Tucked away inside the 76 is probably some of the best Fried Chicken in the area. I have seen the marinade process and it was amazing. They lather all the chicken pieces in a nice orange marinade with a slight hint of spice. You can taste it all the way through the chicken. I'm always being sent by coworkers for pickups. They are always very helpful and kind whenever I visit on my lunch. Great chicken, great staff, and great service inside and out! read more

Craving for fresh fried chicken. What to do when in Roseville? KKC has been in my Yelp Collection sub folder named Rocklin Roseville and today was the day for taking that risky leap despite negative reviews. After all, what's to be cautious with gas station FC, right?. Called ahead for a 12 pc dark meat bucket and got a 30-minute estimate by the lady who answered the phone. I had to ask for 3 special orders of 4 piece dark meats as they don't have anything more than this. Bill came out to $27 for 12 pieces of drumsticks and thighs. The bucket was waiting for me when I arrived 10 minutes earlier. Nothing fancy about this chicken shack. It's on your immediate left upon entering Penryn's 76 gas station Food Mart after the cash register. A few gnomes and a Chik Fil-A cow (what!?) above the heat lamps with stacks of empty boxes. Settled my bill, snapped a few photos and hurried back home. My initial impression of my first few bites were that there's no way this was going to beat my best FC meal in the US, which was Chicago's Harold's. KKC 4 stars at best. That changed a few hours after I ate three more portions. I now appreciate the Cajun herbs and the spicy flavors without the salty seasoning. Krispy Krunchy Chicken will probably be our go-to spot for FC for while in the Roseville area read more

This is the new and improved "KFC" of the present. Delicious chicken pieces with great breading. Service is super friendly and seems like a homey small town welcome. Ambience and bright and clean with several extra options from the 76 station market that it's in. (Ie drinks & desserts, chips, handy essentials...) Somehow your order does not allow you to eat inside next door. But we usually get our food to go anyway. I crave this chicken. read more

The staff was very friendly and the chicken looks fresh! Happy to have one of these locations nearby us when we have that Krispy chicken Kraving! Tonight we ordered an 8 piece dark meat chicken selection. Yum! read more

Well, I promised to return and I did! This time for chicken tenders which were recommended by a reader of my earlier review. He was right!! Best I've had. Nice size and Kristy coating was A+. The got a fresh batch and couldn't get home fast enough. Mashed potatoes and slaw again. Had one left over for a snack before bedtime. We'll do that again! read more

Ok had the family meal. Steak fries were meh. Rolls were good, chicken pieces were extremely good if you want crispy chicken with some pop to them The chicken tenders were ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CHICKEN TENDERS IVE EVER HAD. Ok . I don't like chicken tenders. Dry, think, yuck. I usually bury them in sauce to create something edible These are just freaking amazing. I have to have more. Soon. Just them. Lots of them. I might have 4. That will destroy me. They are huge. Don't care. Will die on this hill. Best tenders ever. Like chicken pieces, sure. Chicken sandwich. Umm, good, very good Areyoukiddingme why aren't you getting chicken tenders? Go. Now. You are hungry. Right off 80 at Penryn Ave inside, yes INSIDE the 76 gas station. Have gas? Have $10? Why are you still reading this review? Get in your car and go You are very welcome read more

This is the best Krispy country chicken in sac! Hands down!! People were very nice and go there all the time

Heading up to Tahoe we stopped at the 76 gas station and saw they had a Kristy Krunchy Chicken inside. I've heard good things about their chicken, but had some reservation about "gas station food" . We decided to give it a shot and order 6 chicken strips. It was surprisingly decent. They were good sized strips and seasoned well enough I was eating them without any bbq sauce. I will say a few pieces were a little rubbery and the coating wasn't really crispy or crunchy unfortunately. In all honesty, this is more of a 3.5 rating but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and rounded up. read more

Did you know there are good chicken spots inside gas stations....me either. I can only vouch for the Penryn one but they are all over including in Sacramento. The name of them are Krispy Krunchy Chicken- the chicken is good the biscuit is even better! Must go into the gas station to get this delicious chicken. read more

Customer service is horrible. This is the second time ive been here both times it's been bad. This time i wanted to try the shrimp. The blonde girl ringing me up yelled to the cook "one order of shrimp sorry!" Then she said it takes 5-7 minutes to make are you sure you want it. I said ya. Then she yelled to the cook she still wants it. So the cook came over told her it's 10minutes. So she said actually it's 10minutes are you sure you still want it. I said ya. So she yelled back at the cook sorry she still wants it. Then she proceeded to pack my chicken tenders up the sat on the counter out of the heat lamp while the shrimp was cooking. I understand employees are hard to find. But return customers are even harder to find. Have your staff take a course on customer service. read more

These are popping up all over and mostly at 76 gas stations. Not sure if there is a connection with 76 and I don't know. I have been to one in Antelope, CA and the chicken was amazing. I was skeptical but a friend told me I had to try. I didn't know if he was kidding me but I was in the area and thought why not. It was amazing. Hot, fresh, just spicy enough and the sides were all delicious. And from a gas station?! yup. I have since been to a few others and the chicken has been dry and old to mediocre. I'm assuming these are all franchised so depending on how your specific location is managed, it could be great or disgusting. Difficult to review. The food itself if properly prepared is actually very good. The quality control is the problem. read more

Chicken was hot and ready to serve.Customer service was good. The red bean and rice was good as well.

Great chicken! Have been twice now and I haven't had a bad experience. The chicken tenders and honey biscuits are . Tried the short rib burger as well, and the picture does not do it justice. Everything was great read more

This was my favorite place to get chicken until today. The people are kind but the chicken was disappointedly poor. It wasn't juicy and the outer part was not crunchy. It seems like the recipe changed. read more

Most amazing chicken like Mama used to make it. The potatoes fries are seasoned to perfection. The strips just melt in your mouth with the right amount of crispiness. It's at a gas station but don't let that deter you. It's perfect heavenly. The service is quick and prompt. read more

Krispy Krunchy Chicken - Chicken Wings Near Me - Penryn, California

11/8 after 3:40 p.m. After the disappointing service with the Auburn location, my mom & I drove 18 miles from the Auburn store to this Krispy Krunchy Chicken location in Penryn. At this gas station, you walk in the door and to the left of the store, there is a seperate counter for the Krispy Krunchy Chicken customers. A wonderful older woman and a young man were working behind the counter, with a hot case full of chicken and sides. I had called before arriving to make sure they had Chicken and the woman on the phone offered to make me a fresh 8 piece batch of chicken. As we walked toward the counter where they serve the chicken, my mom & I were greeted with a smiling woman. She asked how she could help us and I told her that my mom & I called in an 8 piece order. There it was, boxed and ready. The young man behind the counter was hard at work also greeted us with a smile. With our boxes of chicken in hand and a smile on everyone's face, we were off for a long ride home. My mom commented that they looked happy working compared to the other store we were at. This location has earned my business from here on out. read more

Best chicken fingers ever! Large, hot, juicy and oh so good! Definitely worthy and will be back again and again!

Chicken and biscuits were hot and delicious! My order wasn't accurate but I didn't much care as it was very good. My grandson that's 7 also had cole slaw but he didn't care for it. He loved the biscuits! Staff very helpful and friendly! read more

This was by far the best Krispy Krunchy Chicken that I have been to. I love that this location opens at 8am (that's a bit early for chicken lol) and even on holidays. As soon as we walked in we were greeted immediately with a warm welcome and were greeted with all of that delicious looking chicken lol. The menu is like the others they have your chicken meals, chicken strips, Krispy shrimp, sides, honey butter biscuits and other items. Prices are great and they have a nice variety of dipping sauces. Our chicken was super fresh and had just come out of the fryer. I ordered a two piece and two honey butter biscuits while my significant other ordered the three piece tenders and a biscuit. The chicken was amazing!!! It was seasoned and battered so well, you could even see that the seasoning had sunk into the meat as well. It was very juicy, fresh and crispy. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had and that's no lie. It tasted home made and tasted completely different from the location in Hayward. The honey butter biscuits were delicious as well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and that honey butter was soaked all throughout the biscuit. The chicken strips were great also, very flavorful, crispy and went well with the honey mustard AND special dipping sauce. Overall when I'm in the Roseville area I will be coming back here for my fried chicken fix, it was definitely worth it. We're still talking about how good this chicken was a week later!! read more

Chicken not good this time ,not freshly cooked ,over cooked and somewhat dry. The chicken tenddrs 1/2 the size as before .I also had to warm up the chicken and potato wedges when I got home . Its only a 2to3 minute drive from my house . I would give the previous visit a 5 out of 5 stars and this visit a 2 out of 5 stars .The only positive is the the seasoning is good. Very disappointed disappointed this time. read more

The best chicken you can have, like it says it's crunchy and with great flavor.we grab it up when ever we are close by.

The best chicken in town!!! A couple of amazing employees!!! AND a couple of downright MEAN employees I usually get just enough chicken for myself and it's usually smooth but if I order enough for say 5 people they complain and tell me they don't have enough and to call first. 3 out of the last 4 times I called ahead to give them a heads up that I wanted chicken enough for 4-6 people they don't answer the phone So if you are by yourself and want a 1-2 pieces of amazing chicken go there and try not to make them mad!!! If you want chicken for your family do your self a favor and go somewhere else otherwise you will be treated like a HUGE inconvenience and will receive eye rolls!! And to be fair half of the employees are super friendly Half are ruining the business...... I guess I should be grateful that anyone shows up to their jobs these days read more

very very disapointed..for two days in a row i was denied purchasing a 12 peice chicken tenders. monday at 7:15 i was told it was to late to cook more tenders. so i returned today( tuesday) at 6:30pm tried to order 12 peice tenders and was told, sorry no tenders were are only selling bone in chicken tonight. i asked does that mean your out of tenders or you just won't cook me an order of tenders. she said her manager tolder to only sell bone in chicken. that twice this place did want my money. so i will spread the word to all who will listen...don't go to penryn kristy chicken they don't want your business!! read more

I feel like this is some of the best chicken commercially available, 5. Never had any issues with the chicken. Today was my first time ordering the family meal and receiving the fries. I wasn't allowed to substitute the fries out. I was surprised at the number of fries that came with the family meal but what I was surprised about more is how stale the fries were. They tasted as though they'd been cooked days prior and left out and then reheated. Extremely poor quality. I can only assume this was because of preparation as these are not manufactured in house. Extremely disappointed with the quality especially given the quality of the chicken. I would not recommend the fries at all. I'd rather have not gotten them read more

Nice stop in for fried chicken. Better than KFC and other fast food chicken. Great chicken strips as well.

If you want KKC prepared and cooked the right way, this spot inside the 76 gas station is one of the best in greater Sacramento area. I must admit it tasted like the Filipino favorite Jollibee friend chicken. It is slightly cheaper than KFC. They really try hard for you to tip. There is a tip jar and they ask again on the console payment. Sorry, it is a Fast Food, I ain't tipping for this crap. Still 5 stars though for the quality of their chicken compared to other locations, a lot of them in Sacramento area. read more

I'm slightly ashamed. My favorite fried chicken comes from a small corner of a 76 Gas Station off Penryn Rd Exit. I've come here several times over the years. It's our guilty, shameful treat for delicious comfort. I've hit this place after a long night of losses in Reno, not because I was hungry, but because I needed to feel like a winner. It's that good. Haven't been here in a year or so, and decided to stop by this busy gas station to pick up something quick while I was on a conference call. Cathy was very helpful and quick to ring my order. She made sure I had my dipping sauces, and I was on my way! The chicken is crispy and so flavorful. You can see spices through the batter and on the chicken itself. The fresh and hot honey biscuit has the perfect amount of sweet crunch on the outside and flakiness on the inside. I prefer chicken on the bone and BF likes boneless. We both really enjoyed our meal (we always do!). read more

My Mom and I generally get Krispy Krunchy Chicken every other Thursday. Generally, we order chicken strips by phone for lunch and then pick them up. We've been doing this for many years. Well, I decided to throw a small grad party, so I called and ordered chicken for dinner. Our order came to $35, just for 12 strips and an 8 piece mixed. When I got home I was very disappointed! The chicken strips were dry and cold!? We only live 10 minutes away...so they should've been FRESH! They were so dry they were hard to swallow!? Tasted like they sat all day!? I had never had a bad meal from KKC, so this was unexpected!? Normally I'd give them a 5 star rating, however, last night wasn't a 5 star service. I will continue to eat lunch there, but will not do dinner again! If this should happen again, we won't be returning to this KKC. Hoping for better service in the Future!? read more
