The meat loaf plate after I got done with it. Can you tell it was good?
Robert M.

I stopped in on my way to Stockton for a late afternoon early dinner. I ordered the Meatloaf off the Senior menu. The service was prompt and respectful as I have come to know many of the locations on the east coast. The ambiance is consistent across the entire chain. The decorations while not identical are always consistent to their theme. I selected the meatloaf dinner from the senior menu with two sides of steak fries and broccoli accompanied by a biscuit. Boy the cook really nailed this plate. Very very good recipe for their meatloaf. Kudos.

I heard that Cracker Barrel is popular on the East Coast, and I wanted to check it out. It's very classic, no frills American breakfast spot with a cozy, nostalgic vibes. They have a gift store with a variety items like hello kitty plushies, stickers, keychains etc in the entrance. Since I'm not a huge breakfast person, I wanted something lighter. I got the turkey sausage with egg whites and grits. The turkey sausage was flavorful and well cooked. This was actually my first time trying grits, for those who haven't had them, it's a bland porridge made from ground dried corn. I appreciated the fresh fruit on the side to finish the meal. The service was efficient, attentive, and very friendly. If you're in the area and looking for a reliable, classic breakfast, this is a great choice.

Cracker Barrel Old Coutry Store sells fun and seasonal merchandise as well as serves up good, old-fashioned Southern-style meals with seasonal items/meals. Sure, it's kitschy like a themed amusement park experience: tons of country decor but we've consistently had pretty good meals and good service. Winter brings out Thanksgiving and Christmas decor, entrees, and sides. On our recent visit, we had delightful fried chicken: moist meat, crunchy exterior, and good flavor. Plus, we had a tasty meatloaf! The sides are generally pretty good, too. Our favorites are the fried cinnamon apples, buttermilk biscuits, mac n cheese, dumplins, and cheesy grits.

Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd's Pie~ I didn't think I'd like this casserole as much as I did, but it was smackin'! Tot loved it!

We stopped in with a gift card, gifted by my mom for my hubby's birthday. We started out with a Southern Half & Half and Old-Fashioned Lemonade. I tried a sip of hubby's and it had just the right amount of sweetness, my lemonade was delicious as well! For dinner we ordered the New Big Easy Steak & Shrimp and Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd's Pie. Hubby enjoyed his flavorful filled meal, I tried a bite and loved the steak and mashed potatoes! I didn't think I'd like this casserole as much as I did, but it was smackin'! Tot loved it! Comes with their Hand-Rolled Buttermilk Biscuits and decent Corn Muffins. Cracker Barrel opened in 1969 and focuses on high quality ingredients. They know classic comfort food and their merchandise section has so many fun holiday decor and gifts right now! Even toddler and baby country clothes like an adorable cowgirl hat, boots, mustache, and barbell rattle! I want it all, lol! Great staff that serves you with a smile and location! She gave our tot a magnetic butterfly! We'll be back SYOY! :-)

Come here for the vibes and the nostalgia. The food is edible but I wouldn't say it's amazing. The biscuits are a bit under, the cornbread could use a bit of flavor. The Mac and cheese is decent but not special. I enjoyed the meatloaf more than I expected. Our family only ordered broccoli as the only vegetable and I found them unappealing. The brown gravy is straight up onion powder and salt made into a liquid. Kids meals are also decent, and I'm sure a child would eat their fill. The staff are all incredible patient and hardworking. They have to deal with picky eaters and huge tables. They were attentive, even with several large parties. The decor is fun and old-timey but I definitely wouldn't choose to come here.

Always a good place to stop at, especially if you need a place to boondock. We went here before the controversy, so I am not sure how the food will change. As it stands now, it is GREAT comfort food, and the service is outstanding. I am hoping the changes will just be cosmetic, with the quality of food staying the same.

Came here 07/05/2025 w family Honestly who made this place only 2.7stars because it should be at least a 4. They just ordering the wrong thing. This store is connected to a small shop where you can do some post munch shopping. Maybe get something cute! We were seated right away, lucky. There is a lot of cute, vintage items to look for on the walls. It can never get old. We all ordered the momma's breakfast pancake ($13.5) which came with bacon and two eggs (you can let the waiter know how you like them done) and three pancakes with whipped butter. They will give you a small bottle of house syrup on the side. Don't be why to ask for more. The pancakes were super buttery, creamy, and DELICIOUS. I couldn't make it past two pancakes, brought it home and it was still good!! what a surprise. I also got the pink lemonade ($3.99). Very refreshing, not too sour. A great combo with the pancakes. But it also pairs wonderfully with any drink! I also heard that the campfire meals are delicious, will try it next time!! Overall, great experience. Just ask the locals!!

I know this review is late but yes, I do highly recommend Cracker Barrel. They have something for everybody. For those with a sweet tooth they have a great skillet Cinnamon roll which are individually in the pan. They are very moist and the glaze is the perfect amount of sweetness. If you love barbecue, they make a barbecue where the bone comes out of the meat so tender so decadent . They make a great slaw with just a right amount of sauce. And if you get their peach mimosa you're gonna love it because it is fresh peach purée mixed with champagne. This is a great place for the whole family and. Friends to enjoy time together. Their service is very welcoming and friendly. If you like shopping they have a nice little gift shop for you to look around and buy something.

Time for an update! This is the only location left as the Howe ave location closed. I come here about once every other month. We brought our mother here for Mothers day as it is her favorite place. They used to be very good value for your money but now they are like everyone else, $16-18 per entree and that includes breakfast. When they first opened, service was long and atrocious. I will have to say that has improved as I do not remember a bad experience in recent months. What sets them apart is a few items you cannot find anywhere else. Chicken and dumpling. Fried apples. Hashbrown casserole. Then I love the little gift shop attached. One of the few places I don't mind waiting because I love to browse. Some items are pricey but they always have a sale section.

This is my mom (age 67) new favorite place to eat. Where you first walk in you go through a cute little store where you can buy knickknacks for seasonal holidays or just for fun. And then you go into the restaurant which has cool decor throughout multiple periods all over the walls. The food is an American style and they have daily specials. Servers are always very friendly. Food I've had so far and what I would rate it: Meatloaf 4/5. Chicken and Dumplings 3/5. Chicken sandwich 5/5. Burger 5/5. Fries 5/5. Steak tips 4/5. Chocolate cake 3.5/5. Mac and cheese 4/5. Cheesy potato casserole 5/5. Mashed potatoes 4/5.

What a nice relaxing place to have some very delicious wholesome stick to your ribs food! My son, brother and I had dinner at this lovely restaurant this evening. We were waited on by a super nice and very friendly waitress. She politely assisted us in getting our drinks and taking our order. The food arrived quickly and was served hot and fresh. Very yummy. My son and I had the chicken strips and my brother had a salad and the turkey soup. The food was so yummy! (Please see pictures below and let your eyes do the feasting) Great place and hope to be back asap!

The guy who took my order over the phone was an absolute doll and so friendly and professional. The food isn't backing up the level of hard work the people here are doing and it isn't their fault. It's obvious standards for quality have been lowered this year and while I've noticed it getting worse and worse this is my final time eating at this chain. You just cannot tell me that is normal for chicken. I've never seen anything like it. Corporate, I understand you're trying to keep prices cheap, but when you're having to do so at the cost of serving prison grade meat, it's time to do something different. The biscuits also seemed like they were super old. I couldn't even eat this. As far as ambiance, I don't know. It was a takeout order. As far as I remember the place used to look old fashioned but I think they changed that, too. The worst is the food, though. Really cute southern restaurant concept but super gross food. Cannot overestimate how nice and lovely the employees are. Again, this is not on them. They're doing everything right in fact more right than much higher end places I've been to all over the world.

Lantern on each and every table. It was unbelievably clean

We were in the Roseville area Friday and thinking about having a lunch at a good steakhouse, and…read morereally glad we chose this Lucille's. The food was great, especially the briskets and the sausages, their cocktails were so good too. And the real cherry on top was the lady who served us, the type of service that would make you drawn to the place, making your choice way easier when looking for a place to eat. Will definitely come back again especially at those prices too.

I very much enjoyed my experience coming here for the first time. As per my previous review that…read morewas specifically for a delivery order. The atmosphere of the place is delightful, very eclectic and fun, plus the restaurant is huge with multiple rooms and seating alternatives. The four of us chose a cozy booth near the cooker. The menu is quite extensive with lots of options. The primary fare is very much BBQ as one would expect. As per my previous review they also have some really wonderful New Orleans style cuisine, gumbo, jambalaya, beignets. I had my mind set on trying the BBQ and glad I did. It was truly delicious and good quality. I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, yet it was right up there. Since we were there for lunch I gravitated to the lunch specials in back of the menu. Since I wanted to try a variety of the large number of choices I went for the "three meal" selection and chose the St. Louis ribs, the brisket and the chicken. Plus a side of baked beans which was included from the available choices. It comes on a utilitarian metal tray, condusive to making a sloppy mess. It also comes with a wonderful biscuit and special seasoned butter which definitely hit the spot. We ordered fried okra for an appetizer and it was a hit with everyone. Nicely sizzling hot, a bit greasy, but ever so good! Hey, no one anticipated a healthy meal coming here! Our friends ordered the gumbo too and we all couldn't resist a spoonful or two. YUM! Just as good as before and a good portion of it too. They have three sauces available at the table if you care to lather more on your stuff. I did, the hot sauce, which wasn't as powerful as I like, but good enough for a bit of kick. The brisket was tender and exceptional, the ribs very delicious, and the chicken, a large leg, was moist and cooked perfectly. For BBQ they know what they're doing, with the coating, cooking time and sauce. It all was very good and very filling. I was stuffed! For around $25. not a bad price either. Oh, the baked beans were fabulous, the best I've had in years. For a drink I had an Arnold Palmer which came in a huge Mason type jar. Loved it. For dessert we ordered the traditional beignets. I was only able to eat one. I believe six were in the order. For someone who's eaten innumerable beignets at Cafe du Monde and Morning Call in New Orleans these aren't the same size, yet just as good. The consistency is perfect and not over cooked. YUM! The service was very friendly and helpful, upbeat and made certain that everything was to our liking. One of the best parts is they give you a warm towel to clean up at the end. That was good for me as I started out intending to politely fork and knife it throughout but gave up soon after and ended up eating the ribs and chicken with my fingets making a sticky mess! Why not enjoy it? Overall a really nice experience. I will definitely go back and especially since I enjoy the unique atmosphere of the dine-in experience. Good job, Lucille!

Bold flavors, expert preparation, pretty on the plate and generous portions. Bambie had the 1/2 chicken fried southern style. Crispy ouside, soft and moist inside. Side of mash potatoes, side of perfectly sauteed carrot slices. I had a cesar salad. Fresh, crisp, again a big portion. The dressing was a perfect blance of creamy, piquant and a tad peppery. The croutons were crisp and flavorful. Best Cesar salad that I've had in years. My main dish was the pork carnitas tacos. Topped with heaping mounds of shredded cabbage. Creamy sauce on the cabbage. A side of mild-ish chipotle salsa served on the side to pour on the carnitas. The tacos were so big that they were almost too unwieldly to hold. But I persevered and gobbled them like there is no tomorrow. Satisfying. A big hungry guy will be perfectly happy after polishing off the plate. Wine selection is small but has the usual good suspects in the reasonable price range. Mostly California wines. I live 2 miles from this place. Tonight was my first visit. Oh yeah I'll be a frequent return customer. Highly recommended.

Seeing as how its bulking season, I finally had a chance to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. This is probably my new favorite breakfast spot. Its not perfect, but its still great. We got the Cooter's benedict...which isnt really a Benedict but more just biscuits and gravy. The sausage was surprisingly hand made! I couldn't believe it. Usually most places just give you pre-made Jimmy Dean's type of sausages. My wife doesnt like sausage in general and she actually loves the sausage here. The country potatoes are something that I skip almost everytime from every single breakfast spot, but for what is probably the first time ever, they were actually seasoned! Whatever person thought that just putting oil, onions, and bell peppers in a pan for a few minutes and the serving it should be castrated. The plate could have used more gravy, but the biscuits were so fluffy they basically fell apart and weren't dry and hard like some places. And you know how some places charge to split a plate? Not here! We also got the stuffed French toast which was just as great. The toast wasn't too eggy, plenty of scratch made whipped cream, and weren't skimpy on the blueberries either. Also wasn't overstuffed where all you could taste was cream cheese. I did try the homemade looking jam, but I would say its a bit concerning. I cant imagine them cleaning out the container after every table leaves and you never know what type of person before you is in the jar. All in all, this is the new default breakfast spot for sure.

The Owner's Yelp business description states they "specialize in breakfast", which sounded awesome. Reviews and photos looked so promising. Our experience was nothing like what others have shared though :( The space is nice and spacious, with an old school vibe which we liked, and we were so hopeful upon entering for the first time. Service was polite enough...but felt insincere and disinterested in taking good care of the customer. The one employee who I felt actually cared was the hostess, but the waitstaff seem to just be going through the motions. We shared it was our first time coming and we were excited to treat ourselves to a rare breakfast out. We needed a few extra minutes to study the menu since it was our first visit, but then we got forgotten about. I attempted to catch the waitresses attention numerous times with no success. After waiting about ten minutes longer than was reasonable, I did seek out the hostess's help in tracking down someone who could take our order. She was super apologetic, but of course it wasn't her job as she was busy seating people and handling her own tasks. The biggest disappointment was the food - in looking back at the photos the French toast we ordered looked nothing like the photos - first, when I asked what the difference between the 1/2 and full order was we were told it was 4 slices vs. 6 slices. That definitely seemed to justify the price so we ordered a half order for my young boy and I to share. What came out was shockingly different - it was two tiny slices of bread that looked like the inexpensive sliced grocery store bread. Because it was already small thinly sliced bread before being cooked, it was truly tiny once plated. We were honestly surprised they felt comfortable serving it. Maybe they ran out of their thick large French toast bread? No matter, they certainly shouldn't have served what we received though. It was confusing and embarrassing, IMO. So, we were misinformed that it was a 4 slice portion when it was 2 small thin slices of bread cut in half...that is not 4 slices of French toast. And then the waitress didn't come around our entire meal so I couldn't inquire about it until we were done. I ended up giving the French toast to my boy who ate it all in under 120 seconds, no joke (because there wasn't much to eat) and then he said he was still hungry. I, too, was quite hungry. Other family members agreed that the taste was good, but nothing special, and the servings did not match the high prices. So, the food was tasty enough but the portions were unreasonably small and do not justify the price, the service lacks greatly, and the misinformation was truly disappointing and misleading. When I did politely ask at the end about why she said it was 4 slices vs. 6 slices the waitress backpedaled stating she meant it was 4 halves vs. 6 halves...and then she apologized that we were leaving hungry and offered me a biscuit. ??? Why would I want a biscuit? I just wanted the meal the waitress told me I was ordering. I wanted what some previous customers have shared in their photos here. The French toast in the photos here on Yelp looks legit and exactly what we wanted and expected...again, so odd the kitchen staff felt comfortable plating up the order we received. Zero quality control there. Honestly, it was just a weird and disappointing experience that had us leaving hungry and unsatisfied, so we went home and prepared a meal there. We are super chill people with realistic expectations, so for us to struggle with this first experience says a lot about how subpar it was. The price of a soft drink is unreasonable as well ($5) - which isn't a huge deal, but with the disappointing food it was just the icing on the cake. A large cup is served but it's completely filled with ice. When asked if we wanted a refill she brought a small cup over with 85% ice and some soda, using that small cup to refill the large cup...splashing soda all over the table and then having to use her dirty damp rag shoved in her apron pocket to clean it up around our food plates, which was definitely unsanitary and made us cringe. There were customers there though - not sure if they were first-timers like us due to the new Farmers Market, but maybe they do have a repeat clientele so none of this matters to them because they can keep their doors open without new customers like us. Sad to try a local business we were excited about and then have this disappointing experience. We envisioned making trips to the new Farmers Market across the street often and then enjoying a wonderful breakfast afterwards, as a nice new Saturday morning tradition. Sadly we will not be returning to this restaurant.

There's a reason this shop has made Yelp's Top 100 nationally more than once! So much has already…read morebeen said about the top notch customer service and the quality of the food that I won't regurgitate it all, I'll just add to the praise. After just two sandwiches, Guy's is already in my personal Top 5. I am incredibly picky about chicken salad (when it's not my own) but Guy's version is about 99% of the way to my heart. But then I ordered their the secret menu item the Life Changer aka Guy's Over the Top Chicken Salad. Game over. It slayed. I'm dead. I could have easily eaten ten of them. My mouth is craving one every week, even if my wallet isn't. As I'm writing this, my stomach is sobbing because they're closed on Mondays. The prices are spot on for the quality you get. If they charged a little more, I wouldn't be mad. They use high quality ingredients, well curated combinations, and the servings are generous and hearty. I'm already planning to try their soups for next time.

Perfectly balanced, fresh, and packed with flavor without being heavy. It's the kind of sandwich you think about later in the day and start planning your next visit around. Simple, done exceptionally well. But what really sets this place apart is the people. Guy, his wife, and their daughter are some of the most welcoming folks you'll ever meet. From the moment you walk in, it feels like you're being taken care of, not just served. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and their community, and that warmth shows in everything they do. This is the definition of a neighborhood gem--great food, great people, and a place you actually want to support again and again. If you're in Roseville and haven't been here yet, you're missing out.
