizers and food was really good. They also have really good bread with olive oil and vinegar and oregano as a complementary. Our waitress was very nice and she kept giving us more vinegar and oil as we asked. I'll definitely come back to try the different pastas.

This was my second time visiting and I felt compelled to leave a review. I do not post reviews very…read moreoften anymore, since my ex stalks my yelp and always ends up at the places I review but this place truly deserves the recognition. (Yes I hope he reads this lmao) Both times I have visited, the staff has been incredibly pleasant and personable. The food is absolutely chef's kiss. I love the Classico Tostada with shrimp. The chili oil adds the perfect touch. I also tried the ensalada de elote and it was delicious. It was surprisingly filling and satisfying all on its own. The cocktails are unique, which I really appreciate. I have tried several now and every one of them has been excellent. The Lincoln location is small and intimate. I have not visited the Midtown location yet, but since I live in Sacramento I will definitely make it there at some point.

The concept at Omakase Por Favor in Lincoln is really cool; the fusion of Japanese and Mexican…read morecuisines reminds me of a high-end fusion spot I've tried in Vegas. It's a very modern, small restaurant, and the bar seating is definitely the focal point of the space, though the overall vibe felt a little cold with minimal decoration. I'd love to come back to try their full omakase experience eventually, but the service was a real letdown. Even though we were the only two people in the restaurant most of the time, we felt like an inconvenience. At one point, I said out loud that we were ready to order; the staff including our waitress stopped for a second, looked at us, and then just went back to what they were doing without acknowledging us. It was as if we were on her time, and she was making it clear that she would get to us when she felt like it, not when we were ready. The wait for food was also way too long. Despite being the only ones there, I waited about 40 minutes for my ceviche mixto bowl ($22). For a raw dish that requires no actual cooking, that kind of delay in such a small space is hard to justify. We also had the broiled oysters ($15) and oyster shooters ($5), which were solid. I noticed the drink menu didn't have many sweet cocktail options, so I asked if they could make me a lemon drop instead; and they granted the request. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The food and drinks are great, but the service and kitchen speed really need to be more attentive to match the quality of the menu.
