Serving breakfast and lunch this cafe is located in Rocklin. I ordered the sausage Lil Breakfast a mini size from the full version. All lil breakfasts are served with one egg any style, house potatoes or fruit and your choice of toast. This is perfect size for my appetite. The two sausage links were big and juicy. They gave a good portion of the potatoes. They fit all of this in one small plate LoL! There are plenty of seating inside and even more on their outdoor patio. My friend and I were driving back to the Bay Area and stopped in here for a quick breakfast. She got a Benedict, and from what I could see, the eggs were perfectly poached. I got the corned beef hash and it was very solid, with big ol' yummy chunks of hash. Based on the Yelp reviews, we decided to give HOTG a try. When we arrived, there was only one other occupied table. There appeared to only be two employees at the time - one taking care of the front of house and the other in the kitchen. The counter, area behind it, and parts of the kitchen we could see all appeared very cluttered, so we weren't that sure about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Being that there weren't any orders ahead of ours, the food came out quickly and was made to order. The bacon was cooked well, but incredibly greasy (over and above what is normal for bacon). We stopped here this morning with the grandparents after my son's TK graduation. We wanted a breakfast spot close to his school and chose this place based on the great reviews. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. I easily could have shared my meal! Our table ordered the California omelet, the Farmer's omelet, a veggie omelet, and my son loved his chocolate chip pancakes.The service was excellent. From 7 AM to 8 AM, you can order off the Lil Breakfast or Little Breakfast menu for $7.99. From 11 AM to 2 PM, you can order a 1/2 sandwich (turkey, ham, tuna, or +$1 club) and a side for $8.99. When I entered on a weekday morning, I was allowed to choose anywhere to sit. Plenty of sunshine with walls of windows. Clean and comfortable. Outdoor dining area available. My husband and I were coming home from a night at the Hard Rock seeing the Doobie Brothers and Santana when we decided to stop and eat. I yelped a few places and landed on Hot off the Griddle. It was a bit out of the way but the reviews were positive. Wow! So glad we went! From the moment we walked in the door, everyone was super friendly. The service was excellent, friendly, attentive and accommodating! I was torn between having my breakfast with the french toast or the waffle. I asked our server which she preferred and she said that's a tough one but the waffle would be her pick. I went with the waffle and I'm so glad I did!! It was seriously the best waffle I've ever had! The texture, flavor, warmed syrup were all on point! My husband opted for lunch and selected the tuna melt. He said it was excellent !! Terrific flavor, not sweet which he doesn't like. i went here on a sunday (mother's day) afternoon at 1pm and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. we were waiting a lot for us to order and get our food, but it was mother's day so we understood the were busy. the staff was friendly but they did forget to input our to go order, so we had to wait even longer. the food was pretty good. i personally got the biscuits and gravy and it was not my favorite so i'd definitely order something different next time. read more

Hot off the Griddle here is in the middle of the pack for quality, quantity and overall satisfaction. Big plus was that the place was quiet, plenty of outdoor patio tables available. Barbara and I bought the family wolf pack (3 Labrador retrievers). Back corner table was perfect. Service was cheerful and prompt but unfortunately not very accurate. I asked for my glass of juice 3 times before it finally arrived. I ordered over easy eggs and was given scrambled. I asked for decaf coffee, got fully leaded. L'li breakfast with biscuits and gravy wasn't that little. The biscuits were pretty doughy. The gravy was slightly sweet instead of salty. The two sausages were delicious. Scrambled eggs were way overcooked and cold when placed before me. Barbara's order was more accurate. And she got a nice little bowl of fresh fruit on the side. We exited fully fed. I skipped lunch. Picked this spot for breakfast mainly for the kids menu and because it was near a coffee shop we wanted to try. Honestly it wasn't anything super special. I ordered the small plate of biscuits and gravy and it didn't have nearly as much gravy as I would've liked for that biscuit size! The egg was nicely cooked at least and the egg yolk helped, but overall The dish was just very flavorless unfortunately. The apples were brown too and looked a little too sketchy to eat. The kids meal was a good portion, plenty for two toddlers to share. I think their portion was actually more than mine. A surprisingly good place for breakfast/brunch that was found through Yelp! The menu had a lot of good choices, made it difficult for us to choose what to order as the breakfast and lunch options sounded all good. I opted for a mushroom & spinach omelette and the eggs were cooked to perfection. A pancake or toast were options given with my meal and a pumpkin pancake was offered so I chose that! My son in law opted for the chicken fried steak which he upgraded for a couple dollars and it was delicious, lightly seasoned and fried and a very tasty gravy that came with it. Definitely don't come here for the service, we waited about 35 minutes after we ordered for a party of seven to get our food. One person got their food 15 minutes before everyone else's, so in terms of service not great. I ordered the two meal which includes two style eggs, choice of meat: sausage and two pancakes and if it wasn't for the food being so delicious and tasty I probably would give this place a 1 star. Pancakes probably the best pancakes I've had in a very long time along with the butter and syrup and the sausage were perfectly cooked and flavorful. Wife got some fries and they were crunchy and great! Along with the ranch sauce. Soo good. While supercharging our Tesla, we looked for a place for lunch nearby and found this delightful restaurant just across the parking lot. Our darling waitress was a ray of sunshine. She was flying around that restaurant keeping way too many many customers happy. She must surely be exhausted by the end of her workday. Our food was very good and fairly priced. I loved my French toast side order. We did, however, find the au juice for the French dip too salty. The fries are the best ever!... crisp and not greasy. YAY! Scrambled eggs over home fry style potatoes with toast (or 1 pancake, no upcharge) Seating is basic, but can be uncomfortable for those with sciatica. The outside seating has no cushion either. Tesla super charger onsite and this is right off I-80 so perfect stop to charge where you can see your car. I do not have one, but worth noting. read more

Came here for brunch after a long hike and it really hit the spot. We arrived around 11:30 and were able to sit anywhere. I ordered the H.O.T.G. Benedict the fried green tomato is what sold me on it! I also asked for my potatoes extra crispy, and they came out perfect. The Benedict sauce was delicious, with just the right amount so every bite had a little of everything. Crispy outside with a steaming inside and a lovely hint of malt. I got a veggie omelet expecting the usual boring veggies. Instead a jam packed omelet shows up with asparagus broccoli, cauliflower, and other veggies. It was amazing! The atmosphere is a bit understated but clean. This is the second time I've eaten here and I'll be coming back in the future. This morning my wife and I split a HUGE H.O.T.G Eggs Benedict plate. The home fry's were great and the Eggs Benedict were the best I ever had in my eighty plus years. The muffins appeared to have been grilled rather than toasted and it definitely added to the flavor . Everything was clean - even the kitchen which is in view to the diners. Half of our orders were great and we marveled at the fresh, delicious product. Unfortunately the turkey sandwiches 3 of our party ordered were very inconsistent. 2 orders contained only 1 slice of turkey, the 3rd was filled with several slices. The customers at the table next to us also ordered turkey sandwiches and their sandwiches were filled with several slices of meat. The service is so friggin slow. In 15 minutes the one "waitress" at 1 on 5 August is jawing with her friend "Oh, I'm take care of you" and not one table has been visited for an order.
