Krispy Chicken and Avocado Salad and Sweet Potato Fries
Jenny C.

One of my favorite go to places for casual dine in! I have been craving their Krispy Chicken and Avocado Salad ever since I tried it and their sweet potato fries. They both taste so fresh and they give an adequate portion so you're left feeling full and satisfied. The Krispy Chicken is clean fried so it has such a light crunchy texture without it feeling heavy or oily. The service is great, you order at the front the moment you walk in and grab whatever table is open. They're very attentive and the place is super spacious and clean.

The hair that was in my salad I noticed 2 bites into eating.

I placed my order tonight at 7:08 p.m. and waited 36 minutes for a salad and a small order of mashed potatoes. During that time, the customers who ordered immediately before me had already eaten and were leaving, while two customers who ordered after me had received their food and were already eating. After waiting all that time, I learned that my order had apparently been ready and was sitting behind the registers. The employee who took my order had walked right past me without letting me know it was ready. What made the experience even more frustrating was that during the entire 36 minutes I waited, no one greeted me, checked on my order, or acknowledged me. Several times I tried saying "excuse me" so I could ask about my food, but I was repeatedly ignored. Eventually, another employee noticed my order sitting behind the register. She apologized and kindly offered to have it remade. Unfortunately, because I do not drive at night and needed to return to my hotel, waiting for another order was not a practical option. When I returned to my hotel room, I began eating my salad. After only two bites, I found a long black hair in my salad with blue cheese stuck to it. I was absolutely disgusted. After waiting 36 minutes, being repeatedly ignored, and receiving food that had been sitting behind the register without anyone telling me it was ready, finding a long black hair in my food made an already terrible experience even worse. I am in Roseville on a work trip and had planned my meals for the next two days around eating here because I had anticipated having a great experience. Instead, I am incredibly disappointed. I will also be letting the rest of my organization know about my experience, as this will not be a restaurant we choose for lunch during this trip or future work trips.

Stopped in today for lunch -- about 3 people in front of us to order but after we sat down the place was full -- like not tables at all!! I ordered the pulle dpork tacos -- yum!! service was quick -- they clear the tables and keep the place clean - I appreciate the -- ordering was easy and friendly.

Buckhorn was a pretty decent spot. I came here for lunch one afternoon because I needed to pick things up at Walmart. Once I got there my food was ready, (online) and I was able to sit inside. The customer service at this location is hella good. Legit. They non stopped checked up on me and made sure I was good. I just got the sandwich and soup special with a drink. They have hella sauces as well and I like sauces. Next time I'm in the area I will get something different.

Awesome California BBQ! Great sauce options. Much better taste, meat quality, meat cut, quantity and better value than Lucilles BBQ! Full bar available. Tri-Tip Buck 6 oz had plenty of meat on a nice crunchy long mild garlic roll. Meat quality and cut was excellent and much better than Lucilles! If you want great BBQ, come here or Buckhorn Folsom, dont be disappointed with Lucilles unfortunate consistent lack of quality and reduced value.

Sorry, didn't have a picture but she got some of the BBQ , and apparently loved it.

Everything, bought it off of to good to go and it was really nice both times. The first meal was 1/2 chicken smoked and sides, Mac and cheese and broccoli salad, all tasted like it just came out of the kitchen fresh, and probably did. Picked it up and the service was excellent super easy to get and get. The parking lot was clean and easy to access, the interior was clean and inviting. Definitely a worthwhile experience, and all at a sweet price! To good not to miss, a California treat

She had a 1/2 rack of ribs, sweet potato waffle fries and the Mac and cheese sides to go with her water.

They were fast taking & delivering exactly what we asked for, and more. It was a wonderful back-to-school dinner for my daughter and I. They don't have great BBQ like we do with the multiple locations of Buckhorn in Sac. The staff was quick, friendly and most important, in my mind, accurate!

Came with the mister for lunch on a Friday & there was a good amount of people. We waited for a moment to be helped by a friendly staffer who apologized for the wait. We ordered at the counter, got a number, & then picked a spot to sit. It is a big, airy, bright space from all the windows & natural light. It was clean & well-maintained. Seating options are plentiful at the bar, high tops, tables, booths, & outdoor shaded patio. The music was loud alternative. Three TVs had sports on. Fountain drinks & sauces are self serve. However, I didn't see additional napkins available & they didn't offer wet wipes like I remember at another location I've visited. There are hand sanitizer wall dispensers. Our food was brought to the table quickly by a friendly server, along with utensils & napkins. Our order-- -Tri Tip Buck (6 oz, no onions) Combo with Fries The meat was tender & smoky, the bread buttery, & the jus mildly flavored. The fries were great--crispy & potato-y. They were a perfect vehicle for dipping in the tasty sauces we picked. The fries were a big portion that we were able to share. -Mushroom Swiss Big Beef Sandwich The beef was juicy & tender, but I couldn't taste any smokiness like described. The bun was soft. The onions were cooked nicely with a textural bite & had a subtle herb flavor. I liked the mushroom component. The sauce was good. However, nothing stood out because it was all so mildly flavored. I definitely needed some added barbecue sauce. We enjoyed a hearty meal here & had a good lunch experience.

The food here is so delicious. Our favorite time to come is for happy hour. Great deals. The service is quick. The restaurant is clean and enjoyable. I have been many times and it never disappoints. Kid friendly too!!

This place was packed-- barely any seating inside so my boyfriend decided to sit outside and the staff was nice enough to turn the heaters on for us. It was nice being alone outside so we could demolish some ribs with no shame. Our food came in quickly soon after we found our seats. The ribs were thick and tender with some good BBQ flavor. My tri-tip was not very tender and I found myself chewing for a while... the sides were great (though I found some onion skin in my rings).

When we…read morearrived, we were initially going to be seated at a table, but I asked if we could have a booth instead and they said no problem and accommodated us right away. Our server, Todd, was fantastic. He was attentive, friendly, and provided great service throughout the meal. For our food, I ordered the chimichurri top sirloin without the chimichurri. My husband and one of my sons ordered the smoked chicken with beef ribs, my younger son had the buttermilk fried chicken kids meal, and we also ordered the chicken nachos as an appetizer. Unfortunately, none of us really enjoyed our food that day. Afterward, I received a survey about our visit and gave honest feedback about the experience. The assistant general manager, Dennis, reached out to me personally, was incredibly apologetic, and offered us a generous gift card because he genuinely hoped we would come back and give Lucille's another chance. I really appreciated the way he handled it. He listened to the feedback, took it seriously, and made a real effort to make things right. We decided to give Lucille's another try, this time ordering takeout online, and the experience was completely different. When we arrived to pick up our order, the employee helping us actually took everything out of the bag and compared each item against the receipt to make sure nothing was missing. I really appreciated that extra attention to detail. There is nothing worse than getting all the way home with takeout only to realize something was forgotten. I decided to order the chimichurri top sirloin again, but this time I kept the chimichurri on it. What a difference. The steak was cooked to rare perfection--juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were savory and delicious. The coleslaw was also very good, although I personally would have liked it just a little creamier. My husband ordered the Southern fried chicken with gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, along with a side Caesar salad. My older son ordered the brisket Smokey Joe, and my younger son had the buttermilk fried chicken kids meal. They also gave us a bag of five biscuits with apple cinnamon butter, which was such a nice touch. This time, everyone genuinely enjoyed their food. Maybe our first visit was simply an off day, or maybe we just didn't order the dishes that were the best fit for us. Either way, I'm really glad Dennis encouraged us to give Lucille's another chance because our second experience completely changed our impression. Between the way we were accommodated when we arrived, Todd's great service, Dennis taking our feedback seriously, the care taken with our takeout order, and how much better the food was the second time around, we will definitely be back.

On a positive note, you can never go wrong with the back porch lemonade, that is great every time! The brisket that used to be amazing is just ok, and today was very strange looking (wish I took a pic) and kind of liked like a thin slice of tri tip. I ordered the 1/2 chicken and it was actually great tonight. A few of the others in our party had their meals come out wrong, which was disappointing. We were a large party (12), so I know that can be challenging. The server did his best and was nice for sure, but clearly frazzled. The biggest complaint tonight aside from the overly leisurely pace of the meal, the patio seating! It used to be great, they had shades all around the sides to block out the sun as needed, not all of those have been removed leaving us to bake in the sun!! Not good, why in the world would those have been taken down?! We moved tables trying to get away from the sun, but no escaping it. Another couple that came in also tried to move tables to avoid the blinding light which made dining unpleasant!

I usually go for the dirty grilled cheese, always comes out great (tons of meat), looking and tasting delicious. Tonight I made a different choice, thought I'd try a bit healthier option with the meat sampler chicken. Now usually when I have been to bbq spots you get like 1/2 chicken so I was VERY shocked when the smallest piece of sliced chicken breast came out on a little side plate. Was a strange presentation and immediately had me disappointed in my choice. In fairness, the chicken tasted nice, was pretty dry though and barely warm, but good flavor at least (needed sauce so wasn't so dry). It was maybe 4-5 ounces of chicken which seems a bit skimpy for the price. My side salad with blue cheese dressing was good as usual. They should really consider at least more chicken and better plating though! Got my usual, very berry refresher, maybe a new bartender tonight? Wasn't as good as usual, but everyone has an off night. Overall though, love this place, still gave a good rating and of course will be back.

i don't usually have high expectations for restaurants that serve such a wide variety of items…read more.. but i was recommended ktown by several people, so i gave it a try. it wasn't very busy when we came on a friday night. the interior was decorated with neon lights, and it was spacious. i thought the seats and table felt a bit sticky, and the rest of the restaurant didn't feel too clean either. we were seated quickly, and service was friendly. our server explained the menu - essentially, the soups and meats for hot pot could be ordered off the menu, and everything else could be grabbed at the bar. there were a lot of options, and i was excited to try everything. i ordered the szechuan mala broth, which i thought was so mediocre. it was pretty spicy but otherwise bland, like there wasn't any real flavor. i usually like to drink my hot pot broth, but i didn't think it was good enough to sip a lot of. the thai tom yum was a better soup, but it still wasn't super flavorful. it tasted like a watered down tom yum - not super tangy. i also typically like to dip my meats in sauce, and ktown offered a sauce bar with all of the basics, including sesame sauce, soy sauce, ponzu, cilantro, garlic, and other things. there were also sauces for kbbq here, like brisket sauce. there was a lot of variety for meat options, but they were all just a lot thicker and tougher than i expected. our server explained that the ones on the menu were really just for hot pot, but we used some of them for kbbq anyway because we wanted more unmarinated meats. most of the meats at the bar were marinated. i would recommend avoiding this with the beef tongue. it was so thick and extremely chewy, although it was better when cooked in the hot pot broth. the beef belly is usually my favorite cut, but it was also chewy. the black angus brisket was okay; it was on the tougher and drier side. the us kobe beef was my favorite cut of beef because it was the least chewy. the pork shoulder and pork belly were also just okay; i liked that the pork belly was a thinner cut. i probably enjoyed it the most. the australian wagyu was just too dry. the new zealand lamb was right there with the beef tongue as the worst cut because again, it was very chewy, even in the hot pot broth... the broth kind of masked the texture of the meats, but it was so bland that i needed a lot of sauce. at the bar, there was a variety of seafood for the hot pot, including clams, mussels, fish, shrimp, and crawfish. they also offered a good selection of vegetables, like enoki mushrooms, peppers, cabbage, spinach, and onions. there were also quail eggs, roe pockets, fish balls, and dumplings, among other things. there were a lot of meats at the bar for kbbq, but they weren't labeled nor set out in any particular pattern. the spicy pork bulgogi was overmarinated, but it was one of my favorites (of the meats on the menu and the ones set out) because the sauce masked the low quality of meat. it was the typical korean spicy pork marinade - not too spicy and slightly sweet. we also tried the bulgogi, and it was also typical - sweet as expected. they set out thicker cuts of pork belly here, which were super heavy and fatty. almost all of the meats were marinated in some kind of sauce. there were some steaks that were just seasoned with salt and pepper, but they were so tough. there were a lot of other appetizers and hot dishes too, although everything looked like it was left out for a while. i saw kimchi, beansprout salads, cold potato salads, cucumbers, seaweed salads, fried dumplings, tempura, and some other things. i tried the wings, which were plain and kind of dry, and the skin wasn't crispy anymore. the japchae was okay, but there wasn't a lot of flavor. there were some mussels that were covered in cheese and a creamy sauce, which made them pretty heavy. the seafood boil was lukewarm, but the seasoning was okay. it was just a little oily. i did enjoy their corn cheese, which we heated up ourselves over the kbbq grill. i liked that it was slightly sweet. on the side of the bar, there was a variety of nigiri, sashimi, and sushi rolls - all poor quality. the salmon nigiri and sashimi weren't tender nor soft, and neither were the tuna or yellowtail. they were kind of mushy and slightly rubbery. the rolls were better, although they were almost all variations of california rolls doused in sauce - most of them had spicy mayo and a sweet glaze. the sauce at least masked the quality of the fish. overall, ktown was a jack of all trades and master of none. while i was impressed by the extensive variety of options, i got full very quickly because the quality of food wasn't the best. if someone ever needed a restaurant with options for everyone, then i might suggest ktown, but i wouldn't really be able to say i liked the hot pot, sushi, or kbbq. since i would rather have tasty food over lots of options, i wouldn't come back.
