This review is for the Kiki's food truck with the Rocklin address that was on the side of the truck. I pulled in thinking about grabbing a quick bite with bae. We've been helping family move and this seemed like a great idea because - who doesn't like fried chicken? It was almost 9pm and no line. When I lived in Auburn, I always drove by seeing Kiki's in this tire shop parking lot. Even at night, this food truck is well lit and easy to spot from the road. I placed 2 orders for 3 tenders and fries. I requested to have mine tossed in lemon pepper sauce and my other half got bbq and Buffalo on the side. Both the man taking my order and the girl cooking were so pleasant! It only took about 5 minutes to cook. The man let me know that the Lemon pepper tenders were on the bottom and the sauces (bbq and Buffalo) were inside their own bag. We drove to my friends house to eat (only a few minutes away) and they looked and smelled so delicious! The chicken tenders that were tossed in the lemon pepper sauce were still crunchy! My other halves looked just as delicious, but not as delicious as mine! There were plenty of fries! The taste? I can tell you the Lemon pepper tenders were FIRE!! Very delicious when dipped into bbq sauce. The fries were a fail though. They were soggy. Next time I come here, I will not be getting fries. my husband placed a curbside pickup at the wrong location (this one). i was bringing lunch to him at work as he was working overtime at the hospital.. called this location explaining the situation. the lady who was working was completely unhelpful and lacking basic customer service.. she also said they don't offer curbside yet my receipt states curbside pickup and had us list our car make and model.. so if you don't have curbside, update your website.. anyways i asked if i could get a refund or at least credits. and she said no.. she said i could just come to their location and pick it up. unfortunately i wasn't able to do so as my husband wouldn't have had time to eat it. and the quality of the food would've been horrible 30 minutes later... i own a spot nearby and if a guest came to me with that i would do my best to help out. but just turning the customer away is disgusting. read more

But the issue is--they never asked me if I wanted any sauces or extras when I placed the order. This is one of our kid's favorite chicken places. The employees were nice and the food came out quickly. This is a big deal because fried food at almost anywhere takes a while to come out. We didn't wait long. The food tasted good. Sometimes when you order fried food it has that burnt oil taste but that wasn't our experience here. The food was cooked perfectly. The flavors we chose tasted as expected based on their names and were overall good. The waffle was the most impressive. It was huge, and you got so much considering it's price. We asked and found out that it was made from scratch and did not come out of a carton. We may come back just for waffles. A key thing to note is that this place is very filling. Kiki's. I've been coming to eat here since 2016. Not specifically this location, but the one on Madison avenue down in Fair Oaks. I've brought many friends and family members to try their food and I haven't found a single person who didn't instantly fall in love. Now I currently go back and forth eating at the Rocklin one and the Fair Oaks location depending where I'm at in my day, and the quality is consistent across both of them. To start, service isn't ever over the top friendly, but they are nowhere near bad either. They've been always moderate on the service part of it. As for the food, I cannot recommend the Kiki's fries enough. It's a bed of fries with buffalo chicken, buffalo sauce, ranch, and bleu cheese. I usually prefer mine with the garlic fries instead of the regular ones but it's good either way. The chicken is always so unbelievable juicy on the inside, with a nice crispy layer on the outside. The fries are always perfectly cooked, and the sauces mix nicely so it's never too overpowering in any direction. I've also had their chicken sandwiches, tenders, wings, and chicken and waffles. While I have to say they were all delicious, the thing that really makes Kiki's stand out are those Kiki fries I talked about. Out of every food place in Sacramento I've been, Kiki's is one of those places that has made it into my top 10 places to eat. It shares the ranks in my mind with other top 10's such as Mikuni, Sushimono, and Ike's Sandwiches. I also just heard about the passing of Summer Gonzalez who was the co-founder of Kiki's and so my heart goes out to her family. In honor of Summer and the legacy she helped build, I cannot stress enough, that anyone on the fence about coming here, should come on by and try those Kiki fries, and support this small business. read more

Kiki's famous fries I had bookmarked the Sacramento location for sometime now but couldn't find the time to make it there. It looks like I didn't have to go there after all to try Kiki's Fries that many raved about (thanks, Chuck M) because Placer County now has its own location. This new location in Rocklin, just across the street from Sierra College, is only in its third week and already is slowly being discovered by many locals. Only an exit away from my work place I made it here through rush hour traffic. The inside was spacious. It had flat screens strategically placed throughout the dining area. Next to the ordering counter is a small semi-circle bar-type seating. It doesn't look like liquor is served here? Maybe beer? I dunno. There are both booths and table seating. This was my first time trying their food. Luckily, there was no one behind me while I was at the order counter trying to decide on what to get. I already know that Kiki's Fries was a must for first timers but I also ordered 5-pcs of chicken wings. It was a lot of food for one person. Food was brought to my table. The wings were crispy and delicious with the sauces I chose, garlic Parmesan and honey BBQ, but it didn't beat the two other chicken places that I really like. I ordered the medium size fries with 8-oz of chicken. It was plentiful and yummy good. The fries were smothered with cheese, Ranch, Blue cheese and buffalo sauce. Pleasant first time experience here with nice, friendly and helpful staff. Located on the corner of the strip mall closest to Sierra College Blvd, Kiki's replaced Los Delfines Mexican Restaurant. Outdoor patio seating available along the side. There are ample parking spaces but note that there are other businesses in this strip mall so it may get full during peak meal hours plus with the community college just across the street it may overwhelm the parking lot. Kiki's chicken always hits. It doesn't matter what you get. It is always filling and delicious. Some of our favorites are the chicken on top of fries with their buffalo sauce or just their wings with a side of fries. It's always fast. It's always yummy. The chicken isn't ever chewy or undercooked in the fries are always super crispy and definitely well salted. As for the cleanliness of the restaurant, it always seems to be clean. The staff is nice and always get your food out quickly, which is a big plus, especially if you're in a hurry. They just dumped a spoonful of minced garlic in the middle and then sprinkled cheese over the top. Good garlic fries are tossed with the garlic. The cole slaw was flavorless. Our order consisted of a Tender Combo and Tenders & Wings. We added Hawaiian Rolls. The chicken was some of the best I have had in a long time. Crispy on the outside covering moist / tender chicken. The Wings are good. They are breaded - keep that in mind. There are other places that serve wings not breaded in case you're trying to stay very low carb. They off tater tots as a side, in addition to fries. So far, in four visits, ALL food has been hot, fresh, and flavorful. The service there has been great three out of four visits. On my first visit, a young woman was fussing with some tablet of some sort (she wasn't on her phone), and her being distracted and not really interested in taking my order. It wasn't really super rude or anything, but it was annoying. I've been back three times and all have been great. We stopped here on our way from Reno to SF. Saw it on Yelp and didn't want a burger. Good food. The chicken strips were juicy and tender and the bone-in wings had a nice flavor even without the sauce. A nice place to eat and seemed rather busy with locals there. First time trying Kiki's and honestly not sure I'll be back. It's across the street from Sierra College and I decided to try it on a Saturday at 4:30ish. I walked in excited to try it and was hit in the face with a restaurant full of college kids that only used the F word. I decided to get my food to go. While waiting for my food, there was a huge group sitting at the big table right in the middle of the restaurant. There was a chick with full on face paint and the longest fake lashes I have ever seen. She was yelling that she's about to F***ing body slam these two F***ers outside and she dgaf if it's it 2 on 1. I have no idea who she was yelling about but there was also younger children in there and she made me very uncomfortable. The workers all looked stressed including the manager. Finally my name was called for my order and it was difficult to get through all the people to the front counter to pick up my order. Grabbed my food and got the heck outta there fast!!! I get home, excited to try to my Kiki fries, and the chicken is bone dry! I can see the Kiki's fries could be awesome with the sauces poured on it but the dry chicken killed it.
